Description

Fabio Paratici is now spearheading Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of a prolific Serie A star as the Italian looks to wrap up a deal before Monday’s transfer deadline.

Tottenham’s loss against Bournemouth on Saturday showed that this squad still has some holes to fill, and if reports are to be believed, Spurs may have a very busy transfer deadline day.

It first emerged last week that Tottenham are exploring a move for Atalanta star Ademola Lookman, who is expected to leave Atalanta before the window slams shut.

Subsequently, TEAMtalk claimed that Lookman had become a ‘prime target’ for Spurs and that the North London club are stepping up their pursuit of the forward.

Fabio Paratici is working on bringing Ademola Lookman to Spurs

A report from talkSPORT has now said that the Lilywhites are keen on bringing the Nigerian international to N17 before the window slams shut.

The same update claimed that Paratici, who is expected to return to Tottenham in an official role when the window closes, is the one who is driving the Premier League side’s move for the Atalanta star.

According to the update, the 27-year-old is now pushing to leave the Bergamo club and has accused them of blocking his exit.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The publication adds that Inter Milan previously had a £38m offer rejected for Lookman, and the Nerazzurri are not expected to return with an improved offer at this stage.

Tottenham not expected to try again for Savinho

The report in talkSPORT also says that while Tottenham would have ideally liked to sign Savinho, they have been told very clearly that the player will not be allowed to leave the Etihad Stadium.

The feeling at Spurs is that Man City will not sell the 22-year-old at any price at this stage of the transfer window.

As a result, Tottenham are not expected to improve on their €70m (£60.7m) offer for Savinho, which was sent back by Pep Guardiola’s side.

Description

Transfer deadline day has just heated up for Tottenham Hotspur fans, with Fabrizio Romano revealing that Spurs have taken a big step towards landing Randal Kolo Muani.

It seemed like Spurs fans were in for a quiet deadline day, but things are now heating up, with the Lilywhites making efforts to pull off a surprise signing.

Earlier today, it emerged that Tottenham had launched an enquiry for Randal Kolo Muani, a player they also chased back in the winter.

However, that particular update suggested that the Frenchman was still in talks with Juventus, but now, it seems that Spurs are making efforts to beat the Serie A side to the Paris Saint-Germain star.

Tottenham are close to agreeing personal terms with Randal Kolo Muani

This update comes from Fabrizio Romano, who has taken to social media to reveal that Tottenham are taking big steps towards landing the 26-year-old this summer.

The journalist says that the North London club are now on the verge of agreeing personal terms with Kolo Muani.

He also adds that Spurs are speaking to PSG regarding an initial loan deal with the obligation to buy the forward.

Has Tottenham’s injury blow triggered the news?

It was initially reported that Tottenham were keen on adding a winger to their squad, and Spurs head coach Thomas Frank even said that he is happy with the two strikers at his disposal.

While Kolo Muani can play across the front three, he is more of a centre-forward than a winger.

Description

Tottenham are pushing to make late moves in the transfer window and have now turned their attention to Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, with negotiations understood to be underway.

With time ticking in the final hours of the British summer transfer window, every Tottenham Hotspur fan will be hoping that the club can still manage to get a few deals over the line.

For those who have spent the day refreshing their feeds, one name in particular has been strongly linked with Tottenham, and that is Randal Kolo Muani.

Earlier today, we reported that Tottenham had made an enquiry about Muani as they looked to join the race alongside Juventus, with the clock running down on deadline day.

Spurs missed out on a January move for Kolo Muani in the winter window, as the striker preferred a transfer to Juventus instead.

Tottenham negotiating with PSG for Randal Kolo Muani

The French forward has been linked with Tottenham in the past, most notably during the winter window, and it appears that Spurs remain firmly interested in him.

Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has now provided more detail on the club’s pursuit, revealing that Spurs are in active talks with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a deal for Randal Kolo Muani, with all indications suggesting it could begin as an initial loan deal.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Taking to X, O’Keef posted: “Tottenham negotiating with PSG for Randal Kolo Muani – indications it could be an initial loan.”

Why Tottenham want Randal Kolo Muani

Tottenham’s interest in another forward is understandable, especially with Dominic Solanke’s injury likely to keep him out for longer than originally expected.

It has since been confirmed that Solanke could miss more than two weeks of action, with ankle surgery now appearing increasingly likely.

That leaves Tottenham light in attack, as Richarlison, who has had his fair share of injury issues, is the only recognised number nine available.

Randal Kolo Muani, who scored eight goals in 16 appearances during his loan spell with Juventus, offers a proven option at this level and could help ease the burden on the frontline.

Description

Tottenham have been dealt a cruel setback just hours before the summer transfer window closes, with Dominic Solanke facing the prospect of a long spell on the sidelines.

Tottenham Hotspur are no stranger to injuries, as the club has endured a relentless crisis in recent months that has stretched the squad to its limits. Yet, they still managed to lift the Europa League trophy in May.

This season, however, the Europa League winners are still waiting to see a fully fit group available to new boss Thomas Frank, with Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Radu Dragusin and Kota Takai also among those who have missed spells of action.

Adding to the concerns, Dominic Solanke became the latest player to join the treatment table, having missed Tottenham’s clash with Bournemouth.

What was initially feared to be a minor setback, with a possible return pencilled in for just after the international break, has now developed into something far more worrying.

Jake Sanders of The Sun has now provided an update on Solanke’s situation, and the news is far from encouraging for Tottenham.

According to the report, Solanke’s ankle injury is more severe than first believed, with the forward expected to be out for a significant spell rather than a short absence.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is even thought that ankle surgery could be required for the striker, which would be a crushing blow for Spurs, who currently rely heavily on Richarlison as their only fully fit recognised centre-forward.

Thomas Frank downplays striker transfer chances

When asked about the possibility of Tottenham dipping into the transfer market for attacking cover, Thomas Frank was quick to play down such a scenario.

Speaking to the media, he explained that he does not see the need to bring in another striker at this stage: “No. I would say not particularly. To have the three strikers in the squad can also cause a problem as you can only play one at a time.

“It is a fine balance. I am not saying we will never go for another striker at another time, but I am happy with Dom and Richarlison.”

Description

Tottenham have reignited their interest in Randal Kolo Muani on transfer deadline day, as the club have made an enquiry for the striker who turned them down only six months ago.

It is the British transfer deadline day and it is the point where teams across the league begin to wrap up their dealings, dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s with little time to spare.

For Tottenham Hotspur, however, it feels like more than just fine-tuning, as there is a glaring need for fresh reinforcements in key positions.

It has long been reported that Spurs are targeting at least one wide forward and a left-sided centre-back, and with only hours remaining, the final stretch of the window could prove to be a tense and intriguing watch.

Tottenham make enquiry for Randal Kolo Muani

Fabrizio Romano is now reporting on X that in a bid to strengthen their attack, Tottenham have turned their attention back to a player they chased during the winter transfer window.

According to the journalist, it is understood that within the last 24 hours, Spurs have made an enquiry for Randal Kolo Muani.

The Frenchman is currently in discussions with Juventus, although it is claimed that negotiations with the Italian club remain off at this point, and should that situation persist, Tottenham could look to move in for the striker.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Romano posted: “If talks with Juventus remain off as they are right now, Randal Kolo Muani can emerge as option for several top clubs on #DeadlineDay. Can exclusively reveal that Tottenham made an enquiry for Kolo in last 24h… could be one to watch ⚪️👀 #THFC.”

The links between Tottenham and Kolo Muani are not fresh, as the French forward was aggressively pursued by the club back in the January window.

At the time, he chose not to make the switch to N17, which forced Tottenham to turn their attention elsewhere, eventually securing the signing of Mathys Tel.

Following a solid spell at Juventus where he registered eight goals in 16 matches, Tottenham appear to be revisiting their interest, yet this potential pursuit may not sit well with some supporters who feel that if the player was unwilling to join six months ago, there is little reason why the club should still be chasing him now.

Description

While settling into life at Tottenham Hotspur will be made easier for Xavi Simons owing to the presence of his international teammate Micky van de Ven, the centre-back is not the only Spurs player that the newcomer knows well.

Simons was presented to the fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ahead of kick-off against Bournemouth, and the new signing got a rousing reception from the supporters.

However, the 22-year-old would not have been too impressed with what he saw from his new teammates on the pitch, with the Cherries dominating proceedings.

In fact, the 1-0 scoreline flattered the home side, with Thomas Frank’s men being brought down to earth after winning their first two league games of the season.

Xavi Simons knows Tottenham winger well

Tottenham lacked creativity against the South Coast side, and that is a problem that Simons will help fix when he links up with the side.

The former RB Leipzig man will have a familiar face in the dressing room, having played with Van de Ven for the Netherlands, but he is not the only Spurs player he has shared a dressing room with.

Wilson Odobert and Simons came through the ranks of the Paris Saint-Germain team together, and according to TBR Football, they played 10 games together for the PSG Under-19 side.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The duo both left the Parisians in the summer of 2022, with Odobert joining Troyes and Simons signing for PSV Eindhoven, and the pair have now been reunited again at Spurs three years on.

Simons will be hoping to carry on Heung-min Son’s legacy

The new Tottenham attacker has been handed Heung-min Son’s iconic squad number, and Simons has admitted that he is keen to live up to the legacy of the number seven shirt.

His arrival is certainly a much-needed creative boost for Spurs, who are without the injured James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.

Description

An interesting update has emerged regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of Ademola Lookman, with Spurs wanting a quick answer regarding a deal for the Atalanta star.

The speculation linking Lookman with a move to Spurs has gone into hyperdrive, with the forward emerging as a target for the North Londoners late in the transfer window.

Spurs Web has relayed several sources over the last few hours claiming that Lookman is keen on completing a move to Tottenham.

The Lilywhites are expected to face competition for the 27-year-old, but a new update has suggested that they are not prepared to wait too long for an answer from the player.

Tottenham want an answer on Ademola Lookman by tonight

Dean Jones has now reported on TEAMtalk that Spurs first explored a move for Lookman last week and have now revisited a deal for the former Everton man in the dying stages of the transfer window.

His availability, combined with the fact that Tottenham’s other targets have become difficult to lure away, has led to the Lilywhites turning their focus towards the Atalanta star.

However, Jones makes it clear that Spurs will not wait around too long and are also simultaneously exploring moves for other attackers.

MORE SPURS STORIES

He asserts that the Premier League side wants an answer from Lookman and Atalanta by midnight, or they will move on to other targets.

Lookman would be another statement signing for Spurs

Lookman’s numbers for Atalanta are nothing short of formidable, with the forward scoring 52 goals and providing 25 assists in 118 matches for the Serie A side.

While he may not be a winger, it has been reported by some sources that Thomas Frank’s men are flexible in the profile of attacker they want, since Xavi Simons is also seen as an option who can play wide.

Tottenham exploring exciting deadline day move for £86m Rafael Leao - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are exploring an extremely ambitious deadline day move for one of the biggest superstars in Italian football, Rafael Leao.

Tottenham’s struggles against Bournemouth on Saturday were proof that this squad is far from the finished article just yet.

According to some sources, Spurs are still exploring two more late signings before Monday’s transfer deadline, but the Lilywhites are running out of time to make those additions.

It was reported earlier this month that Tottenham had enquired about a move to Rafael Leao, and a new update has now claimed that the Premier League side are now exploring the possibility of signing the AC Milan star.

Tottenham eyeing deadline day move for Rafael Leao

This update comes from The Independent’s Miguel Delaney, who reveals that Spurs want to sign another attacker and a centre-back before the transfer window slams shut.

He explains that while Thomas Frank’s men ideally want a winger, they could opt for a different profile, given that Xavi Simons can operate on the left.

Delaney adds that the Lilywhites are looking at the possibility of signing Leoa on deadline day, but admits that a deal for the Portugal international would be difficult to do.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham may have to shatter their transfer record to land Leao

A report in GiveMeSport relays this information from Delaney and adds that the 26-year-old winger is valued by Milan at £86m.

Additionally, Ben Jacobs revealed a couple of weeks ago that Leao is not too keen on leaving the San Siro this summer.

However, Jacobs stated at the time that Milan would be open to cashing in on the player, who has netted 71 goals and provided 62 assists for Milan in 261 appearances, as long as a sufficiently large offer arrives.

Huge Ademola Lookman update as deadline day move to Tottenham is on the cards - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are now trying to complete a late deal for Ademola Lookman, who has greenlit a switch to North London before Monday’s transfer deadline.

It emerged last week Spurs had turned their attention to Ademola Lookman, who is looking for an exit route from Atalanta late in the transfer window.

Subsequently, sources confirmed a few days ago that Tottenham had made contact with Lookman’s camp over a switch to N17.

The same update revealed that the 27-year-old has emerged as a ‘prime target’ for the Lilywhites, with Thomas Frank seeing him as a good fit for his system.

Ademola Lookman is ready to fly to London to complete Tottenham move

TBR Football have now confirmed that Spurs are currently locked in talks over a late deal for the Atalanta winger, who has now allegedly become the North London club’s priority target.

Interestingly, the report says that after seeing his switch to Inter Milan collapse, Lookman is keen on completing a switch to Spurs.

The former Everton man wants to leave Bergamo before the transfer deadline, and a switch to Tottenham appeals to him.

MORE SPURS STORIES

In fact, the publication adds that Lookman is now ready to fly to London ahead of a potential deadline day switch to Thomas Frank’s side.

Things falling into place for Tottenham to complete Lookman deal

TBR Football also back up what we have heard from other sources by stating that Tottenham Hotspur have to pay £43m to prise Lookman away from Bergamo.

The outlet also spoke to transfer market expert Graeme Bailey, who feels that a deadline day deal for Lookman is very much on the cards for Spurs, with all parties willing to complete the transfer.

Thomas Frank implies Tottenham links to Manuel Akanji are completely false

Thomas Frank implies Tottenham links to Manuel Akanji are completely false - Spurs Web
Description

Amidst reports indicating that Tottenham Hotspur are looking to get another centre-back through the door before the window closes, Thomas Frank has made a very interesting admission about the defensive options at his disposal.

It has been claimed by a number of sources that Spurs want to add another centre-back to their squad after allowing Luka Vuskovic to join Hamburg on loan.

Over the last few days, we have heard that Tottenham have made an approach for Manuel Akanji, while some sources also indicate that his Man City teammate, Nathan Ake, is also on Spurs’ radar.

Additionally, it has also been suggested that Thomas Frank could look to bring Brentford captain Nathan Collins to Tottenham.

Thomas Frank sets the record straight on Tottenham’s centre-back pursuit

However, despite these transfer rumours, Frank has now played down the need for Tottenham to sign another centre-back.

The Spurs head coach insisted that he is not short of options at the back right now despite Radu Dragusin’s injury.

When asked if he is confident in the centre-back options available to him, Frank said (via The Standard): “We have right now three centre backs: Micky, Romero, [Kevin] Danso.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“Ben can play there if necessary. We have Kota, the young central defender we bought this summer, who is running now and training with the team next week. Or training with the ball, there aren’t many left behind. And then Dragusin is coming back in a couple of months, so I think that should be enough.”

When asked if that meant Spurs did not need to sign another centre-back in the current window, Frank responded: “Not as it stands, no.”

Is Frank simply playing down expectations?

While Frank comes across as very honest in his press conferences, there is no reason for him to admit that Tottenham want another centre-back, which will only put more pressure on the club and make negotiations harder.

We have heard over the last 24 hours that Spurs have now launched an opening offer for Manuel Akanji, which suggests that the Lilywhites are definitely in the market for reinforcements at the back.

While Tottenham are not short of options at centre-back, the injury record of Cristian Romero, and particularly, Micky van de Ven, will be a concern.

With Frank wanting the option to use three at the back from time to time, he may want to bring another defender through the door as a precaution.
