Description

Tottenham supporters have been quick to voice their opinions after fresh reports suggest a significant first-team player could be edging closer to a move away from north London.

Tottenham Hotspur could be busy in the winter window, which is only a couple of days from opening, as incomings and outgoings could be making their way in and out of north London.

Brennan Johnson is one player who has attracted interest in the weeks leading up to the winter window, with several Premier League clubs reported to have shown interest in signing the Welshman permanently.

Fresh reports now claim that Johnson is edging closer to a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with David Ornstein stating that Crystal Palace have reached an agreement with Tottenham over a deal to sign Brennan Johnson.

It is also claimed that a move will be subject to the 24-year-old agreeing to it, while the fee is said to be approaching £35m.

Tottenham fans react to Brennan Johnson exit reports

Spurs fans have now caught wind of the latest update, and many are not too satisfied with the piece of business being discussed between the two London clubs.

Reacting to the reported fee, one Tottenham supporter said: “Horrendous business. Should be £45m minimum. 20 G/A plus Europa League winner.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Another added: “No, diabolical business, a c. 25 per cent loss on last season’s top scorer and scorer of the winner in a Euro final. Other clubs would sell him for a £10m profit.”

Meanwhile, others believe it is the right sort of business. One Tottenham fan commented: “Yes, actually our best sale in a long time tbh,”

Another added: “Incredible, he is way off the standard required.” A further reaction read: “Yes 100 per cent, need to move players on, he is not good enough,” with one more stating: “Yes. Was never worth £50m.”

Other Tottenham supporters were not best pleased with the reported price, with one fan stating: “We are so bad at selling. How does he get 20+ G/A in a season and get sold for 30 per cent less than we bought him for.”

What a Brennan Johnson sale could mean for Spurs

Brennan Johnson remains something of a cult hero at Tottenham after his goal back in May in Bilbao, Spain, which gave Spurs their first piece of silverware in 17 years.

However, it is clear that under Thomas Frank, he is far down the pecking order, even after his flurry of goals last season.

Spurs were once in the race for Semenyo, showing their intent to strengthen their wide areas, and now, with a £100m cash injection and a possible £30m addition from a potential Johnson sale, the transfer reserve appears to be growing.

Many fans will now hope Tottenham move on to sign a world-class player in that position as the club looks to compete again.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have come to a final decision on whether to sell Brennan Johnson, but there is one factor which could prevent a move from taking place.

Brennan Johnson is yet to start a Premier League match since the 2-2 draw with Newcastle at the beginning of the month.

The winger has only played 47 minutes of football since this point, five of which came in Tottenham Hotspur’s recent 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

Therefore it is no surprise that Johnson has been linked with a move away from Spurs and one report has revealed Crystal Palace want to sign the Wales international in January.

Tottenham have agreed to sell Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace

According to The Athletic, Crystal Palace have now had a bid accepted by Tottenham which is believed to be approaching £35m.

Other clubs remain interested in signing Johnson, but Palace are the first to agree a deal with Tottenham Hotspur.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Johnson still holds the power to decide where his future lies and he has the option to reject a move to the South London based club.

Crystal Palace would be a good destination for Johnson

Although Spurs recently got the better of Palace, they are a team who appear to be heading in the right direction.

The Eagles are the reigning champions of the FA Cup and the Community Shield and despite a dip in form, they still sit in the top half of the Premier League table.

Johnson does not have a long-term future at Tottenham and so he should seriously consider making the switch to Crystal Palace, where he could become a first-team starter again.

Description

Brennan Johnson has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur and one club could be ready to launch a bid when the January transfer window opens.

Brennan Johnson has had to endure a number of setbacks already across the first half of the season. The Wales international saw his usual position claimed by Mohammed Kudus, forcing him to play on the left wing.

Maintaining his place on the left has also proved to be an issue, with Wilson Odobert seemingly preferred. In fact, even Randal Kolo Muani, who is naturally a striker, started over Johnson last Sunday against Crystal Palace.

However, Thomas Frank has claimed Johnson is still an important player to Tottenham Hotspur, despite his lack of starts.

Crystal Palace want to win the race to sign Brennan Johnson from Tottenham

Crystal Palace are one of the teams most heavily linked with Johnson and according to the Daily Mail, the Eagles could swoop early in January to secure the winger.

Johnson himself is in no rush to leave Tottenham, but he has been frustrated by his lack of starts. This will leave Palace feeling like a deal is achievable, as they discuss an offer of around £35m.

Spurs could listen to considerable offers for Johnson in order to allow spending on new signings and Palace are the most likely team to get a deal done next month.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs have received plenty of interest in Johnson

Bournemouth have also explored the possibility of signing Johnson as an Antoine Semenyo replacement, but their attention is divided as Leicester City’s Abdul Fatawu is an option too.

Everton and Aston Villa are said to be fellow admiriers of the man of the goalscorer in Bilbao, but both clubs are unlikely to make a move to sign him before the summer. This means the race for Johnson is Crystal Palace’s to lose.

Kevin Danso reveals two signs that Tottenham can grow into 'a real force' under Thomas Frank - Spurs Web
Description

Kevin Danso has now highlighted two key qualities he believes Tottenham Hotspur need if they are to build on their latest victory over Crystal Palace.

Thomas Frank had to ring the changes in Tottenham Hotspur’s last Premier League game against London rivals Crystal Palace.

Kevin Danso and Lucas Bergvall came into the starting XI in place of suspended Cristian Romero and Xavi Simons following their sending off against Liverpool in gameweek 17.

However, it was Danso who impressed by standing his ground against Jean-Philippe Mateta and helping Tottenham keep a clean sheet as they secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Oliver Glasner’s side.

Kevin Danso on Tottenham character after Palace win

Reflecting on the physical challenge posed by Palace and his individual duel with Mateta, Danso spoke about the demands of the contest and the satisfaction of coming out on top.

Speaking after the match, he told the official Tottenham channel: “Games like this are always tough. I relish games like that, opponents like that – it has proved over the last few years how much of a good striker he is.

“I am just happy it went our way today, we kept the clean sheet and managed to stop him from scoring.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“It is always the goal for us defenders to keep the ball as far away as possible from our goal and try and keep the clean sheet, and we did that today.

“I think it has given us a lot of confidence, the way we have performed in some of the games over the past few weeks.

“The results are not always going our way, but I think we showed the character and the togetherness we have. Sometimes we have to grind out results like we did today and I feel once we hit that step and we learn to do that consistently, we will be a real tough force.”

What Spurs must build on next

Indeed, being able to grind out results is vital in the Premier League, where every side is capable of beating the other.

However, Spurs need to ensure that grinding out results does not become a regular theme, as it has been for much of the season, where they are often forced into playing on the back foot by their opponent.

Undoubtedly, the result remains important, and the focus now will be on building on this performance and bringing more consistency to their play.

Description

Daniel Levy has spoken publicly for the first time since leaving Tottenham Hotspur, reflecting on his time at the club and the wider impact of his work following recent recognition in the United Kingdom’s New Year Honours list.

Tottenham Hotspur have since moved on from former chairman Daniel Levy, who was at the helm in north London for 24 years.

The former chairman’s on-pitch decisions were not always met with praise by Tottenham supporters, but it is his off-the-field work that continues to earn him recognition.

During his time in north London, Levy carried out significant work within the local community, setting up the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation – the club’s official charitable body – in 2006.

He also opened the state-of-the-art Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April 2019, a ground that has now been the club’s home for almost seven years, bringing jobs and economic activity to the area.

Daniel Levy awarded CBE after Tottenham exit

In recognition of that work, The Athletic have reported that Daniel Levy has now been awarded a CBE in the United Kingdom’s New Year Honours list.

The CBE, which stands for Commander of the Order of the British Empire, is awarded to individuals in recognition of their contribution to public life in the United Kingdom and ranks above both an OBE and an MBE.

Speaking after receiving the honour, Levy reflected on the collective effort behind the work carried out during his time at the club, while acknowledging the role of those around him.

He said: “The positive change we were able to achieve would not have been possible without the passion, dedication and hard work of so many people at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, together with our community partners, who shared a belief in the power of sport to transform lives.”

Levy reflects on Tottenham Hotspur legacy

Levy also used the opportunity to speak more broadly about what Tottenham Hotspur has meant to him personally, and the importance he placed on the club’s role within the local community during his tenure.

Expanding on his legacy and the impact he hoped the club would leave behind, Levy said: “Tottenham Hotspur has always been more than a football club to me.

“It is part of the fabric of the local community, and I am immensely proud of the role we have played in helping to regenerate the area through our initiatives in education, employment, health and social inclusion.

“While our stadium development and on-pitch results often took the headlines, I hope that my legacy will be the positive and lasting impact we have made on the lives of people in Tottenham and beyond.

“Football clubs have a unique role to play in their local community and at Tottenham Hotspur we always took this responsibility very seriously.”

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are set to reach out to a Premier League winger to find out whether he is keen on joining them in January.

It has been widely reported that signing a top-class winger is Spurs’ top priority during the January window.

However, with Tottenham expected to miss out on Antoine Semenyo, the club are thought to be eyeing other wide players.

Over recent days, it has been reported that Spurs could reignite their interest in the £70m-rated Savinho after missing out on the Brazilian in the summer, and it has now emerged that the Lilywhites have begun doing the groundwork.

Tottenham making fresh explorations for Savinho

According to TEAMtalk, the Lilywhites are now making a fresh approach to find out whether Savinho is genuinely interested in leaving Man City in January.

The North Londoners have been keeping an eye on how the winger has fitted in at City since their approach last summer, and they believe that a door could open during the upcoming transfer window.

Before Tottenham Hotspur attempt to formally test the waters with an offer for Savinho, they first want to find out if the 21-year-old is keen on a switch to N17.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The wide-man gave clear indications that he fancied a switch to Spurs in the summer, and Thomas Frank’s men will now find out through intermediaries whether he has changed his mind or not.

If Savinho tells Tottenham that he is willing to fight for a place at the Etihad Stadium, the Lilywhites will not bother making a renewed offer for the player.

Spurs are also eyeing another Man City attacker

Some outlets have suggested that Tottenham are plotting an ambitious move for Omar Marmoush, who, like Savinho, has found game time hard to come by at City this term.

It was reported last week that Man City could let one of Savinho or Marmoush leave if they land Semenyo from Bournemouth.

Tottenham Hotspur have just received some encouraging news in their pursuit of a winger who is thought to be at the top of their wishlist.

The big question for Tottenham is which winger they will focus their attention on, as it now appears that the Lilywhites are expected to fall short in their pursuit of Antoine Semenyo.

According to sources, one of the names at the top of the North London club’s wishlist is a 20-year-old who is viewed as one of the best young attackers in Serie A.

It emerged a couple of weeks ago that Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz would be a dream signing for Tottenham, who have keenly scouted the Turkish international.

Juventus struggling to tie down Tottenham target Kenan Yildiz

A new report in TuttoJuve has now claimed that a tug-of-war is currently ongoing between Yildiz and Bianconeri over a contract renewal.

The youngster is thought to be demanding a salary of £5m per year to sign on the dotted line as he wants his wages to reflect his importance in the squad.

However, Juve are facing serious financial pressures and his demands are proving too much for the Serie A giants.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The report adds that Yildiz is not short of admirers, with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur willing to offer the Turk the salary he is demanding.

Spurs face competition from two London rivals for Yildiz

TuttoJuve say that the Lilywhites are not the only Premier League club chasing the winger, with Arsenal and Chelsea also willing to meet his salary demands.

The Gunners allegedly see Yildiz as a partner to Martin Odegaard to help build attacks, while the Blues have also been tracking the youngster closely.

The publication adds that Juve are still fighting to hang onto the versatile attacker, but they could be resigned to losing him in January if the contract talks do not reach the desired conclusion.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have now finalised a decision on Luka Vuskovic amidst transfer interest from around Europe.

While things have not been looking rosy for the Spurs this season, the one thing that the supporters will undoubtedly be excited about is the quality of young talent at the club.

Mikey Moore is now impressing at Rangers, while academy starlet Luca Williams-Barnett is doing special things at the youth level.

However, the player Spurs fans will be most excited about is Luka Vuskovic, who has seen his market value double this season in light of his brilliant displays on loan for Hamburg.

Luka Vuskovic will not be returning to Tottenham in January

Vuskovic has been described as ‘an exceptional talent’ by Bundesliga experts, and the youngster is being backed to evolve into one of the best centre-backs in the game.

Given Tottenham’s struggles this season, some may wonder if it would make sense for Thomas Frank’s men to recall the Croat in January.

Journalist Seb Stafford-Bloor has now revealed on The Athletic that Spurs do have the option to cut short the 18-year-old’s loan spell at HSV next month.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, he states that Tottenham have no plans to do that, with the teenager expected to remain at the Volksparkstadion until next summer.

Vuskovic is generating plenty of transfer interest

It has been revealed that the Spurs centre-back is attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

That includes Bayern Munich, whose advances for Vuskovic have been knocked back by Tottenham.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are now at risk of falling behind their Premier League rivals in the race for a six-time title winner.

As the January transfer window draws closer, one Tottenham Hotspur star’s long-term future at the club appears to be up in the air.

Reports indicate that Spurs have started looking for potential replacements for Guglielmo Vicario, and a Barcelona star is thought to be one of the names on the Lilywhites’ wishlist.

Tottenham are reportedly eyeing a move for Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who has now fallen behind Joan Garcia in Hansi Flick’s pecking order at Camp Nou.

Last week, a report in Sport suggested that even though Besiktas, Bologna, and Ajax have expressed an interest in the Barca star, Ter Stegen is waiting for an approach from Spurs.

This was because the 33-year-old prefers moving to the Premier League, but Tottenham’s pursuit of the goalkeeper may have just got a lot harder.

A new report in Radio Marca claims that Aston Villa have now initiated contact with Ter Stegen ahead of the January window.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The report suggests that Unai Emery values the German goalkeeper’s experience and sees him as an option to replace Emiliano Martinez, who has been linked with a move away from Villa Park.

Chances of January Ter Stegen transfer played down

While Radio Marca seem to suggest that the Barca star is on his way out, one journalist disagrees.

Just a few days ago, Dean Jones suggested that Tottenham target Ter Stegen is not in a hurry to leave Camp Nou in January.

Jones also pointed out that covering the former Borussia Monchengladbach man’s high salary may be an issue for the North London club.

Injury expert casts doubt over Tottenham returns for Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke

Injury expert casts doubt over Tottenham returns for Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been without both Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski for the entire 2025/26 season so far, and a return doesn’t appear to be close.

Tottenham Hotspur continue to manage the absences of a few of their key stars this season under Thomas Frank.

Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison remain out as they continue to nurse long-term injuries and work on their rehabilitation.

Frank has not been entirely open about the progress of these players, often giving blunt, short updates, but now a Premier League injury expert has shared what he knows about the fitness of the three injured stars.

Premier League injury expert Ben Dinnery has explained that Tottenham supporters should not expect quick returns for Solanke or Kulusevski, while also casting doubt over whether Maddison will feature again this season.

Speaking to Casino Beats, Dinnery outlined the current situation surrounding Solanke’s ongoing ankle issue.

Detailing the complications of the striker’s recovery, Dinnery said: “Dominic Solanke’s ankle issue has proven to be problematic for some time. The initial concern was that if he treaded conservatively, he would get through the injury.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“That proved not to be the case, and he ended up having a small procedure to remedy the niggle. He is responding well, but we will have a better understanding around the extent of his injury and when he can be expected to return once he is back on the training pitch.

“Initial signs suggested Dejan Kulusevski would have been back playing for Spurs around August or September, which I always thought was a bit optimistic, but there have been multiple setbacks in his recovery.

“As with all long-term injuries, it is the final phase of rehabilitation when players are increasing intensities and they are working more towards gameplay situations and movement patterns.

“Any return to play this season for James Maddison would be a huge bonus, but whether that is a realistic expectation is up for debate.

“I think the view of Spurs’ backroom staff will be to get Maddison through this season and have full focus on a strong pre-season on his road to full recovery.

“ACL injuries were once career-ending or, at the very least, career-threatening. While it is not to the same extent anymore, it still is very serious and there are very limited opportunities to accelerate the recovery process.”

Spurs handed minor boost despite ongoing injury concerns

While Maddison, Kulusevski and Solanke continue to work their way back to full fitness, Spurs received a welcome boost in their last league encounter with Crystal Palace.

Long-term absentees Kota Takai and Radu Dragusin finally made an appearance in a matchday squad in the Premier League, although the latter had featured a week earlier.

Takai did not make it onto the pitch and was an unused substitute, but Dragusin finally returned to competitive action, featuring for five minutes.
