Description

Destiny Udogie underwent surgery late last season, and Spurs fans should not expect to see the Italian back in action just yet.

Udogie won’t play against Hearts

Tottenham players are back in training now as pre-season gets underway, and they have a friendly coming up against Scottish side, Hearts, this week. But, sadly, Udogie will not be playing a part in that game.

That’s according to a report from Football.London detailing all the players likely to be involved in the behind-closed-doors friendly, in which there is an update on Udogie’s current condition.

The report states Udogie is “not expected to be fit” enough to take part in the friendly against Hearts on Wednesday.

Instead, the full-back will “continue his rehabilitation” and will likely have to sit this one out. Whether Udogie is ready for Tottenham’s next game, the friendly against QPR on Saturday, remains to be seen.

Udogie received surgery on his left quadriceps after picking up an injury at the end of April, and was unable to feature in Spurs’ final games of the season, and also missed out on Euro 2024 with Italy.

MORE SPURS STORIES

How bad is Udogie’s situation?

Speaking to Tottenham News shortly after Udogie’s surgery, injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar cast uncertainty over Udogie’s path to recovery, stating the young defender could end up training alone for quite some time.

Udogie enjoyed a brilliant first season in the Premier League, registering two goals and three assists across 30 appearances for the Lilywhites (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no need to rush Udogie back, especially just for a behind-closed-doors friendly.

He’ll be back when he’s ready, and I’m sure he will be playing at top level again once the season begins properly in August.

Hopefully, he can do even better this season now he’s got that experience under his belt.

Description

It is not exactly a secret, but Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are tracking a highly-rated Premier League winger this summer, but he insists it will not be a simple deal to conclude.

Spurs want Eze, but Palace don’t want to lose him

After weeks of speculation, Spurs do not appear to be any closer to signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace yet, but Romano’s latest comments to GiveMeSport suggest there is real intent from the Lilywhites to make a deal happen.

Romano said: “For Eze, for sure, he’s one of the players they have on the list. For sure, they appreciate the player, but the real issue is about the release clause, with the main part of the clause being paid in one solution immediately to Crystal Palace.

“That’s why it’s not kind of an easy deal on the club side. We know the clauses at Palace are always kind of complicated. We also saw that with Michael Olise in the last year. But Eze, for sure, is a player on Tottenham’s list. Let’s see if they will be able to make it happen.”

It is thought Eze’s release clause stands at £60m plus a further £8m in add-ons.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs are not alone in pursuit of Eze

According to journalist, Ben Jacobs, in an appearance on The Last Word on Spurs, the Lilywhites are plotting a move for Eze once he is back from Euro 2024.

And, despite interest from Arsenal and Manchester City, it is Spurs who are the most determined to make a transfer happen.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would really like us to sign Eberechi Eze, but the fee does seem like it will be too high for us to pay, especially in one lump sum. I’d love to be proven wrong, but I think we will try and find a cheaper option.

Report: Spurs are one of four PL sides looking at French talent as 'bidding war' begins

Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for a new winger this summer, and one young talent they’re targeting is attracting attention from a whole host of big clubs across Europe.

Spurs have a strong desire for Doue

According to the latest from HITC, the bidding war for Desire Doue has begun, and Tottenham will have to fight off competition from big rivals at home and abroad if they are to sign the young Frenchman this summer.

The report claims Doue’s future will be decided in the “coming weeks,” and names Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle as his suitors in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have already made their first offer for the 19-year-old, which has been rejected, and PSG are also thought to be in the hunt.

Bayern made the “first move” for Doue, but their offer of £29m fell short of Rennes’ valuation, which is closer to £42m “in the current market.”

It is believed PSG are “pushing hard” to sign the winger and are ready to “rival” the German giants.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Rennes are also thought to be “in talks with a number of Premier League sides,” with Spurs among the group of teams hoping to “join the bidding” for Doue.

Doue himself is expected to be open to a move to the Premier League if a “suitable enough offer” comes in this summer.

Spurs sparked into action over Desire Doue

Earlier this week it was claimed that Spurs would be pushing ahead with a move for Doue after seeing Bayern Munich’s failed attempt to sign the Rennes star (L’Equipe).

According to a report from The Sun, Spurs will also have to beat Chelsea and Manchester United to the signing of Doue, as the teenage star becomes one of the most coveted players in Europe.

Spurs Web Opinion

If all these clubs are genuinely interested in Doue, there’s no way we’re getting him. Not because we can’t compete in terms of the project we can offer him, but because Rennes will no doubt ramp up the price tag on the player and we will very likely back out and look for cheaper options.

Tottenham Hotspur may be looking to sign one of their former players, but they would have to beat Crystal Palace to the transfer this summer.

Is Marcus Edwards coming home?

It has long been suggested that Marcus Edwards could return to Tottenham, but now, it seems Crystal Palace are pushing to sign the player from Sporting Lisbon while Spurs are still keeping an eye on the situation.

That’s according to the latest from Football Insider, with a report claiming Tottenham are “keeping tabs” on the winger as Palace “ready an offer” this summer.

It is thought Edwards himself is “open” to a return to the Premier League, and Palace are obviously looking to replace Michael Olise, who is starting a new chapter at Bayern Munich.

Regardless of this interest, it is believed Spurs “could be a rival” to the Eagles and they have already “asked to be kept informed” on the Edwards situation.

No “formal move” has been made by the Lilywhites, but they are “monitoring” the matter closely.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs could have the upper hand

Edwards began his career with Spurs, but only made one senior appearance for the North Londoners. He spent time on loan at Norwich and in the Netherlands, before joining Vitoria Guimaraes on a permanent basis in 2019.

He then moved to Sporting Lisbon in 2022, and has flourished for the Portuguese giants over the last two years, attracting plenty of attention.

Spurs hold a 35% sell-on clause on Edwards, which means they could either sign him cheaper than most sides this summer, or benefit from any sale should they not be the ones to secure his signature.

Whether Edwards would want to go back to Spurs or not remains to be seen, though it is believed he is ‘enthusiastic’ about the idea of a reunion in N17 (Record).

Spurs Web Opinion

This one is a win-win for Spurs, really. We either want Edwards back and we get him for a really low price, or we see him join Palace and we pocket some cash.

As Tottenham Hotspur look to move on players this summer, it appears they have grown frustrated with one club’s reluctance to meet the asking price for a peripheral figure in Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Spurs and AC Milan are at a standstill over Royal

Emerson Royal is almost certain to leave Tottenham this summer, but whether he ends up at AC Milan or not remains to be seen.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the chances of that move happening could be fading, as the Italians are still short of the valuation Spurs have placed on Royal.

Romano tweeted: “Understand talks between AC Milan and Tottenham for Emerson Royal are currently in standby.

“Negotiations have gone cold after Spurs rejecting two approaches and still asking for more than €20m fee. Milan and Spurs are not advancing, at this stage.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Emerson Royal wants AC Milan move

Just last week, Royal himself openly revealed he is keen to join AC Milan, and the Italian giants have been locked in negotiations for the Brazilian for some time now (Globo).

It is thought an ‘offer is on the table’ already, that personal terms have been agreed, and that Milan boss, Paulo Fonseca has personally been speaking to Royal (The Last Word on Spurs).

If a move to Milan doesn’t come to fruition, though, it seems Royal will have other options. Apparently, Borussia Dortmund are also keen on the 25-year-old (Alasdair Gold).

Meanwhile, Gazzetta dello Sport claim an unnamed Saudi club are prepared to make a move for Royal and would be willing to quadruple the defender’s wages.

Spurs Web Opinion

It would be a real shame if Royal didn’t get his move to Milan, as it’s the one he clearly prefers.

Still, Dortmund are a huge team and that would be a great transfer for him, too. Either way, he’s in a good spot.

Report: AC Milan look at other options after Spurs 'ask too much' for Emerson Royal

Description

The Italian giants have been long reported admirers of the Brazilian right-back, making a formal offer last week, which was rebuffed by Tottenham as it was short of their €20 million valuation.

Emerson expressed his desire to move to AC Milan

The Rossoneri had long been reported to be interested in signing Tottenham right-back, Emerson Royal, who only started eleven Premier League games for Ange Postecoglou last season. (TransferMarkt)

It was first reported all the way back in May by Fabrizio Romano that Spurs would have a number of exits this summer, with Emerson expected to be one of them and that AC Milan had the Brazilian high on their list of right-back options.

The player himself confirmed the speculation that AC Milan were moving towards signing Emerson, stating to Andre Hernan that ‘they [Milan] are looking for information on me’ claiming the interest is ‘very gratifying’.

Emerson doubled down on leaving Spurs weeks later explaining to Globo ‘I’m not a player to sit on the bench, I want to play. If not here [Spurs] I understand. but let me go to a place where I can play’.

MORE SPURS STORIES

AC Milan are looking elsewhere after Spurs rejection

Alasdair Gold confirmed on the 12th of June that Spurs turned down an opening offer from AC Milan for Emerson with the bid being short of the club’s €20 million valuation, Borussia Dortmund were also revealed to be interested now in the right-back.

A new report from Gazzetta Dello Sport revealed that Tottenham aren’t offering much of a chance for Milan to now sign Emerson with the Italian outlet claiming Spurs are asking too much for the ex-Barcelona defender.

Tottenham are reportedly aware of interest in Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia who are believed to increase Emerson’s salary significantly and likely to have no issues in getting an agreement with Spurs considering the eyewatering fees that have been frequently synonymous with Saudi clubs.

Gazzetta reports that Milan are now looking at both the blue and red side at Manchester to possibly sign Man City’s Issa Kabore or Manchester United’s Aaron Wan Bissaka as an alternative.

Spurs Web opinion

Tottenham and Levy are well within their rights to stick to their demands of €20 million after Emerson was a part of the Brazil set-up until recently, has Premier League experience and came through at Barcelona.

Although Emerson has his limitations, he can still be a decent-level right-back for a team that is less reliant on its full-backs.

AC Milan showed a long-term interest in Tanganga a few years ago without a move coming to fruition and Tottenham shouldn’t wait around for the Italian side to secure a deal for Emerson.

According to TEAMtalk, Crystal Palace are now considering a move to sign Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville, who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham this summer.

Summerville impressed for Leeds last season

Summerville was one of the best attackers on show across the Championship last season, with the skilful winger scoring 21 times and providing 10 assists across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

It was first reported by HITC back in April that Tottenham and several other Premier League clubs were eyeing a move for the Dutchman.

The report also named the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and West Ham United as admirers of the pacy 22-year-old.

It also emerged last month that Brighton had begun talks with Leeds over a deal to take the wide-man to the Amex Stadium (Fabrizio Romano).

MORE SPURS STORIES

Crystal Palace enter the race for Summerville

If TEAMtalk’s latest update is to be believed, Palace could be the first side to make a move for Summerville.

The report says that Oliver Glasner’s men are on the lookout for an ‘electric forward’ to replace Michael Olise, with last season’s Championship Player of the Year being one of the options in their sights.

However, it is explained that the Eagles feel that the Leeds star’s natural position is on the left and he thus not be the like-for-like replacement they need for Olise.

Finally, the publication adds that Daniel Farke’s men will consider any offer that comes their way for Summerville, who is valued by the Yorkshire club at around £30m.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham would likely want a winger who would instantly improve their starting eleven and Summerville is not guaranteed to do that.

A signing like Pedro Neto is what Ange will be eyeing to add more directness and threat to his frontline.

O'Hara would love to see Spain hero come to Tottenham

Description

Jamie O’Hara has said that he would be over the moon if Tottenham were to somehow pull off a deal to sign Spain’s Euro 2024 hero, Nico Williams.

Nico Williams was Spain’s star in the final

Williams had already built a reputation as one of the best young wingers in world football prior to the Euros and his displays in Germany have seen his stock grow even further, with the 22-year-old playing a key role in La Roja’s march to the title.

The Telegraph revealed back in April that Spurs were part of a group of Premier League clubs who were interested in the 21-year-old, who is reported to have a £42.8 million buyout clause in his deal at Athletic Club Bilbao.

The likes of Aston Villa and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the pacy wide-man (Football Insider) while Chelsea have also been named as a potential contender for the player’s signature (The Standard).

Barcelona look favourite to sign Nico Williams

However, over recent days, Barcelona have emerged as the frontrunner to land Williams, with reports indicating that the winger has expressed his intention to move to Camp Nou this summer (Mundo Deportivo).

MORE SPURS STORIES

O’Hara admitted that he would love it if Spurs were somehow able to pull off a deal for the Spain international.

When a Tottenham fan, who called in, said on talkSPORT: “Jamie, there’s a rumour that Nico Williams is coming to Spurs,” O’Hara responded: “Yeah, I would love him, of course. A brilliant player.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Any chance Tottenham had of landing Williams seems to be over on the back of his performances in Germany.

A number of big clubs across Europe would now enter the race for the 22-year-old and Athletic Club are likely to significantly increase their asking price.

According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are continuing to hold talks over a deal to sign Rennes starlet Desire Doue.

Desire Doue is a popular target this summer

Doue’s stock has risen massively over the last 12 months, with the attacking midfielder now widely viewed as one of the best young players in French football.

The interest in the 19-year-old’s services appears to be heating up, with The Sun revealing over the weekend that Spurs, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are battling it out for the player’s signature.

The report claimed that the Bavarian club had an offer of around £30m turned down by Rennes for the teenager.

Spurs and Chelsea holding talks over Doue

CaughtOffside have now named the same four clubs as the leading contenders to land Doue.

MORE SPURS STORIES

They say that the two London sides are currently locked in talks with Rennes to find out information about the deal but neither side have pressed ahead with an offer.

Meanwhile, it is revealed that PSG are soon expected to begin talks with their fellow Ligue 1 side regarding the youngster’s availability.

Finally, the publication adds that Rennes have made it clear to interested clubs that it would take an offer of around €50m (£42m) to prise Doue away from Roazhon Park.

Spurs Web Opinion

I get the feeling that Tottenham are doing their groundwork on this deal as a contingency in case their pursuit of Eberechi Eze fails.

I suspect the Palace star continues to remain at the top of Ange Postecoglou’s wishlist.

Description

According to HITC, Atletico Madrid have now expressed an interest in signing Tottenham target Ivan Toney this summer.

Ivan Toney could be on the move this summer

With the Euros now over, the report says that Toney is now expected to sort out his future as he has just a year left on his current deal at the Brentford Community Stadium.

It is explained that the striker has already turned down several contract offers from the Bees and has made it clear that he wants to seek a fresh challenge.

Several Premier League sides, including Spurs, have allegedly asked about the centre-forward’s availability this summer but no one has substantiated their interest so far.

Brentford want £60m to sell Ivan Toney

This is thought to be because of Brentford’s unwillingness to reduce their asking price, with the club insisting on a £60m fee for their star man.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The outlet claims that Atletico Madrid have now become the latest club to join in the hunt for Toney’s signature over recent days.

Diego Simeone’s men are said to be on the lookout for a new number nine after selling Alvaro Morata to AC Milan.

The publication adds that they have now launched an enquiry about Toney and could be prepared to test Brentford’s resolve.

Spurs Web Opinion

I cannot see Atletico, Spurs or anyone else paying £60m for Toney, given his contract situation.

One would expect Brentford to soften their stance over the coming weeks as they would have no other choice.
