Tottenham Hotspur are now just one point above the relegation zone – yes, really – and will be desperate for a result that can increase that gap when they lock horns with Crystal Palace on Thursday night, writes JOE CITRONE.

After pretty much every result went against them on Wednesday, the pressure is really on the shoulders of Igor Tudor and Tottenham Hotspur to start picking up some points after losing both of their new interim boss’ first two matches at the helm.

Their most recent outing – a 2-1 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage – was about as lacklustre a performance as you’re likely to see, and Tudor will need much more from his players if he is to guide Spurs to safety.

Ill-discipline was costly for Crystal Palace in their most recent Premier League game, with a sending off for Maxence Lacroix, who opened the scoring for the Eagles, seeing them fall to a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Crystal Palace are not entirely safe from relegation yet and still have a cautious eye over their shoulders, but they are considerably closer to survival than Spurs. A win on Thursday night would go a long way toward easing any remaining concerns for Oliver Glasner’s men.

Spurs’ wretched defence, which arguably should have conceded more than twice against Fulham at the weekend, is likely to set the tone for this game, and I’m expecting an open contest. At 23/20 with starsports.bet, I like the play of both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals.

Also, after his controversial sale in January, Brennan Johnson is surely going to come back to haunt Spurs, isn’t he? He is 3/1 to score anytime on Thursday.
