Tottenham Hotspur are big fans of a 22-year-old Premier League midfielder, and they may have an advantage in the race for his signature.

The lack of creativity in the middle of the park has been a problem for Tottenham this season, and it is one that the Lilywhites may need to solve by entering the market.

Spurs have made it clear that they now want to recruit readymade players as they look to build up a squad which can compete with the best teams across the Premier League.

They may thus be looking for players from within the English top-flight, and it has now been confirmed that one young midfielder, who is turning a lot of heads this season, has been on their radar for a long time.

Tottenham are expected to make a move for Alex Scott in the future

The player in question is Alex Scott, who has now been called up to the England squad in light of his impressive performances for Bournemouth this season.

Journalist Dean Jones has now claimed that the 22-year-old has been on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar for a long time and suggested that the North Londoners will revisit their interest in the midfielder in the future.

Speaking about Scott, Jones told TEAMtalk: “He has been a player of interest to a lot of clubs for a while. Even when Bournemouth first signed him, there were other clubs scouting him. I know Spurs were one of them. There are members of their recruitment team that are very hot on him.

“It’s not really one I think they have in mind for the immediate future, but it would not surprise me if they are linked in the future or actively tried to sign him.

“From the view of a general football fan, his call-up is probably surprising, but anyone who has been watching closely over the past few years knows exactly what he is capable of.”

Spurs may have a big advantage in the race for Alex Scott’s signature

There is no doubt that the Lilywhites are going to face plenty of competition for the Cherries star if he becomes available.

However, they might have an advantage over other suitors, as Scott has admitted in the past that he is a big Tottenham fan.
