Description

According to Florian Plettenberg, rumoured Tottenham target Chris Fuhrich can be signed for a cut-price fee for the next eight days due to a clause in the Stuttgart player’s contract.

A whole host of wide-men have been mooted as targets for Spurs over the last few months and one of the names mentioned is Chris Fuhrich, who has evolved into a consistent performer since his move to the MHP Arena two and a half years ago.

It was reported by Christian Falk a few days ago that Tottenham had been impressed by the 26-year-old’s displays and are set to battle Bayern Munich for the player’s signature.

The journalist asserted that the attacker, who scored nine goals and provided seven assists across all competitions last season, has a release clause of €23.5m (£19.8m) in his contract.

The speculation linking Fuhrich to Spurs has since gone quiet but Plettenberg has now taken to social media to provide an update on the 26-year-old’s future.

He claimed that the German international’s release clause would be valid until July 19, after which any interested club would have to negotiate a deal with Stuttgart.

MORE SPURS STORIES

He adds that while the Bundesliga club can sign Fuhrich for €20m until that day, Premier League and Serie A sides would have to pay around €23m-€25m for the winger.

Spurs Web Opinion

While several clubs would be tempted to make a move for Fuhrich, given the modest release clause, Tottenham now need a game-changing signing in attack.

We need a wide-forward who would instantly elevate the quality of our starting eleven and the Stuttgart man is not at that level.

Multiple Spanish outlets are now reporting that Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on landing Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia and are currently in pole position to secure his services.

Tottenham are linked with move for goalkeeper

Garcia played a key role in helping Espanyol win promotion back to La Liga last season and the shot-stopper’s displays have seemingly caught the attention of a number of clubs.

It has now been reported by AS that he is being ‘followed extremely closely’ by Tottenham, Real Madrid and Arsenal.

The report revealed that the goalkeeper’s €25m release clause is ‘juicy’ for the Premier League sides, who would have no issues in activating it.

Real Madrid also hold an interest in Garcia

Meanwhile, El Desmarque also name the same three clubs as the leading contenders for Garcia’s signature this summer, claiming that Real Madrid face ‘stiff competition’ from the two North London sides.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The outlet suggests that the Lilywhites are now leading the race for the 23-year-old, having already reached out to Espanyol regarding a summer deal.

The publication adds that Spurs ‘could definitely go for’ Garcia, who has allegedly been identified by Ange Postecoglou’s men as someone who can offer competition to Guglielmo Vicario next season.

Spurs Web Opinion

With next season likely to be Fraser Forster’s last at Tottenham, I can understand why the club would want to future-proof that position by landing a talented young goalkeeper. However, it would make little sense for Spurs to shell out €25m on a number two.

Brandon Austin recently signed a new contract at the club and it would make sense for him to head out on loan this season to assess whether he is capable of stepping up to the understudy role in the future.

Lucas Bergvall has admitted that the first few days of training at Tottenham have been challenging but revealed that they have also been thoroughly enjoyable.

Bergvall has had his first taste of pre-season at Tottenham

Bergvall is widely seen as the best young talent to have emerged out of Swedish football in recent years and the youngster continued turning heads with his performances for Djurgardens over the past few months.

Tottenham fans are thus excited to see what the 18-year-old can do in a Spurs shirt and they do not need to wait for long, with the youngster now training under the watchful eyes of Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff as the preparations are underway ahead of the new campaign.

Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe revealed on The Last World on Spurs podcast last month that the Lilywhites do not plan on sending the midfielder out on loan, with the newcomer expected to have a first-team role next season.

Lucas Bergvall is enjoying his time at Tottenham

The Swede has now reflected on his first few days at Hotspur Way, remarking that he is keen to get to know all of his new teammates.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Bergvall told the club’s official website: “It’s going really well, this is a fantastic club with amazing players and amazing staff, so I’m really happy to be here and start pre-season.

“Training has been really good, tough as well, so much speed and power. So, yes, it’s been tough, totally different from Sweden, but it’s fun as well. It’s a really important time for me, important to get to know everyone before the season starts so we can form that good connection.”

Spurs Web Opinion

The step up in speed, intensity and physicality would be considerable compared to the Swedish top flight and it will undoubtedly take Bergvall at least a few months to find his feet and make a mark.

Description

It has emerged that Tottenham Hotspur might have even more competition to contend with in the race for Jonathan David’s signature, with Newcastle United being the latest club to express interest in the Lille star.

Spurs could face Newcastle battle for Jonathan David

David, who is into the final year of his contract at Stade Pierre-Mauroy, has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs, with various outlets over the last few weeks naming the Lilywhites as one of the front-runners for the 24-year-old (90 min).

However, GiveMeSport have now suggested that Newcastle have now set their sights on the Canadian international.

The report explains that Eddie Howe is keen on adding more firepower to his forward line and it is expected to become a ‘pressing priority’ if Callum Wilson departs the club.

David is expected to leave Lille this summer

The Magpies had allegedly shown interest in Dominic Calvert-Lewin but they have been unable to agree personal terms with the Everton man.

As a result, they have now expressed an interest in David, who is thought to be available for a fee of just around £25m due to his contract situation.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, the publication adds that Newcastle are aware that they would have to battle Tottenham and Chelsea for the former Gent man’s signature.

Spurs Web Opinion

Among the strikers currently on the market, David is evidently the best option, given his goalscoring exploits, age and Lille’s modest asking price.

There is undoubtedly going to be a massive battle for the 24-year-old’s signature over the coming weeks once his involvement at Copa America ends this weekend.

Description

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have told rumoured Tottenham transfer target Federico Chiesa to either agree to a salary cut or depart the club.

Chiesa‘s future at Juventus hangs in the balance at the moment, with the winger now into the final year of his deal and various sources suggesting that he is not central to the plans of new manager Thiago Motta (Fabrizio Romano).

Tottenham have been named as one of the leading contenders to land the 26-year-old (GiveMeSport) but it has emerged over recent days that the Italian international is not in a hurry to make a decision on his future and is open to remaining with the Bianconeri (Sky Sport Italia via Roma Press).

Juve’s ultimatum

Gazzetta have now said that Juve have now made it clear that they want a decision from Chiesa soon on his future.

The report claims that the Old Lady want the former Fiorentina man to leave if he does not agree to sign a new contract which would see his salary being reduced from €6m per year to €5m.

The publication also reveals that Juve previously tried to use Chiesa in a player-plus-cash swap deal for Jadon Sancho but Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is taking his time to consider the potential swap.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Chiesa does decide to leave Juve, I would expect plenty of Premier League clubs to vie for the winger’s signature.

Hiis salary is on the higher side, which might put off Tottenham, despite Juve’s modest asking price.

Description

According to a report in The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are now considering a move for Palmeiras Marcus Vinnicius, who is seen as one of the best young players in his age group in Brazil.

Tottenham have an eye for promising talent in recent times

Vinnicius, who has turned a lot of heads with his performances in youth football, is now being backed to make a move to Europe, with Spurs named as one of the clubs keen on acquiring his services.

The report says Ange Postecoglou’s side are monitoring the 17-year-old closely, with the versatile left-sided player said to have caught the eye of the scouts from the North London club.

The outlet explains that Tottenham’s recruitment drive is currently focused on young talents and Vinniciusis now one of the latest names on the club’s agenda.

However, Spurs are not the only eyes eyeing a move for the teenager, who is also said to be attracting interest from the likes of Wolves, Newcastle, and Benfica.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Marcus Vinnicius is wanted by Tottenham

It is revealed that the youngster, who can operate at left-back or on the wing is set to sign his first professional contract with Palmeiras, with the Brazilian club open to cashing in on the player.

After selling the likes of Endrick, Luis Guilherme and Estevao Willian to European clubs recently, Palmeiras allegedly view Vinicius as the next big cash cow who can rake in big money.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Tottenham have not historically tended to sign players straight from South American football, the club’s policy has clearly changed under the new regime as they demonstrated with their acquisition of Alejo Veliz last summer.

Frustratingly for Veliz, his loan spell at Sevilla failed to give him any sort of chance to continue his first-team footballing education.

price transfer fee for unwanted defender

Following his loan spells to Brentford and Manchester United, Tottenham are willing to accept a big loss upon their initial investment for Sergio Reguilon.

Reguilon hasn’t played for Tottenham in two years

There was plenty of excitement when Spurs initially forked out around £25 million to sign Reguilon from Real Madrid (TransferMarkt), just weeks after the Spaniard had won the Europa League during his successful loan with Sevilla.

Mourinho and Tottenham welcomed Reguilon as well as Gareth Bale in the same week, with many fans feeling it was a statement double-deal from the club.

Reguilon struggled to nail down a spot in the team and departed on loan to Atletico Madrid in the 2022/23 season after the left-back had fallen behind Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon in the pecking order under Antonio Conte.

Reguilon ended his season playing consistent Premier League football this season while on loan with Brentford for the second half of the season after Manchester United terminated his loan in January.

According to AS in Spain, Ten Hag would be keen to sign the defender this summer with West Ham and Juventus also reportedly sniffing around the 27-year-old.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham have loosened their demands for Reguilon

It appears as though a move for Reguilon could be financially viable for the Red Devils too as Football Insider reports that Daniel Levy, perhaps uncharacteristically, is willing to accept a cut-price of £10 million for the full back this summer.

Spurs are believed to be keen to get Reguilon’s, whose wage according to Capology is £53,000-a-week, off the books with the ex-Real Madrid player only having a year left on his deal and therefore being able to depart for free next summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Reguilon’s energy when he first signed for Spurs gave me promise that the player, who was only 23 when signed, would develop and be moulded into a top-level left back.

Unfortunately, I think Reguilon has been a victim of the revolving door of managers at Spurs with Antonio Conte’s three-back system effectively leaving Reguilon with no option but to depart on loan.

This summer is however Tottenham’s last chance to cash in which they must now feel they can do with his decent performances for Brentford and Manchester United keeping the Spaniard’s market value.

Report: La Liga side 'would love' to sign Spurs player this summer

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have plenty of players they’d probably like to sell this summer, and it just so happens that one Spanish side are very keen to sign a member of the Spurs squad.

Hojbjerg could be among Atletico Madrid’s summer business

Atletico Madrid boss, Diego Simeone, is eager to upgrade his midfield options and has his eye on a number of targets for that position, with one of them being Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The La Liga outfit, according to the latest from Mundo Deportivo, have a shortlist of four names: Mikel Merino, Conor Gallagher, Manuel Ugarte, and Hojbjerg.

But, while Real Sociedad star, Merino, is thought to be the number one target, there is a belief that Madrid may be looking to sign two midfielders, with a defensive midfielder a high priority.

That’s where Hojbjerg comes in. Merino can play a more defensive role but it’s not his preference, and it is believed Simeone “would love to have” a player like Hojbjerg, who operates in a far deeper position.

The report adds that Spurs are ready to sell the Danish midfielder this summer, and the player himself is prepared to move on, too.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Hojbjerg will have options this summer

It has long been thought that Hojbjerg would be heading for the exit door this summer, given his reduced playing time at Spurs under Ange Postecoglou.

Reports from Football Insider earlier this week claimed Atletico Madrid would face competition from Borussia Dortmund as the two clubs most interested in securing Hojbjerg’s services.

Spurs Web Opinion

Hojbjerg appears to be in high demand this summer, and should have some pretty nice options if all goes well.

I can’t imagine it taking too long for a transfer to go ahead now really, as a move would benefit all parties greatly; particularly Hojbjerg, who must be desperate to resolve his future.

According to 90min, Tottenham Hotspur are one of two front-runners at the moment in the race for Lille striker Jonathan David.

Jonathan David has a year left on his Lille contract

With David having entered into the final year of his contract at Lille, he has been widely backed to leave the Stade Pierre Mauroy, with the Premier League being mooted as his most likely destination this summer.

This is according to some reports over the last few weeks, including The Guardian, who revealed previously that Tottenham, Manchester United, Chelsea and West Ham are all keen on securing the Canadian international’s signature.

The report asserted that the prolific Ligue 1 star could be available for as little as £20m due to his contract situation.

Tottenham and Chelsea have ‘concrete’ interest in David

MORE SPURS STORIES

The report reveals that West Ham also have their eye on the 24-year-old but they are thought to currently trail their two London rivals in the race.

The publication adds that for the moment, the Hammers are prioritising a deal for Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran, who is said to be intent on leaving Villa Park.

Spurs Web Opinion

Canada’s Copa America campaign will conclude this Saturday after the third-place playoff match against Uruguay and I would expect the talks over David’s future to accelerate over the following days.

Report: PL club have no immediate plan of selling midfielder despite Spurs admiration

Description

According to HITC, despite Tottenham Hotspur and a number of the Premier League’s biggest clubs having expressed an interest in signing Joao Gomes, Wolves are in no hurry to sell the midfielder at the moment.

Joao Gomes is attracting plenty of attention

Gomes enjoyed an impressive debut season in the Premier League following his switch from Flamengo twelve months ago and the 23-year-old is now seemingly a wanted man across England.

HITC have revealed that Tottenham are one of a number of sides who have expressed an interest in securing the Brazil international’s services.

However, having let Max Kilman join West Ham United in a £40m deal earlier this month, it is revealed that Wolves are now reluctant to lose another one of their star men this summer.

The report states that the Molineux outfit are under no immediate pressure to sell Gomes, even though the list of interested clubs keeps on growing.

It is revealed that Tottenham are admirers of the former Flamengo man while Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool have all enquired about his availability.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Finally, the publication adds that Man Utd are also keeping an eye on Gomes’ situation, although the Red Devils are thought to be prioritising a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte at the moment.

Spurs Web Opinion

It seems unlikely that Wolves will let Max Kilman, Pedro Neto and Joao Gomes leave in the same window, particularly now that the deadline for the PSR calculations has passed.

I would expect Wolves to value the young midfielder at over £40m which would give Spurs a decision to make since they are hardly likely to spend £60m on Eberechi Eze and over £40m on Gomes in the same window.
