How Scott Parker could earn Tottenham Hotspur millions this weekend - Spurs Web
Description

The results in the Championship this weekend will be of particular interest to Tottenham Hotspur, with the Lilywhites now close to receiving a sizable financial boost ahead of the summer if Scott Parker can do them a favour.

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans would have noticed in January that one of the club’s highly-rated former academy players returned to English football.

Marcus Edwards completed a loan move from Sporting Lisbon to Burnley on deadline day, and the winger has already impressed during his short stay at Turf Moor so far.

The Clarets are now on the verge of being promoted back to the Premier League, which is excellent news for Daniel Levy and Tottenham.

Tottenham set to recieve millions from Marcus Edwards deal

With their 2-1 win against Norwich City on Saturday, Burnley opened up a five-point lead over Sheffield United in third place.

The Clarets and table toppers, Leeds United, are now overwhelming favourites to seal automatic promotion to the top-flight, and this will benefit Tottenham.

Tuesday’s edition of Record (as relayed by Sport Witness) points out that Burnley have an obligation to make Edwards’ stay permanent for €10m (£8.5m) if they were to secure a promotion.

MORE SPURS STORIES

With Tottenham having a 35 per cent sell-on clause on the Englishman, they will receive €3.5m (£3m) of the fee if Scott Parker’s men secure their spot in next season’s Premier League.

What will happen if Burnley do not get promoted?

Even if Burnley have a huge collapse from this point and fail to win promotion, Edwards is still expected to be on the move this summer.

Record make it clear that Sporting Lisbon boss Rui Borges does not want the Tottenham academy graduate to return to Jose Alvalade Stadium this summer, with the Portuguese club’s hierarchy having made up their mind to cash in on him.

It would thus seem that Spurs are almost guaranteed to get a fee for Edwards this summer, one way or the other.

Second source confirms Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Theo Hernandez - Spurs Web
Description

After we first heard rumours of Tottenham’s interest in a French full-back last week, another source has now confirmed that the Lilywhites are indeed very keen on the player and will not have an issue meeting his valuation.

Last week, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Man City are plotting a shock move for Destiny Udogie this summer, with the news catching some Spurs fans by surprise, given the Italian’s struggles this season.

It looks like Tottenham Hotspur are not wasting any time formulating contingency plans in case they end up losing the 22-year-old.

Just a few days ago, one outlet claimed that Spurs have identified Theo Hernandez as a potential replacement for Udogie, and now a new source has also backed up the North London club’s interest in the AC Milan man.

Tottenham can sign Theo Hernandez at a discount

Fichajes have now also credited Tottenham Hotspur with an interest in Hernandez, but the outlet makes it clear that the Lilywhites will not have a free run at the player.

Interestingly, the 27-year-old is also thought to feature on the wishlist of Manchester City and Chelsea, with a three-way battle expected for his services this summer.

The publication adds that the France international is expected to be available for around £30m, which is not expected to be an issue for any of the three Premier League sides this summer.

Why Spurs may not view Hernandez as a Udogie replacement

Very interestingly, unlike the first report that emerged on this matter last week, this latest update from Fichajes does not mention that Tottenham see Hernandez as a replacement for Udogie.

That might suggest that Spurs plan on making a move for the Milan man even if they keep the Italian, which would make sense, given that Ben Davies’ contract runs out in June.

19 Tottenham players spotted boarding flight to Frankfurt – Heung-min Son not seen - Spurs Web
Description

The Tottenham Hotspur stars and backroom staff have today boarded their flight to Frankfurt, but which players were spotted getting on the plane?

Focus swiftly switches to the Europa League for Tottenham this week, where they will face Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday evening.

The importance of a victory in this European tie cannot be overstated, as it would keep Spurs’ season alive after a poor domestic campaign.

The North Londoners will train at the ProfiCamp later this evening, with Ange Postecoglou also due to hold his pre-match press conference.

The Lilywhites head into this clash with an almost fully fit squad. Dejan Kulusevski, who was a doubt before Sunday, made an early return and even featured for 15 minutes in Tottenham’s Premier League clash against Wolves.

Kevin Danso, who was also a doubt, was spotted in training after spending over a month on the sidelines because of a hamstring problem.

Which Tottenham players have flown to Germany?

Among the players seen at the airport boarding the flight were Guglielmo Vicario, Brandon Austin, Antonin Kinsky, Destiny Udogie, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Djed Spence, Lucas Bergvall, Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr, Archie Gray, Mikey Moore, Wilson Odobert, Rodrigo Bentancur, Brennan Johnson, James Maddison, Dominic Solanke and Mathys Tel.

MORE SPURS STORIES

As for the players not spotted on the plane, Heung-min Son and Kevin Danso were not visible, but that is not to say they are not part of the squad. Meanwhile, Timo Werner, who isn’t part of Tottenham’s Europa League squad, was also missing.

The pressure is firmly on Ange Postecoglou to secure a win and keep Tottenham’s hopes of ending their trophy drought alive.

Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie could be tempted by a move to Man City this summer - Spurs Web
Description

Pete O’Rourke has now provided an update on Man City’s rumoured interest in Destiny Udogie as reports continue to circulate over a potential shock move by the Champions for the Tottenham full-back.

Destiny Udogie had a stellar first season at Tottenham after arriving from Udinese in the summer of 2023, but he has fallen well short of that standard so far this campaign.

In fact, one can even argue that the Italy international is no longer in Spurs’ strongest eleven, given how well Djed Spence has done at left-back.

It was first revealed by Fabrizio Romano last week that Udogie has emerged as a target for Man City this summer, and this has now been backed up by another reliable source.

Destiny Udogie likely to be tempted by Man City move

Transfer market expert Pete O’Rourke has now told Football Insider that Man City will be in the market for a left-back “without a doubt” this summer.

He points out that Pep Guardiola’s men have lined up with academy midfielder Nico O’Reilly at left-back recently and claims that it is a position that they will want to upgrade to.

The journalist adds that the Tottenham Hotspur man could be tempted by a move to City if the club’s interest materialises this summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

O’Rourke asserts that a move to the Etihad Stadium ‘is likely to appeal’ to Udogie, particularly if Tottenham misses out on European football.

Tottenham make Udogie transfer decision

This report from O’Rourke comes a few days after we heard what sort of stance Tottenham are expected to take regarding the 22-year-old.

It was claimed by one source that Spurs have no intention of selling Udogie to Man City this summer, with Daniel Levy expected to fight to keep hold of the defender.

The same update explained that Tottenham are of the belief that the left-back’s poor form this season is down to his injuries and a lack of continuity.

Tottenham player tipped to double his wages with Saudi Arabia transfer - Spurs Web
Description

One Tottenham man, who is thought to be surplus to requirements at North London, is expected to consider a move to the Middle East this summer after a couple of Saudi clubs signalled their interest in the player.

A number of players across the Spurs squad have had injury-hit seasons but one man in particular has had horrible luck with injuries over the last two seasons.

Richarlison’s fitness woes have prevented the Brazilian from getting a consistent run in the side, especially this season, and it looks like the 27-year-old’s time at N17 may be about to end soon.

Reports over recent weeks have suggested that Tottenham are ready to cut their losses on Richarlison, and a fresh update has now discussed the forward’s potential options ahead of the summer.

Richarlison could swap Tottenham for Saudi Arabia

Some sources have suggested over recent weeks that Brazilian clubs are unlikely to be able to afford Richarlison, thus making a return to his home country difficult for the Tottenham Hotspur man.

This has now been backed up by journalist Jorge Nicola, who suggests that a move to Saudi Arabia could be on the cards for the former Everton man this summer.

Nicola said about Richarlison (via Bolavip Brasil): “Unable to play due to a series of injuries at Tottenham and ruling out returning to Brazil, Richarlison is more likely to move to Saudi Arabia. Two clubs have already signalled with big offers for the middle of the year.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

The journalist also suggested that the forward could potentially double his salary if he makes the move to the Saudi Pro League this summer, while Brazilian clubs such as Flamengo cannot even match the salary he earns in North London.

Is a Premier League stay on the cards for Richarlison?

One also cannot rule out the prospect of the 27-year-old staying put in the Premier League this summer.

It was reported last month that Everton are plotting a move to re-sign Richarlison from Spurs ahead of their move to the new stadium next season.

A return to Merseyside could appeal to the Tottenham man, who is thought to have maintained a good relationship with his former club.

Vinai Venkatesham forced to step down from role after taking Tottenham job - Spurs Web
Description

After agreeing to join Tottenham Hotspur as their new chief executive officer this summer, Vinai Venkatesham has now agreed to step down from his role as the chair of the Wembley Stadium Advisory Board.

Last week, Spurs confirmed that Venkatesham is set to be the latest addition to their board, having agreed to join as the new CEO at the end of this season.

The 44-year-old held the same position at Spurs’ fierce rivals, Arsenal, for over a decade before resigning last year, and Venkatesham is expected to take charge of operational matters on and off the field at Tottenham.

While the appointment has been welcomed by a lot of Tottenham supporters, some sources indicate that Scott Munn may be at risk of losing his job following the announcement.

Venkatesham agrees to leave his role with The FA

BBC Sport have now explained that Venkatesham will no longer continue in his role as the chair of the Wembley Stadium Advisory Board, now that his appointment at Tottenham Hotspur has been confirmed.

After departing from his role at Arsenal last year, he was appointed by the FA as the independent chair of a new advisory board in December to oversee the future development of the national stadium.

However, the executive is now expected to end his formal association with English football’s governing body before he starts work at Hotspur Way.

MORE SPURS STORIES

This is because Tottenham and the FA may compete for the right to stage non-footballing events at their respective stadiums, thus creating a conflict of interest for Venkatesham.

The publication adds that the 44-year-old’s decision to part ways with the FA has been ‘amicable’ with the soon-to-be Spurs CEO keeping the governing body informed of his potential return to the game over recent months.

What does Vinai Venkatesham’s arrival mean for Daniel Levy at Tottenham?

While Venkatesham’s appointment has been well received by some Spurs fans despite his Arsenal connection, one Tottenham fan group have called for transparency on Daniel Levy’s role going forward.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing moves for three Eintracht Frankfurt players, with the club’s recruitment team thought to have watched one young player closely in the first leg after he was asked to play out of position.

While Tottenham are looking to progress to the final four of the Europa League at Eintracht’s expense, there is a further subplot to the fixture as a couple of the Bundesliga side’s players are thought to be on the North London club’s radar.

Over recent months, there have been several reports suggesting that Spurs are big fans of Hugo Larsson and are plotting a summer move for the Swede.

A fresh update has now revealed that two more of Frankfurt’s players are on the wishlist of Tottenham Hotspur, as well as a few of their Premier League rivals.

Tottenham scouts were watching three Frankfurt players closely

TBR Football back up Tottenham’s interest in Hugo Larsson, but they also reveal that the Lilywhites are also admirers of Eintracht full-back Nathaniel Brown.

The report says that Spurs’ recruitment team were ‘taking notes’ of the 21-year-old after he was asked to play up the pitch in the first leg.

The outlet reveals that scouts from West Ham and Man City were also at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to check out Brown.

MORE SPURS STORIES

In addition to Nathaniel Brown and Larsson, Hugo Ekitike is another Frankfurt star who is alleged to be on the radar of Spurs as well as several of their rivals.

Hugo Ekitike received glowing reviews after Spurs performance

Hugo Ekitike stared on the night for Frankfurt, opening the scoring for the away side with a superb finish, which took his tally to 20 goals across all competitions this season.

TBR say that the scouts of various clubs who were in attendance at N17 last week sent back glowing reports and ‘loved’ the way the 22-year-old led the line against Tottenham.

Alejo Veliz has now reflected on his time in Europe so far and revealed why the start of his spell at Tottenham was made extremely complicated due to a little-known development.

Veliz arrived at Spurs with plenty of promise after dazzling for Rosaria Central in the Argentine top-flight, but the youngster has found going to be very difficult in Europe so far.

The centre-forward did show some glimpses of his quality at Tottenham last season, but his loan spells at Sevilla and Espanyol have been extremely disappointing.

There have even been rumours that a return to Argentina could be on the cards for Veliz this summer, with the striker as well as Spurs potentially facing a tricky decision.

Alejo Veliz reveals setback at Tottenham last season

The youngster has now spoken about the challenge of adapting to a new environment and culture at Tottenham Hotspur, admitting that playing in the Premier League is a fulfilment of a dream.

Veliz also revealed that he had to work hard to overcome a back problem that he was diagnosed with during his early days at the club.

When asked about his move to Tottenham, the striker told Ole: “The truth is, it was tough, crazy. Obviously, I was fulfilling a dream; I dreamed of Europe and the Premier League.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“They’re different cultures, especially the climate and language. Also, something that wasn’t widely known was that I arrived and developed a back problem I’d never felt before.

“I went a month and a half without training. No one knew because I didn’t make any progress at the time. It was tough because two days before, I had played 90 minutes with Central and suddenly they told me I had that problem. But luckily, I overcame it and always looked on the bright side.”

Veliz reflects on his loan spells away from Spurs

Veliz’s two loan spells in Spain have not gone according to plan. He hardly got a look in at Sevilla last season, and he is yet to really set the world alight for Espanyol, who continue to flirt with relegation.

Speaking on his time in La Liga, the Tottenham man said: “As a player, I always try to play, establish myself in a team, and be able to show my worth. Luckily, it was much easier for me in Sevilla because there were Acuña, Lamela, Ocampos, and others.

“But now, there aren’t any Argentinians at Espanyol, so it was a bit harder. But always with the same motivation, I always think positively and try to get the best out of everything.”

Description

Dele Alli might still be working his way back to full fitness, but a recent post from the midfielder has stirred nostalgia among Tottenham fans – with a heartfelt reunion alongside Harry Kane and Eric Dier.

After 748 days of absence, Dele Alli recently made his return to club football. The ex-Spurs player came on as a substitute in the 81st minute for his Como debut against AC Milan.

However, it was a nightmare of a debut, as Dele was sent off for a poor challenge on Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Dele has since explained that while the tackle looked cynical, there was no malicious intent from him, and even Loftus-Cheek has since told Alli via text message that it’s all good.

Dele Alli reunites with Tottenham pals Harry Kane and Eric Dier

The former Tottenham man has since completed his suspension and even made it to the bench on Sunday against Monza.

Of course, every Tottenham fan would love to see their cult hero back to his best once more; however, while they wait, Alli has now taken to social media to post a photo that will evoke nostalgia in fans.

The former Spurs man shared a photo of himself with Harry Kane and Eric Dier and captioned it, “Good to catch up with my brothers today! Good luck tomorrow mandem.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Following his latest Instagram post, fans flooded the comment section to share their emotions following what was a rather nostalgic post.

One fan said: “Nostalgie” another stated: “‘we’re putting the band back together!'”, Another fan who would love to see these stars return back to Tottenham commented: “Come back, guys.”

Another was quick to let them know that they have been missed: “You’ve really gone and done it, miss you guys “

One supporter couldn’t contain their emotion: “Is someone chopping onions?…. Because my eyes are suddenly very wet! Love you guys back together.”

Another simply commented: “Legends.” One fan made it clear how much better things were when the trio played at Tottenham: “The Spurs we were proud of.”

One supporter joked and asked if they would be available for Thursday: “Are you busy Thursday night, lads? Might need a bit of help.”

Kane and Dier are set to face Inter Milan in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, with the Bavarian side needing a win following a 2-1 defeat at the Allianz Arena.

Patience needed as Dele Alli eyes return to form for Como

It’s nice to see Dele Alli back on the pitch and reconnecting with his old mates. Alli’s personal struggles—both on and off the pitch—have been well documented, and many fans just want to see him happy again after such a turbulent period.

Description

The war of words between Tottenham Hotspur and Eintracht Frankfurt are now heating up ahead of the second leg, with an official from the Bundesliga club taunting the Premier League side and explaining why they will find life difficult at Deutsche Bank Park.

Tottenham Hotspur’s season very much hangs on the result of their upcoming Europa League quarterfinal, with the tie all square heading into the second leg.

Progressing to the final four will breathe new life into Spurs’ season as it will get the players and fans dreaming of lifting the trophy in Bilbao.

The noises coming out of Hotspur Way have been positive, with some Tottenham players suggesting that they can win at Frankfurt if they replicate last week’s performance.

Eintracht Frankfurt official reveals what awaits Tottenham

Frankfurt’s board spokesman Axel Hellmann has now spoken to the German media ahead of the big game and he made it clear that the Bundesliga side does not want to let this golden opportunity slip away.

He warned Spurs that an intimidating atmosphere awaits them at Deutsche Bank Park, adding that Premier League sides do not travel well in Europe.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Hellmann told BILD (as relayed by Sport Witness): “We can now decide what this season will become. It has to be a real blow on Thursday. I definitely don’t want us to let this opportunity slip away.

“We have to force the duels on Tottenham and show from the first minute that there’s nothing to be won against us in this stadium. The stadium will be on fire.

“Whenever English clubs leave the UK, they don’t bring the same quality to the pitch. We have to put pressure on this team, including from the stands. They have to glow when they have the ball.”

Key Spurs man could return to starting eleven on Thursday

While Tottenham’s record away from home has been poor this season, Spurs fans can take heart from the fact that Dejan Kulusevski is now back from injury, with the Swede playing a cameo as a substitute against Wolves.

Ange Postecoglou has refused to rule out Kulusevski starting against Frankfurt, and there is no doubt that the 24-year-old’s inclusion will add a different kind of threat to the Lilywhites’ frontline.

The Tottenham boss also has some big selection calls to make in other parts of the pitch, with his job potentially being on the line on Thursday.
