For two decades, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has stood alongside young people, families and communities across Haringey, Enfield, Barnet and Waltham Forest, helping people create opportunities, overcome challenges and build a stronger future.

Last year alone, more than 13,000 people took part in over 10,500 hours of programmes, generating £24.4 million in social value for the local area.

Now, as it marks 20 years of impact, the Club’s official charitable body is bringing its name closer to the people and places at the centre of its work.

While Tottenham Hotspur Foundation remains its registered charity name, Spurs in the Community becomes the organisation’s operating name, signalling a bold next chapter in its journey alongside north London.

Marc Leckie, Spurs in the Community chief executive, said: “At the heart of the new identity is a simple belief: To Care Is To Do. It’s a belief that care is more than words. It means showing up, listening, building trust and taking action.

“For 20 years, we’ve stood alongside north Londoners – and we’re proud of the difference we’ve made together. Spurs in the Community better reflects who we are, who we serve and where we belong, whilst building on the trusted Spurs name that’s underpinned our work for two decades.

“This is much more than a change of name. It’s a statement of intent for the next chapter: to keep listening to what matters to our communities, creating opportunities and turning care into action.”

From north London, for north London

Spurs in the Community is based at Percy House, just a stone’s throw from the north-west corner of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – a fitting home for an organisation rooted in the same community that helped give birth to the Club.

Tottenham Hotspur was founded by a group of local schoolboys, who took inspiration from Henry ‘Harry Hotspur’ Percy – whose family used Percy House as their London residence – when choosing the Club’s name and emblem.

That spirit of community remains at the heart of Spurs in the Community today. What began at grassroots in 2006 has grown into a leading community organisation, working alongside residents and partners to create lasting change across north London – and this is only the beginning.

Later this year, Spurs in the Community will unveil a new strategy setting out its ambitions for the next phase of its work, alongside an exciting fundraising event designed to help unlock even greater impact for local communities.

Its activities continue to be strengthened by the support of partners including the Premier League Foundation and Postcode Lottery, alongside a growing network of businesses and individuals who share its commitment to the area.

Registration for the Spurs Purpose Collective – a network offering exclusive events, brand opportunities and the chance to help shape and support the future of Spurs in the Community – is now open.
