However, the 23-year-old got better as the season went on, eventually finishing with 15 goal contributions in the Premier League.

Gold has now revealed that Postecoglou expects the winger to potentially do even better in his second season at North London.

The journalist states that the Australian coach has high hopes for the Wales international and believes in his qualities.

He also adds that there is a lot of belief internally at Hotspur Way that Johnson is ‘going to improve’ over the next couple of years.

The most exciting thing about the current Spurs side is the fact that the likes of Destiny Udogie, Brennan Johnson, Pape Sarr, Micky van de Ven and perhaps even Pedro Porro are not at their peak yet and are going to continue to get better over the next few seasons.

According to talkSPORT, Tottenham Hotspur will look at activating Eberechi Eze’s release clause in order to bring him to the club this summer.

Over the past few weeks, the speculation linking Eze with a move to Spurs has been intensifying, with a number of outlets suggesting that the England international has emerged as a top target for Ange Postecoglou’s men (Football.London).

It was asserted by TBR Football on Tuesday that Tottenham had even reached out to the 25-year-old about a transfer and that the player was open to the move.

However, it was explained that the Lilywhites would have to meet the attacking midfielder’s release clause to prise him away from Selhurst Park.

Tottenham will look at activating Eze’s release clause

According to talkSPORT, the North London club will look at activating the release clause in order to bring Eze to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The report says that Spurs’ interest in the former QPR star is ‘serious’ and they may be willing to pay the £60m fee in his clause once they move some players off their wage bill over the coming weeks.

As such, it looks like this could be a sage that runs on and on this summer.

My fear is that the likes of Man City and Arsenal would show concrete interest in the Palace star, which might potentially turn his head.

Real Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo has confirmed that they want to re-sign Giovani Lo Celso this summer but admitted that the move is still a long way from being a reality at the moment.

Lo Celso to Real Betis is a ‘remote option’

However, it was explained that the 28-year-old’s salary demands might be a potential stumbling block in the club’s efforts to take him back to the Estadio Benito Villamarin.

Fajardo has now spoken about the Spanish side’s pursuit of Lo Celso but he hinted that the player is far from certain to return to the club.

When asked about Lo Celso, the Betis chief told Mucho Deporte: “He is a Tottenham player, and we owe respect to his entity. He left very good memories here, but it is still a remote option.”

Spence is too expensive for Genoa

Blazquez has now revealed that Genoa want to deal while the 23-year-old also wants to return to the Luigi Ferraris Stadium but he explained that the transfer completely depends on Spurs.

Tottenham make ambitious bid for Newcastle man

According to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio, Newcastle United desperately need to sell a player before the end of the month to get their finances in order to appease Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

It is claimed Tottenham have been trying to take advantage of that situation by attempting to prise Alexander Isak away from the Magpies.

Newcastle are thought to have “received offers” for the Swedish striker, one of which came from Spurs. The exact nature and value of the proposal is unknown, but it is believed Newcastle were “offered Richarlison plus a balance.”

Newcastle reject Tottenham bid for Alexander Isak

The offer was rejected and it remains to be seen whether Spurs will return with an improved deal in the future.

It has previously been suggested that Isak would be too expensive (The Athletic) and there is even a belief he will be signing a new contract with Newcastle in the near future (TBR Football).

However, according to Football Insider, Tottenham regard the 24-year-old as the perfect ‘marquee’ signing they have been looking for and it is thought the Lilywhites would be willing to break their transfer record to make it happen.

Obviously, Newcastle are going to be very reluctant to let Isak go, but we have to keep going back for him and get this deal done.

I’d rather us keep Richarlison, too, but if he has to go to make the transfer happen, then so be it. Isak would transform our team.

Dejan Kulusevski admitted that he is excited about Lucas Bergvall’s impending arrival at Tottenham and that he is looking forward to seeing how the midfielder adapts to life in the Premier League.

His compatriot Kulusevski has now remarked that he is excited to link up with Bergvall, admitting that it will be special to share the dressing room with a fellow Swede.

It cannot be easy for an 18-year-old to move away from home and to adapt to a new country and a completely new footballing culture but Kulusevski’s presence at Spurs should ease the bedding-in process a little for Bergvall.

According to The Guardian, Tottenham Hotspur find themselves in the thick of a major four-way battle for the signature of Lille striker Jonathan David this summer.

Several outlets over the last couple of weeks have talked up Tottenham’s interest in David, with Football Insider even claiming a few days ago that the Lilywhites have already reached out to the striker’s representatives regarding a summer switch to N17.

The Guardian have now become the latest publication to report on the striker’s future, explaining that Tottenham are keen to add more variety to their attack and have identified the Lille star as a target.

It is explained that many in the Spurs’ recruitment department are big admirers of David and that the North London club have already begun exploring a move for him.

However, it is revealed that they have to see off competition from Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham to land the centre-forward.

It is perhaps up to Ange to work his magic and convince the striker that the current Tottenham set-up would be the ideal fit for the player of his attributes.

Alan Hutton is confident that Tottenham will soon activate the option to extend Son Heung-min’s contract by one year.

Son’s current deal at Spurs runs out in 2025 but Tottenham do have an option to extend the deal by a further year.

The 31-year-old continues to be linked with a move away from the North London club, with TEAMtalk suggesting a couple of weeks ago that Al-Ittihad could make a big-money move for the Tottenham man if they cannot push through a deal for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

However, Son has emphatically denied those rumours, insisting that he has no intention of leaving the Premier League at this stage of his career (The Mirror).

Several outlets have reported over the last few months that the North London club plan on first activating the option to extend the South Koean’s contract until 2026 before opening talks with him this summer about a new long-term deal (The Athletic).

Spurs are expected to extend Son’s contract

Hutton is confident that the option will be exercised by Spurs sooner rather than later.

When asked about Son’s future and the clause in his contract, the former Tottenham right-back told Football Insider: “I think the club has put the clause in his contract to safeguard them. They’ll go and take that option up. It’s happening, 100%.

“He’s huge for Spurs. That will give you two seasons – and if someone comes in for him in that time, you can get a fee that Tottenham feel he is valued at.

The only reason for Tottenham to activate the clause is to improve their bargaining position while sitting down with the forward’s representatives for talks over a new deal.

I fully expect the Lilywhites to tie the forward down to a new three or four-year deal before the start of the new season.

It has now emerged that Tottenham Hotspur are willing to allow academy forward Jude Soonsup-Bell to leave on loan this summer as the interest in his services continues to mount.

Who is Jude Soonsup-Bell?

Soonsup-Bell arrived at Spurs from Chelsea with a big reputation 18 months ago and he has won many admirers at Hotspur Way since his move.

The versatile forward, who is a number nine by trade but can also play out wide, had an impressive season for the Under-21s last term, scoring 10 goals and registering a further seven assists as Spurs won the Premier League 2 title last season.

The 20-year-old is still waiting to make his senior bow for Ange Postecoglou’s side but that might not be too far away if he keeps progressing at his current pace.

Tottenham are set to loan out Jude Soonsup-Bell

According to The Mirror transfer blog update (14:22 25/6/24), a few clubs showed interest in signing Soonsup-Bell on loan in January but Tottenham turned down those approaches at the time.

With Jamie Donley and Will Lankshear potentially set to stay at the club and perhaps get some minutes in the Europa League, I am not surprised that the club are willing to allow Soonsup-Bell to leave on loan.

Plenty of the top Spurs youngsters from last season will probably end up out on loan. I expect Mikey Moore to stay at Tottenham for significant first-team minutes though.
