Description

TEAMtalk have claimed that Southampton and Ipswich Town have both expressed an interest in signing Joe Rodon from Tottenham Hotspur.

Joe Rodon is a popular target this summer

The report says that Rodon loved his loan spell at Leeds and would love to move to the club on a permanent basis if an opportunity presented itself despite the side’s failure to win promotion to the top flight.

It is explained that Daniel Farke’s men have not given up hope of landing the centre-back but the deal would be difficult for them to complete.

Firstly, it is revealed that they would have to sell before they can buy and Tottenham’s £12m to £15m price tag would be hard for them to meet.

Additionally, Leeds are also having to contend with competition from the Premier League for the Wales international.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Southampton and Ipswich both like Joe Rodon

It is explained that Southampton, who beat Farke’s men in the playoff final, as well as Ipswich have both expressed an interest in a deal for Rodon.

In addition to those clubs, it is said that former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho could look to take the 26-year-old to Fenerbahce this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Rodon might prefer to return to Leeds, he likely would not want to wait around until the Championship club can raise sufficient funds to pursue him, particularly when he is attracting interest from Premier League sides.

Whatever happens, it seems Spurs won’t have any problem getting decent money for Rodon this summer, which is good news.

Report: Tottenham Hotspur launch £42m bid for La Liga star - The Spurs Web
Description

According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur have now submitted an opening bid for Real Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo after Ange Postecoglou gave the green light for the move.

Tottenham are interested in Takefusa Kubo

Tubo, who came through Real Madrid’s youth system, has excelled since his switch to Sociedad two years ago, emerging as one of the most exciting attackers in the Spanish top flight.

The winger primarily plays on the right but can also operate on the other flank or even through the middle, possessing plenty of pace and a wand of a left foot.

TEAMtalk claim that Postecoglou is a fan of the Japan international while Tottenham’s recruitment staff were impressed by his displays at the Reale Arena last season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham launch a £42m bid for Kubo

Spurs are said to be ‘determined’ to bolster their forward line this summer and have allegedly opened the bidding for Kubo at €50m (£42m).

However, TEAMtalk claim that Sociedad may hold out for a bigger fee for the 23-year-old, who has a release clause of €60m (£51m) in his contract.

Aston Villa are also thought to be admirers of Kubo, with the publication adding that a transfer battle could emerge between the two Premier League sides for the winger.

Spurs Web Opinion

Postecoglou would have been aware of Kubo from his time in the J League and the winger possesses the kind of attributes the Spurs boss wants in his wide players, being direct and capable of making decisive contributions in the final third.

I doubt that Spurs have made a £42m bid without some of the reliable Tottenham journalists catching wind of it though, so maybe one to keep an eye on.

Description

According to journalist Gerard Romero (as relayed by Barca Universal), departed Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has been offered to Barcelona.

Tanguy Ndombele leaves Tottenham Hotspur

Ndombele’s five-year spell at Spurs came to a predictable end earlier this week, with Tottenham agreeing on a pay-off with the midfielder to terminate the year left on his contract.

On the back of the Frenchman’s struggles to get game time on loan at Galatasaray last season, that was always going to be the likely outcome as there was next to no chance of Spurs getting any fee for the player.

Ndombele seemed unlikely to ever get any minutes under Postecoglou had he remained at Spurs.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Move to Barca on the cards for Ndombele?

If Gerard Romero’s latest update is to be believed, Ndombele could end up at Camp Nou this summer.

The journalist claims that the 27-year-old’s representatives have reached out to Barca and offered the club the chance to land their client on a free transfer.

However, he explains that the Catalan club have other priorities for the moment as they are focussing on signing one of Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich or Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino.

Spurs Web Opinion

Some top club might take a punt on Ndombele this summer, given that he is now available on a free transfer.

However, the 27-year-old would likely have to agree a much lower salary than what he was on at Tottenham.

Description

According to HITC, Tottenham Hotspur have failed with a move for Girona midfielder Alex Garcia, who is now expected to complete a move to Bayer Leverkusen.

Tottenham held talks over Alex Garcia deal

Garcia had an outstanding 2023-24 campaign, being one of the main driving forces behind Girona’s outstanding campaign, with the club securing an impressive third-place finish.

HITC claim that Tottenham had been impressed by what they had seen from the 26-year-old and had held talks over a potential deal.

The report adds that the likes of Aston Villa and West Ham United had also made advances towards the Spain international over recent weeks.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Bayer Leverkusen agree deal for Alex Garcia

However, these clubs have now received a blow as Leverkusen have allegedly agreed a deal with Girona for the player’s transfer.

The report says that Garcia was keen to play for the Bundesliga champions and that the three Premier League clubs did not stand a chance once Xabi Alonso’s men made an approach.

The publication adds that a switch to the BayArena is now imminent for the Girno star, with the final details now being hammered out.

Spurs Web Opinion

This is a surprising update as there have not been really been too many suggestions in the British press that Garcia was one of Tottenham’s top midfield targets this summer.

Perhaps, Spurs just made an exploratory move to understand the cost of the operation.

Tottenham-linked striker says he is 'ready' for a big transfer this summer - The Spurs Web
Description

Rumoured Tottenham target Ivan Toney has admitted that he is flattered to be linked with some big sides and remarked that he would be ready to make a move this summer if an opportunity presented itself.

Tottenham are interested in Ivan Toney

We at The Spurs Web have relayed a number of reports over the last few weeks that have talked up Tottenham’s chances of landing Toney, who has just a year left on his contract with Brentford.

Just last week, Football Transfers suggested that Spurs are ready to make an opening offer of around £40m for the 27-year-old, who was also said to be on the radars of West Ham.

However, the report explained that Tottenham’s opening offer might be turned down as it falls short of the Bees’ valuation of their star man.

Subsequently, journalist Steve Kay pointed out that Toney’s decision to change his representation to CAA Base works in Spurs’ favour, given the excellent relationship the Lilywhites have with the agency (KS1TV via TBR Football).

MORE SPURS STORIES

Ivan Toney is ready if a big move comes his way

Toney, who is currently with the England camp preparing for the Euros, has now spoken about the transfer rumours and admitted his desire to make a step up to a bigger club.

When asked about the speculation over his future, the centre-forward told talkSPORT: “It’s nice to be linked with other clubs, but I have had disappointment in the past and nothing is done until it’s done.

“I am still a Brentford player and I have to be focused on that and doing well for Brentford for the coming season.

“If it (a big move) was to come I would be ready regardless, but like I said I have to remain focused and not let other things and other noise get the better of me.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I think there could be a few more twists and turns in the Ivan Toney transfer saga.

I would be surprised if the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd do not get involved in the race as they are quite desperate for a top-class number nine.

Description

Journalist Steve Kay has pointed out that Ivan Toney has changed his representation to CAA Base, which might be a big hint that he is about to complete a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham are linked with a move for Ivan Toney

There has been a lot of speculation linking Toney with a move to Tottenham over the last few months, with a number of outlets suggesting that the Brentford star is the Lilywhites’ top striker target.

This includes an update from Football Transfers last week, which claimed that Spurs’ path towards the England international had now been cleared as Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea had cooled their interest in the player.

The outlet added that the race for the 27-year-old’s signature looks set to be between Spurs and West Ham, with Ange Postecoglou’s men allegedly readying an offer of around £40m for the striker.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Could Ivan Toney be heading to Tottenham?

Kay also believes that an offer from Tottenham for Toney is imminent, revealing that they are extremely keen on securing the England international’s services.

When asked about Spurs’ rumoured pursuit of the 27-year-old, he told KS1TV (as relayed by TBR Football): “Yeah at this moment in time, I’ve been told that Tottenham are readying a bid for him.

“He changed his agency to CAA Base before his ban which is basically Tottenham’s agency. There is a good sort of clue there that Tottenham would be a good destination for him.

“They are really interested in him, they like him a lot. You hear some strange stories about where they have met agents and where they’ve met Jonathan Barnett. Daniel and Jonathan Barnett are very good friends.”

Spurs Web Opinion

CAA Base are a big agency and Tottenham are not the only club that they have good connections with.

I do not think Toney signing with them is proof that a move to the North London club is imminent for the striker.

Description

According to TBR Football, Tottenham Hotspur are now tempted to launch an offer to sign Tammy Abraham after learning that Roma are willing to sell the striker at a discount.

Tottenham are linked with a move for Tammy Abraham

If you have followed The Spurs Web’s coverage, you will know that several outlets over the last week have claimed that Roma are ready to cash in on Abraham, with Tottenham mooted as a potential destination for the striker (The Telegraph).

TBR Football have now stated that the Serie A club have let interested parties know that they are ready to sell the centre-forward for just £28m.

This is thought to have alerted the Lilywhites, who are now seriously considering making an opening offer for the former Chelsea man.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tammy Abraham is available for just £28m

The report explains that Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez was previously Tottenham’s top striker target but after learning Abraham’s price, the club could decide to push ahead with a move for the 26-year-old instead.

The publication adds that the England international is also of interest to Aston Villa, Newcastle United and West Ham United, who are all of the opinion that £28m represents excellent value for the Roma star.

Tottenham currently have Richarlison, Alejo Veliz, Troy Parrott, Dane Scarlett and Heung-min Son as senior striker options in North London.

Spurs Web Opinion

I can see why Abraham might be a decent squad player to have for Tottenham in case Richarlison stays at the club.

However, if the Brazilian is sold, he will have to be replaced with a top-class number nine such as Ivan Toney or Alexander Isak.

Report: Lazio are interested in making a move to sign Tottenham player - The Spurs Web
Description

According to a report in La Repubblica (as relayed by Calciomercato), Lazio are set to make a move for Giovani Lo Celso this summer after passing up on the chance to sign the Tottenham man last summer.

Lazio could have signed Lo Celso last summer

The report states that Lazio had a chance to sign Lo Celso 12 months ago but the club’s former head coach, Maurizio Sarri, decided that he did not want the player.

With Marco Baroni now taking over from Sarri, the Italian club are now expected to reignite their interest in the Argentine.

It is pointed out that while Lazio are focussing on signing players below 25 years of age this summer, the club’s president, Claudio Lotito, and sporting director, Angelo Mariano Fabiani, are ready to make an exception for Lo Celso.

This is because they admire the 28-year-old’s qualities and they believe that he would be an extremely valuable addition to the squad.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Lo Celso wants to leave Tottenham this summer

The report claims that the former Real Betis man is keen to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in search of regular first-team football this summer and that €10m (£8.4m) would be enough to prise him away.

Finally, the publication adds that Biancocelesti would have to ‘decide quickly’ on a move for Lo Celso as several other clubs, including Napoli, are circling over the midfielder.

Spurs Web Opinion

Unsurprisingly, it seems both Lo Celso and Hojbjerg are quite highly sought after among clubs in Spain and Italy.

Both players will ultimately have a big say on where they end up as they are both in a powerful position since they have just a year left on their respective deals.

Report: Club have 'ignited a transfer war' to try and beat rivals to Spurs player - The Spurs Web
Description

According to a report in Takvim, Galatasaray are now ready to challenge Fenerbahce in the race for Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Since Jose Mourinho took over as the head coach of Fenerbahce, a number of outlets have suggested that the Turkish club have made Hojbjerg their top target.

This includes a recent update by Sabah, which claims that the former Tottenham boss wants the Dane to be his first signing and that contacts have already been made regarding a deal for the experienced midfielder.

With the transfer window now officially open, it remains to be seen whether Mourinho follows up on this interest with an actual bid from Fenerbahce.

Hojbjerg was signed by Jose Mourinho during his time at Tottenham and was regular under the Portuguese coach but has struggled for regular action since Ange Postecogou took charge at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Transfer battle emerging for Tottenham’s Hojbjerg

However, Takvim have now claimed that Fenerbahce are not the only Turkish club eyeing Hojbjerg, with Galatasaray now also plotting a move for the player.

Galatasaray are said to have ‘ignited a transfer war’ with their local rivals for the former Southampton man, with the two Istanbul clubs expected to fight it out for the 28-year-old’s signature.

The publication adds that the reigning Super Lig champions will now begin talks with Tottenham regarding Hojbjerg in a ‘short time’ and have already scheduled an appointment with the midfielder’s agent.

The Dane was set to join Atletico Madrid last summer in a £30million deal, only for the move to collapse after he failed to agree personal terms (The Sun).

Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou kept him in the squad last season, but mostly his 36 appearances were restricted to being from the bench.

Hojbjerg will have the chance to put himself in the shop window when he plays for Denmark tomorrow in their first fixture of Euro 2024 when they come up against Slovenia.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham fans should take this information with a pinch of salt as Turkish outlets do tend to exaggerate transfer stories.

I would be quite surprised if Hojbjerg considers moving to the Super Lig at this stage of his career as he is certainly good enough to continue playing at the highest level.

Report: Spurs-linked striker is now more likely to join Aston Villa instead - The Spurs Web
Description

According to the print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), Tammy Abraham is more likely to join Aston Villa than Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Tottenham are linked with Tammy Abraham

Over the last week, several outlets have reported that Roma are prepared to cash in on Abraham and have named Tottenham as one of the clubs circling over the striker.

The latest publication to make that claim was The Telegraph, who said on Thursday that Spurs, Villa and West Ham were all monitoring the 26-year-old’s situation and were considering offering him a route back to the Premier League.

However, it was explained that Ange Posecoglou’s men were yet to make a firm decision on whether or not to push ahead with a move for the former Chelsea man.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Villa are the favourites to sign Abraham

Gazzetta have now named the same three clubs as well as Everton as the ones eyeing a move for Abraham this summer.

The report reveals that the centre-forward came close to a move to Villa Park last summer, with a €40m deal ‘practically agreed’ at the time before the player suffered a cruciate ligament injury.

It is said that a return to the Midlands is the most likely scenario for Abraham, who previously had a loan spell at Villa when they were in the Championship.

Spurs Web Opinion

I can see why Abraham is on the radar of many Premier League sides but given that the striker only recently returned from a long-term injury, I do not think too many clubs would be prepared to pay a big fee for him this summer.

I think most clubs would insist on an initial loan deal with an option to buy the centre-forward next summer.
