Report: Manchester United have held internal ‘talks’ for Spurs-linked striker - The Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur had better move fast if they want to secure the signing of one of their top targets, as Manchester United have also been discussing the same striker ‘internally’ already this summer.

Can Spurs win the race for Ivan Toney?

The latest transfer roundup from The Athletic offers plenty of discussion on Manchester United’s plans to sign a new striker this summer, and it seems they are at least considering a move for Ivan Toney.

United have made “progress in negotiations” for Bologna attacker, Joshua Zirkee, there is a belief that he “might not be the only addition” the Red Devils bring in to bolster their forward line.

While “major sales would need to take place” before any other transfer could happen, it is believed that, “internally, talks have taken place about Ivan Toney” for United.

Erik ten Hag’s side are thought to be thinking about both Toney and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who both have just one year left on their current contracts.

Toney is expected to be valued at around £60m, but there is a possibility Brentford “might accept a figure closer to £40m.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham have long been linked with Toney, who has made no secret about his desire to leave Brentford this summer.

Toney has been named as one of the two top targets for Spurs this summer in the forward area, along with Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez (GiveMeSport).

The England international has scored 36 goals in 83 Premier League games for Brentford over the last three years (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

I really cannot see Manchester United being able to sanction a move for both Joshua Zirkee and Ivan Toney (or any other attacker for that matter).

I expect Spurs to make serious progress on a deal for Toney once he’s wrapped up at Euro 2024 with England.

Romano – Liverpool have held ‘several meetings’ with agent of Tottenham target - The Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have already brought in three players so far during the transfer window and could face a battle for one of their rumoured targets.

Fabrizio Romano has said that Liverpool have stepped up their pursuit of Atalanta midfielder Ederson, with the Reds thought to have held multiple meetings with his representatives.

Over the summer, Tottenham have been mentioned as a club who have Ederson as one of their defensive midfield options on their shopping list ahead of the new campaign.

This includes an update by The Daily Mirror, who claimed that Spurs’ pursuit of the 24-year-old has become more difficult after Atalanta won the Europa League.

It was said that the Serie A club would receive a financial boost after qualifying for the Champions League, thus meaning that they are less desperate to sell their main assets.

Liverpool and Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest in the Brazilian (Jorge Nicola), who, by some accounts, is thought to be valued by Atalanta at around €40m (TuttoJuve).

MORE SPURS STORIES

Romano has now revealed that the Reds have already made advances towards the midfielder, although they are yet to submit an official offer.

Liverpool have held multiple talks with Ederson’s agents

The journalist told Playback: “I would not be surprised if Liverpool go for a midfielder this summer because, for example, they have had several meetings and contacts with the agents of Ederson from Atalanta.

“He is one of the players that Liverpool considered in the midfield, but never sent a proposal, also because they know it’s going to be difficult, it’s going to be complicated.”

Tottenham are likely to part company with one of their current midfield options with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who is in the last year of his contract, tipped to depart N17.

Spurs Web Opinion

It appears as if Tottenham might have abandoned their pursuit of Ederson, with the speculation having died down over the last month or so.

Perhaps, Spurs reached out to Atalanta and found that the Serie A club had no intention of coming to the negotiating table.

Ederson would be exactly the type of signing that Tottenham need to fill the number six role with Yves Bissouma having struggled in the position and is more suited to playing further up the pitch.

Reporter: Spurs now have two targets in mind as Harry Kane replacement - The Spurs Web
Description

It is suspected Tottenham Hotspur will look to sign a new striker this summer, and it seems the North London side have narrowed down their search to just two candidates.

Tottenham are still yet to replace Harry Kane

According to Football Insider reporter, Pete O’Rourke, Spurs are now looking at Ivan Toney of Brentford, and Santiago Gimenez, who flourished for Feyenoord last season.

It is claimed Spurs view the striker position as a “key area” they need to improve this summer and that they have been looking at this “for some time” now.

Tottenham regard both Toney and Gimenez as “ideal replacements” for Harry Kane, who joined Bayern Munich last summer.

Apparently, the Lilywhites have Gimenez on their list as a “long term target,” but they also view Toney’s “proven Premier League experience” as a big positive, too.

Sources suggest Toney will be allowed to leave Brentford this summer “if his price tag is met,” given he has just one year left on his current contract.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Heung-min Son mostly played the central role last season

The report adds that a third option for Tottenham could be to move Heung-min Son into a striker role next season, and sign a new wide player instead. That will all depend on budget, it seems.

Toney is expected to cost around £60m and Brentford are keen to cash in before his contract runs down (Sky Sports).

Gimenez, meanwhile, is regarded as a ‘top target’ for Spurs, but they will face competition from Italian giants AC Milan (Tuttosport via MilanNews).

Spurs Web Opinion

After seeing Toney make an impact at Euro 2024 in the short amount of time he’s been given, I’m more convinced he is the man to lead the line for Spurs.

He’s the perfect forward for our system; someone who will stay high, press with energy, and can finish all kinds of chances that come his way.

Report: Tottenham close to wrapping up deal for attacking midfielder - The Spurs Web
Description

Aksam have claimed that Fenerbahce’s Sebastian Szymanski looks set to join Tottenham with the Premier League side said to be close to agreeing a deal for the versatile midfielder.

Szymanski has impressed for Fenerbahce

Szymanski is an attacking midfielder by trade but can also operate in a box-to-box role or out wide and he set Turkish football alight last season, with 13 goals and 19 assists across all competitions.

He has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs all summer and Aksam now claim that the Lilywhites are close to wrapping up the deal to bring him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The report claims that Ange Postecoglou‘s side have been following Szymanski for a long time and are now working to strike a full agreement with Fenerbahce over his transfer.

It is revealed that Spurs have now made an offer of €25m plus bonuses for the midfielder, a figure which the Turkish side are ‘positive about’.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Szymanski represented Poland at Euro 2024

The outlet states the Poland international is expected to complete a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ‘in a short time’.

In fact, it is asserted that Fenerbahce are already drafting plans on how to spend the money that they will pocket from Spurs for the 25-year-old.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham would undoubtedly need to replace Giovani Lo Celso if he leaves but I would have thought that the box would be ticked by signing one of Eberechi Eze or Desire Doue to compete with James Maddison.

This Szymanski story has not been picked up by British outlets yet, which is why Spurs fans must take this report with a pinch of salt.

Teddy Sheringham claims side pulled off a ‘coup’ with player released by Spurs - The Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have already seen a couple of their players leave this summer to take on new challenges in the Championship, and one of those has been regarded as a huge signing for their next club.

Millwall are set to make impressive summer signing

Sheringham began his career at Millwall, before making a name for himself at Spurs and later, Manchester United.

The former striker has been praising his first club, the manager, and the impending signing of Japhet Tanganga.

He told Football League World: “He’s a good young player and coming through the ranks at Spurs is a good sounding board. I trust Neil Harris to do well at Millwall in this spell. He is the right man to lead the club forward.

“He knows a player and knows the type of player who will fit into Millwall and also how the players will perform as a team. So, when you’re bringing in good players to improve the squad – it is a coup for Millwall, but Neil Harris takes credit here.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tanganga impressed on loan at Millwall last season

Tanganga was released by Spurs this summer before joining Millwall on a free transfer. According to Luca Bendoni, the defender has agreed a two-year-deal with the Championship outfit, with the option for a further year.

It was later revealed by Sky Sports reporter, Dharmesh Sheth, that Tanganga will become the highest-paid player at Millwall.

After a disastrous loan spell with German side Augsburg in the first half of last season where he failed to make an appearance, Tanganga made 18 appearances for Millwall and helped them stay up with two goals and a string of top performances (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

I have to admit I was a little surprised Millwall were able to keep Tanganga. I thought a bigger Championship side might sign him, or even one of the promoted teams in the Premier League. But, he obviously enjoyed his time there last year and he should do well there again.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur recently lost the services of Chris Davies following his decision to move into management but have received better news over another member of the club’s staff.

Wales made Davies approach

According to Alasdair Gold, Simon Davies has turned down the chance to join as Wales’ assistant coach in favour of remaining in his current role as Tottenham’s academy director.

Davies joined as Tottenham’s head of the methodology for the Under-21s two years ago before being promoted to the academy director role after that position was vacated by Dean Rastrick last year.

Davies has extensive experience in coaching, having begun his career at Chester City before taking over as assistant manager of Manchester City’s Under-21s back in 2013.

He went on to progress through the ranks at the Etihad, taking over as the club’s head of academy coaching in 2018 and then joined as Vincent Kompany’s assistant at Anderlecht before eventually making the move to North London.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Simon Davies will be remaining at Tottenham

Gold has now revealed that new Wales boss Craig Bellamy came calling for the 50-year-old, offering him the role of assistant coach.

Bellamy succeeds Rob Page who was sacked last month as Wales manager after turning down the opportunity to stay at Burnley under new boss Scott Parker.

However, the journalist explained that Davies has decided against taking up the role and will continue at Tottenham for the time being.

Spurs Web Opinion

This is fantastic news for Tottenham as the academy’s recruitment and player development has been excellent under Davies, with the current crop of Under-18s and Under-21s arguably being the most talented the club have had in a long time.

‘Not good enough’ – Agent suggests Italian club should avoid signing Tottenham man - The Spurs Web
Description

Italian football agent Marco Selvaggi has warned AC Milan against pursuing a deal for Tottenham right-back Emerson Royal, amidst reports that the Italian club’s negotiations with the Lilywhites for the right-back are advancing.

AC Milan have been heavily linked with Emerson Royal

Over the last week, a number of reports from Italy have indicated that Milan are making progress in their efforts to land Emerson, who is said to be the Serie A club’s top right-back target.

This includes a recent update by Gazzetta dello Sport, who claimed that Paulo Fonseca views the Brazilian as the ideal fit for his side and that the player had already agreed on a five-year deal with the Italian club ahead of his move.

Meanwhile, Corriere Dello Sport (via TuttoMercatoWeb) claimed on Monday that Milan had seen their opening offer of €12m turned down by Spurs and are now readying a bid of around €15m as they aim to ‘accelerate’ the negotiations.

Royal’s future at Tottenham looks to be uncertain

However, Selvaggi believes that the Rossoneri would be making a big mistake by signing Emerson, insisting that the Spurs defender is not of the required standard of the Serie A giants.

MORE SPURS STORIES

When asked about Milan’s pursuit of the former Real Betis defender, he told Pianeta Milan: “He is a good player but definitely not Milan-worthy. There are stronger full-backs around.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I am convinced that Emerson will prove a hit in Italy, given the slower pace of the game compared to the demands of the Premier League.

Report: Spurs-linked winger set to seal move to Premier League newcomers - The Spurs Web
Description

According to Football Insider, Ipswich Town are set to win the race for Hull City winger Jaden Philogene, who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur over the last few months.

Philogene has been linked with a move to Tottenham

Philogene enjoyed a brilliant 2023-24 campaign following his move from Aston Villa to Hull 12 months, ago, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists.

A number of outlets over the last few months have reported that Tottenham are keen on securing the 22-year-old’s services (TEAMtalk) while the likes of West Ham United (Football Insider) and Barcelona (Florian Plettenberg) have also been credited with an interest in the player.

Ipswich look set to seal transfer

However, Football Insider have now claimed that Philogene is now bound for Ipswich, with the newly promoted club said to have agreed on a double deal for the winger and his Hull teammate Jacob Greaves for a £35m fee.

The East Anglian club, who finished second in the Championship last season, are thought to be confident that the duo will now arrive at Portman Road Stadium.

MORE SPURS STORIES

In fact, it is said that the pair are soon expected to undergo a medical with the Tractor Boys before signing on the dotted line.

Spurs Web Opinion

I can understand why Philogene would have preferred joining a club like Ipswich Town over the likes of Spurs since he would want to give himself the best chance of getting regular starts next season.

Report: Tottenham are set to sign major money-spinning deal - The Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur may have seen their sponsorship deal with Cinch come to a premature end this summer, but they appear to be on the verge of lining up a new agreement that will bring in even more money.

Tottenham’s new shirt sleeve sponsorship is close

According to a report from Football.London, Spurs are currently in “advanced negotiations” that would see a “huge” deal put in place for their new matchday shirt sleeve sponsors.

The new agreement is expected to be announced “as early as this month,” though the company being lined up is unknown at this moment in time.

Tottenham were three years into a five-year agreement with Cinch, only for the online car sales company decided to trigger an early exit on that contract.

The deal there was thought to be worth around £10m per year for Spurs.

But, losing that deal may not have been the worst thing for the Lilywhites, as any new sponsorship deal “will dwarf” that fee. It is said this new deal will be announced in “the coming weeks.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

The funds will help Tottenham from a FFP perspective

The report adds that Tottenham’s new sponsorship agreements will help them create an even bigger cushion when it comes to the Premier League‘s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

The scale of this new agreement is unknown, but Spurs were in preliminary talks with the South Africa Tourism Board previously, in a deal which could have been worth around £14m-per-year.

BetMGM have recently been added as the club’s new training wear sponsor, after the deal with Getir came to an end. That new agreement is worth £10m-per-year.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs will be raking in the money from here on out from all these new sponsorship deals, and I just hope the club puts these funds to good use and makes the most of the strong position we’re in from a PSR perspective now.

Description

According to Tutto Juve, rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Federico Chiesa has now decided to leave the Serie A this summer rather than join another Italian club.

Chiesa could be set to leave Juventus this summer

If reports over the last week are to be believed, Federico Chiesa is expected to depart the Allianz Stadium this summer, with the Bianconeri allegedly willing to accept a fee of around €25m (£21.6m) with add-ons for the player, who has one year left on his contract (Fabrizio Romano).

It was reported by GiveMeSport last week that Tottenham are the winger’s most likely destination this summer if he does decide to move to the Premier League this summer.

However, AS Roma are also thought to be keen on securing the Italy international, with manager Daniele De Rossi said to be a fan of the former Fiorentina man (TuttoSport via Roma Press).

Keen on a Premier League switch

TuttoJuve have now offered Tottenham a boost in the race for Chiesa by claiming that the attacker prefers to move to the Premier League.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The report explains that although the 26-year-old is attracting interest from Italy, no Serie A club is expected to be able to able to pay him close to what he earns at Juve.

It is alleged that Chiesa believes that clubs from England would be able to match his current £150,000-a-week salary.

Spurs Web Opinion

Chiesa must be a tempting option for a few Premier League clubs, given the modest fee he will be available for, although his salary is on the higher side.

I would be surprised if Tottenham pushed ahead with a move for the Juve player this summer.
