Tottenham are now exploring a summer move for Genoa defender Koni De Winter, with the club making an enquiry over the Belgian’s availability amid growing competition from both the Premier League and Serie A.

Tottenham Hotspur received fantastic news just last month regarding defender Koni De Winter.

It was reported that an exit from Genoa is very much on the cards for the 22-year-old defender, as the Italian side are in desperate need of funds and are aiming to raise around €50m (£42.4m) from player sales this summer.

Of course, the majority of that amount is expected to come from the sale of De Winter, who has impressed since making the switch from Juventus to Genoa. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with several clubs – not just Tottenham – now circling.

The latest report from GIVEMESPORT has now revealed that West Ham United and Crystal Palace are among the English clubs to have shown interest in signing the Belgian.

However, the interest is not limited to just Premier League sides, as there is significant attention from Italy too, with both Inter Milan and Napoli also making enquiries.

It has been confirmed that the versatile 22-year-old, who can operate as a centre-back, full-back or defensive midfielder, is expected to be available this summer for a fee between €25m (£21.2m) and €30m (£25.5m).

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs are understood to be in the market to strengthen their defence this summer, particularly with Cristian Romero being linked with Atletico Madrid and Ben Davies potentially departing as his contract runs down.

With Koni De Winter available at a cut-price figure, the Lilywhites are keeping a close eye on developments and remain firmly interested.

However, the other clubs monitoring the Belgian also appear to have genuine needs in that area of the pitch.

Crystal Palace are reportedly looking to add a central defender to their ranks, especially after Trevoh Chalobah’s loan move from Chelsea was cut short in January and with Marc Guehi’s future still uncertain.

West Ham United, meanwhile, are said to be targeting a young centre-back who can adapt to Graham Potter’s favoured 3-4-2-1 formation.

Despite already securing a deal to sign Empoli defender Luca Marianucci for €9m (£7.6m), Napoli are understood to be planning another defensive addition ahead of next season.

Inter Milan are also working on reinforcing their backline and are said to be targeting a young centre-half who can arrive in time to integrate before the Club World Cup.
