Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson has suggested that Leeds United might make a move for Manor Solomon this summer.

The player was on loan at Leeds last season, and he was an important player for them. He helped them secure promotion to the Premier League, and it remains to be seen whether they come forward with an offer to sign in permanently.

The 26-year-old Israeli international needs regular gametime to continue his development. He is unlikely to get those opportunities at Tottenham. Meanwhile, Robinson also adds that the player is unlikely to be a part of Thomas Frank’s plans at the club.

Manor Solomon tipped to join Leeds

“I think a move from Manor Solomon would be first on the priority list”, Robinson told Football Insider.

“I’m not sure they’d have to pay £20million for Manor Solomon, although he was excellent last year.

“It was interesting when Thomas Frank did his post-match after [Tottenham’s] pre-season friendly, when they were talking about Son leaving – Manor Solomon and Bryan Gil didn’t get a mention.

“It makes me think that [for] Manor Solomon, he’s not in Thomas Frank’s thinking.”

Solomon needs to sort out his future

It will be interesting to see if the player can wrap up a move quickly and focus on his football once again. There is no doubt that he is a quality player, but he does not have a future at the north London club. He needs to join a club where he will get regular gametime.

Leeds could use more quality on the flanks, as well as the 26-year-old could be a useful acquisition. He knows the club well, and he has excelled with them recently. He will be able to settle in quickly and make an instant impact.

Tottenham are unlikely to stand in his way, and they are unlikely to demand a premium either. They will get rid of the player quickly, and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.
