Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad during the summer transfer window.
According to a report from Fichajes, they could be willing to offer around €70 million (£60m) for the 23-year-old attacker. The Japanese International has been linked with the move to the Premier League in the past as well.
Tottenham could use Takefusa Kubo
Tottenham need more quality and depth on the flanks, and the 23-year-old could prove to be an excellent acquisition. Although he is a right-sided winger, he’s versatile enough to operate on the left as well. He will look to add goals and creativity to the side going forward.
Liverpool star Wataru Endo has described him: “He sees things that other people don’t see, the ability to see a pass and pick a long ball. His intelligence is outstanding. He is very skilled technically, but also very brave; he’s not scared of the ball and of taking on responsibility.
“He’s a natural leader and he’s comfortable with the pressure. He has the ingredients to one day be a superstar.”
Kubo could fancy Spurs move
The opportunity to move to the Premier League could be quite exciting for him. It would be a significant step up in his career, and he would be testing himself at a higher level. The player possesses the technical attributes necessary to excel in the Premier League, and a move to Tottenham could be ideal. They have secured Champions League qualification, and they will be able to provide him with the platform to compete at a high level. Spurs managed to win the UEFA Europa League last season, and they will be an attractive destination for players. They will look to fight for trophies this season as well.
Son Heung-min has left the club, and they need to replace him. The 23-year-old could prove to be an excellent alternative. Apart from his quality as a player, his commercial appeal and global marketability would be bonuses for Tottenham if they can get the deal done.
The Spanish outfit will hold out for a fee of around €70 million, and it will be interesting to see if prepared to submit an offer for him in the coming weeks. Regular football in England could bring out the best in the Japanese international and help him fulfil his potential.
