Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly showing an interest in signing former Aston Villa winger Moussa Diaby on January transfer deadline day, per Miguel Delaney of The Independent.

Thomas Frank is eager to bolster his attacking options amid a disappointing start to life in charge of Spurs. Brennan Johnson left the club earlier this month and joined Crystal Palace in a club-record £35 million deal.

Tottenham are believed to be eyeing a new winger before the window slams shut at 7 PM GMT, and Diaby could be on the move. The Al-Ittihad winger has been in the Saudi Pro League since the summer of 2024, when he joined the Saudi outfit from Villa.

Tottenham Eyeing Late Diaby Deal

Spurs are looking to rival Inter Milan for Diaby, who has been in fine form this season, posting three goals and 12 assists in 26 games across competitions. He has Premier League experience, having spent a year at Villa, and his departure in a £50m deal surprised some, given his impressive displays in the Midlands.

Diaby is "open to returning to a Champions League club," and Frank's Lilywhites are through to the last 16 of Europe's elite competition. They could hold an advantage over Inter because the Serie A giants will face either Benfica or Bodo/Glimt in the knockout playoffs.

It's claimed that the North Londoners will need to act fast, and the Frenchman is weighing up his options amid Inter's interest. A return to the Premier League could be enticing, given he has already experienced English football, and adapting would perhaps be easier than that of a Serie A move.

Frank admitted that his squad had weakened this month due to Johnson's departure, and he'll want to freshen up his attack, which has failed to convince this season. A 2-2 comeback draw against Manchester City the day before deadline day has lifted the mood, and an acquisition of Diaby's status could further help get the club back on track.

Diaby boasts electric pace and instinctive finishing, which were on display during his time at Villa. He would add much-needed energy to a stagnant frontline that has managed 35 goals in the league this season.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been contacted over a deadline-busting deal to sign Al-Nassr striker Jhon Duran before Monday's 7pm cut-off point, according to TEAMtalk.

Spurs have been keen to add a new forward to Thomas Frank's squad this month following the departure of Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace, but they have so far failed to do so.

Tottenham were trying to bring Antoine Semenyo to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from Bournemouth last month, but Manchester City won the race for the Ghana international, who scored against them on Sunday in the Premier League.

Duran Wants Premier League Return

According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham have been contacted by Duran's representatives as he looks to secure a return to the Premier League just one year after leaving Aston Villa for the Saudi Pro League in a £71m deal.

The Colombia international had looked set to complete a move to Lille in this window, but after a deal collapsed his agents have been scrambling around to secure a move elsewhere in Europe.

His loan club Fenerbahce are ready to sanction a move away, while there is no chance of him returning to Al-Nassr right now, meaning his entourage are looking to secure a different move before the deadline.

Tottenham, along with Nottingham Forest and Leeds United, have been reminded of the 'phenomenal' 22-year-old's availability ahead of the deadline, with the striker deciding a return to England was his new priority.

Duran scored 12 goals in 18 games for Al-Nassr before moving to Turkey on a season-long loan deal last summer, where he has scored five goals in 21 for Fenerbahce.

Considering his young years, Duran's record of 20 goals in 78 matches for Villa was quite impressive, especially given he often made his appearances for the Villans from the substitutes' bench.

Ditch Attempt To Sign Liverpool Man

Description

Tottenham made another call to Liverpool to see if they could get a late deadline day move for Andy Robertson over the line before the January transfer window closes.

Spurs have been chasing reinforcements to bolster Thomas Frank's ailing squad all day - and all window - to no avail, and Robertson was one of their top targets in January.

Liverpool allowed Tottenham to talk to the 31-year-old earlier in the window, with the anticipation that he would move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer, when he became a free agent.

Liverpool Set Out Clear Demands For Robertson Sale

However, that changed into a potential January move following talks, providing Liverpool could get a replacement in. The Reds tried to get Kostas Tsimikas back from his loan spell with Roma, but were unable to do so, with the Italian side themselves unable to obtain a replacement.

That left Spurs - who have already signed one left-back in the January transfer window when they brought in teenager Souza from Brazilian side Santos - having to wait once again until the summer to bring Robertson in.

However, with injuries to full-backs Djed Spence, Ben Davies and Pedro Porro, the Lilywhites did make one last-ditch effort to get their man from Anfield on deadline day.

Sky Sports News reporter Michael Bridge revealed that Spurs had made a final call to see if they could tempt Liverpool to part with the Scotland international on deadline day.

Liverpool Respond to Tottenham Call

Speaking outside the club's training ground in Enfield, he said: "Our information was that a check call has gone in just to see if Liverpool’s position has changed as to the availability of Andy Robertson, but that's a no."

Robertson is out of contract at Anfield in the summer and will be able to leave the Reds on a free transfer, which makes more financial sense for Spurs.

Liverpool did not stand in his way of leaving the club, given everything he has achieved with them in a nine-year career, and has been described as a 'club legend' by the Athletic's Liverpool reporter Andy Jones. Henry Winter also called Robertson 'elite' when discussing the workload placed on modern-day footballers, too.

Tottenham Transfer Window Leaves A Lot To Be Desired

GIVEMESPORT understands Tottenham went into January in the market for a defensive midfielder, a left winger and a striker and look like they will fail to add any players in those positions to their squad before the window shuts - unless you count Conor Gallagher as a defensive midfielder. They could, however, add a talented young player to their academy.

You can read the full story on that below.

Tottenham Eyeing Deadline Day Deal to Sign Jhon Duran

Tottenham Eyeing Deadline Day Deal for £71m Striker - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are being mentioned over making a last-gasp deadline day move to sign Al-Nassr striker Jhon Duran, according to transfer specialist Dean Jones.

Spurs have been linked with bringing in a new attacker during the January transfer window, and have already missed out on a deal to sign Antoine Semenyo, with Manchester City winning the race to sign the Ghana international from Bournemouth.

Tottenham may look to add a new face to their frontline before Monday's 7pm deadline, but the situation is also being complicated by the fact that Randal Kolo Muani is still being linked with an exit from the north London outfit today.

Juventus Knocking on Door for Kolo Muani

According to Jones, posting on X on Monday morning, the Serie A giants are still pushing to land Kolo Muani.

Fabrizio Romano reported last week that Juventus had made a phone call over a deal for the 27-year-old, following rumours that the Frenchman was ready to explore a shock January exit for more playing time.

Kolo Muani's time on loan at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has largely been underwhelming, with Football London journalist Alasdair Gold deeming it unlikely that Spurs would consider signing him permanently this summer.

The forward has three goals and three assists in 25 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this term, starting 12 of their 18 Premier League fixtures in 2025-26.

Of course, the France international is only on a season-long loan at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from Paris Saint-Germain, so a deal would need to be agreed for a termination of the loan, before Juve and PSG then negotiate a new agreement in the next few hours.

Should that end up happening, Spurs are reportedly looking at a move for former Aston Villa star Duran.

It would also be a complicated move for ENIC to complete, with the 'phenomenal' Colombia international currently on loan at Turkish side Fenerbahce from the Saudi Pro League.

Duran moved to Al-Nassr in a deal worth £71m one year ago, but he lasted just six months before being loaned out for the season to Fenerbahce.

After scoring 12 goals in 18 games for the Saudi club, the 22-year-old has five in 21 for Fenerbahce this term.

Alasdair Gold Tips Tottenham to Make 'Left-Field' Deadline Day Signing - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make a late transfer move for a forward on deadline day that is "out of left-field" according to Alasdair Gold.

GIVEMESPORT understands that Spurs went into the January transfer window wanting a defensive midfielder, a left forward and a striker and, unless you count Conor Gallagher as a defensive midfielder, they have not managed to fill any of those roles.

Time is now running out to bring any new signings into the club, with the January window closing at 7pm on February 2.

Maghnes Akliouche and Jhon Duran In The Frame

Plenty of names have been linked with a move to north London - Jhon Duran and Maghnes Akliouche chief among them, but with time running out, football.london's Tottenham correspondent Gold believes there may be something happening in the background that no one knows about.

After all, Spurs have recent history of that, with a move for Wilson Odobert being confirmed barely two hours after an initial link popped up with the former Burnley forward in 2024.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Gold said: "Spurs are going to have to get really creative. I think we're going to get something left-field, something out of the woodwork is going to emerge."

Who Could Tottenham Sign To Bolster Thomas Frank's Squad?

"You're going to see so many links with Spurs because people know that they're looking for attacking players, so there's going to be so many stories.

"There will be agents using Tottenham to get their players a move somewhere or just to get them a new contract. I just feel like something's going to come out of left-field that none of us expected and a name that's not been reported."

Spurs came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, with Thomas Frank's patched up side digging their head coach out from further pressure that was heaping on his shoulders.

Tottenham Fans Will Not Be Happy With Transfer Window

And Gold believes questions will be asked if Tottenham do not make any moves on deadline day.

He added: "They're going to have to pull something out of the bag in quite dramatic style really, otherwise questions are going to quite rightly be asked about the ambition and the planning behind this window.

"It's a window where they've sold last season's top scorer, spent the money on a central midfielder, brought in a 19-year-old left-back and suffered a billion injuries in the squad. The squad has not been improved as a whole."

Tottenham Make Contact Over Deal to Sign 'Special' Brazilian Star From Real Madrid

Tottenham Make Contact Over Deal to Sign 'Special' Brazilian Star From Real Madrid - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made an enquiry over the potential signing of Real Madrid youngster Endrick, who is currently on loan at Lyon in France, according to Fichajes.

It could be a busy end to the January transfer window for Spurs, as they aim to improve Thomas Frank's squad after a disappointing start to the season. So far this month, the north London club have secured the signatures of young left-back Souza and England international midfielder Conor Gallagher, but we might see further incomings before the deadline.

Endrick recently completed his move to Lyon on loan, and he's already flourishing in Ligue 1 after falling out of favour at Real Madrid. Considering his impact and development at Lyon, a move for Spurs would have to be in the summer transfer window, but they appear to be keen on bringing him to the Premier League.

Tottenham Eyeing Real Madrid Starlet

According to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham have made an enquiry to sign Real Madrid youngster Endrick ahead of a possible move to north London. The youngster, described as 'special', is attracting interest from a host of clubs after an impressive spell with Lyon.

Real Madrid are believed to be aware of the interest in the Brazilian, but they are now considering any 'hasty decisions', as they believe Endrick is still an important asset. It's a bit of an ideal situation for Madrid, with Endrick flourishing and developing as they'd expect while out on loan.

Interest is undoubtedly going to grow in their young forward as his loan spell with Lyon continues, especially if his form heads in the direction it's currently heading in. So far for the French side, Endrick has scored four goals and provided a single assist in just 440 minutes of football.

Tottenham Fans Might Want Additions ASAP

With Tottenham's current injury situation worsening, Spurs fans might want to see additions brought through the door in the coming days, rather than working on deals for the summer transfer window. Endrick is going to be signing on the dotted line in time for the window closing, and Spurs need players in for the second half of the campaign.

Kevin Danso is the latest player to join the injury list, meaning Spurs had around 13 senior players available for their game against Manchester City at the weekend.

Premier League Post Statement After Controversial Decision in Spurs 2

Premier League Release Statement After Controversial Decision in Spurs 2-2 Man City - GiveMeSport
Description

Pep Guardiola was furious after Manchester City's 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League as he believed that Spurs' first strike should've been disallowed for a foul on Marc Guehi. The Premier League have released an official statement to clear up their decision.

It was a routine first half for Guardiola's men: they drew first blood inside 11 minutes of play through Rayan Cherki, City's primary threat on the evening. The Frenchman's right-footed effort evaded the outstretched arm of Guglielmo Vicario before Antoine Semenyo doubled their lead.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Before today, they had won on each of the last 115 occasions when leading by 2+ goals at the break (all competitions).

A totally different second 45 ensued, however, and Dominic Solanke was at the double. The English striker (who has missed large parts of the current campaign) struck twice within 17 minutes to earn a point for the home outfit, though neither side were able to find a dramatic winner at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Premier League Release Statement Regarding Tottenham's Second Goal in 2-2 Draw with City

Although Spurs will be delighted with the one point earned, many are under the assumption that their first goal should've been chalked off. Spurs, by this point, had grown into the match and were causing the odd problem for City – and that rang true in the 55th minute as Solanke prodded home.

Initially, the goal went down as an own goal from Guehi, who moved to City from Crystal Palace in January, but it was later reversed and given to Solanke.

However, on a second glance, it may be more contentious than first thought. As Solanke – who opened his 2025/26 Premier League account with his brace – went to fire his effort towards Gianluigi Donnarumma, Guehi got his leg in the way to block the shot and Solanke followed through.

The footage, as seen below, proves there was a leg collision between Spurs' Solanke and City's Guehi. VAR, however, did not intervene, and the goal was given – first as a Guehi own goal before being overturned and issued to Solanke.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Premier League Match Centre explained the decision by deeming that Solanke had played the ball, accrediting the goal to the English striker rather than ruling it as a Guehi own goal.

"The referee’s call of goal was checked and confirmed by VAR – with the challenge by Solanke on Guehi deemed not to be a foul as Solanke played the ball. The goal accreditation panel has adjudged the goal to be a Solanke goal."

Guardiola Fumes About Referee's Decision to Allow Solanke's Goal to Stand

Speaking after a share of the spoils were picked up in north London, Guardiola said: "Once again... Have you seen it? Nothing,” he said, before appearing on the verge of walking out of the interview. "It's happened once again. What can I say? Marc [Guehi] has the ball, he's been kicked from behind, and it's a goal. Nothing. What can I say? One more."

Speaking to BBC Sport, Guardiola added: "Well, if you do it to a striker it would be a penalty. I'm not a referee. "Fascinating in the Premier League."

Tottenham Make Final Mathys Tel Transfer Decision After Thomas Frank Talks

Tottenham Make Final Mathys Tel Transfer Decision After Thomas Frank Talks - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham have decided that Mathys Tel will not leave the club before Monday's transfer deadline after he held talks with Thomas Frank, according to Fabrice Hawkins.

Spurs have had a mixed season so far after being eliminated from both domestic cups and now sitting in 14th in the Premier League table ahead of their clash with Man City on Sunday, while they already qualified for the Last 16 in the Champions League after finishing fourth in the league phase.

But Tel had been looking to leave the club this month after a lack of regular first-team game time, before he was omitted from the Champions League squad for a second time, with several European clubs showing an interest in his services.

Mathys Tel to Stay at Tottenham

Tel had become a target for the likes of Paris FC, AS Roma, Lille, Marseille, and Atletico Madrid among others, with the player keen to get more game time under his belt in the hope of making a late push to be part of Didier Deschamps' France squad for the World Cup.

Spurs were reluctant to let the Frenchman depart, however, with a number of injuries in the squad leaving Frank thin on the ground for options. Richarlison and Mohammed Kudus are currently out until March, while James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski haven't featured this season and Dominic Solanke has only just returned after almost six months out.

Tel was given a brief run in the side and performed well, but he was then shocked by news that he had been removed from the Champions League list to allow Solanke to be included, which sparked major frustration.

However, it has now emerged that the player and manager have had talks over his future, and the manager has explained his plans for the forward which has convinced Tel to stay put until the end of the season at least.

Tottenham Must Use Tel or Risk Losing Him

It's clear that Tel is an unbelievably talented forward, and that's why Bayern Munich demanded such a high fee to let him leave last year.

However, his development has stagnated after a lack of regular game time, and it's only right that such a talent looks to play elsewhere if he's not given opportunities.

Spurs have to find a way to play him regularly, and his recent performances deserve a run in the team. If they don't do that, then it's inevitable that he will be on the move.

Tottenham Eyeing Move to Sign Club Brugge Wonderkid Alexander Stankovic

Tottenham Eyeing Move to Sign Record-Breaking Midfield Wonderkid - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs eyeing a move for Club Brugge's midfield sensation Alexander Stankovic, according to reliable journalist Matteo Moretto.

Spurs have had a poor domestic campaign so far this season, sitting 14th in the Premier League table ahead of their clash against Manchester City in Sunday, while they have also been eliminated from the FA Cup, and Carabao Cup. However, they have had success in Europe, qualifying for the Last 16 after finishing fourth in the league phase of the Champions League.

But the club are keen to strengthen the squad going forward, and a talented young midfielder has emerged as someone they are keeping a very close eye on as a result of his performances this season.

Tottenham Eyeing Alexander Stankovic Move

Stankovic, who is the son of legendary midfielder Dejan, has become one of Europe's top young midfielders this season after joining Brugge from Inter Milan in the summer.

His performances saw him become the youngest Serbian goalscorer in World Cup qualifying for over a decade, and have attracted the attention of a number of top clubs across the continent.

While appearing on Fabrizio Romano's YouTube channel, Moretto revealed that Spurs have sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old regularly this season, but despite their interest, his future remains in the hands of Inter Milan due to the terms of the deal that took him to Belgium.

“Many English clubs have gone to watch him and scout him live – Tottenham, Manchester United, lots of teams," he said.

“But Inter are continuing to follow Stankovic’s development, and they’re staying very calm. Why? Because they have the option to bring him back home either in summer 2026 (July 2026) by paying €23 million, or in July 2027 by paying €25 million. So basically, in the end, it’s all in Inter’s hands.”

Tottenham Midfield Full of Gems

Tottenham have always been a great place for top young talents to go and develop, and their current midfield options show that. Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray are considered to be two of the top midfield prospects in Europe, while the likes of Mathys Tel, Xavi Simons, Pape Matar Sarr, and Wilson Odobert are also shining.

The addition of Stankovic would be a brilliant signing, but whether he would have the same impact in the Premier League remains to be seen. He's clearly super talented, and Spurs are smart to be in the mix, but they face tough competition and it won't be an easy deal to get done.

Kolo Muani Given Green Light To Leave Tottenham

Kolo Muani Given Green Light To Leave Tottenham - GiveMeSport
Description

There has been a lot of speculation around Randal Kolo Muani's future during this January transfer window, with Juventus keen on re-loaning the Paris Saint-Germain frontman who has spent this season with Tottenham Hotspur.

It has not exactly been a dream loan in north London for the 27-year-old, whose only goal contributions have come in cup competition - three goals and two assists in the Champions League and one assists in the FA Cup.

He has yet to find the back of the net in 15 Premier League appearances, nor provide an assist for a teammate.

Juventus Given Green Light To Sign Kolo Muani

Kolo Muani spent the second half of last season on loan with Juventus and, by contrast, scored eight goals and laid on one assist in 16 Serie A appearances. The Italian giants were keen on re-signing him at the beginning of this season, but could not make a deal happen and Spurs swooped.

Now, Kolo Muani could be heading back to Turin on transfer deadline day.

According to TuttoSport, PSG have given Juventus the "green light" to sign the striker on transfer deadline day, with the player's salary to be covered by the Italian side for the remainder of the campaign.

The report goes on to state that Juve are in close contact with the player's representatives and that he is keen on a return to Italy after a nightmare time in England with Spurs.

Thomas Frank Says No To Transfer

However, there is a catch with any deal being completed before the 7pm deadline on Monday - Tottenham boss Thomas Frank is likely to block the move.

In a curt response to a question during his press conference on Friday, Frank explained Spurs' stance. When asked if he wanted to keep Kolo Muani, he replied: "Yes, next question."

Tottenham do not want to lose another forward before the transfer window closes, without bringing in a replacement and time is running out to do so.

Kolo Muani Will Get Transfer Hint On Sunday

Spurs were linked with Jean-Philippe Mateta, who wants out of Crystal Palace, but the Frenchman looks set to join AC Milan instead.

With Richarlison injured, Dominic Solanke - himself just recovering from injury - would be Spurs' only recognised striker were Kolo Muani to leave.

Kolo Muani is likely to be part of the Spurs squad to take on Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, with Frank having all too few options for his matchday squads.
