Postecoglou delivers incredible Tottenham rant in defence of Forest job - GiveMeSport
Description

Ange Postecoglou did not hold back when he was asked, yet again, about his Nottingham Forest future.

The Australian has been under pressure at the City Ground almost since he arrived through the door to replace Nuno Espirito Santo - himself a former Tottenham head coach.

Forest have failed to win any of their seven games in all competitions since Postecoglou took over and the pressure is on the new manager to turn things around, or face the chop for the second time in four months.

Postecoglou was sacked by Tottenham in the summer, despite having guided them to their first trophy in 17 years by lifting the Europa League crown. Spurs had finished 17th in the Premier League, however, leading to then chairman Daniel Levy wielding the axe.

Now, with the pressure on at Forest, Postecoglou has launched a staunch defence, not only of his time in north London, but of his current position at the City Ground.

Here's every word from what was a quite extraordinary rant about Tottenham and his current situation during his Nottingham Forest press conference ahead of the weekend's game with Chelsea.

I don't fit

"I guess from my perspective I just don't fit, not here, just in general," he started. "If you look at things through the prism that I am a failed manager who is lucky to get this job, I know you're smirking at me, but that's what's been said, then of course these first five weeks looks like this guy is under pressure. But there is an alternative story...

"I came to the Premier League two years ago and I took over at Tottenham, I was told by the chairman [Daniel Levy] that this club has to win a trophy. He said we've tried to bring winners in: Jose [Mourinho], Antonio Conte, and it hasn't worked. We need something different. I was slightly offended by that because I see myself as winner.

"I took over Spurs who finished eighth. Massive club, but no European football, and one that can't go two years without European football. We finished fifth in my first year and every time Harry Kane scores a goal [for Bayern after leaving Spurs] I go, 'I wish he stayed just one more year'. It would have been handy to have him after finishing fifth.

"But somehow that [first] year has disappeared from the record books. It was even used as a reason for me losing my job because even Tottenham decided to exclude the first ten games. Yet the first ten games here [at Forest] are important apparently.

We needed a trophy

"But anyway, we finished fifth. I got them back into European football, which is where a club like Tottenham should be. Then I was in [post-season] meetings and was told we need a trophy because it will mean everything to the football club. That's fine.

"We win a trophy. We shed the tag of being 'Spursy'. [We get] Champions League football, which brings some rewards and the opportunity to bring greater players. But all I have heard since I finished at Tottenham is that we finished 17th last year.

"So if you look at it through the prism of finishing 17th, then I am a failed manager who is lucky to get another opportunity. But again, if I have to explain why we finished 17th, it's really basic. It doesn't have to be too in-depth.

Party time

"Just look at the last five or six teamsheets of last season to see what I prioritised [the Europa League], and who was on the bench. And the last game against Brighton, the players were out partying for two days, which I sanctioned because I felt they deserved to. So yes we finished 17th. But if people think that's a reflection of me and my coaching then again, I think they are looking at it through the prism of I just don't fit.

"So we get to the current space [at Forest] where there is a different story to tell, that maybe I am not a failed manager who was lucky to get this job and instead maybe I am a manager who, if you give him time, the story always ends the same. At all my previous clubs, [it ends] with me and a trophy."

Description

Juventus have rebuffed an enquiry from Tottenham for midfielder Khephren Thuram and consider the Frenchman ‘untouchable’ despite significant Premier League interest, journalist Graeme Bailey has revealed.

The north London side are believed to have made contact regarding the 24-year-old over the course of the last six months but saw their initial attempts to enter discussions for Thuram rebuffed ‘very quickly’.

The Frenchman has been one of Juventus’ standout players since arriving in Turin from French side Nice last summer and has continually been on the radar of several top clubs throughout the year.

While Premier League sides had the chance to sign Thuram before his move to Juventus in 2024, securing the midfielder now appears to be a difficult task, with Juventus having no interest in letting him go amid his ‘spectacular’ first 15 months at the club.

Tottenham Make Khephren Thuram Enquiry

According to Bailey, Juventus consider both Thuram and Kenan Yildiz ‘untouchable’ amid reported interest from Premier League clubs, with transfer chief Damien Comolli a particular admirer of the duo:

“Thuram is one of those players that Premier League clubs had the chance to land before Juve took him from Nice.

“Juve took that chance and have been rewarded, Thuram’s form since arriving in Italy has been spectacular – he was not even in the France squad, let alone pushing for a starting spot, he has really kicked on.

“Now, along with Yildiz, Comolli believes he has something special, and he is getting calls – we know that, but they have no interest in letting either of these two go, they are both deemed as ‘untouchable’ by Juve at this point.”

Thuram, who is under contract in Turin until June 2029, made 51 appearances for Juventus in his first season at the club, scoring five goals and providing eight assists in all competitions.

The midfielder was also named in the 2024/25 Serie A Team of the Season alongside former Premier League stars David de Gea, Scott McTominay and Christian Pulisic.

Tottenham’s summer business saw the Lilywhites spend heavily on reinforcements in attack, with Thomas Frank’s side securing deals for Xavi Simons, Mohammed Kudus, Mathys Tel and Randal Kolo Muani, who joined on loan.

Son Heung-min Has 'David Beckham Clause' in LAFC Contract - Could Make Shock PL Return

Son Heung-min Has 'David Beckham Clause' in LAFC Contract - Could Make Shock PL Return - GiveMeSport
Description

Son Heung-min's Premier League career may not be over just yet due to a reported clause in his contract with MLS side Los Angeles FC, which could see him follow in the footsteps of David Beckham and Thierry Henry. The South Korean made the move to the United States in the summer after leaving Tottenham Hotspur as a Europa League winner.

The 33-year-old has made an excellent start to life at BMO Stadium and already has eight goals and three assists in nine MLS outings. He reunited with his former Spurs teammate Hugo Lloris, whom he purportedly earns over $200,000 more than in California.

Son is the latest high-profile European footballer to move to the USA, following Lionel Messi's arrival at Beckham's co-owned Inter Miami in the summer of 2023. But he could make a brief return to Europe, where he became one of the most highly-admired Asian talents the game has ever seen.

'Beckham Clause' Could Lead To Son's PL Return

Spurs and Son decided it was time to part ways in the summer, after a decade during which the Lilywhites' faithful fell in love with the South Korea captain. He formed one of the most formidable when he starred up front with Harry Kane.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Son Heung-min and Harry Kane are the most prolific forward duo in Premier League history (47 combined goals)

While he remained in North London for the Europa League triumph last season, Kane exited and headed to Bayern Munich to end his wait for a trophy. The 31-year-old English striker isn't leaving Europe anytime soon, but his former teammate may still have unfinished business.

SunSport reports that there is a clause in Son's contract with LAFC which allows him to make a loan switch during the MLS' off-season. This arrangement led to Beckham joining AC Milan from LA Galaxy during the latter stages of his playing career.

Henry, too, took the opportunity to keep playing during the off-season by making an emotional return to Arsenal. It's highly unlikely but Son could even swiftly but temporarily reunite with Spurs if Thomas Frank felt he could use his experience.

It's thought that the former Bayer Leverkusen man will plan his off-season with the 2026 FIFA World Cup in mind. This could see him rest in preparation for South Korea's participation in the USA, Mexico and Canada.

Son turned down potential moves to European clubs and snubbed interest from Saudi Arabia to head to the MLS. He has become the league's highest-paid player, taking home $250,000 per week, putting him ahead of Messi, who is on $230,760 per week (via Capology).

If the Spurs hero's clause were to be triggered, he'd be able to play European football for around three or four months. His proven knack of finding the back of the net could come in handy for any side looking for an emergency attacking signing.

Paratici Eyeing 'Phenomenal' Rangers Star for Tottenham in Record-Breaking Deal - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin, and it could lead to a record sale for the Ibrox outfit, according to a report from TEAMtalk.

Raskin has endured a difficult start to the 2025/2026 season, as he wasn't a guaranteed starter in the opening few weeks of the campaign. Under Russell Martin, Raskin had to work his way into the starting XI, and he's started just four league games for the Glasgow giants, despite being a regular for his country.

It's been a strong start to the campaign for Spurs, but we could see them strengthen in the January transfer window. Thomas Frank hasn't had long in charge of the north London club, and he'll still be working out his squad and his best side, so we could see them dip into the market after assessing the situation of the first half of the campaign.

Tottenham Enter Race to Sign Nico Raskin

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are the latest club to express an interest in signing Rangers midfielder Raskin ahead of the January transfer window, with Spurs likely to prioritise the signing of a new addition in the middle of the park. It's claimed that a record-breaking sale would be needed for Rangers to sanction an exit, while Raskin did express his desire to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

Rangers could demand in the region of £20m-£25m to allow Raskin to depart, but it will be interesting to see their stance if the Belgian international pushes for a departure. His behaviour in the summer led to Martin axeing him from the squad, but he's a crucial player that the new manager will likely want heavily involved.

Spurs could look to take advantage of Rangers' managerial situation. Russell Martin was sacked before the international break, and the Glasgow club are yet to find a replacement. There's no guarantee Raskin will develop a strong relationship with whichever new coach comes in, allowing Tottenham to swoop in to try and tempt him with a move to England.

Tottenham Make Bold £1bn Decision to Usurp Premier League Rivals after Takeover Talk - GiveMeSport
Description

Daniel Levy was the most influential man at Tottenham Hotspur for the best part of a quarter of a century.

That’s why when it was communicated that Levy would be stepping down from his role as executive chairman of the club on September 4, and moving back from all leadership roles at Spurs, although keeping his shareholding, it was a seismic development at a club who have seen enormous growth off the pitch, but less so on it during the Levy reign.

Levy has been very vocally criticised by Spurs, especially in recent months, with the perceived lack of investment in the product on the pitch when the club has grown enormously off it, the cause of much ire among Spurs fans. The goodwill that arrived from the delivery of a world-class stadium in 2019 dissipated pretty swiftly as the product on the pitch failed to match what surrounded them.

A succession of managers came and went after the departure of the popular Mauricio Pochettino, with Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, Antonio Conte, Ange Postecoglou and, now, Thomas Frank being tasked with delivering glory.

Levy was seen as someone who kept too tight a grip on the purse strings. But does the data back that up? Between 2019 and 2024, the most recently published financial accounts from the football club, Spurs had a gross transfer spend of £830m, putting them fifth out of the so-called ‘big six’, with Liverpool behind them. As of 2024, the squad cost was also the highest that it had ever been at the club, sitting at almost £700m, up from the £579m it had been 12 months previously. Since 2016, the squad cost at the club had risen 298%, from £175m.

But, Levy is now out of Spurs, at least from holding any influence or operational control, and the focus, for the first time for a while, has been placed back on the owners of the football club - ENIC, rather than the former chairman, who served as something of a lighting rod for criticism when it came to the Joe Lewis-owned ENIC enterprise.

Tottenham Takeover Rumours Continue

Rumours of a potential takeover at Spurs have swirled round for a long time. Ever since the completion of the stadium, done at a time before interest rates and the cost of borrowing shot up, Spurs has been seen as a prime piece of football real estate. A club nestled in North London, with transport links, a dense urban population in one of the world’s most populous cities, a stadium that had been completed and had long-term contracts with the likes of the NFL in place, the ability to host multiple concerts per year, heightened chance of European football and a manageable payroll in comparison to their rivals.

Jahm Najafi’s MSP Sports Capital had been linked with a purchase back in 2023 at a price north of £3bn, but that particular deal never materialised. The same can be said for reported interest from one-time Manchester United bidder Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, while former Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley has long been rumoured to be spearheading an investment play on behalf of a Middle Eastern consortium.

American tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick recently ‘launched’ a £4.5bn takeover bid, only for Spurs to distance themselves from such a bid, and Earick and his backers said to have withdrawn interest after being given firm rebuttal from the Lewis family.

Tottenham in Line for Further £75m Boost After £100m Injection

Last week saw the club get a £100m cash injection from ENIC. The reason: “to equip the club’s leadership team with additional resources to continue the focus on driving long-term sporting success”. What that boils down to, essentially, is investment in the playing squad in a bid to make the team, which has had an encouraging start under Frank, more competitive.

For Spurs, being a part of the Champions League this season is a major boon. The best case scenario for Spurs this season, taking into account prize money, participation fees, the value pillar, matchday revenue and their record in the competition already, is north of £130m. That would require a flawless record from here on in and winning the whole competition. Conservatively, the club can expect to bank more than £75m just by making it through to the knockout stages, which they are backed to do.

But for Spurs to be investing sustainably in the first team, they need to marry the competitive success with the commercial and matchday success, something that hasn’t been forthcoming at the level fans or ownership would have wanted to see. Regular qualification for the Champions League year in, year out, just as has been achieved at Arsenal in more recent years after a period out in the cold, is transformative for finances, allowing clubs to absorb bigger wages and transfer fees, placing less emphasis on boom or bust seasons.

Would the £100m have arrived if Spurs hadn’t made the Champions League this season by virtue of winning the Europa League last season? Potentially, but the reality is that the additional funds, the change of mood and leadership points to them believing that this season will be far better than the last, and that obtaining a spot in the top four of the Premier League, potentially the top five if European performance warrants it, come the end of 2025/26 is attainable.

£100m ENIC Injection Not a Transfer Kitty

It can be very easy to look at that £100m in isolation, treating it as the amount of money that is at hand in 2025/26 to strengthen the team. Not a bad sum, of course, but in a landscape where some of Spurs’ rivals broke the British transfer record twice in a matter of weeks at £116.5m and then £125m, it maybe doesn’t go as far as it once did.

But the £100m doesn’t reflect a £100m transfer kitty. What it will allow for is the club to cashflow these deals far more easily, meaning that they will have readily available, tangible cash to meet initial payments or some pre-existing transfer debt. In many cases, clubs that have access to cash and can pay more upfront have better leverage.

It’s important to take into account that club owners inject cash into their teams not just to fund big signings but to strategically position their teams in the transfer market. While some of that money may go toward settling existing transfer debt—often structured as staggered payments over several years—the primary aim is to create liquidity. This liquidity allows clubs to act decisively when opportunities arise, whether that’s securing a priority target or outmanoeuvring rivals in a competitive bidding scenario. It is often a game of chess in the transfer market.

Transfer debt itself is a common feature of modern football finance. Clubs routinely agree to pay fees in instalments, which helps manage cash flow but also creates future obligations. While transfers are accounted for on the balance sheet through the process of amortisation, where the guaranteed sum of a deal is divided by the years of the player’s contract, decreasing by a year’s cost with every passing season, real money is required to pay these deals down over time. When owners inject fresh capital, it can be used to meet these obligations without compromising short-term competitiveness. More importantly, it allows clubs to offer upfront payments for new deals, which are often preferred by selling clubs. This reduces reliance on credit facilities or third-party financing, which can be costly or restrictive.

Having tangible cash on hand significantly improves a club’s negotiating power. Sellers favour buyers who can pay quickly and in full, as it reduces risk and administrative burden. Clubs with cash can also leverage discounts, secure better payment terms, or jump queues for in-demand players. In a market where speed and certainty matter, liquidity isn’t just a financial advantage—it’s a strategic one. That’s why injections like ENIC’s £100m into Spurs are framed as tools for “long-term sporting success” rather than just balance sheet patchwork.

But it likely won’t all be accounted for to be put to work for new additions. Spurs have a pretty weighty £337m or so transfer debt issue that has to be addressed.

Tottenham Second Only to Manchester United

Spurs’ reputation for financial caution in the Levy era doesn’t quite match the numbers. Since taking charge, Levy oversaw the generation of a staggering £1.6bn in operating cash flow, second only to Manchester United in English football. That’s not the mark of a club scraping by—it’s the sign of a well-oiled commercial machine. Yet Spurs have consistently spent less on transfers than their rivals, choosing instead to funnel cash into long-term infrastructure like the £1.2bn Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the club’s training ground.

This strategy has created a funding gap that wasn’t filled by owner equity, but by debt. Spurs now carry £851m in financial debt and £337m in transfer debt, the highest combined figure in the Premier League. That transfer debt reflects deferred payments on past signings—not reckless overspending, but structured deals designed to preserve short-term liquidity. It’s a model that prioritises sustainability, but it’s also built on leverage.

The irony? Levy was often criticised for being risk-averse, yet Spurs have embraced debt more aggressively than most. Their cash flow statement tells the story: strong operating performance, modest squad investment, and heavy borrowing to support growth. Even ENIC’s £100m cash injection wasn’t about splashing out—it was a tactical move to ease liquidity pressure and maintain flexibility in the market.

In today’s transfer landscape, tangible cash is king. Clubs that can offer upfront payments get better deals, faster negotiations, and more leverage. Spurs’ ability to generate cash gives them that edge—but their choice to use it for infrastructure rather than squad inflation has defined the Levy era. Now that era is over, perhaps an early play to quell any unrest around the owners, who remain adamant that they do not want to sell the football club, is to make moves that suggest some more focus will be placed on aiding Frank’s bid to bring silverware to the club and to solidify its position in the Champions League on a regular basis.

Venkatesham and Paratici Have Big Behind-Scenes Priority at Tottenham

Description

Vinai Venkatesham has made Micky van de Ven’s new contract one of his main priorities at Tottenham Hotspur amid Fabio Paratici's arrival as the new joint sporting director, journalist Graeme Bailey has revealed.

The Spurs CEO is reportedly very keen to tie the Dutch international to a new deal, with the club aiming to reflect Van de Ven’s status as one of the best defenders in Europe with an improved contract.

Van de Ven’s current terms run until June 2028, with the 24-year-old earning around £50,000 a week. Spurs are believed to be prepared to more than double that figure to keep the central defender happy.

Tottenham want Van de Ven’s extension to be finalised before the New Year to avoid any potential interest emerging from other clubs in the January market.

Some of the biggest European clubs are believed to be eyeing a centre-back signing in the next two transfer windows, with the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and Bayern Munich reportedly looking at Van de Ven as one of the options.

Tottenham Aiming to Extend Van de Ven’s Deal

According to Bailey, Tottenham aim to extend Van de Ven's contract before the New Year, despite his current deal running until 2028:

“I am told it is very much one of Vinai Venkatesham’s priorities to get him tied down before the New Year; they don’t want Van de Ven’s name to become part of the centre back talk that is already happening. Spurs know he is under contract until 2028, so in theory he can’t move, but they want to keep him happy, and Spurs know he is as good as anything in England or indeed Europe at the moment.”

Tottenham announced Rodrigo Bentancur’s contract extension earlier this month, with the Argentina international penning a new long-term deal in North London.

The deal followed extensions for both captain Cristian Romero and Djed Spence this summer, with Spurs securing the futures of several first-team stars recently.

Van de Ven, who joined Tottenham from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2023, has been an important part of the first-team squad since, despite enduring two injury-hit seasons.

The 24-year-old made just 40 league appearances across his first two years in North London, but has been ever-present for Thomas Frank this season, featuring in all seven of Spurs’ Premier League encounters so far.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Van de Ven has scored six goals in 61 appearances for Tottenham.

Tottenham have made a positive start to the season under Frank, losing just twice in their first 11 games across all competitions.

The Lilywhites are unbeaten on their return to the Champions League so far, collecting four points from their opening two games, following a win over Villarreal and a draw at Bodo/Glimt.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Fabio Paratici and Johan Lange have been appointed as the club's new sporting directors.

The north London club are looking to restructure their club hierarchy following the departure of Daniel Levy last month, with the Lewis family injecting £100m into the club and deeming it not for sale, despite big interest from several suitors about a takeover.

Now the club have taken the first step to do that by bringing Paratici back to the club, while also promoting Lange to share the duties of the sporting director role.

Paratici and Lange New Tottenham Sporting Directors

In a statement released on the club website, Spurs said they were 'delighted' with the appointments that had been made as "part of a new structure for our men’s football operation, designed to strengthen leadership, collaboration and long-term decision-making across all areas of the men’s and boys’ game."

Paratici, who recently served a ban from football for financial mismanagement during his time at Juventus, previously had a spell in north London with the club before the ban came into effect. He has now returned, and revealed he is delighted to be back at a club he loves.

“I’m delighted to be returning to a Club that I love.

“I have been working with Johan, Vinai and Thomas as a consultant for a number of months and I now look forward to returning to London and joining the team full-time. I’m convinced that working in partnership with Johan we can build a special future for the Club and our supporters."

Lange is also in a new role, having previously been the technical director at hte club, and he believes the club can build something special now.

“I firmly believe we are building something special here at Tottenham Hotspur, and I am looking forward to working with Fabio as part of our new men’s football structure.

“We have a talented group of staff and players here at the Club and we can look forward with confidence and positivity.”

The club have also announced that they will also now be on the hunt to appoint a new director of football operations, who will work under Paratici and Lange, as part of the ongoing restructure.

Tottenham Want to Sign ‘World-Class’ Star as Secret Release Clause Emerges - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham have been handed fresh hope in their pursuit of Antoine Semenyo with news that his contract contains a release clause.

According to talkSPORT, the Bournemouth star has a fixed fee in place with the Cherries braced for significant interest from the Premier League's biggest clubs.

While the south coast side are keen to keep this figure under wraps, it's good news for Spurs who will be desperate to snap up one of the top flight's most in-form stars.

Bournemouth Resigned to Losing Antoine Semenyo

The Cherries appear to be realistic about their prospects of keeping Semenyo given his electric form of late.

Last season, the forward racked up 13 goals and seven assists in 42 appearances for Bournemouth, leading to significant summer interest in the star.

Both Tottenham and Manchester United held talks with Semenyo over a move. However, Semenyo opted instead to sign a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium to commit his future to his current employers.

The latest report has detailed that this deal includes a release clause, suggesting that Bournemouth knew that it was almost inevitable that the Ghanaian would eventually move on to bigger and better things.

Semenyo, who was hailed as 'world-class' by teammate Justin Kluivert, has done little to deter admiring glances this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in nine games this term. That tally of nine goal contributions has only being bettered by Erling Haaland in the Premier League with the Manchester City star scoring nine goals and offering one assist. For Tottenham, the need for quality attacking reinforcements is clear.

Spurs are sitting third in the table with 13 goals scored in seven Premier League matches so far. However, attacking options are few and far between with Dominic Solanke struggling with injury and James Maddison a long-term absentee.

Richarlison has scored three times this term, Brennan Johnson has netted twice while Mohammed Kudus leads the assist charts with four to his name since arriving from West Ham.

With Tottenham hoping to compete for a top-four place in the Premier League while being competitive in the Champions League, Thomas Frank will be aware of the need for additional firepower given his current stars' inability to provide quality, consistent output during recent seasons.

If Spurs can beat Man United and their other Premier League rivals to Semenyo's signature, it may well prove to be a game-changer for the north Londoners.

Tottenham Hotspur could target a move for promising Lyon winger Malick Fofana next year, journalist Mark Brus has revealed.

The North London side are said to be among a host of Premier League and European clubs eyeing the 20-year-old Belgium international, who is expected to be on the move next summer.

Brus claims Fofana is ‘hugely ambitious’ and Lyon have been made aware of his desire to secure a move away from the club in 2026, with initial talks already taking place to sound out potential suitors for the winger.

Fofana is not necessarily a primary target for any club at the moment but is highly regarded by multiple sides across the continent, with Tottenham among the clubs to watch in a potential chase for the £52m-rated forward.

Tottenham Eyeing Lyon Star Malick Fofana

According to Brus, the list of Fofana’s suitors is expected to grow in the coming months, with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City potentially rivalling Tottenham in the race:

“I can reveal, having checked this with other people with ties to the agents industry, that initial talks have already taken place to sound out potential suitors for Fofana.

“The 20-year-old is hugely ambitious and Lyon have been made aware of his ambitions, with multiple sources confirming that next summer is likely to be the one in which he and his representatives try to get a big move.

“Chelsea have been contacted, as have the teams Pena mentioned, Liverpool, Man City and Bayern, and I’ve also been told to look out for Manchester United, Tottenham, and Newcastle United. Expect that list to grow in the months ahead.”

Fofana, who joined Lyon from Belgian side Gent in January 2024, impressed in his debut season in France, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

The ‘explosive’ 20-year-old also enjoyed a prolific debut Europa League campaign, registering eight goal involvements in 10 games, including an assist in the quarter-final against Manchester United.

Fofana, who was once tipped to be the next Lamine Yamal, has been productive in 2025/26 as well, with two goals and an assist in his seven Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon, who are currently fourth in the table.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham’s rumoured interest in Fofana will materialise next year, considering how heavily the North London side has spent on new forwards in recent months.

The Lilywhites have welcomed the likes of Xavi Simons, Mohamed Kudus, and Mathys Tel on permanent deals this summer, as well as Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani on loan.

Dream Frank Signing: Tottenham Must Use £100m ENIC Investment to Land 'Superstar' - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur should use their recent cash injection to bring club legend Harry Kane back to North London.

When Tottenham finally ended their trophy drought by winning the 2024/25 Europa League, few would have expected Ange Postecoglou to lose his position as manager, having succeeded where so many others failed in trying to win silverware for the Lilywhites.

Even fewer, however, would have predicted that chairman Daniel Levy would depart the club after a quarter-century of service. The news broke after the summer transfer window, in which Spurs spent big on Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus, whilst acquiring Joao Palhinha on loan from Bayern Munich for manager Thomas Frank, who was hired as Postecoglou's replacement.

Frank established himself as a brilliant tactician in seven years as Brentford manager and has enjoyed a strong start to life in North London. The club have lost just two games under Frank's guidance, including the Super Cup against Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.

Tottenham recently announced that majority owners ENIC had given them an injection of £100 million and with such money available to them, there is only one player that they should try and sign.

Spurs Should Bring Kane Back to London

For all his brilliance across a 10-year-plus stint with Tottenham Hotspur, it always felt as though a lack of silverware diminished Harry Kane's general reputation. The England international moved to Bayern Munich in 2023, with whom he has since finally ended his trophy drought.

Not only has Kane, called a "superstar" by Phil McNulty, continued his form in Germany, but if anything, he has improved. The 32-year-old, who is England's record goalscorer, has been lethal in Germany and in the 2025/26 season, has notched 21 goal contributions in just 10 games across all competitions.

Kane's form is enticement enough for any team to want to sign him, but a return to Tottenham would be a fairytale, something that the fans would love to happen. Not only that, but Kane could still feasibly break Alan Shearer's Premier League goal record. Becoming the all-time top scorer of the English top flight may prove too much for Kane to ignore.
