Even though Tottenham continue to struggle to pick up wins at home in the Premier League, Kevin Danso has made a confident claim about the club’s prospects this season.

It appeared as though Spurs were set to win at home in the Premier League for the first time since the opening day of the season when Richarlison guided Wilson Odoberto’s curled effort into the back of the net against Man United in the 91st minute.

However, the Lilywhites threw two points away in the end, with an unmarked Matthijs de Ligt heading the ball into the back of the net in the 96th minute.

While Spurs are still just two points behind Chelsea in second place, Opta’s Supercomputer predicts that Tottenham will finish in the bottom half of the table, given the team’s current trajectory.

Kevin Danso says Tottenham can win another trophy this season

Despite the recent results, Kevin Danso insists that the current Spurs squad under Thomas Frank can end the season with silverware.

He claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are capable of channelling the resilience they showed to win the Europa League trophy in May to achieve something similar this season.

When asked if the team can lift another trophy this season, Danso told The Standard: “In football, anything is possible. We showed last season a lot of resilience to win the trophy. A lot of injuries, a lot of things that didn’t go our way, and we still managed to end it on a high.

“It’s not always how you start, it’s how you finish. Sometimes you’ve just got to dig in. This season we want to achieve something similar, so we’ve got to dig in again.”

Danso is determined to take every chance he gets

The Austrian has performed admirably whenever called upon this season, but starts have been hard to come by for him.

Danso is realistic about his prospects of game time, given that Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are at the club, but the former Lens man is determined to showcase his quality every time he gets an opportunity.

When asked about the difficulty of breaking into Thomas Frank’s starting eleven ahead of Van de Ven or Romero, the 26-year-old responded: “That’s part of being at a top club that’s at the top of world football, like Spurs is. You have players in every position that are top, top quality.

“Micky and Cuti are exactly that. I understand that, and I’m very realistic. My role is to just play as best as possible, try to get in the team. If not, also understand that’s part of football. I believe in myself. When you’re at the top of world football, that’s what happens. You’ve got competition. Just got to deal with it the best you can.

“Personally, you want to play every game, but you also understand that Micky and Cuti are performing very well. When I get my opportunity, even ten minutes at the end of a game, perform at that same level.”
