Football Insider claim that Newcastle United are now confident that rumoured Tottenham target Alexander Isak will stay put at the club this summer.

Tottenham have been linked with Alexander Isak

Isak has been a massive hit at St James’ Park since swapping Real Sociedad for Newcastle two years ago and the striker has quickly gained a reputation as one of the most feared marksmen in the Premier League.

Over the last few months, a number of outlets have claimed that the Sweden international is one of the names on Ange Postecoglou’s striker wishlist (The Athletic).

There were even suggestions last week that the Lilywhites are ready to offer Richarlison and cash to the Magpies to sign the former Real Sociedad man (Gianluca Di Marzio).

Earlier this week, Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie reported that Chelsea had also stepped up their pursuit of the 24-year-old, having made contact with Newcastle over the striker’s availability.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Isak to stay put at Newcastle this summer

However, if Football Insider’s latest update is to be believed, Isak is now expected to stay put at St James’ Park for at least one more season.

The report says that the Tyneside club sold Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson to Brighton and Nottingham Forest respectively before the June 30 deadline and are thus now in a relatively comfortable position with respect to the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

The publication adds that the star striker will now remain in the North East, with Eddie Howe looking to build his squad around Isak, Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon.

Spurs Web Opinion

A deal for Isak was always going to prove difficult for Spurs or any other club to pull off this summer.

The only hope was that Newcastle would be forced to listen to offers due to their PSR situation, but with the deadline now passed, it is clear the striker is going nowhere.

Kieran Trippier says key Tottenham target does not get the credit he deserves

Kieran Trippier believes that Conor Gallagher does not get the credit he deserves for the amount of work he puts in midfield to disrupt his opponents.

Conor Gallagher is a summer target for Tottenham

It has been widely reported that Ange Postecoglou is a fan of Gallagher, with the Australian thought to have identified the midfielder as a key target as soon as he walked through the door at Hotspur Way last summer (Fabrizio Romano- GiveMeSport).

Spurs might have viewed this summer as the ideal opportunity to get their man since the 24-year-old has only one year left on his contract but over recent weeks, major doubts have been cast on the deal.

It was reported by The Times earlier this week that the Blues are demanding £50m for their academy graduate, which Tottenham have no intention of paying.

Meanwhile, just a couple of days ago, The Standard suggested that Postecoglou’s men are now less likely to press ahead with a move for the Chelsea star since they have now signed Archie Gray and the PSR deadline has passed.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Kieran Trippier says Gallagher is underrated

It looks like Trippier is certainly a fan of Gallagher, with the former Spurs man praising his England teammate for his ‘doggies’, which are frequent shuttle runs from opponent to opponent when pressing.

The Newcastle man told The Mirror: “You see Conor doing ‘doggies’ at the end … I don’t think people understand how important that is.

“He (Conor) came off at half-time (in Cologne). But it showed his mentality to come on and run for the team, do the ugly stuff that people don’t really see.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Gallagher’s biggest strength is his work off the ball rather than on it, which is perhaps why he does not get as much credit as he deserves.

I can see why Ange is a fan of him as the 24-year-old’s engine and his reading of the game will be a huge asset while counter-pressing.

Spurs need to watch out for Chelsea in the race for bargain striker

Description

Journalist Ben Jacobs says that several clubs are now circling over rumoured Tottenham target Jonathan David, who is expected to swap Lille for a new club this summer.

Tottenham have been linked with Jonathan David

David is currently with the Candian squad at the Copa America, with the North American side set to take on Venezuela on Saturday for a place in the final four of the competition.

Meanwhile, over the last few weeks, several outlets have suggested that Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham are all keen on securing the striker’s services (Guardian).

Just a few days ago, 90 min reported that Spurs and the Blues who are the two leading contenders for the 24-year-old, with the report adding that the player can be signed for as little as £20m since he has just a year left on his deal.

The report suggested that the former Gent man has no intention of extending his stay at Stade Pierre Mauroy and is looking to depart the club.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Chelsea are ones to watch in the race for Jonathan David

This has now been backed up by Jacobs, who named Stamford Bridge as a possible destination for the player.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “David is expected to go this window rather than stay at Lille and end up leaving on a free or signing a new deal and there’s a high enough volume of suitors that somebody’s going to get a real bargain there.

“So we can keep an eye on Chelsea for Jonathan David still, but they’re not in a rush at this point.

“They’ve done good early business with a number of players. There’s an acceptance now that some players have focused on international football, especially with Enzo Maresca not even formally starting yet, and pre-season not underway.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect clubs are waiting for Canada’s Copa America campaign to end before pressing ahead with offers for David.

The Premier League looks like the most likely destination for the striker, with a number of top English sides needing a number nine.

Report: Tottenham make contact with the agents of Rennes star - The Spurs Web
Description

According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur have now reached out to the representatives of Rennes winger Desire Doue about a potential summer transfer switch.

Tottenham are interested in Desire Doue

On Tuesday, Spurs secured the services of one of the best young players in the EFL in the form of Archie Gray and it seems like the club have now turned their attention to another up-and-coming starlet.

It was reported by Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe earlier this week that the Lilywhites hold a serious interest in Doue, who set Ligue 1 alight last season.

If TEAMtalk’s latest update is to be believed, Tottenham have made contact with the agents of the 19-year-old, who can play as a number ten or on either flank.

Tottenham make contact with Desire Doue’s agents

The report claims that Rennes will not let the player leave on the cheap and are expected to demand around £50m for the teenager.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The publication adds that it is unclear whether Tottenham would be willing to pay that amount for the Frenchman, particularly since Ange Postecoglou’s men are also prioritising the signing of a striker and a central defender.

Whatever the case, it appears Doue is a name to keep an eye on for Spurs fans this month.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Doue is undoubtedly an exciting prospect, I wonder if Spurs and Ange would be tempted to pursue a winger with a little more experience who can have an instant impact at N17.

The Rennes star might take six months or so to get used to the intensity and pace of the Premier League.

Report: Man City and Man United both make offers to poach Tottenham starlet - The Spurs Web
Description

Mikey Moore, who has incredibly already broken into Tottenham’s first-team set-up at sixteen, is receiving plenty of offers to lure him away from Spurs before he signs a professional deal at 17.

Mikey Moore has plenty of options

Tottenham youth academy product, Mikey Moore, has been part of Spurs’ set-up since he was eight years old and at sixteen featured off of the bench in Tottenham’s 2-0 loss at home to Manchester City, an appearance which made him the club’s youngest ever Premier League player. (Tottenham Website)

The Athletic claimed back in June of 2023 that following Moore’s unbelievable tally of three goals and four assists in ten U18 appearances, at just fifteen years old, Tottenham realised they had to tie the star down to a deal.

The club convinced Moore to commit his ‘long term future’ to Spurs by reportedly agreeing on a contract that sees him go from a scholarship deal to a professional contract as soon as he turns 17.

Despite these reports, Football Insider insist that Moore is receiving plenty of professional contract offers from elsewhere this summer.

A report back in late June claimed Borussia Dortmund had made an offer for the highly rated teenager, but new claims suggest two more clubs have also made proposals.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Both Manchester clubs have made Mikey Moore offers

Football Insider released a new report on the 4th of June which claims that both Manchester United and Manchester City have made offers to Mikey Moore to join them instead as soon as he turns 17.

The report states that Tottenham are desperate to keep Moore at the club and are pulling out ‘all the stops’ in order to ensure that he remains playing in North London for the foreseeable future.

It would be seen as a huge blow should Moore move on with Ange Postecoglou believed to be very keen on the player, with desires to have him even more involved within the first team, as he was towards the latter stages of the 2023/24 season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Moore is possibly the most highly-rated youth product that Hotspur Way has churned out with a whole host of clubs reportedly interested in the teenager after he impressed playing in year groups way above his age.

That’s why The Athletic’s report last year was so celebrated, it appeared that Tottenham had ensured Moore would at least have a few years starring for the senior team after coming through the academy.

This is why Football Insider’s report is perhaps bewildering, either way though, Tottenham will be more than aware that letting such a promising talent such as Mikey Moore leave before making a first-team impact would be incredibly unpopular among excited fans.

Report: Expert claims Tottenham and Man United will battle for naming rights deal

Report: Expert claims Tottenham and Man United will battle for naming rights deal - The Spurs Web
Description

After Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s acquisition of the Red Devils, he has been considering securing a naming rights deal for a new or refurbished Old Trafford, but plenty of clubs are in the market for such a deal, including Tottenham.

Spurs are still trying to secure a deal

Daniel Levy and Tottenham unveiled a new state-of-the-art stadium in April of 2019, taking over the legendary 36,000-seater White Hart Lane.

Despite being built largely upon the same plot as the previous ground, the new arena was, and has for its five opening years, been called the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The stadium has hosted concerts, rugby, boxing and NFL games but is yet to secure a naming rights deal that in modern sports has become incredibly lucrative. The home of NBA sides, Lakers and Clippers is worth £565 million across its 20-year agreement. (Football.London)

In September, former chief commercial officer at Tottenham, Todd Kline, spoke to a fans forum and explained that a deal for the stadium’s naming rights is ‘complicated’ due to there only being ‘one opportunity to name the stadium’ as well as overcoming the obstacles of the right term fee and brand.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham aren’t getting the fee they desire

Former Manchester City financial advisor, Stefan Borson, spoke to Football Insider on Thursday and explained that despite Manchester United’s stature and potential desire to secure a naming rights deal for Old Trafford, they have plenty of Premier League rivals also seeking a deal.

Borson explained that Spurs have been trying to sell the grounds naming rights for more than four years, utilising the absence of a deal to display how difficult Premier League naming rights deals currently are.

Even Tottenham, who are trying to obtain a first-time sponsor for a brand-new stadium in the capital of England haven’t managed to attract or agree the right deal.

There were multiple reasons cited by Borson for why Tottenham haven’t secured a deal yet, including the fact that it has simply been ‘difficult’ to find a suitor and the club have not been able to receive an offer that matches the price they are seeking.

The former Man City advisor also revealed that Tottenham are currently operating in a swamped market with Manchester United, Everton and West Ham all looking to raise funds through naming rights.

Spurs Web Opinion

Due to the lucrative nature of modern sports stadium deals, combined with the fact the club never brandished the new ground as White Hart Lane has allowed them to effectively agree a deal with many fans not being opposed to it, as they may have been ten or twenty years ago.

However, Todd Kline was right when speaking back in September of last year, the right brand and price are key.

Fans may have an issue should their home be titled with a brand’s name that holds negative connotations, and a deal should hold enough value to see it reflected in Tottenham’s transfer business and positively impact what is done inside the stadium, rather than just a name on the outside of it.

Report: Spurs register interest in signing Birmingham starlet - They have tried before - The Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham previously had the 20-year-old on trial only for the player to turn down a contract, but now they want to return and make another move for the youngster.

Rico Brown has reportedly rejected a new deal

After a successful loan to the National League North with Rushall, Browne has since reportedly turned down the opportunity to extend at Birmingham City. (TransferMarkt)

Birmingham City, who recently appointed Tottenham assistant head coach, Chris Davies, as their manager are yet to hand the defender a single senior minute despite being a regular in the club’s youth team.

Tottenham would likely add Browne to their U21s after the team lifted both the PL2 play-off and league trophy last season.

Midfielder-by-trade, Dante Cassanova, filled in at defence for the end of the PL2 season following Alfie Dorrington’s injury woes with other centre-back Ashley Phillips unlikely to spend a season with the youth squad following his successful Championship loan.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Brighton and Tottenham are chasing Brown’s signature

Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (3/7/24) that despite Browne previously rejected an 18-month contract at Spurs following a seemingly successful trial at the club, Tottenham are now seeking to sign the defender after the 20-year-old rejected a new deal at Birmingham City.

Tottenham aren’t the only Premier League side with interest in Browne, however, with Brighton also registering ‘an official interest’ in the Birmingham youth player.

The centre-back has featured for St Kitts & Nevis’ youth sides and with his future now undecided it’s appearing a possibility that a Premier League side will secure Browne’s services.

Spurs Web Opinion

Browne would be another young signing that follows a recent trend in Tottenham’s recruitment who have recently added Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall to their ranks.

Considering the level of Browne’s recent loan the 20-year-old is a lot more likely to be an addition to the club’s youth sides.

Even if the Birmingham youth product will at first slot into the U21s, it would be a welcome addition to the side that struggled to have consistently fit natural central defenders.

Report: Tottenham player gives his agents a 'mandate' to secure transfer exit

Description

Emerson Royal’s prospective Tottenham exit has long since been reported, with the defender himself now ready for a switch. He has apparently now given his agents a ‘mandate’ to make it happen.

AC Milan and Tottenham are now in frequent contact

AC Milan‘s interest in Tottenham right-back, Emerson Royal, has been well-reported by the Italian media but it now seems that they are set to turn that interest into a concrete transfer.

Fabrizio Romano on X reported on Tuesday (2/7/24) that Emerson gave the ‘green light’ back in May, wanting a move to Milan with new direct contacts between both clubs taking place.

The value Fabrizio Romano reported Tottenham were seeking is £21 million, the exact fee that Spurs paid for the full-back in 2021 when they purchased Emerson from Barcelona.

That turned out to be the start of what was a rollercoaster season that saw the manager who signed the Brazilian, Nuno Espirito Santo, leave mere months into the job. (TransferMarkt)

MORE SPURS STORIES

Emerson’s ‘preference’ is a move to AC Milan

Calcio Mercato in Italy has since reported on Wednesday (3/7/24) that AC Milan have been in frequent contact with Tottenham in order to sign Emerson Royal after Aston Villa’s valuation for Matty Cash was deemed too high.

The outlet also confirmed that the deal for Emerson is easier than the one for Cash due to the player himself displaying a desire to make a switch to AC Milan, despite having an offer from Villarreal on the table. Emerson has handed his agents and intermediaries a ‘mandate’ to secure a deal with Milan.

Following the mandate, Calcio Mercato revealed that Emerson’s entourage have been attempting to organise the transfer for a while, with an agreement in principle for the player’s contract already agreed.

The agreements and enthusiasm on the player’s side have led to newly scheduled meetings between Tottenham and AC Milan in an attempt to reach an agreement over the value of the transfer.

There is a current £6.77 million difference in valuation between the sides, with a feeling that a middle ground is achievable.

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s positive from Tottenham’s negotiation point of view that AC Milan seems to have landed on Emerson as their ideal right-back signing with most Spurs fans likely to be in agreement that a full recuperation of Emerson’s original fee would be a smart sale.

Archie Gray’s arrival, albeit that the youngster ideally can operate in centre-midfield, means that an exit for Emerson is even more sanctionable now.

Report: Tottenham set to battle Premier League rivals to sign Nico Williams

Description

Tottenham remain interested in Athletico Bilbao and Spain star, Nico Williams, after some impressive EURO displays, but they will have competition for his signature this summer.

Williams has claimed he’ll remain in Bilbao this summer

Tottenham were reported to have joined the collection of Premier League clubs interested in Nico Williams back in April, but stunning displays so far in Germany are likely to only have escalated his value. (Telegraph)

When Williams was questioned recently about leaving Athletic Club the winger stated that he was ‘very happy’ and had signed a new contract mere weeks ago, perhaps extinguishing any exit rumours. (Nogomania)

Spurs along with Aston Villa remain keen to land the winger

Despite the player’s comments, Football Insider reported on Wednesday (3/7/24) that Spurs, along with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, are watching Williams very closely with a potential move in mind.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The report stated that Nico Williams’ current deal contains a release clause of £49 million, but continued to later claim that the left-winger’s wages are a factor that’s deterred many European clubs who are interested.

People within Tottenham are undoubtedly big fans of Williams, much like other clubs in the Premier League and further afield, with the report stating that Spurs perceive Williams as a ‘star in the making’.

Spurs Web Opinion

After watching Nico Williams for Spain in the European Championships, it very quickly became apparent why so many clubs are chasing the 21-year-old.

With Tottenham reportedly being interested in the player back in April, perhaps it would have been a good idea to either trigger his release clause then or organise a deal before the player departed for Germany where his performances would have undoubtedly attracted even more suitors and subsequently driving up the price.

Nico is likely to be many Spurs fan’s dream summer signing, but if he continues to set the EUROs alight then the move may have to remain a dream with bigger fish likely to swallow up his talent for themselves.

Report: Man United and West Ham are both keen on signing Tottenham player

Despite seemingly being unwanted at Spurs after multiple loan moves, Sergio Reguilon has plenty of Premier League suitors this summer.

Reguilon is expected to leave Tottenham soon

Despite joining Tottenham in the summer of 2020 for £25 million, the Spaniard has been out of favour under Spurs’ last few managers. A disappointing loan to Atletico Madrid in 2022 likely saw the left-back’s value dwindle.

However, last season’s loan moves to Manchester United and Brentford have certainly put Reguilon back on the map ahead of the summer transfer window.

Reguilon featured twelve times in all competitions for Manchester United as he covered the injured Luke Shaw until January.

A break clause on the loan deal then saw the former Real Madrid player go to Brentford where he featured sixteen times in the league, being a popular figure and almost ever-present despite a red card. (TransferMarkt)

MORE SPURS STORIES

Man United and West Ham are showing interest in Reguilon

According to Spanish media outlet, AS, Reguilon is expected to depart North London this summer, with a switch across the capital possible due to Julen Lopetegui’s recent appointment, who managed Reguilon at Sevilla back in 2019.

The other English club circling Reguilon is Manchester United who recently had Reguilon at the club for his six-month loan, clearly being impressed enough by the Spainard to be interested in securing a permanent deal for him.

There is also interest away from the Premier League with Italian giants, Juventus, also reportedly having Reguilon on their list of possible new left-backs ahead of the summer.

Reguilon is, according to AS, ready for the next challenge of his career with the player being prepared to exit Tottenham this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that multiple clubs now have reported interest in Reguilon can only aid Tottenham’s negotiation power in a summer that seems destined to be the one that Reguilon permanently leaves Spurs.

Despite his fairly successful loans at fellow Premier League clubs, with Reguilon being 27, and likely wanting game time, it’s hard to see how Tottenham and Postecoglou can do a U-turn on their decision to get rid of the Spaniard last season and re-integrate him into the team.
