Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham Make 'Approach' to Sign £200,000-a-Week Star - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha over a summer transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs have had a relatively quiet start to the transfer window compared to their fellow 'Big Six' clubs. With Mohammed Kudus through the door, and the young Japanese defender, Kota Takai, signing on the dotted line, that completes the north London side's transfer business so far.

Alongside the loan deals for Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel becoming permanent, the Lilywhites are now awaiting their next incoming. That player that looked to be Morgan Gibbs-White, but a move that has since stalled due to legal issues, it appears Spurs will now turn their attention to Palhinha, having contacted the Portuguese player's camp.

No formal proposal, but further action expected in the coming weeks

Hoping to bolster in the middle of the park, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Frank's side have 'genuine interest' in Palhinha, who has been described as 'world-class', and have made an initial approach to his camp to discuss a move.

Having arrived in Germany just last season, the midfielder managed just 25 games, with a move away from the Bundesliga champions, where he earns £200,000-a-week, appearing most likely.

Having achieved great personal success with Fulham, playing for the Cottagers for two seasons, and establishing himself as a viable Premier League midfielder, it seems a move back to the league is on the cards.

In what would be considered a more than sturdy signing, he will help add depth to the Spurs' midfield, and potentially replace players like Yves Bissouma, who appear more out than in. In addition to the links to Italian defender Giovanni Leoni, it seems Tottenham are getting ready to dabble in the market again.

Description

Thomas Frank and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing up a move for highly-rated Italian centre-back Giovanni Leoni, with an 'official move' for the 18-year-old set to be on the cards.

Having finally achieved silverware in the form of the Europa League, Spurs have taken to the summer transfer window slowly, appearing in no rush to get their business done early. Having converted the loans of Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso into permanent deals, the north London side have further added Mohammed Kudus to their attacking ranks, alongside young defender Koto Takai from Japan.

Nearly adding Morgan Gibbs-White to their side, if not for legal issues arising during the process with Nottingham Forest, Frank's Spurs aren't letting that hold up hinder their plans for further incomings. Already possessing a young squad, another teenager could be on their way to Hotspur Way if reports are to be believed.

Tottenham Set to Make 'Official Move' For Leoni

Spurs set to continue their run of young defensive incomings

As per CaughtOffside, Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Giovanni Leoni of Parma. The Italian U19 international, who has been described as 'one of the most complete teenager centre-backs in Europe', has impressed the footballing world with his mix of technical attributes and defensive awareness.

With clubs aiming to buy young before any prices can be inflated, the report suggests that Parma, managed by Carlos Cuesta, formerly of Arsenal, will accept bids in the range of €35-40m (£30.5-35m).

The going rate for in-demand youngsters, Spurs will have to fend off interest from Newcastle, with Eddie Howe keeping tabs on the youngster. For the Magpies, defensive reinforcements are a must and CaughtOffside sources claim moves from both clubs can be expected soon.

Elsewhere, Leoni has garnered interest from fellow Italian clubs, with Juventus, AC Milan, Napoli, Bologna and Inter Milan all aware of the 18-year-old's progress, as well as Marseille in France, but no attempts at signing the youngster have started at any of these teams.

In what would be Tottenham's third official signing of the summer, Frank will be hoping the Lilywhites will dip back into the market and revisit a move for Gibbs-White, if not another attacking midfielder. An exciting link for Spurs fans, they will be hoping they can continue their streak of successful young signings with Leoni.

Morgan Gibbs-White to Tottenham Update Emerges Amid Pre-Season Camp Arrival - GiveMeSport
Description

Morgan Gibbs-White still wants to join Tottenham despite arriving for pre-season camp with Nottingham Forest, according to TBR Football.

The north London club are looking to strengthen their squad for new manager Thomas Frank ahead of a Champions League campaign, with Kota Takai and Mohammed Kudus already arriving.

But the club have been left in limbo over a move to sign the England playmaker due to a legal complaint from Forest, despite believing they had triggered his £60m release clause, and now an update has emerged.

Gibbs-White Still Wants Tottenham Move

Player has gone on tour with Forest but wants to leave

Gibbs-White initially didn't travel to Portugal with the rest of the Nottingham Forest squad for their pre-season camp due to a personal issue, but has since linked up with the team.

That has led to some speculation that he could stay at the City Ground for the 2025/26 season; however, journalist Graeme Bailey has revealed that the player is still pushing to make the move to north London.

The England international has previously told club owner Evangelos Marinakis that he wants to join Tottenham, and while Forest are still challenging the deal as they never gave Spurs permission to speak to the player yet somehow they triggered a confidential clause in his contract, the Lilywhites are still prioritising finalising a deal.

Forest were hopeful that Man City would come back to the table after showing interest earlier in the window, but the Cityzens are no longer considering a move after signing Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders before the Club World Cup.

In any case, GMS sources understand that Gibbs-White would prefer to join Tottenham even if City did return for him as they can also offer Champions League football alongside a regular spot in the starting lineup.

Frank wants to get a deal for the 25-year-old done sooner rather than later, and Spurs are doing all they can in order to make that happen, but they're currently handicapped by Forest's stance and a deal is currently not any closer to completion.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are willing to lower their asking price for Heung-Min Son to let him join LA FC if he so wishes, GIVEMESPORT sources understand.

New manager Thomas Frank has been looking to put his own stamp on the squad after taking over from Ange Postecolgou in north London this summer, with the arrivals of Kota Takai and Mohammed Kudus confirmed, while a deal for Morgan Gibbs-White hangs in the balance amid a legal challenge from Nottingham Forest.

That has seen the future of captain Son come under question, with MLS side Los Angeles FC emerging as the strongest suitors for his signature, and Spurs are open to accommodating the player's wishes when making a decision.

Tottenham Open to £20m Sale

Wanted £35m but player not interested in Saudi

Son, who has been described as "world-class" and currently earns £190,000-a-week, currently has one year remaining on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the club triggered an option to extend his deal earlier this year.

But they are said to be open to a deal that would allow him to leave this summer, and have set his value at around £35m as they anticipate interest from mega-rich Saudi Arabia.

However, GMS sources understand that the club are aware that Son isn't particularly keen on a move to the Middle East, and would therefore be willing to lower their asking price considerably out of respect for his service and achievements in north London should he want to move.

Tottenham want to part ways with the player on good terms, and it was communicated before the transfer window that a transfer was possible this summer.

The MLS has now emerged as the most likely destination for the South Korea international, and there is an acceptance from Spurs chiefs that a move to that league would never bring about the same sort of money as a move to Saudi.

LA FC Keen on Son Deal

Talks ongoing since June

LA FC have been mooted as the most interested club, with talks said to be ongoing between all parties, and GMS sources understand that a deal has slowly opened up since the beginning of June.

Those talks, plus the fact Spurs want to part on good terms with the legendary forward are why they are more willing to do a deal for the mooted £15-20m, rather than the original £35m asking price.

GIVEMESPORT key statistics: Son has scored 173 goals in 454 appearances for Tottenham, ranking him fourth in the all-time list behind Harry Kane (280), Jimmy Greaves (266) and Bobby Smith (211).

Son joined Tottenham back in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen and has gone on to score 173 goals in 454 appearances for the club, and wore the captains armband as they lifted the Europa League trophy in May - the first trophy of his senior career.

Exclusive: Tottenham 'Frustrated' as Gibbs-White U-Turns on Joining Another Club - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are disappointed that they have been unable to get the deal over the line for Morgan Gibbs-White even though the Nottingham Forest star has remained adamant that he wants to head to Hotspur Way despite his current employers' preference being for him to join Manchester City, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has given new head coach Thomas Frank the green light to spend big on attacking reinforcements, resulting in £55million being forked out to land Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United, and the north Londoners are in the market for further fresh faces as preparations are made for the new season.

Having ended their 17-year wait for silverware in May, when Brennan Johnson's first half goal clinched a narrow win over Manchester United in the Europa League final, Tottenham are desperate to challenge for more honours and are showing plenty of ambition ahead of the transfer window slamming shut on September 1.

Gibbs-White Still Eager to Make Spurs Switch

Attacking midfielder excited by role north Londoners put forward

Tottenham are frustrated that they have been unable to make progress in their pursuit of Gibbs-White, according to GMS sources, and he has performed a U-turn as he has made north London his preferred destination despite previously being keen to embark on a fresh challenge at Manchester City when boss Pep Guardiola showed interest.

Spurs and the creative midfielder's agent have been threatened with legal action by the Tricky Trees, due to the Midlands side's hierarchy being confident there had been an unlawful approach and a breach of confidentiality thanks to his £60million release clause being triggered.

But GMS sources have been informed that Gibbs-White, who played a crucial role in spearheading Nottingham Forest to European qualification during the 2024/25 campaign, wants to join Tottenham and is excited by the role put forward by Frank when the capital club initially tried to secure his services.

The 25-year-old has not travelled with his teammates for the Tricky Trees' pre-season training camp due to a personal matter, which is not transfer-related, and there remains ongoing uncertainty over where he will be plying his trade by the time the upcoming season gets underway next month.

Nottingham Forest's preference is for Gibbs-White to seal a move to Manchester City instead of Tottenham, GMS sources have learned, but his eagerness to take his career to the Etihad Stadium is not as strong as it was when he agreed terms after Guardiola originally showed interest.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Morgan Gibbs-White won six duels and registered two shots during Nottingham Forest's victory over Tottenham Hotspur in April

Gibbs-White's Head Turned By Frank's Vision

England international's ongoing situation remains complicated

GMS sources have been told that Tottenham's interest and plans for Gibbs-White turned his head and gave him a vision of something different compared to what would be on offer at Manchester City, resulting in him prioritising a transfer to north London as he aims to prove he deserves to be involved at the 2026 World Cup.

The four-cap England international has entered the final two years of his £80,000-per-week contract at Nottingham Forest, leading to suitors sniffing an opportunity to pounce, but chief Nuno Espirito Santo and influential figures behind the scenes have been desperate to tie him down to fresh terms.

Gibbs-White has found himself in an awkward situation that remains complicated for Tottenham and Nottingham Forest, GMS sources understand, with the latter starting to find it difficult to bring in marquee signings due to the high-profile drama and there is a lot of frustration among all parties at this stage of proceedings.

GMS sources recently revealed that Spurs have discovered that they will only be able to sign Joao Palhinha permanently, thanks to Bayern Munich being unwilling to sanction a loan departure from the Allianz Arena, and Frank is remaining in the market as he prepares for his first season in charge.

Description

Tottenham have made a ‘shock’ enquiry for Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, journalist Graeme Bailey has claimed.

The Europa League winners have reportedly asked about signing the 20-year-old England international this summer and are keeping close tabs on his situation at Old Trafford.

Mainoo’s current deal with United runs until June 2027, and talks over a new contract remain ‘at a stalemate’, despite having been ongoing for more than 12 months.

Should he become available for transfer this summer, Tottenham would likely be keen to enter the race to sign Mainoo, alongside London rivals Chelsea, who are long-time admirers.

Tottenham Make Kobbie Mainoo Enquiry

The 20-year-old wants to stay at Old Trafford

According to Bailey, Mainoo is keen to remain at Man United this summer, but the ongoing uncertainty over the 'generational' midfielder's contract increases the possibility of a future departure.

United hold an option to extend Mainoo’s current deal by an additional year until June 2028, and talks over a new agreement are still underway.

Mainoo endured a stop-start 2024/25 campaign due to injury and struggled to secure a regular starting spot in Ruben Amorim’s first XI.

The £70m-rated England international made just 19 Premier League starts last season and failed to register a goal contribution in his 1,651 minutes on the pitch.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Mainoo has scored seven times in 72 Manchester United appearances to date.

Tottenham have announced the arrival of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham as their latest signing, and are now believed to be on the lookout for reinforcements to Thomas Frank’s midfield.

According to reports, the Lilywhites have also held talks to sign Bayern Munich ace Joao Palhinha and are considering bringing him back to the Premier League.

After Perri: Leeds Have 'Very Good Chance' to Sign 'Unplayable' Forward

After Perri: Leeds Have 'Very Good Chance' to Sign 'Unplayable' Forward - GiveMeSport
Description

Leeds United may still be able to bring a fan favourite back to the club, despite spending a huge amount of money so far in the summer transfer window, according to reports - with Manor Solomon having a 'very good chance' of returning to Elland Road in the remainder of the summer transfer window.

Solomon, employed by Tottenham Hotspur, only made five Premier League appearances for Spurs in the 2023/24 campaign, struggling to find his way into the first-team under Ange Postecoglou, and that resulted in a loan move to Leeds last season, helping them win the Championship title and reaching 100 points with a last-minute winner against Plymouth Argyle on the final day of the season.

Bailey: Leeds Have 'Very Good Chance' to Bring Solomon in

The Whites are still needing a winger and Solomon could be the man

With Spurs having Son Heung-min, Richarlison, Mathys Tel, Wilson Odobert and Mikey Moore all capable of playing in the left-wing role, Solomon may struggle for minutes in north London - and with Leeds now in the Premier League, the 'unplayable' star has a golden opportunity to return to west Yorkshire in the remainder of the transfer window.

And, according to journalist Graeme Bailey, Daniel Farke's men 'still really like' the Israeli winger, and a deal could be done once he realises that he's not first-choice at Spurs once the first few games of the season are underway. He told TBR Football:

"Leeds still really like Manor Solomon.

“I think there’s a very good chance after a couple of games once we get into the start of the season and Solomon sees he’s not first choice at Spurs and involved — I think we could see him at Leeds.

“Leeds still like him an awful lot, I think there’s a very good chance Solomon still ends up at Elland Road.

“For the sake of Leeds going for their second choice, they may as well hang on. They wanted Solomon and he’s not going to be particularly expensive. So I think he is in their minds.”

Solomon was linked with a move to Leeds earlier in the window, for a fee of around £15million.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Manor Solomon has seven goals in 44 caps for Israel.

So far, they've signed Jake Bijol, Sebastian Bornauw, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach, with a move for Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri also imminently on the cards. Those incomings have proven to be an outlay of around £75million, and there may still be money left to bring the Israeli in alongside supposed target Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz.

Not Wissa: Tottenham Want to Sign 'Real Killer' Striker, Club Open to Sale - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a deal to sign Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo this summer with the Ligue 1 side open to a sale, according to RMC Sport.

The north London club are keen to strengthen their attack for Thomas Frank this summer and want a striker to compete with Dominic Solanke, having already added Ghana star Mohammed Kudus to their squad in a £55m deal.

While there is interest in Brentford striker Yoane Wissa, the club are being met with resistance by his club, and are now looking at a move for an alternative option instead.

Tottenham Want to Sign Kalimuendo

Rennes will sell for between £26-30m

Kalimuendo, who has been described as a 'real killer' by analyst Ben Mattinson, has emerged as a potential target for the Lilywhites after the Ligue 1 side admitted that they would be open to a deal.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a fine 2024/25 campaign where he scored 17 goals in 33 appearances, and that has attracted the attention of several clubs across Europe including Spurs.

Rennes would be willing to sell the Frenchman for a fee of between €30m-35m (£26m-30m), and that has sparked the attention of the north London side as they look for more attacking options for the upcoming season.

The player is out of contract in 2027 and Rennes are considering cashing in to ensure they get maximum value for their star man, which is a very different stance to what Brentford are currently taking for Wissa.

The DR Congo star wants to leave the club to pursue his dream of playing Champions League football, with Frank open to a reunion with the 29-year-old. However, Brentford don't want to sell despite him having just one year left on his deal plus the option of a further 12 months.

The Bees are valuing Wissa in excess of £50m and Spurs face stiff competition from Newcastle from his signature, which could see Kalimuendo provide a more realistic and easier alternative.

Tottenham Make Club-Record Offer to Sign 'Unbelievable' Star, Asking Price Met

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have submitted a club-record offer to sign Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

Spurs are entering a new era under manager Thomas Frank after he was brought in from Brentford to replace Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked at the end of the 2024/2025 season. Adding a new centre-back could be one of Tottenham's priorities, especially if Frank opts to play a three-at-the-back as he did at Brentford.

So far in the summer transfer window, Spurs have added Mohammed Kudus to their squad, joining the north London club from West Ham United earlier in the month. Mathys Tel also made his loan move from Bayern Munich permanent, and Daniel Levy is clearly showing he wants to back Frank in the market this summer.

Tottenham Make Club-Record Offer for Zabaryni

PSG are also keen on the defender

Speaking on The Transfers Podcast, Castles has confirmed that Tottenham have now submitted a club-record bid to sign Bournemouth's Zabarnyi, offering in the region of £60m. This bid surpasses the initial £55m Spurs paid for Dominic Solanke and does meet Bournemouth's asking price for the Ukrainian international...

“But Tottenham, one of several Premier League clubs who are unsurprisingly interested in the 22-year-old, one of the quickest centre-backs in the Premier League and almost a perfect attendance record in the Premier League over his two seasons at Bournemouth. Guidance from Bournemouth is that Tottenham have offered €70m [£60m] for the player, which is owner Bill Foley’s asking price, and which would represent a new club record transfer fee for Tottenham, exceeding the initial £55m with £10m of variables that they paid Bournemouth for Dominic Solanke last summer.”

Zabarnyi has been a superb addition for the Cherries, forming a strong partnership with Dean Huijsen before his much-deserved move to Real Madrid. The Ukrainian perhaps didn't get the credit he should have considering Huijsen's performances alongside him, but it appears that Tottenham are appreciative of the displays he's produced during his time at Bournemouth.

Description

Tottenham are ready to rival several Premier League clubs in the race for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, according to AS journalist Eduardo Burgos.

The Europa League winners are reportedly looking to make another ‘statement’ signing this transfer window and have identified the Brazil international as a potential target.

Rodrygo faces an uncertain future in the Spanish capital under new boss Xabi Alonso and is set to hold talks with the former Bayer Leverkusen manager over his role in the team and a possible departure.

The 23-year-old made just three appearances under Alonso during the Club World Cup, where Real were eliminated in the semi-finals by eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain.

Tottenham Eyeing Deal to Sign Rodrygo

Among Premier League clubs keen on the Brazilian

According to AS, Tottenham could face stiff competition for Rodrygo from a number of Premier League and European sides, with Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Chelsea all showing interest.

Spurs are reportedly unwilling to pay a ‘crazy’ fee for the Brazilian, and chairman Daniel Levy is expected to try and negotiate Real’s asking price down to below €90m (£78m).

Rodrygo, who joined Real from Santos in 2019, is under contract until June 2028 and is reportedly seeking a wage package of around £250,000 per week at his next club.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Rodrygo has scored 68 goals in 270 appearances for Real Madrid.

Tottenham have already bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham this summer and have also secured Mathys Tel on a permanent deal.

The Lilywhites remain interested in Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White, although talks between the clubs have stalled following a £60m bid.
