'Baller'- Destiny Udogie praises Spurs player who has never featured under Ange - The Spurs Web
Description

Destiny Udogie is seemingly a fan of Djed Spence, with the Italian praising the Tottenham right-back on social media.

Udogie and Spence are back at Tottenham for pre-season

Many would have expected Spence to have left Tottenham by now considering the player was widely backed to seal a permanent move to Genoa earlier in the summer on the back of his impressive loan spell at the Serie A side last season.

However, the 23-year-old’s future is now up in the air after it emerged over recent weeks that the Italian club are not prepared to meet Spurs’ asking price for the defender (Sacha Tavolieri).

La Repubblica (via CalcioGirona) even reported that the Genoa are ready to turn their attention to other alternatives such as Napoli right-back Alessandro Zanoli due to Spurs’ refusal to lower their price.

It has been widely reported that the former Middlesbrough man has no future under Ange Postecolgou at Tottenham, with the North London club now thought to be offering the full-back to other clubs (Nizaar Kinsella).

MORE SPURS STORIES

Djed Spence has been training with the Spurs first-team

However, it is clear that Udogie rates Spence highly, with the 21-year-old commenting ‘Baller’ in his teammate’s latest Instagram post.

Spence made 16 appearances for Genoa last season having joined in January on the back of a disappointing stint at Leeds United (transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

There are quite a few similarities between Spence’s and Udogie’s game and I believe the right-back has the attributes to succeed in Tottenham’s system.

There must be other reasons of why Spence is not seen as the right fit, which is why Ange decided against including the right-back in his plans last season.

Report: Club are yet to table an official bid to Tottenham for South American - The Spurs Web
Description

With Tottenham Hotspur having returned for pre-season training last weekend and the days edging closer to the club’s tour of Asia, transfer activity will hopefully soon ramp up.

Emerson Royal’s future at Tottenham is under question

Sky Sports have claimed that contrary to reports doing the rounds over the last few days, AC Milan are yet to launch an official offer for Emerson Royal.

Over the last few days, a number of reports from Italy have claimed that Milan have now pressed ahead with a move for Emerson and are now locked in negotiations with Tottenham over the right-back.

This includes an update from Gianluca Di Mazrio, who revealed that the Rossoneri had launched their opening offer for the Brazilian and are keen to complete a deal swiftly.

It appears that might have been turned down by Spurs as Fabrizio Romano revealed on Sunday that the Rossoneri had returned with a ‘fresh bid’ for the player.

The journalist explained that the former Real Betis man has already agreed on a five-year contract with the Serie A club and is keen to complete a move to the San Siro.

Royal was signed from Barcelona or a fee of just under £26m in 2020 and experienced a difficult time adjusting to the demands of the Premier League (The Sun).

AC Milan are yet to table official bid for Emerson Royal

However, these reports have now been rubbished by Sky Sports, who say that the negotiations are not as far along as claimed by various sources.

The outlet states that while Milan are indeed keen on securing Emerson’s services, Tottenham are still waiting for Paulo Fonseca’s side to make their opening offer.

The South American found himself down in Ange Postecoglou‘s pecking order last season with the Australian preferring Pedro Porro as his first-choice at right-back.

Spurs Web Opinion

Whether or not an official offer has been made, it is clear that the two sides are locked in talks and that they are aware of each other’s position.

I expect this deal to accelerate over the coming days and I would not be surprised if it is concluded swiftly.

Report: Tottenham have a £15m gap in valuation with club for Premier League winger - The Spurs Web
Description

According to GiveMeSport, there is a £15m difference between Tottenham and Wolves’ respective valuation of Pedro Neto.

Pedro Neto is attracting interest from Tottenham

It is claimed that as things stand there is no clarity on whether Neto will still be at Wolves next season and are open to discussing suitable bids with the player about a potential exit from Molineux.

However, it is made clear that the Black Country club do not want to lose their star man on the cheap and will demand a minimum of £60m for him, with the valuation thought to have put off many potential suitors.

Tottenham are described as ‘the most concrete suitor’ for Neto at the moment, however, the North Londoners only value the Portuguese at around £45m.

The outlet reveals that Arsenal also hold a long-term interest in the 24-year-old but they are now prioritising additions in other areas while Paris Saint-Germain have also eyeing the former Braga man, although he is not a priority for the Ligue 1 giants.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Can Wolves and Spurs overcome a £15m gap in valuation?

Wolves are yet to receive any formal offer for Neto and they will discuss any offer with the player if and when it arrives, being aware of his desire to play European football.

Tottenham secured a return to European action with a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League table ensuring they will play in the Europa League in the 2024/25 season.

Spurs Web Opinion

This sounds like the sort of deal that could potentially drag on until quite late in the window, with Levy perhaps putting in a cheeky £40m-£45m offer in the final few days.

It looks unlikely that would be enough, with Wolves not desperate to cash in on the winger for what is a considerable gap in valuation between the two clubs.

Report: Striker not training with Spurs first-team amid reports he could leave this summer - The Spurs Web
Description

The Tottenham Hotspur players returned to the club in recent days to begin their pre-season preparations. However, one young striker was a notable absence, and it is believed it could because a transfer away from the club is in the offing.

Tottenham returned for pre-season training at the weekend

Evidence is piling up to suggest that Troy Parrott is heading for the exit door at Spurs. First of all, he was not among the list of names — revealed by Football.London — of the players who attended the first training session of the summer at Hotspur Way last weekend.

However, in a post on Parrott’s own social media account, it appears the Irishman was in fact at the training facility, though he shared an image from the club’s gym where he appeared to be alone.

Rumours suggest this is because he is the subject of a bid from another club already this summer, with Dutch side AZ Alkmaar thought to be preparing an offer.

Spurs insider, Paul O’Keefe, confirmed this in replies to two separate posts on social media recently, claiming a bid is imminent from Alkmaar.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Troy Parrott has not been seen training with Ange Postecoglou’s first team

Whether that move comes to fruition or not, Parrott himself has already told Balls.ie that he enjoys the Dutch style of football and that he feels well suited to that league.

Parrott scored 17 goals and added five assists across 32 appearances for Excelsior Rotterdam last term (Transfermarkt), but was unable to prevent the club from being relegated from the Eredivisie.

In a recent Q+A, Alasdair Gold stated he believes Parrott is more likely to leave Spurs this summer than he is to remain with the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am a little bit curious as to what Parrott could offer, but I do believe deep down that he’s not really Premier League quality.

A move is undoubtedly the best option for him, and I hope something good works out for him this summer.

Description

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that a few clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, continue to hold an interest in Rennes winger Desire Doue.

Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on interest in Desire Doue

Doue won plenty of admirers after breaking into the Rennes first-team last season, with the 19-year-old impressing with his bally carrying ability and inventive play.

The attacking midfielder, who is capable of playing in either flank, is thought to be hugely sought after, with a number of Premier League sides said to be keen on securing his services.

In fact, The Sun claimed on Sunday that Spurs and Chelsea are keen to finalise a deal to sign the 19-year-old by next week while Manchester United are also hot on the youngster’s trail.

The report alleged that Ange Postecoglou is a big fan of the teenager, who has allegedly been identified as a ‘top priority’ by the Lilywhites.

This update came after French journalist Abdellah Boulma revealed on Saturday that both Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain had expressed interest in the Rennes man.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Romano has now confirmed that the youngster is on Tottenham’s shortlist, revealing that Bayern have now contacted the player’s entourage.

Doue is a name to watch in the coming weeks

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “Bayern are one of the clubs that are monitoring Desire Doue, the talented winger of Rennes. He’s a very good player, a very big talent with many clubs interested in several countries – Paris Saint-Germain have been following the player, and Bayern have been in contact also with the people close to the player.

“Also, Tottenham have Desire Doue in their shortlist alongside other targets, and so many clubs are keeping close eyes on this player, because Doue could be one of the names to watch in the next few weeks.

“There is movement around the boy, his family have a big influence in the decision – but Doue is for sure in the list of these three clubs.

“We are waiting for one of them to make a move to understand what is going to happen on both the player’s side and the club’s side, because for Rennes he is a crucial player but there has been movement.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It appears that Tottenham have turned their attention to Doue after learning that a deal for Eberechi Eze could prove extremely complicated.

I would expect and hope for Spurs to potentially advance with an offer for the Rennes starlet over the next week or so, considering how close we now are to the squad jetting off to the far east.

Report: New offer expected for defender in 'next few hours' with club in talks Spurs - The Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have already begun their summer clearout with Tanguy Ndombele, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon among those to have departed the club.

AC Milan look set to step up their interest

According to Corriere Dello Sport (as relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb), AC Milan are set to submit a new offer for Emerson Royal after seeing their opening offer turned down.

Emerson Royal is now back at Hotspur Way for pre-season training along with the majority of the Tottenham first-team squad, however, the writing looks on the wall for the right-back, who has been widely backed to leave the North London club this summer.

AC Milan are thought to have stepped up their pursuit of the Brazilian over recent days and the latest update on the matter now comes from Corriere Dello Sport.

The report reveals that there is still some difference in the respective valuations of the two clubs, with the Serie A giants seeing their €12m offer for the defender turned down by the Premier League side.

MORE SPURS STORIES

An improved bid for Emerson Royal could be set to happen

The Rossoneri are now aware that they need to improve their bid in order to sign Emerson and they are expected to submit a €15m offer for the players in the ‘next few hours’.

The outlet adds that while there is no guarantee this will be enough to convince Tottenham, the latest offer is expected to ‘accelerate’ the negotiation process between the two sides.

During the 2023/24 campaign, the right-back made 24 appearances for Spurs in all competitions, with 11 of those coming from the bench (WhoScored).

Having lost his place to Pedro Porro in Postecoglou’s starting eleven, the former Real Betis player has had to be patient for his opportunity.

Tottenham have already signed Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall this summer, while Timo Werner has joined on a season-long loan deal.

Report: Spurs academy graduate set to become highest-paid player at London club - The Spurs Web
Description

It has now emerged that Japhet Tanganga, who is set to sign for Millwall on a permanent basis, is expected to become the highest-paid player at the Championship side.

Tottenham released Tanganga last month

Tanganga secured a loan move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last September when he joined German outfit Augsburg on what was expected to be a season-long switch with an option to make the move permanent.

The move proved to be a disaster with the defender failing to play a minute of football due to injury issues and a change of manager at the Bundesliga club and returned to Tottenham in January.

After years of injuries and lack of game time, Tanganga received some much-needed competitive minutes at Millwall on loan in the second half of last season and he was been one of the standout defenders in the Championship during his spell at the club.

The defender made 18 Championship appearances, scoring two goals for the Lions, helping them steer well clear of relegation (Transfernarkt).

The centre-back, who came through the academy ranks at Hotspur Way, was released by Tottenham last month and it emerged a few days ago that he was about to sign a deal with Millwall.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Japhet Tanganga is rebuilding his career at Millwall

This information was carried by journalist Luca Bendoni, who revealed that the Spurs academy graduate had agreed on a two-year contract with an option of a one-year extension with the South London side.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has now revealed that Tanganga will become the highest-paid player in the Championship club’s books.

The journalist wrote on Sky’s live transfer blog about the former Tottenham man: “It is understood he will be the highest-paid player at the club (Milwall).”

Spurs Web Opinion

If Tanganga manages to stay fit, he is undoubtedly too good for the Championship as he has all the qualities needed to evolve into a top centre-back.

I am certain that it will not be too long before the 25-year-old is back in the Premier League.

Report: Spurs are battling two Premier League sides for English midfielder - The Spurs Web
Description

Journalist Alan Nixon has revealed on his Patreon that Tottenham Hotspur are now battling Brentford and Crystal Palace for Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham, brother of Real Madrid star Jude.

Jobe Bellingham has impressed at Sunderland

Bellingham has had an exceptional year at Sunderland following his move to the Stadium of Light from Birmingham City last summer and the attacking midfielder is now being backed to make a move to the Premier League.

Nixon has now become the latest to credit Spurs with an interest in the youngster but he reveals that Palace and Brentford are ready to offer stiff competition to the Lilywhites.

According to the update, Ange Postecoglou is a big fan of the 18-year-old and sees him as a long-term option in the Tottenham midfield.

Spurs, Palace and Brentford all like Jobe Bellingham

The Birmingham City academy graduate is thought to be valued in excess of £20m, with the price seemingly not putting off the Premier League trio.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Nixon claims that if Bellingham does arrive at N17, he will be used as a squad player next season, potentially providing cover for James Maddison.

However, the journalist adds that the Spurs hierarchy see the teenager as an investment for the future and have a ‘genuine belief’ that he could develop into something special.

Spurs Web Opinion

With Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall already at the club and with Tottenham now seemingly going after Bellingham, it looks like Ange wants to future-proof the club’s midfield.

The Australian will fancy his chances of getting the best out of these youngsters, as he has done with the likes of Udogie and Sarr.

Journalist provides key update on Tottenham’s pursuit of Eze and Neto - The Spurs Web
Description

Pete O’Rourke has revealed in his column for Football Insider that Tottenham Hotspur would only be able to afford one of Eberechi Eze or Pedro Neto this summer.

Tottenham like both Eberechi Eze and Pedro Neto

The journalist backs up what we have heard from several sources over the last few weeks, stating that Ange Postecoglou is keen on adding more attacking firepower to his squad ahead of his second season in charge.

The Tottenham head coach has allegedly thus set his sights on Eze and Neto: two exciting attackers with plenty of experience in the Premier League.

However, according to O’Rourke, neither player will come cheap, with both deals set to prove difficult to complete.

It’s a case of Eze or Neto for Tottenham

He explains that Crystal Palace are reluctant to let Eze leave after losing Michael Olise, with Spurs thus potentially having to meet the attacking midfielder’s release clause, which stands at around £60m.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Meanwhile, Postecoglou is also thought to want reinforcements out wide, with Neto being one of the players on the club’s wishlist.

However, it is pointed out that the Portugal international’s injury problems are a concern for Spurs as they evaluate whether to make a move for him.

The journalist adds that Neto is expected to cost around £50m-£60m, which means that Tottenham can sign just one of him or the Eagles star this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would be extremely surprised if Tottenham shell out £50m on Neto, given his injury record.

While Spurs are seemingly prepared to spend big on Eze, by all accounts, his release clause is extremely complicated, thus making the deal a very difficult one to do.

Report: Tottenham will play first behind-closed-doors friendly later this week - The Spurs Web
Description

The Tottenham Hotspur squad returned from their holidays to head back into the doors of Hotspur Way on Saturday for the start of pre-season training.

Hotspur Way will host Tottenham’s first friendly of pre-season

Tottenham will play their first pre-season friendly of the summer this Saturday, with a behind-closed-door fixture scheduled against Cambridge United.

The majority of the Tottenham squad reported for pre-season training over the weekend and they were put through various tests before having their first taste of training on the grass on Sunday.

Spurs are now set to move into the next phase of pre-season development, with Ange Postecoglou‘s side scheduling a friendly against Cambridge, who will travel to Hotspur Way this Saturday.

It will be the first match that new signings Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall could play for the Lilywhties as they look to get up to speed with Ange’s high-intensity approach.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham will face Cambridge United this weekend

Football.London point out that behind-closed-doors friendlies are often more fragmented than official ones, with some games being split into three 30-minute segments rather than two halves to give various players different amounts of minutes.

The report explains that Cambridge will offer a big fitness test to the Spurs players, with the League One side having begun their pre-season a week earlier.

Tottenham will then face Hearts in Scotland on Wednesday, July 17th and QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday, July 20th and will then jet off for their fixtures in Japan and South Korea before returning to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to take on Bayern Munich on Saturday, August 10th.

Spurs Web Opinion

While we usually do not see a friendly being arranged so soon into pre-season, we know that Ange prefers high-intensity ball work rather than fitness and endurance drills, which is why this does not come as a surprise.
