Tottenham Hotspur have been impressed by the development of a 22-year-old left-winger this season, but there may be one roadblock in completing a January deal.

The 22-year-old has been one of the best players on show in the Jupiler Pro League this season, and has four goals and eight assists to his name across all competitions.

This has attracted the attention of several big clubs, with Spurs being one of the clubs to have sent scouts to Brussels multiple times to run the rule over Angulo.

However, TEAMtalk say that signing the Andrelect man in the mid-season transfer window may be hard for Tottenham and his other Premier League suitors.

“By the time they get him in, there’s a fair chance that [James] Maddison will be back, and I think when they’ve played for England together over the years, they’ve always done well.

Thomas Frank has come out in support of Vicario, insisting that his number one spot is not under any threat.

O’Rourke believes that despite all the criticism the Italian is getting, he has proven himself to be a solid performer for the Lilywhites.

He added: “Look, right now obviously he got a bit of flak from the fans after that mistake against Fulham. He held his hands up; he knew it was a mistake.

“But for me, I think he’s been a solid enough goalkeeper for Tottenham Hotspur. He’s a very good shot stopper. There are probably a few question marks over him from crosses and set-pieces, corners, long throws, etc.

“I don’t think Tottenham want to be chopping and changing their goalkeeper mid-way through the season. So, I would expect him to remain at the club until the summer.”

“The ability also to think and nail the message, nail the team and all that bit, how you create a team that should be more and more in sync when maybe it’s not that easy because you need to rotate a bit and do those things. That’s the challenge. That’s the biggest difference.”

Frank wants to build a legacy at Spurs

Frank lost eight of his first 10 matches in charge of Brentford, but managed to turn that around and leave a rich legacy at the club.

He admitted that he wants to do the same at Tottenham, insisting that all of his decisions are being taken with the long-term in mind.

When asked if he could see himself spending nine years in North London, Frank responded: “Everything is possible. Ask me now and nine years is a long time. I’ve said it from the beginning, every action, everything I do is with two pathways. One, we need to win tomorrow and the day after and day after but everything is with a long-term vision.

“If you don’t build anything with a long-term vision, then I don’t believe you are a top club. It shouldn’t be ‘oh we survived one more game’, then there are pragmatic choices along the way, injuries, form. Bit by bit, we will try to get closer to being a well-oiled engine that’s impossible to stop.”
