Tottenham Hotspur have placed RC Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser, according to TEAMtalk. The report adds that Guglielmo Vicario could leave this summer. Brighton and Hove Albion’s Bart Verbruggen, Manchester City’s James Trafford and Sunderland’s Robin Roefs have also been mentioned as potential ptions for the London outfit.

Spurs lost 4-1 at home against rivals Arsenal over the weekend. They are sat in 16th in the Premier League table as they aim to stay up. Next up is an away trip to Craven Cottage to play Fulham.

Tottenham Hotspur linked with RC Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser

Spurs could see Risser as someone to boost their goalkeeping department. He has caught the eye in Ligue with Lens over recent times. At the age of 21, he has bags of potential and will only get better in the future.

Risser, who is a France youth international, is looking to make his country’s squad for the World Cup later this year in USA, Canada and Mexico. He was snapped up by his current club last year and has since made their number one his own. The youngster has made 24 appearances in all competitions this season, 22 of which have come in the league.

The ‘keeper started his career at Strasbourg after joining them as a teenager from Colmar and he rose up through their ranks. However, he never played a competitive match for his previous team. Instead, he was shipped out on loan to Dijon and Red Star to get some experience under his belt and to boost his development.

What next for Tottenham Hotspur and Igor Tudor?

Spurs are back in action on Sunday with their trip to Fulham as they look to bounce back from losing to Arsenal. Speaking after their heavy defeat to Arsenal, caretaker boss Igor Tudor said: “It’s nice to understand where we are, because you prepare in the best possible way then there is the game to show you reality.

“So it’s nice from one point of view so each of us understand and come, as I said the players, stay quiet, they come on Tuesday and restart after these three or four training sessions to start to work harder than we did until now, to change our habits, to change the state of mind which is now as a team. It is the only way to work."

Hamburg director Claus Costa has said there is ‘no chance’ Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic will stay for next season. The centre-back is due to head to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer. He will then be looking to force his way into their team in the Premier League.

Spurs are currently battling to preserve their top flight status. They were beaten 4-1 by rivals Arsenal at home over the weekend. The London outfit are 16th in the table and are four points above the relegation zone.

Tottenham Hotspur latest regarding Luka Vuskovic

In this latest update regarding his situation at Hamburg, Costa has said, via Sport1: “Contractually, there’s no chance he’ll stay. It’s purely a loan, and we have no way to tie Luka to HSV long-term.”

Vuskovic, 19, is being tipped for a bright future in the game. He is a Croatia international with two caps under his belt so far. The youngster has become a standout player in the Bundesliga this season and has a lot of potential to develop down the line.

Spurs signed him in August 2025 before loaning him out to Hamburg to get some experience. He has made 21 appearances in this campaign and has chipped in with four goals. His current club were promoted from Bundesliga.2 last year and have since adapted well to life in the top flight.

Vuskovic rose up through Hadjuk Split’s academy ranks. He was a regular for them at various different youth levels before going on to play 11 times for their first-team. The Split-born man was also loaned out to Radomiak Radom and Westerlo to boost his development.

What next for Tottenham Hotspur and Igor Tudor?

Spurs are back in action on Sunday with an away trip to Fulham. Speaking after their heavy defeat to Arsenal, caretaker boss Igor Tudor said: “It’s nice to understand where we are, because you prepare in the best possible way then there is the game to show you reality.

One Tottenham star appears to have caused some trouble on social media, and it’s not Cristian Romero. Romero has made headlines more than once this season for his social media posts, regularly criticising the way the club is run, but he has stayed out of trouble this week.

The same can’t be said of Xavi Simons, who has upset some of his old fans from RB Leipzig with his use of social media over the weekend.

Saturday saw Simons’ old club RB Leipzig come mightily close to beating Borussia Dortmund only to concede an equaliser five minutes into stoppage time. Fabio Silva scored the goal, and he celebrated it on Instagram after the game with the caption “Until the last minute.”

Simons, who is friends with Silva from his PSV days, liked the post and commentated “brindemos”, which is Portuguese for “let’s raise a toast”.

Of course, Simons was just celebrating his friend’s success, but in doing so, he has appeared to rub salt in the wounds of his former club, who were the victims of that late goal. Fans soon spotted the comment and spread it around social media, leading to reactions from many.

Bild then ran a story detailing the story and the reaction to Simons’ social media activity. No longer a Leipzig player, the Dutchman doesn’t have to worry too much about fans there being upset, and when it comes down to it, he can have faith that reasonable-minded fans will know it was a case of him supporting his friend and that it had nothing to do with Leipzig being on the receiving end of the scoreline.

Simons regularly said that he felt ‘at home’ at Leipzig and that he enjoyed his time there, so he is not going to hold ill-will towards the club, and even if he did, it’s unlikely he would be so petty as to express it through social media comments.

Arsenal picked up a huge win in the Premier League title race on Sunday afternoon with a 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby.

The Gunners had watched Manchester City beat Newcastle United 2-1 on Saturday night but delivered a strong response as they beat their nearest rivals with two goals apiece for Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres.

The result puts Arsenal five points clear at the top of the table but they have played a game more than Man City, after drawing 2-2 with Wolves in midweek.

Speaking after the game, Mikel Arteta said: “I think the whole team, I cannot be prouder and happier for what I've seen out there, but especially the way we lived the last 72 hours, because I think this game in particular needed some context.

“And after what happened against Wolves and the manner in which we lost two points in the last kick of the game, it was tough. But that's the beauty of this game. There is no explanation watching the game, for how the hell you draw that game, from any angle.

“You watch it back and say it's impossible, and you have to watch it again and say it's not going to happen, but it happened. And then you have to lift yourself up because you're feeling angry, upset, ashamed at some point.

“We are all different nationalities, we all have different feelings, and then you have to bring everybody together. It's been a joy to spend that time together with them, to align everybody and to say: 'OK, what is going to be happening in the next chapter?'

“This one is gone, how do we use it to be a turning point and to make ourselves better, and that was the focus, that was the intention. But after you have to do it on the pitch, and I think what we've done from the beginning to the end of the match. It was outstanding.”

The predicted final table

Here is the predicted final Premier League table, according to OPTA’s simulations. We have only included Arsenal and City with the sides in third and below cut adrift in the race.

Arsenal's next five Premier League fixtures

Chelsea (H) - March 1

Brighton (A) - March 4

Everton (H) - March 15

Bournemouth (H) - April 11

Man City (A) - April 18

Leeds United (A) - February 28

Nottingham Forest (H) - March 4

Arsenal returned to winning ways in style against North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening, securing their place at the top of the Premier League.

There was huge pressure on Mikel Arteta’s side, with the Gunners having seen a 2-0 lead slip away against Wolves on Wednesday. A Manchester City victory on Saturday will have had the London outfit looking over their shoulders.

Eberechi Eze once again stepped up to the plate on derby day with confident showings all over the pitch. Here’s how the Arsenal players rated.

Arsenal player ratings v Tottenham

GK - David Raya, 8

Impressive when speeding out to end a dangerous Spurs break early on the first half. Could perhaps have done better to save the Tottenham goal, getting his leg out rather than going with his hands - but the critical errors for that came from Declan Rice and the defence. Made a brilliant reaction stop on a Richarlison flick in the final 10 minutes.

LB - Piero Hincapie, 7

A confident showing. Didn’t look fazed by the Spurs attacking options. Annoyed at himself when heading out for a goal kick rather than a throw in the first half, showing the high standards he sets himself.

CB - Gabriel, 7

Was caused some problems by Kolo Muani, perhaps lucky not to be penalised for a free-kick before half time when blocking the striker’s run without much intent on playing the ball. Did well to turn a very light push into a foul and see the striker’s second goal disallowed.

CB - William Saliba, 6

Had a very good chance to head home early on but couldn’t get the power behind the shot. Criticised for a ‘nothing challenge’ prior to the Spurs goal by Gary Neville on commentary, and that is probably a fair assessment.

RB - Jurrien Timber, 6

Booked early on for clattering into Pape Matar Sarr. Looked a little leggy today and was taken off early in the second half.

CM - Declan Rice, 7

Marked down for a rare error when overplaying the ball prior to the Spurs goal. Looked devastated to have made that mistake and bounced back well to energise the team from the centre of midfield.

CM - Martin Zubimendi, 7

Not one of the days when Zubimendi stole the show but his diligent work in midfield was as important as ever.

CM - Eberechi Eze, 10

Brilliant. The former Crystal Palace man has dominated in both North London derby encounters this season. It was one of those games where the midfielder spent periods without being involved but took his moments superbly. Very neat to control and poke home the ball for his first, and in the right place at the right time for the second. Also caused serious headaches without the ball thanks to his movement.

LW - Leandro Trossard, 7

Other players stole the show this evening but the Belgium international looked capable of causing a problem at any time. Constantly looking to stretch the Spurs defence.

ST - Viktor Gyokeres, 10

One of his best performances in an Arsenal shirt, hard to find any fault with that outing. Looked a real handful from the start and a huge physical presence. Smashed home his first goal and still hungry late on to find another. Looks to have finally arrived in full in the Premier League.

RW - Bukayo Saka, 8

Mr Persistent. Regularly hacked at by the Spurs defence but kept battling on - his determination to make something happen was crucial in making his side’s third and putting the game to bed.

Arsenal and Tottenham are now just hours away from the North London derby, with an interesting derby clash laying in wait at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Gunners will go into the game desperate to put things right after blowing a two-goal lead to draw with bottom club Wolves during the week.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are looking to get off on the right foot under new interim boss Igor Tudor, while also looking to put more distance between themselves and the bottom three. Ahead of the game, we have put together the final injury news surrounding both teams.

Dominic Solanke - Fit

There was some doubt over Solanke through illness, but Tudor has said: “Solanke had some problems with his throat, but he made today some training.”

Wilson Odobert - Out

Odobert is now out for the season. It has been confirmed: “We can confirm that Wilson Odobert has sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee... Wilson will see a specialist next week before undergoing surgery, and will then commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff.”

Destiny Udogie - Out

Frank confirmed before his departure: “Unfortunately, Destiny has a hamstring injury; he is out for the next four to five weeks.”

Cristian Romero - Out (Suspended)

Romero is suspended after being sent off with a straight red card against Manchester United recently.

Kevin Danso - Out

Frank said recently: “Kevin, he met the consultant, it's going forward, but still weeks before he's available.” Danso will be at least a couple of weeks.

Pedro Porro - Out

Tudor has said there will be no returness, so Porro will remain out.

Lucas Bergvall - Out

Frank said: “Unfortunately, Lucas picked up an ankle injury, so we keep being very unlucky with injuries, and it looks like it could be a longer one. He's been assessed over these two days, so [in terms of a RTP] timeframe, I'll know more about the next couple of days.” Bergvall is expected to miss around six weeks more.

Ben Davies - Out

Davies has undergone ankle surgery and will be absent until some time in April.

Richarlison - Out

Richarlison could be back next week or the week after.

Rodrigo Bentancur - Out

Bentancur has undergone surgery on his right hamstring and he will be absent until at least after the March international break.

Mohammed Kudus - Out

Kudus has been ruled out for months with a hamstring issue. Frank has confirmed: “Mohammed, unfortunately, is a bigger one to the tendon in the quad. That is one where we expect him back after the March international break.”

Dejan Kulusevski - Out

Frank has said: “Deki has another appt at the end of this week, then we'will know more. Of course, without the UCL squad, it's a sign of that; it's not tomorrow. I don't know [if he will play again this season].”

James Maddison - Out

Maddison is out for much - if not all - of the season with a knee injury. Frank said in December: “It's very early stages. It's still a long-term injury, so it's good to see him out there, but very early stages. There's no specific time frame. It will be a long time, unfortunately, before he's available.”

Martin Odegaard - Doubt

Arteta said ahead of this one: “Well, we have to wait until tomorrow, but there is a big possibility that they are available for the game.”

Kai Havertz - Doubt

The same update applies.

Mikel Merino - Out

Merino is not going to miss the rest of the season after a foot fracture. Arteta said after the Spaniard’s surgery: “Well, I think the doctors were really happy the way it went. Yeah, now it starts. Obviously, it's a long process. You're talking about bone healing, so you need to be patient. You respect the timings, and I'm sure Mikel is going to do everything that he possibly can to speed up the process. We're talking about months, whether it's three, four or five, we don't know.”

Max Dowman - Out

Arteta said this week: “Max is still not available. The rest, we will see when we make the medical meeting. He's doing very well. I think he will be with us in a week or so, and then he just needs to pick up the rhythm and be available for us.” Dowman will be another couple of weeks.

Tottenham are said to be ready to swoop for a Crystal Palace star who is heading for an exit this summer. Spurs have a big summer ahead of them, and they do not yet know who will be in charge. Igor Tudor has been hired to oversee things for the rest of the season following Thomas Frank’s departure, but he is unlikely to stay on.

Tudor has a track history of having short spells at clubs, and Tottenham will be another barring an incredible run to finish the season, something this Spurs side does not look capable of.

Tottenham need to improve significantly when it comes to recruitment this summer, with the club having failed in another window in January. Spurs sold Brennan Johnson, suffered a number of injury blows to their attack and still didn’t sign any attackers.

Conor Gallagher was signed, but Tottenham undoubtedly got weaker in the winter window when you consider injuries and exits. It has shown on the pitch, too, with Tottenham struggling mightily for form and dropping to within five points of the relegation zone, and that cost Frank his job.

This summer is going to have to be very different, whoever is handed the head coach role, and according to SportsBoom, Spurs are eyeing a smart move to kick things off, with Crystal Palace star Daichi Kamada being linked.

The midfielder is out of contract this summer, and he is said to have told the Eagles he won’t be signing a new deal, with manager Oliver Glasner also leaving. Spurs are said to be interested, while AC Milan are also said to be eyeing a potential move.

Kamada has been a vital player for Palace, and he played a key role in their FA Cup success last season. The 29-year-old can play as an out-and-out midfielder or an attacking midfielder, and he would arrive as a proven Premier League player who has been a guaranteed starter when fit at Selhurst Park.

The latest edition of the North London derby is almost upon us, with Tottenham and Arsenal going head-to-head in the home of the former this Sunday. Spurs kick off their new igor Tudor regime in this one, and they are in desperate need of points to pull away from the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Arsenal need to set the record straight after a bruising late draw with Wolves that felt like a momentum-crusher in their Premier League title bid.

This could be an impactful game for both the title race and the relegation battle. Ahead of what should be another juicy derby, we have rounded up the predictions from BBC Sport’s Chris Sutton and SportsKeeda’s Paul Merson.

Paul Merson

“I'm sitting here and I don't know what happens in this game! I thought I'd never say that, but it is what it is. It was one of Arsenal's worst ever games against Wolves. There were no patterns of play and they never looked like their usual self. Tottenham have a new manager and it's basically a free swing for them in the derby now. If Tottenham lose, no one cares. The pressure is on Arsenal and if Newcastle lose to City, it just adds to it.

“I find it strange that Eberechi Eze did not start as the no.10 against Wolves. He was brought in to do that. Then why did he not start the game? Mikel Arteta used Bukayo Saka as a no.10 instead. He's not suited to play there because he's a proper winger.

“Noni Madueke also started against Wolves and he's very hot and cold. He will do something amazing and the next thing he does would make you go, 'why did he do that?'. Madueke is very direct but he has to mix it up. You can't be direct all the time. He has still done better than what I expected this season though.

“I won't be surprised if Saka goes to the wing and Eze comes on for Madueke in this game. For me, Eze has to play as the no.10 against Spurs. He's good in tight spaces and is better than Saka in that role. I'm expecting Arsenal to win but I won't be shocked if they failed to either. It just seems like they can't open teams up anymore. Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Arsenal.”

Chris Sutton

“From what I've read about new Tottenham manager Igor Tudor, he is a guy who goes in at clubs and, in the short term, gets a turn out of his team. Spurs really need that to happen now, because they desperately need a win or two to get out of reach of relegation.

“So, this game is big for them for that reason, and also because they can put another dent in Arsenal's title hopes too. Spurs and their fans have not had a lot to shout about this season, but if they can get something here then this could be a defining moment in their campaign, and affect Arsenal as well. They would love that.

“It was an incredible wobble by Mikel Arteta's team against Wolves, drawing 2-2 after being 2-0 up, and I certainly didn't see it coming. Maybe it is getting to be 'squeaky bum time' for them, but it didn't affect them when they went away to Leeds a couple of weeks ago and won convincingly.

“You can imagine how Spurs will be champing at the bit, and I am expecting them to make a fast start and have a real go at them - but Arsenal have to deal with that, and find a way of bouncing back. I think the Gunners can do that, and their quality will make the difference in the end. I worry about Spurs in forward areas and it will be interesting to see how Tudor lines them up in defence too.

“Ultimately, if Arsenal turn up and play how we know they can, then they will win - and I am expecting them to make a real statement. Prediction: 0-3.”

Tottenham have been handed some concerning transfer news as they prepare for a huge North London derby clash with Arsenal. Spurs are not only preparing for an important derby that is another key game in their battle with relegation, but they are also preparing to start a new era of sorts.

Ivan Tudor will take charge of his first game since arriving on an interim deal, taking over from Thomas Frank. Much has been made of Tudor’s arrival, with the former Juventus boss seemingly in a tough situation after a not so memorable spell in Italy.

Tudor won the Juve job on a full-time basis after coming in and guiding them to a top four finish, but he was sacked after a disappointing start to this season. That record is likely to lead Spurs to avoiding any permanent offer, and so there is limited upside to this role as far as Tudor is concerned.

The minimum expected is for him to guide Tottenham to safety, and given the level of this squad and the injury issues, it’s likely the best he can be expected to achieve is a mid-table finish and perhaps a Champions League quarter-final berth.

What would be helpful is to get off to a good start, and in the North London derby, no less. But ahead of the game, a concerning claim has emerged concerning goalkeeper Gugliemo Vicario, who is being linked with a move to Inter Milan.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Vicario is plenty interested in a move to Inter. He said on his YouTube channel: “Vicario is very high on Inter’s list. There is total openness from Vicario towards Inter. He’s fully open to joining the Inter project.”

Inter seem to be intent on replacing Yann Sommer after this season, and the links with Vicario just won’t go away. Spurs may be well served attempting to find a replacement ahead of time, with Antonin Kinsky not likely to be seen as ready to play in that number one role.

Arteta said earlier in the week: “Kai is the other one, again for the weekend; he is a possibility.”
