Mohammed Kudus still has point to prove at Tottenham as value assessed after West Ham

Mohammed Kudus has had an electric start to life at Tottenham this season.

Kudus joined Spurs from West Ham earlier in the summer and has taken no time in settling in under the tutelage of Thomas Frank in North London.

This saw the Ghana international pick up two assists on his Tottenham Hotspur Stadium debut as Tottenham secured a 3-0 win over Burnley in the Premier League.

The attacking midfielder was also superb in the away win at Manchester City despite not contributing to a goal, with Kudus already being well received by the N17 faithful.

With that being said, there will still be questions asked of the 25-year-old as the campaign moves forward, especially based on how his form changed throughout his Hammers spell.

MORE SPURS STORIES

This story includes exclusive comment from former Brentford and Leicester City manager Martin Allen.

Mohammed Kudus questions raised at Tottenham

Tottenahm fans were left blown away by Kudus’ league debut as the Ghanaian picked up two assists in a hugely positive showing to begin the campaign.

This has seen many Spurs fans poke fun at West Ham for selling the attacker, especially while their troubles under Graham Potter continue.

With that being said, the London Stadium outfit are seemingly unmoved by the departure of the ex-Ajax man after a poor season last time out in claret and blue.

Former Irons midfielder Allen and West Ham fans aren’t yet sold on Kudus at Spurs, suggesting that his performances early on at West Ham were just as good, before they ultimately dropped off heavily.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Allen said: “He’s started well, but he started well at West Ham.

“He was electric, and they thought they had one of the best players in the world.

“He had a massive dip in form, but was playing out of position in fairness. Bowen was playing in his position, and he was never going to get in ahead of him.

“It has been an electric start for him at Tottenham, but it is only one game.

“Has his value already gone up? Well, last season, West Ham fans wanted him out, so at the moment, I would say he has to prove himself over the next 30 to 40 games rather than just one.“

Thomas Frank must keep faith in Mohammed Kudus

As it stands, there is little reason to doubt the abilities of the Ghana star after such a positive start to life in North London.

There is no doubt that Kudus has been a hugely positive addition and has helped to get the best out of someone like Richarlison in the opening weeks of the campaign.

As a result, Frank can’t pay ear service, just yet, to those at West Ham who are yet to be proven wrong in their doubts about the versatile attacker.

It will be the work of the 25-year-old to show his talents on a regular basis for the Lilywhites and show the London Stadium faithful what they’re missing.
