Description

Opta’s Supercomputer has revised its prediction on how likely Tottenham Hotspur are to be relegated from the Premier League this season following the club’s latest home defeat.

There was a haunting sense of familiarity with how meekly Tottenham Hotspur folded at home to Newcastle.

The away side dominated proceedings for large parts of the game, including the entire first period, with the Lilywhites struggling to progress the ball forward or create chances.

Spurs fell to a 2-1 loss, which meant that they also fell to 16th in the table, and the result has forced Tottenham to part ways with Thomas Frank, eight months following his appointment.

Opta predicts Tottenham’s chances of being relegated from the Premier League

Ahead of Tuesday’s game, Opta predicted that Tottenham had just a 2.29 per cent chance of going down this season.

Opta have now increased those chances to 3.40 per cent after Spurs fell to yet another loss at home, which is a 50 per cent increase in their relegation probability just one game.

However, the supercomputer still considers West Ham overwhelming favourites to join Wolves and Burnley in the Championship next term, with the Hammers given a 70.54 per cent chance of going down.

How does Spurs relegation probability compare with Nottingham Forest’s?

The data analysis platform also suggests that Nottingham Forest are much more likely to be relegated from the Premier League than the Lilywhites are.

Forest have been given a 20.11 per cent chance of finishing in the bottom three, which is over six times as likely as Spurs.

So all in all, the supercomputer still expects Tottenham to get out of trouble, with the North Londoners predicted to accumulate around 44 points and finish 16th.

Tottenham £87m target just ruptured his ACL, putting an end to transfer rumours - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been decimated by injuries once again this season, and that curse is now spreading to their summer transfer targets.

Spurs have had some major issues in front of goal this season, and that is something that the club would be keen to address in the summer, having failed to do so in January.

Reports indicate that Richarlison could leave Tottenham, while it has also been suggested that the Lilywhites are not expected to sign Randal Kolo Muani permanently, which necessitates a new striker.

One man they could turn to is Porto’s Samu Aghehowa, who Spurs have reported to have made some advances towards as he continues to be prolific in front of goal in Portuguese football. Aghehowa is said to have an £87m release clause.

Tottenham target Samu Aghehowa faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines

However, it has now been revealed by O Jogo that Aghehowa suffered a serious injury during Porto’s recent 1-1 draw with Sporting Lisbon.

The centre-forward was forced off at half-time of the game, and it has now been confirmed that he has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

As a result, the striker’s season is now over. He will undergo further tests to decide whether surgery is required, but the expectation is that he will face a lengthy rehabilitation period.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The report suggests that Tottenham and the Porto man’s other suitors may thus be forced to call off their pursuit of the 21-year-old.

Spurs among two leading contenders to land Serie A striker

With a move for Aghehowa now looking unlikely, the big question is which striker Tottenham would turn to in the summer.

It has been widely reported that Spurs are keeping themselves informed of the situation of Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract at Juventus runs out in June.

Why Tottenham fans should be concerned by Mauricio Pochettino’s ‘not enough’ comment - Spurs Web
Description

Mauricio Pochettino has delivered a message which has gone down well with Tottenham Hotspur supporters, but it highlights one big problem about his potential return as manager.

Thomas Frank will not be in charge of Tottenham Hotspur next season after the Spurs hierarchy finally pulled the plug on his tenure this week.

This leaves the door wide open for Mauricio Pochettino to make his return to North London, following the expiration of his US national team contract after the World Cup.

Many Spurs fans would be open to the Argentine coming back for a second spell, as they continue to cherish the unforgettable memories of the mid to late ‘10s.

However, Pochettino was never able to lift silverware at Tottenham, and his current mentality indicates this could continue if he takes charge of the Europa League holders next season.

Mauricio Pochettino will neglect the FA Cup and Carabao Cup

No one can deny that Pochettino was an excellent manager at Tottenham. In fact, he is one of the greatest to have occupied the home dugout at Spurs in recent times.

Despite this, there is no better feeling than winning a trophy, and it means everything, whether it is the Champions League, Europa League or even the Carabao Cup.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Pochettino might not agree though, as the ex-Spurs boss recently said winning the Europa League was not enough for the club. He also placed the League Cup and FA Cup in the same category, claiming Tottenham have to be competing for the two biggest trophies on offer.

Such calls for Spurs to do more could be seen as a jibe at the club’s unambitious ownership, so it will go down well with a lot of fans.

However, it shows that if Pochettino returns to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he could repeat the mistake of fielding weakened teams in the competitions he views as less important.

Spurs cannot realistically challenge for the Premier League

It would take years for Pochettino to get Spurs even close to winning the English top flight. Currently, relegation to the Championship is not even off the cards in N17.

As well as this, Tottenham are unlikely to be playing in Europe at all next season, so winning the Champions League will not be an option.

Pochettino’s comments are understandable, and he would be expected to get the Lilywhites competing in the league again. However, this cannot come at the expense of never winning trophies.

Ange Postecoglou knew what it meant for Spurs fans to win the Europa League, and Pochettino must realise this too.

Realistically, this is a club that is years away from winning anything bigger than an FA Cup, but lift that trophy and no one is complaining. That should be what the Argentine aims for if he makes the switch back to Tottenham.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in bringing a former Chelsea winger back to the Premier League during the summer transfer window.

Ahead of the January window, it was widely reported that Tottenham would prioritise signing a big-name winger, but in the end, the club failed to strengthen their attack.

This is despite Spurs’ major injury crisis and the fact that they sold Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace at the start of the window.

One would thus expect a wide player to be a priority in the summer, and it has now emerged that the Lilywhites have expressed an interest in a Serie A star.

Tottenham are one of three English clubs interested in Christian Pulisic

Calciomercato.it are now reporting that Milan are looking to restructure their squad in the summer and could sacrifice a former Chelsea man.

The Rossoneri would be willingto cash in on Christian Pulisic to fund a move for their top targets, and they are hoping that there would be a bidding war for the USA international if he has a strong World Cup.

It is revealed that Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Man United are all fans of Pulisic and are monitoring his situation.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The report adds that the Serie A club are hoping to raise €55m (£47.8m) from the sale of the 27-year-old winger.

Tottenham have reportedly been in repeat contact with Mauricio Pochettino over a potential summer return. Pulisic is a player Poch knows well from his time in charge of the US men’s national team.

Spurs’ top winger target may be slipping away

During the January window, it was reported that Yan Diomande was among the names at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist, but the winger ended up staying put at RB Leipzig.

Over recent weeks, Spurs have learned that Diomande is wanted by several other elite clubs across Europe, making a summer deal difficult.

It has also been suggested that Tottenham may be priced out of a move for the Ivorian, who could cost more than £80m.

Tottenham player has ‘long believed’ he has no future in N17 despite 27 games this season - Spurs Web
Description

One Spurs player is expected to leave Tottenham at the end of the season after the North London club expressed their stance in January.

The Tottenham frontline has misfired this season, which is why many Spurs fans were frustrated that the club did not add more firepower to their attack in January.

While Dominic Solanke’s return has alleviated some of Tottenham’s problems, as will the eventual returns of Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison, one would expect the Lilywhites to make big changes to their forward line in the summer.

It has now emerged that Spurs have already decided that one forward’s future lies away from N17.

Randal Kolo Mauni will exit Tottenham in the summer

TEAMtalk have now stated that Spurs and Randal Kolo Mauni will ‘go their separate ways’ in the summer, with the club having ‘little intention’ of making the forward’s stay permanent.

In fact, it is revealed that the Frenchman himself has long believed that he has no long-term place at Hotspur Way, which is why he explored cutting short his loan spell at the club in January.

The report claims that Tottenham were open to letting Kolo Muani depart in the January window if they had signed a replacement, but no viable move materialised.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is asserted that regardless of what happens over the next few months at N17, the France international will return to his parent club PSG in the summer.

European giants already plotting Kolo Muani move

TEAMtalk say that Juventus ‘pushed hard’ to land the 27-year-old during the winter window, and the Allianz Stadium remains the striker’s ‘most likely destination’ in the summer.

The forward impressed during his loan spell in Turin during the second half of last season, and it is revealed that the Bianconeri have maintained contact with the player.

Even though we are a long way away from the summer window, the Serie A giants are already ‘positioning themselves to strike’ on Kolo Mauni when the transfer window reopens.

AC Milan have been in contact with Tottenham for years to get some key advice - Spurs Web
Description

AC Milan are looking to Tottenham Hotspur for some advice that could influence the long-term future of the Serie A giants.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium remains one of football’s modern masterpieces and is the home to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

The revenue generated from the club is immense, as it not only hosts football matches but is a multi-purpose stadium capable of staging NFL games, boxing matches, and concerts.

The Spurs home stadium generates millions of pounds in revenue, which is fantastic for the club in both a footballing and business perspective – if Tottenham start investing more into the team, of course.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium inspiring AC Milan plans

Calciomercato are now reporting that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is catching the interest of AC Milan in Italy.

It is understood that AC Milan has been in contact with Spurs for years, with the Italian side looking to replicate the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Milan.

Milan is currently working on building the new San Siro, and it is believed that Spurs’ stadium is very much the reference point for what will be the new ground.

Key features AC Milan want to replicate from Spurs

The report also reveals what Milan is looking to copy from Tottenham’s home ground.

The transparent tunnel that Spurs, Manchester City and others have pushed forward appeals immensely to the Italian side, alongside selling hospitality packages and the ‘Tunnel Club’ schemes.

Milan believes that including these things is a step towards “making football ever closer to the fans”.

There are other elements too. The Italian side wants 71,500 seats and will adopt a more oval shape – again, another hint towards Tottenham. There will also be further features, such as a roof and internal shopping options.

Tottenham warned against hiring manager who might ‘throw his toys out the pram’

Tottenham warned against hiring manager who might ‘throw his toys out the pram’ - Spurs Web
Description

Tim Sherwood has now warned Tottenham Hotspur against hiring one Premier League manager following Thomas Frank’s dismissal.

Tottenham Hotspur finally pulled the plug on Thomas Frank this morning after the Dane struggled to turn things around at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Frank posted the worst points-per-game ratio of any Spurs manager appointed for more than five games, with the Dane averaging 1.12 points in his 26 games as manager.

Enough was enough for the Tottenham higher-ups, who decided to sack Frank following Spurs’ latest 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Tottenham managerial search: Tim Sherwood warns against Oliver Glasner

Attention now turns to the way forward for Tottenham, with the club having the option to appoint a permanent option now or to go the interim route ahead of the summer window.

When it comes to interim options, there are a handful for Spurs to pick from as they aim to steady the ship.

The same can also be said about long-term options, as several managers are out of jobs and could be willing to join Tottenham.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tim Sherwood has now ruled out a potential candidate who is still in a job. Speaking about Oliver Glasner’s conduct and suitability for the role, Tim Sherwood told Casinostugan: “Oliver Glasner has done a fantastic job at Crystal Palace but I do not like the way he has acted.

“I think he has thrown his toys out of the pram and I thought it was disrespectful to the club the way he came out and threw them under the bus.

“The club have been good to him. He knew when he took the job in the first place that Palace are a selling club. Their best players outgrow the club. That is exactly what happened, and this is not the first time Glasner has done this. He did the same at Frankfurt. Now he has done it again at Palace so I have no time for him.

“He has done a wonderful job. He has given the fans the best moment they have ever had in their recent history. He also gave them one of the worst moments with the way they went out against Macclesfield, do not forget.

“It all levels itself out but Palace have put him on the map in the Premier League and now I think a lot of clubs who might have taken a look at him before his outburst will think twice. They might think hold on, that might happen to us.”

Spurs face defining call in next managerial appointment

Picking the next manager is a big task for Tottenham, given how poorly their last couple of appointments have gone. This is not a decision they will want to rush into, and it is said Spurs could take until Monday to make an appointment.

Spurs are currently in a relegation scrap, with five points the difference between them and West Ham United, leaving the next manager with serious work to do as they aim to avoid relegation.

There is still some time to go before Tottenham next take to the pitch, and that should allow the board to assess their options before deciding on their next move.

Tottenham dealt blow as one top manager candidate distances himself from job - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s search for their next manager has already hit an early stumbling block, with one leading candidate distancing himself from the vacancy.

Tottenham Hotspur are now on the lookout for a new manager following the sacking of Thomas Frank, who spent just eight months in the dugout.

Spurs are sure to have a plethora of options as they weigh up whether to appoint a manager on an interim basis or sign one permanently.

The likes of Oliver Glasner, Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola remain managers with Premier League experience that Tottenham might want to consider after having them on their shortlist last year when they sought a replacement for Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham managerial target Andoni Iraola stance revealed

GIVEMESPORT have now revealed that Andoni Iraola would rather stay at Bournemouth instead of jumping ship to Tottenham.

It is believed that the Cherries manager is highly sought-after and one of the frontrunners to be approached by Spurs following Frank’s dismissal.

Iraola’s contract is set to expire in the summer window, meaning he is expected to be a free agent, allowing Spurs to sign him without paying any extra fees to the South Coast club.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, it is explained that the Bournemouth manager is not keen on a move to Tottenham because of the systematic unravelling of the season under departed boss Thomas Frank.

Tottenham search continues after Iraola setback

While Iraola is not keen on a move to Tottenham, it is believed that he is eyeing up a move to a top club, with an opportunity to return home and manage Athletic Club in Bilbao, where he spent 12 years as a player, amassing more than 400 appearances.

Robbie Keane reacted to his own Tottenham links with just four words, while Oliver Glasner was far from impressed at being asked about the Spurs job.

Marco Silva is also mentioned in GIVEMESPORT’s report, but it was not revealed whether he has sights on a move to Tottenham.

However, just like Iraola, the Portuguese manager is set to be a free agent in the summer as his Fulham contract runs down, with no news of him looking to sign an extension.

Tottenham handed worrying Dejan Kulusevski injury timeline update

Tottenham handed worrying Dejan Kulusevski injury timeline update - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have now been handed a worrying Dejan Kulusevski injury timeline update, with the midfielder dealing with another setback.

The injury situation at Tottenham Hotspur has only gotten worse, with players still dropping like flies this season.

Last campaign, Ange Postecoglou lost as many as 12 players to injury, and the story remains the same with Frank, who is now missing 11 first-team players.

Since January 2026, Spurs have lost over seven senior players to injuries, severely depleting the squad.

However, some injuries date back to last year, with Dejan Kulusevski’s knee problem one such case, happening in May 2025.

The Swede underwent injury to his patella later in the same month but has yet to kick a ball in the last nine months.

Tottenham injury concern as Dejan Kulusevski faces longer lay-off

We reported earlier that Dejan Kulusevski could make a possible return in March, but that looks unlikely, with Thomas Frank revealing at the start of the week that Kulusevski was set to see a specialist in the coming days.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The 25-year-old’s situation is becoming increasingly worrying, and now Sportbladet have provided the latest on the midfielder’s situation.

According to the outlet, it is understood that Kulusevski is unlikely to be available in March.

That is because it is stated that the Tottenham attacker is ‘nowhere near stepping out’ on the pitch, as he is still working on his rehabilitation.

There is a genuine fear that the Swede will be out for longer than expected, and that could also see him miss Sweden’s clash against Ukraine on the 26th of next month.

However, there might be little hope he makes it, but that in itself has been described as miraculous, and even if that were to happen, the Tottenham star will not be able to start for Sweden.

Spurs must remain cautious with Kulusevski’s recovery

Tottenham will want to be careful with the Swede and would not want to risk rushing him back after the serious injury he picked up.

At the rate of his recovery, there is every chance that Kulusevski might return to action at the very tail end of the current season.

Frank’s Champions League squad decision was also a further hint as to where things stand with the Swede, as he was again left out of Tottenham’s Champions League squad, which pretty much suggests that he is far away from recovering.

Thomas Frank’s most horrible stat has Tottenham down in the relegation zone

Thomas Frank’s most horrible stat has Tottenham down in the relegation zone - Spurs Web
Description

One stat on Thomas Frank’s tenure at Tottenham shows that the club could have, and arguably should have, sacked him a long time ago.

Over the course of his relatively short stay at Spurs, the former Brentford boss has managed to accumulate several undesirable records.

As Spurs Web previously revealed, Frank has the worst points per game record of any permanent manager of any ‘big six’ side in Premier League history.

However, there is one even more appalling stat, which is probably the bigger reason for his eventual sacking.

Tottenham’s home record this season is beyond disastrous

One can argue that the ultimate reason for Frank’s failure at Spurs was his inability to deliver performances or wins at home.

Tottenham are in the relegation zone this season if only results at home are considered, with only Wolves having fewer points at their stadium this term than their Lilywhites.

Across Frank’s 13 home matches in the league, Spurs won just two, while drawing four and losing seven, accumulating just 10 points.

MORE SPURS STORIES

They managed just 16 goals out of those 13 matches, which perhaps shows just why the crowd at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been so disgruntled.

Spurs entertained at home last season despite their struggles

Tottenham’s struggles at home did not just start with Frank, with the Lilywhites also being poor in front of their fans last season under Ange Postecoglou.

However, the reason the atmosphere was not as toxic at the time was that the team was still playing attacking football and giving supporters something to get behind.

Under Postecoglou last season, Spurs only had the 15th-best record at home, but they still scored 35 goals in their 19 home matches.

In sharp contrast, there have been very few matches this season when Tottenham have actually looked like scoring from open play at N17, and the numbers bear that out.
