Tottenham Supporters’ Trust take dig at owners for ‘unrealistic’ and ‘undeniable’ decision - Spurs Web
Description

The subpar atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has long been discussed, and the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust believe there is a solution available to the club.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been a cause for controversy since it replaced the old White Hart Lane, mainly surrounding the costs of attending.

Spurs have a poor record there in the Premier League, with only Burnley having a worse record at their own ground this season.

There are issues with the lacklustre atmosphere at Tottenham’s stadium, but declining attendances have also become a worry, particularly for Champions League matches.

Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust want lower ticket prices

In order to fix the atmosphere at the state-of-the-art arena, the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust have called on the club to reduce ticket prices.

The group have pointed to the Europa League campaign last season to show that when tickets are priced reasonably, both the atmosphere and attendance improve.

“Over the last couple of seasons, it’s undeniable that the atmosphere has declined at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The reasons are simple – too many empty seats and too many supporters, particularly young supporters, priced out of attending. Thin the crowd and you thin the noise,” a THST statement said.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“Europa League nights last season, with sensibly priced tickets, proved the point: fair ticket pricing fills the ground, often with the next generation of Spurs fans. And the noise follows. This season, the illusion has gone. The Champions League – our flagship nights – has seen thousands of empty seats, in our view due to unrealistic and unaffordable match pricing.

“Even big Premier League games have shown gaps we’ve never known at Tottenham. A world-class stadium without a full house is only half a home. The South Stand – 17,000 strong – was a brilliant idea, but it hasn’t consistently fulfilled its potential. It’s not yet the relentless wall of sound we all dreamt of, and that’s a problem pricing and access can fix.

“We’re asking the club to make ticketing fair and affordable and encourage the next generation of all match-going fans, so the stands are packed, every match, all season. Fill our home – and we’ll find our voice again.”

Tottenham have continuously got ticket pricing decisions wrong

From pricing out the younger generation with some of the most expensive season tickets in the country, to scrapping concession tickets, Tottenham have got it wrong time and time again.

The poor football on display in N17 is a likely contributor to a decline in attendance, but there is clearly a problem with high ticket prices. At this point, regularly going to Spurs matches is simply not an option for some supporters.

Although the THST have been criticised in the past for failing to truly challenge the club, their latest statement is exactly what is needed. With Daniel Levy moving on and a new era underway at Tottenham, now is the time to listen to the fans and do what must be done to get the Spurs Stadium rocking again.

Pascal Chimbonda names Bundesliga striker he wants Tottenham to sign after 38-goal season - Spurs Web
Description

Pascal Chimbonda has exclusively spoken to the Spurs Web about which area needs strengthening at Tottenham Hotspur, and he has identified a player the club should sign.

Most Tottenham Hotspur supporters were able to agree that the summer transfer window went well for their team, despite some hiccups during negotiations with players.

However, there are still notable weaknesses in the Tottenham first-team squad, which can mostly be found in the attacking areas.

Spurs have the best shot conversion rate in the Premier League, but concerns remain over their ability to create chances and score goals from open play.

Pascal Chimbonda identifies which player Spurs should sign

Pascal Chimbonda has exclusively told The Spurs Web that a new striker is needed at the club. Tottenham did complete the signings of Mathys Tel and Randal Kolo Muani last summer, but neither has been able to cement their position in the first team.

According to Chimbonda, there is a striker from the Bundesliga who would be a perfect fit under Thomas Frank at Spurs.

He said: “Yeah, Tottenham definitely need to sign a new striker in January. I would like someone who can finish in front of the goal but it depends on who is available in the transfer market in January.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“I really can see [Borussia] Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy coming to Tottenham. He would fit perfectly.”

Serhou Guirassy would be a proven goalscorer for Tottenham

Guirassy has scored five goals in nine Bundesliga appearances this season, which is quite a low tally in comparison with the league’s best striker, Harry Kane.

However, it is still more goals than any Tottenham player has scored in the Premier League this season.

Of course, the English top flight is a tougher division to score goals in, but Guirassy bagged 13 goals and five assists in 14 Champions League matches during the 2024/25 campaign. In fact, he netted 38 times in all competitions last season.

The 29-year-old has experience and a strong record in front of goal, and he could be the player needed to get Spurs firing more consistently.

How long Tottenham have spent winning, drawing, and losing in the Premier League - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s start to the season has been a mix of highs and lows under Thomas Frank, but new data has revealed exactly how much time Spurs have spent winning, drawing and losing compared to their Premier League rivals.

Thomas Frank’s Tottenham Hotspur side is yet to hit full flow under the Dane, with results remaining inconsistent at this stage of the campaign.

The forwards and overall chance creation continue to be areas that require improvement, and Frank is well aware of that following the recent boos from Tottenham fans.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is quickly becoming a one billion pound problem that Frank needs to fix, given Spurs’ poor home record this term, with Tottenham having won just one league match on home soil all season.

Fixing that would naturally improve the one thing that matters most in football, and that is winning.

Spurs have managed five wins from their opening eleven matches, drawing three and losing three to sit fifth in the table. But how long exactly have they spent in winning, drawing, and losing positions?

How long have Tottenham spent losing in the Premier League this season

According to data from Opta, Tottenham are among the sides to have spent the most time in losing positions this season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Wolverhampton Wanderers, who currently sit bottom of the table, lead this category, having spent 58% of their matches trailing. West Ham United follow with 47%, while Liverpool, who have struggled to defend their title, are third with 37%.

Spurs find themselves in seventh place on this list, level with Brentford, Leeds United, and Nottingham Forest, with each side spending 32% of their matches behind.

In the six games where Tottenham have dropped points, they found themselves trailing against Bournemouth, a match they lost 1-0. They were also behind against Brighton after just eight minutes, but managed to secure a 2-2 draw.

Against Wolves, they fell behind but drew 1-1, while in the clash with Aston Villa, they took the lead but eventually lost, spending a huge chunk of their time chasing the game after Rodrigo Bentancur gave his side an early lead.

Tottenham also went behind in their defeat to Chelsea, and in the recent 2-2 draw with Manchester United, they came from a goal down to lead before conceding late.

Spurs rank low for time spent drawing in matches

When it comes to time spent drawing, Tottenham ranks amongst the lowest in the division. They sit 16th on this particular list, with Sunderland leading the way after spending 59% of their matches level.

Newcastle United come next with 57%, Crystal Palace are third with 56%, while Fulham and Nottingham Forest round off the top five with 52% each.

Spurs are on 34%, with Manchester City just behind in 17th on 31%. Wolves and Brentford follow on 30%, while Manchester United ranks lowest of all, spending just 29% of their matches level.

How much time has every team spent drawing

Tottenham mid-table for time spent winning in the Premier League under Thomas Frank

The final statistic concerns time spent in winning positions, where Spurs again sit around mid-table.

According to Opta, Thomas Frank’s side has spent 34% of their matches this season in winning positions.

In fact, when Tottenham do take the lead, they rarely lose, with their only defeat from a winning position coming against Aston Villa.

In their recent draw with Manchester United, Spurs were ahead briefly before a late equaliser from Matthijs de Ligt denied them victory.

Manchester City lead this category with 55% of their matches spent ahead, followed by Manchester United on 45% and Arsenal on 44%.

Bournemouth come next with 40%, while Chelsea and Brentford round out the top six with 38% each, just above Tottenham.

Tottenham 2026/27 third kit colours leaked as Spurs prepare bold change not seen since 2012 - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are already looking ahead to future seasons, with fresh leaks suggesting a bold new colour choice for their 2026-27 third kit.

It is still early in the 2025-26 campaign, but a few confirmations have already been made regarding changes to the Tottenham Hotspur kit in the near future.

It was confirmed earlier this month that Spurs will have a new shirt sponsor from the 2027-28 season.

The Lilywhites’ sponsorship deal with AIA is set to evolve, with the Asian-based insurance company moving from sponsoring the home, away, and third kits to sponsoring Tottenham’s training wear instead.

That means Spurs have just one more season with AIA displayed across the front of their shirts, and now, leaks have begun to emerge showing what the 2026-27 third kit could look like.

Tottenham 2026-27 third kit set to feature purple design

This latest leak comes from Opaleak, who claim that for the 2026-27 campaign, Tottenham will bring back purple as the main colour of their third strip – a shade that has not featured on a Spurs shirt for the past four seasons.

The kit will once again be produced by Nike, with the American manufacturer’s deal with Tottenham running until 2033.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is claimed that the 2026-27 Tottenham third shirt will feature Psychic Purple as the dominant colour, accompanied by New Orchid and white accents.

This would mark a notable departure from the club’s more traditional white and navy palette, although Spurs have previously experimented with purple tones in seven earlier designs.

The reported Psychic Purple shade is said to resemble the colours used in the 1998-99 and 2011-12 shirts.

Spurs third kit rumours yet to be confirmed

Of course, these remain rumours for now, as neither Nike nor Tottenham have officially confirmed any details at this stage.

The 2025-26 season is still in its early stages, and as the campaign progresses, more leaks and updates are expected to surface regarding next season’s kits.

While the colour choice appears to have been revealed, the design details of the Nike Tottenham 2026-27 third shirt – including the patterns, collar style, and sponsor placement – remain unknown for now.

The kit is expected to be officially launched in August 2026.

Tottenham told to kickstart a two-year plan to get Dane Scarlett ready for action

Tottenham told to kickstart a two-year plan to get Dane Scarlett ready for action - Spurs Web
Description

Pascal Chimbonda has shared his honest thoughts on Tottenham’s Dane Scarlett, naming the two key things he believes the forward must do before he can start earning minutes under Thomas Frank.

The forward players at Tottenham Hotspur could definitely do better when it comes to putting the ball in the back of the net.

Spurs often struggle in this regard, no matter the player who is deployed in the number nine position, be it Richarlison, Kolo Muani, or Mathys Tel.

Dane Scarlett is another option, but the 21-year-old is yet to feature for more than ten minutes for the senior team following his cameo off the bench against Copenhagen.

The youngster did look like a bright spark when he came on, as he won a penalty for Spurs, although Richarlison failed to convert from the spot.

Pascal Chimbonda explains what Dane Scarlett must do to play for Tottenham

Reports from earlier this month claimed that Thomas Frank was open to handing out more minutes to Dane Scarlett.

However, that has yet to happen, with the young forward down the pecking order as competition for places remains strong, as revealed by Frank himself.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Former Tottenham defender Pascal Chimbonda has now named what he believes Scarlett must do before breaking into Thomas Frank’s starting XI.

Speaking exclusively to Spurs Web, Chimbonda outlined the steps he feels Scarlett needs to take before earning regular minutes.

“I think Dane Scarlett needs to go on loan for a good two years in the Championship and make his name scoring goals before coming back with full confidence. If he does that, I think he will get a chance playing as an experienced 23-year-old.”

Scarlett’s future remains uncertain at Spurs

Scarlett is no stranger to going out on loan, having been sent away from Tottenham three times in his career.

His best spell came at Portsmouth, where he scored six goals in 40 appearances, while his loan last season at Oxford United was less impressive, with Scarlett netting four goals in 22 matches before being recalled in January.

Spurs did not loan out the young forward, whom Jose Mourinho once described as phenomenal, this season, which is surprising given that he has mostly featured in Premier League 2 with the Under-21s.

That is certainly not the level of experience he should be getting at this stage of his career if he is to develop into a top player.

Tottenham fans reveal whether they think Harry Kane will ever return like Gareth Bale

Tottenham fans reveal whether they think Harry Kane will ever return like Gareth Bale - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur fans’ hopes of a fairytale reunion with Harry Kane have been dampened once again following the latest round of transfer rumours surrounding the England captain.

Rumours involving Harry Kane and a potential return to the Premier League have refused to fade away.

The England captain remains within touching distance of Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goalscoring record and has therefore continued to be linked with a return to Tottenham.

Kane has not entirely dismissed such speculation but has maintained his stance that a decision on his future cannot be made now. His focus remains on performing for Bayern Munich, where he continues to showcase his elite goalscoring touch.

However, as the talk of another move gathers momentum, Tottenham fans are beginning to come to terms with the growing unlikelihood of their former talisman donning the Lilywhite shirt again.

Reports suggest that Barcelona are now in the race for Kane, with the Catalan club viewing him as the ideal long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

Following the latest developments, Tottenham fans have expressed their frustration and disappointment on social media, with many now losing hope of a potential reunion.

MORE SPURS STORIES

When asked on X if a Kane return was still possible, one fan wrote: “Coming back would be a good move for us but a bad move for him if I am being honest, he should be competing for the biggest trophies every season.”

Another supporter added: “No. He will come back as a Barca player and score four goals.” One fan said: “No, but also what kind of demented business would Barca be doing buying a 33-year-old striker with maybe two more years of peak physical performance? He would go for £80 million minimum.”

Others believe a move to Barcelona would end any hope of a reunion. One commented: “If he goes to Barcelona, which I think he will, then it ends that speculation. By the time he ends that contract, he will probably be in his late 30s, so I would not want him then, as much as I love him. I would take him back this summer in a heartbeat though.”

Another supporter added: “No. Just my opinion, but I think he will look to play for another club in England, but not Tottenham. Personally, I think his time at Tottenham is done.”

A final fan wrote: “Everyone wants it to happen, but probably not. He will probably continue with Bayern for another one or two seasons, then maybe move to another big club.”

Thomas Frank’s thoughts on Harry Kane’s potential return

Thomas Frank has left the door open for Harry Kane to return, admitting it is something he would gladly welcome if the opportunity arose.

Tottenham could do with a player of Kane’s quality, given their current struggles in front of goal, with Mathys Tel, Richarlison, and Randal Kolo Muani managing just six goals between them this season.

Kane’s output is more than triple that figure, having scored 23 goals in 17 matches, and if he were to return, Spurs could once again compete with their top-four rivals.

His ability to lead the line, link play, and deliver consistent goals would instantly elevate Tottenham’s attack, something they have sorely missed since his departure.

Tottenham reach ‘agreement in principle’ to sign midfield star until 2029, talks underway - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on welcoming one midfielder to the club on a permanent basis, as discussions begin to take shape behind the scenes.

We are eleven games into the Premier League season, and one can already tell the signings that have been a hit or a miss so far for Tottenham Hotspur.

Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha have proven to be worth every penny, while Xavi Simons, Randal Kolo Muani and Kota Takai are yet to prove themselves, with the jury still out on which side of the line they stand.

Kudus is a permanent signing, hence his future at Spurs is pretty much certain. However, Palhinha was signed on loan, and Spurs would have to decide on what to do with the defensive midfielder who has caught the eye in north London.

Tottenham agree deal in principle with Joao Palhinha

The Portuguese international has become a key cog in Thomas Frank’s side, bringing stability and steel to a midfield that has often lacked balance in recent years.

The 30-year-old has not just been a top defensive asset, but he also does the business at the other end of the pitch, having scored four goals and registered two assists for Tottenham in all competitions.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, it is understood that Tottenham Hotspur are very satisfied with Joao Palhinha’s performances so far.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The north London club are said to be ready to open talks with Bayern Munich to keep him on a permanent deal. It is also claimed that the midfielder has reached an agreement in principle with Spurs for a deal running until 2029.

Palhinha’s impact and what comes next for Spurs

Despite being 30 years old, Palhinha has come to Tottenham and elevated their game massively.

He has held things down in that holding midfield role, a position that has been a problem area for Spurs since Mousa Dembele’s departure.

Palhinha currently tops the list for tackles made in the Premier League despite taking a 12-month break when he moved to Bayern from Fulham two summers ago, surpassing Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo.

Tottenham Hotspur are one of eleven clubs keeping tabs on an exciting teenager Bundesliga prospect, and he has a release clause.

Building with the future in mind is just as important as signing established stars with first-team experience.

In recent transfer windows, Tottenham Hotspur have done both, although last summer saw Spurs focus more on players with the experience needed to steady the squad.

However, that has not closed the door on Tottenham, as they continue to keep tabs on emerging young talents across the globe.

Tottenham show interest in Kennet Eichhorn as race heats up

Tottenham are one of 11 clubs interested in signing Hertha Berlin’s 16-year-old defensive midfielder Kennet Eichhorn, according to TEAMtalk, with the youngster regarded as one of the brightest prospects in European football.

The tall, 6ft 1 midfielder has impressed with his vision, composure, and reading of the game, standing out in 12 appearances for Hertha Berlin in the 2. Bundesliga this season, despite their struggles.

Now, a host of European heavyweights, including Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Brighton, are all said to be vying for his signature.

Spurs among clubs monitoring Kennet Eichhorn’s release clause

Eichhorn’s growing appeal stems from his relatively modest release clause, which is believed to be capped at around £10.5 million (€12m).

The clause is structured based on the calibre of interest, with Premier League clubs and Champions League sides expected to pay the full amount, while domestic rivals in Germany could secure him for less.

TEAMtalk reports that Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are leading the chase within Germany, hoping to use their league standing and proximity to Hertha Berlin to their advantage.

Tottenham and Arsenal, meanwhile, are considering moves of their own, with both London clubs looking to add depth ahead of the second half of the season.

Finance expert predicts how much Tottenham could earn from next shirt sponsor

Finance expert predicts how much Tottenham could earn from next shirt sponsor - Spurs Web
Description

After confirmation that Tottenham ended their sponsorship agreement with AIA, football finance expert Stefan Borson has weighed in on the value the club can hope to get from a new front-of-the-shirt sponsor.

Spurs confirmed that from 2027, they will have a new front-of-shirt sponsor, bringing an end to their more than a decade-long partnership with AIA.

Instead, the club revealed that AIA will become the club’s Global Training Partner from July 2027 through to June 2032.

It has been reported by some outlets that Tottenham are looking to agree a new front-of-shirt sponsorship deal worth up to £60m per year.

Stefan Boron does not believe that a shirt sponsor will pay £60m a year to Tottenham Hotspur, suggesting the reported value is an overestimation of what the club can hope for.

The finance expert suggested that £40m would be realistic but pointed out that Spurs can get a few million more out of the deal by including peripheral marketing and hospitality rights as part of it.

Borson told Football Insider about Tottenham’s search for a new front-of-the-shirt sponsor: “I would think £35-40m would be the target price, probably something in that order. I mean, we know where the market is because it looks like Chelsea have been trying to get it for let’s say £60m.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“Now, I suspect that the proposition as a main sponsor of Tottenham Hotspur has more than you get within the sponsorship, partly because the stadium is just that much better and has more events and all of this sort of stuff.

“You’ve got the boxes and all this sort of stuff, so it’s not impossible that there’s a lot more value of the kind of peripheral marketing and hospitality rights that you get with Tottenham Hotspur.

“When you add these things up, that could be worth £3m of value, maybe. I would think that the upper limit is probably the sort of £60m that Chelsea haven’t been able to achieve. The more realistic level is, as I say, probably around £35-40m a season.”

Just a few days ago, another finance expert suggested that Tottenham could sell the shirt sponsorship and the naming rights of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as a single package.

That was proposed by Kieran Maguire, who claimed that Spurs can agree a £500m deal by pairing the shirt sponsor with the stadium naming rights.

Maguire claimed that it may have been for that reason that Tottenham ended their partnership with AIA, who may not have been interested in the naming rights of the club’s home ground.

Spurs signed Mason Melia from St Patrick’s Athletic for £1.6m plus add-ons back in February, with the youngster seen as one of the best young talents to emerge from Irish football over recent years.

The forward had to wait until he turned 18 to arrive at Tottenham, due to the post-Brexit rules, and he is now finally set to link up with the North London club in January.

The Lilywhites will be hoping that the prolific youngster can fulfil his potential at Tottenham, and Spurs fans will certainly be excited about the quality he showcased in front of goal this season.

The new Tottenham Hotspur forward played a total of 98 senior matches for St Pat’s, scoring 25 and recording eight assists.

He had a particularly impressive campaign in 2025, netting 13 goals and four assists to his name from 35 league matches.

Not only can one see the centre-forward’s goal-scoring instinct, but also his turn of pace and his aerial ability, which explains why the youngster is so highly thought of.

In fact, it has been reported that Tottenham had to fend off interest from around 60 clubs across Europe to secure Melia’s services.

The Lilywhites will be hoping that they have another Luka Vuskovic on their hands, and one would expect the club to loan out the youngster to the EFL next season.
