Report: Dele Alli pictured training with Tottenham forward - The Spurs Web
Description

Ex-Tottenham star, Dele Alli, is without a club following his contract at Everton expiring but is putting in the hard yards alongside Spurs’ Dane Scarlett ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Scarlett and Dele take part in training session

Scarlett has experienced a turbulent few years both on loan and at Tottenham. Jose Mourinho led the hype train for Scarlett back in 2021, when Scarlett was just 17.

Mourinho described Scarlett as having the ability to become ‘phenomenal’ after handing the striker merely a few minutes in the Europa League (Daily Mail).

After Jose’s departure, the Tottenham academy product departed on loan to Portsmouth where he netted six goals in forty games for Pompey. (TransferMarkt)

A frustrating loan to Ipswich last season meant his time with the Championships runners-up was cut short in January.

Scarlett was given minutes sparsely towards the end of Tottenham’s Premier League season and has now been photographed training alongside former teammate, Dele in a session which took place earlier this month.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Scarlett and Dele played together under Mourinho

Dele has been left without a club after suffering an injury-ridden time with Everton. Fans are keen to see the attacking midfielder reach the top again after the 28-year-old’s heartbreaking interview with Gary Neville almost a year ago.

Dele, who has played over 250 games for Tottenham, has been photographed preparing for the 2024/25 alongside Spurs’ Dane Scarlett on Connor Peters’ Instagram.

Connor Peters is a football trainer who has also been pictured training his cousin, Kyle Walker-Peters, Declan Rice and Dominic Solanke. (Instagram)

Scarlett has since returned to Hotspur Way to commence pre-season training with the rest of the Tottenham first-team squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Spurs Web Opinion

I’m certain that me as well as Spurs fans are desperate to see Dele return to his best that we are so familiar with.

His interview with Gary Neville was eye-opening and answers a lot of questions about the man as well as providing people with similar experiences for someone to relate to.

Dele will also only be a huge help to Scarlett, who Tottenham fans will also be rooting for to do well, especially in pre-season after the 20-year-old appears to have hit a slight lull in his career.

Report: Two top European clubs want Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - The Spurs Web
Description

It seems it may only be a matter of time before Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg leaves Tottenham Hotspur, and he could end up with a choice between two of the biggest clubs in Europe for his next destination.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is generating transfer interest

According to the latest from Football Insider, Hojbjerg is attracting interest from Germany and Spain, with both Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid looking to sign the Danish midfielder.

Spurs “could lose” Hojbjerg this summer with the player looking to “guarantee himself more first-team football” after a disappointing season with the Lilywhites.

Hojbjerg “fell out of favour” with Spurs boss, Ange Postecoglou, and “top European clubs” like Dortmund and Atletico are now circling.

And, if Hojbjerg does leave, the report suggests the “door would be open” for Tottenham to sign another central midfielder. Spurs have been looking for reinforcements in that area “for a while” and may add to the acquisition of Archie Gray in the middle of the park.

Dortmund have repeatedly been linked with Hojbjerg, but are thought to only be ready to make a move if they fail in their pursuit of Brighton midfielder, Pascal Gross (Florian Plettenberg).

MORE SPURS STORIES

Hojbjerg is wanted by two European clubs

Meanwhile, it is believed Atletico Madrid regard Hojbjerg as the ‘best possibility’ for their midfield needs this summer (Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness).

There is still thought to be interest from elsewhere, too, with Fenerbahce not giving up their attempts to sign the 28-year-old (Sabah). Hojbjerg could also find himself in Italy next season, with both Inter and AC Milan keen (TuttoMercatoWeb).

Spurs Web Opinion

Hojbjerg is going to find himself with a very decent move indeed this summer, and I’m glad for him, as he is still a top player.

He doesn’t work for Spurs now in this new style of football which Postecoglou demands, but he has so much to offer and he’ll get the chance to show that next season at a new club.

Report: Two clubs are willing to trigger Eberechi Eze’s release clause - The Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are willing to trigger Eberechi Eze’s release clause this summer but so are another Premier League side, according to The Sun.

Tottenham face competition for Eberechi Eze

A number of media outlets over the last few months have indicated that Eze has been identified as one of their top summer targets by Ange Postecoglou’s side.

This includes a recent update by The Times, who claimed that Spurs are expected to push ahead with a move for the 25-year-old when he returns from the Euros, with the player said to have a release clause of £60m in his contract.

A few days ago, GiveMeSport also suggested that Eze is one of the two attacking midfield options at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist, alongside Rennes’ Desire Doue, adding that the North London club are prepared to spend big on the Eagles star.

The playmaker is represented by CAA Base – the agency that represents Ange Postecoglou and several other Spurs players.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Manchester City are also willing to pay £60m clause

The Sun have now also put the value of Eze’s release clause at £60m and they claim that Spurs are willing to trigger that to bring the player to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, the publication adds that the Lilywhites have to contend with competition from Manchester City, with the Premier League champions also allegedly ready to trigger the clause.

The England international racked up 11 goal contributions over the course of 31 appearances during the 2023/24 campaign.

Spurs Web Opinion

If the likes of Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool enter the race for Eze, things would get quite challenging for Tottenham as the 25-year-old’s head would be turned by those clubs.

Report: Spurs continue to explore plot exchange deal for Premier League midfielder - The Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are still exploring a part-exchange deal to sign Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa this summer, according to Sky Sports.

Tottenham have an interest in Jacob Ramsey

The report claims that despite the arrival of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, Spurs still want to add another central midfielder to their squad, with Ange Postecoglou viewing it as a ‘priority’.

Ramsey is thought to be one of a handful of players that the North London side are looking at, with the club said to hold a ‘long-term interest’ in the Englishman.

The report backs up what we have heard from various sources over recent weeks by stating that Spurs are ready to use Giovani Lo Celso as a makeweight in the deal to land Ramsey.

Unai Emery is thought to be a fan of the Argentine midfielder, having worked with him at Paris Saint-Germain and Villarreal.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Giovani Lo Celso has been linked with Aston Villa

Sky Sports report that Johan Lange, who joined as Tottenham’s technical director from Villa Park last year, is the man who is driving the Lilwhites’ interest in Ramsey.

However, the publication adds that the Champions League qualifiers are not keen to sell the 23-year-old since they have high hopes for him.

Spurs Web Opinion

It does appear as if Spurs might have shifted their attention from Conor Gallagher to Ramsey over recent weeks after learning that the deal for the Chelsea star could prove complicated.

I would not rule out Tottenham making another offer for Gallagher once his involvement in Euro 2024 is over.

Report: Micky van de Ven praises ‘difficult to stop’ Liverpool player - The Spurs Web
Description

Micky van de Ven has been in Germany for almost a month now as part of the Netherlands’ involvement in Euro 2024, but has singled out star forward, Cody Gakpo, as one of his toughest opponents to stop.

Van De Ven has been previewing his face off against Arsenal’s Saka

After the Netherlands clawed their way back from being 1-0 down to Turkey on Saturday, it meant that Micky van de Ven and his nation would have a semi-final showdown with England after Bukayo Saka’s long-range effort took the Three Lions game to penalties, allowing England to secure their semi-final spot.

However, his impressive cameos have suggested that Micky may be handed a start soon which would see him up against Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.

Speaking to the media, Van De Ven jested about the battle asking, ‘Who’s faster? Saka or me? If you look at the data, you already know the answer’. (Algemeen Dagblad)

MORE SPURS STORIES

Gakpo has been praised by van de Ven

The Dutch media quizzed Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo about his defensive counterpart on the team, who was sat alongside him in the press conference.

The current competition’s joint-top scorer explained: ‘Micky is the fastest in the Premier League. He’s tough to play against. You come across him again and again. Strong, fast. Good defensively. He’s doing well again now’.

Van De Ven was similarly positive about Gakpo analysing: ‘Cody is such a good player in terms of quality. One-on-one, it’s very difficult to stop that guy. He’s always threatening. He’s scoring his goals now, in the Premier League as well’.

The pair are more than familiar with each other, playing each other twice last season in the Premier League.

Gakpo was on the scoresheet both times, although the potential six points were split evenly across the season between Liverpool and Spurs.

Spurs Web Opinion

Although Van De Ven in my opinion is one of Tottenham’s most important players, reflected by him completing a clean sweep of the team’s end of season awards, as is the way with international football,

I’m hoping on Wednesday, the Dutchman will be on the wrong side of the result.

‘A bit about him’ – Teddy Sheringham praises 18-year-old Tottenham player - The Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have already made their first signing of the summer transfer window, and it is a move that looks to have Teddy Sheringham’s seal of approval.

Teddy Sheringham expects big things from Archie Gray

Snapping up one of the brightest young English talents in the football league, Spurs have made a shrewd signing in Archie Gray and he’s a player Sheringham is excited to see him play.

The former Tottenham striker told Online Poker: “It’s a big money signing, that’s for sure. Having said that, I’m sure he’ll be great and he’s an exciting young talent who can play a number of different positions.

“I’m delighted for the lad and hopefully he can kick on for Tottenham. I bet he can’t wait for the season to start. I watched him at Leeds last season and he definitely has a bit about him, so good luck to him.”

Archie Gray impressed at Leeds United last season

Big things are expected of Gray, who played 52 games for Leeds United last season despite only being 18-years-old (Transfermarkt).

MORE SPURS STORIES

Capable of playing in central midfield or at right-back, the youngster has joined Spurs in a reported £30m deal (Daily Mail).

According to former Spurs keeper, Paul Robinson, Gray will go straight into Ange Postecoglou‘s first-team squad and will prove to people exactly what he is capable of at the top level very quickly (Football Insider).

Gray himself recently described his first day of training with Tottenham as a ‘brilliant’ session and said he can’t wait to keep working with the team.

Spurs Web Opinion

I really hope Postecoglou gives the likes of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall adequate opportunities this season.

We now have two of the most exciting and talented young midfielders in Europe now, and it would be such a shame to stunt their development as we have young players in the past.

Report: Spurs remain confident of keeping Mikey Moore despite interest from European giant - The Spurs Web
Description

According to HITC, Tottenham Hotspur remain confident of holding onto Mikey Moore, despite the fact the Spurs academy starlet is attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Mikey Moore has admirers across Europe

The report says that even though the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have shown an interest in Mikey Moore, Spurs expect the highly-rated teenager to remain at Hotspur Way.

The Lilywhites insist that they have no concerns over losing the 16-year-old and they have also denied claims that the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United have put forward offers for the youngster.

However, HITC say that according to their sources, Real Madrid, PSG and Borussia Dortmund have expressed a ‘serious’ interest in signing Moore. In fact, the outlet claims that the winger’s camp have also had contact with a number of European clubs over recent weeks.

It is revealed that the Tottenham academy starlet and his representatives believe that his development would be best served by remaining at N17.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Moore made his Tottenham first-team debut last season

The publication adds that Moore is expected to feature more regularly in Ange Postecoglou’s plans next season, with Tottenham having no plans of loaning him out this summer.

Moore signed a new three-year deal last summer that will take him into his first professional contract when he turns 17 in August.

The teenager made his Tottenham first-team debut when he came on as a late substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in May which was followed by another brief cameo at Sheffield United on the final day of the Premier League season (transfermarkt).

Report: Spurs are studying three ‘versatile forwards’ ahead of potential summer move - The Spurs Web
Description

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur are now assessing various attackers on the market, including one Premier League winger.

Tottenham are looking to bring in a forward this summer

Sky Sports have claimed that next on Ange Postecoglou’s agenda for the summer window is to land a ‘versatile forward’, with the Australian keen on adding more firepower to his front line.

In fact, the outlet describes the area as a ‘priority’ for Spurs as they step up their transfer business ahead of Postecoglou’s second season in charge.

Interestingly, the report names Lille’s Jonathan David, who is currently with the Canadian squad at the Copa America, and Wolves winger Pedro Neto, as among the players Tottenham have looked at.

Lois Openda is among the players linked with Tottenham

RB Leipzig’s Lois Openda is named as the other player that Spurs have studied on the back of the Belgian’s outstanding debut season in the Bundesliga, where he netted 28 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, Sky Sports add that as things stand, the Lilywhites have not submitted formal offers for any of these three players.

Tottenham are yet to bring in a replacement for Harry Kane, who left his boyhood club last summer to join Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Spurs Web Opinion

Interestingly, Sky have lumped together Neto with David and Openda. While the Leipzig and Lille forwards are out-and-out number nines, Neto is not particularly adept at playing through the middle.

I would think that Tottenham’s pursuit of the Wolves player would likely have little to do with their search for a striker.

Gary Neville makes controversial claim about Spurs fans and Bukayo Saka

Gary Neville makes controversial claim about Spurs fans and Bukayo Saka - The Spurs Web
Description

Bukayo Saka was England’s hero at the weekend, scoring the equaliser against Switzerland before converting his penalty in the decisive shootout. But, have Saka’s Euro 2024 exploits endeared him to the Tottenham Hotspur faithful despite his links to Arsenal?

Is Bukayo Saka loved by everyone?

There can be no denying that Saka is one of England’s brightest players. Gary Neville was full of praise for the young winger at the weekend, and even suggested to ITV Sport that all fans love the Arsenal man.

“I don’t know many players who transcend sort of club rivalries, but he is one of those players who I think is enjoyed by every fan from every club,” Neville said.

“You look at him and just think he is a joy, he has got that happiness and that spirit in his game. He is a fighter,” Neville added.

“He keeps going right to the end, he always wants the ball, he is everything you want in a football player as it’s meant to be as a kid.”

You would imagine every England fan is delighted with Saka right now. Whether Tottenham fans will still feel that way come the start of the Premier League season in August, is another matter, though.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Saka has hurt Tottenham in the past

Saka scored twice against Spurs last season as Ange Postecoglou‘s side failed to get the better of their North London rivals across the two derby matches.

As an Arsenal academy graduate, the North London derby obviously means a lot to Saka and he clearly relishes putting goals past Spurs.

Spurs Web Opinion

I’ll never be able to look past Saka’s Arsenal connection, but of all their players past and present, he’s definitely the most likeable.

He plays with a smile, and seems like a genuinely nice lad, so it’s very hard to hate him, especially when he produces moments of magic for England.

Expert reveals one key factor that could prevent a Tottenham takeover

Expert reveals one key factor that could prevent a Tottenham takeover - The Spurs Web
Description

Football Finance expert Kieran Maguire has said that Daniel Levy wants to retain control of Tottenham even if the club is sold, which is a proposition that might put off some potential suitors.

Are Tottenham Hotspur up for sale?

When Tottenham released their financial results for the 2022/23 year back in April, Levy publicly admitted as part of the release that the club had spoken to potential investors.

The Daily Mail even revealed towards at end of April that multiple US-based investment groups had shown interest in buying a minority stake in the North London club.

One of those was thought to be MSP Sports Capital, with The Financial Times revealing last year that the consortium had even taken ‘formal steps’ to buy a stake in the Lilywhites.

While there is no sign of any impending takeover of Tottenham, Maguire revealed that there is still plenty of interest in the North London club but he suggested that agreeing a deal with Levy might be complicated since the Spurs chairman would want to continue in his current role.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Daniel Levy would want to stay at Tottenham

When asked if Levy and co want a partial or a complete sale, the finance expert told TBR Football: “I think everything is in play. Spurs are very attractive. I think the big issue is that ENIC have a majority stake Levy would want to continue to be chairman should a new owner come in. This is the same issue with Steve Parish at Crystal Palace. They don’t want to give up the power.

“There is certainly interest in Spurs. They are a fantastic proposition. You don’t have to spend anything on infrastructure – the stadium and training faculties are there, both of which are magnificent. They’re in London, which makes them attractive to American and Middle East investors.

“If the number is right, then you could see a majority stake being sold. But I think Levy’s ego and the fact he is a genuine Spurs fan might prove to be a stumbling block.

“That is unless you have some sort of caveated arrangement like we have at Man United, whereby someone has a minority stake but with a parallel contract that gives them a significant power.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not convinced that any incoming investor would be put off by the prospect of Levy continuing to steer the ship.

The Tottenham chairman has run a very smooth operation, spearheading the club’s growth off the pitch and making Spurs one of the most profitable clubs in Europe.
