Everton could now find themselves battling Tottenham Hotspur this summer for the signature of Harry Wilson.

David Moyes has his side in the race for European qualification, whilst the north London strugglers look to salvage their Premier League status.

Despite this, Everton are going to have to compete alongside Spurs for Wilson’s signature if they avoid relegation.

Which of these players do you want to see Everton SIGN in 2026?

The following names have been suggested by fans on TalkingPoints…

Everton are interested in Wilson, who is set to become a free agent this summer, but so are a lot of other Premier League sides.

Tottenham join the race for Everton target Harry Wilson

Moyes is aware Everton need European football to land his targets in the summer transfer window.

That may apply to Wilson, but TeamTalk have now reported that Tottenham have entered the picture for the Welshman.

There could be a fire sale in north London this summer if they go down! 🔥

Who'd you take at Everton from their squad?

MORE EVERTON STORIES

It is suggested that a move across London is now a ‘concrete possibility’ despite the situation the Lilywhites find themselves in.

However, there is a long list of clubs showing interest in the Fulham winger.

Liverpool and Manchester United are also credited with an interest in Wilson, who Marco Silva is desperate to keep.

Fulham have offered Wilson a new contract to extend his stay beyond this season at Craven Cottage.

It has been a mightily impressive season for the 29-year-old, who has returned 10 goals and six assists in the Premier League alone.

This could act as a good marker for Everton. The Blues should hold an advantage over Spurs this summer given their struggles in north London, but Everton must land European football to really push on.

Former Everton manager Sean Dyche directly addresses rumours he’s in talks with Tottenham - everton.news
Description

Former Everton manager Sean Dyche has been linked with several jobs since being sacked by Nottingham Forest last month.

West Bromwich Albion made Dyche their ‘top target’ before hiring James Morrison as interim until the end of the season.

Dyche was then mooted to hold talks with Crystal Palace, as Steve Parish and his chiefs prepare to replace Oliver Glasner in the summer.

Does Sean Dyche get enough credit for his spell at Everton? 🤔

He worked under difficult financial circumstances 😫

Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with Dyche, and now the former Everton boss has responded to the rumours that he’s been in discussions with the relegation-threatened North Londoners.

Sean Dyche rubbishes rumours he’s had talks with Tottenham Hotspur

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Dyche rubbished the rumours that he’s held talks with Tottenham, who are currently managed on an interim basis by Igor Tudor.

Jonny Owen asked: “I have to have some fun with this, according to social media, you were in talks last night with Spurs?”

Dyche replied: “Oh it’s brilliant, honestly, I was in the pub just up the way, near my place, I’ve gone down there and this guy goes, ‘aren’t you meant to be in talks with Spurs tonight?’ And I said, I’m sat next to you having a pint of Guinness.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

“So I said, it’s unlikely. I said, unless you work for Spurs, and they’re in the Seven Stars pub having a pint of Guinness, I said, it’s highly unlikely.

“No, I’m not, I’m with you, mate, and I’m on talkSPORT. That’s what I’m doing.”

Ryan Mason, Chris Hughton and Tim Sherwood have been mentioned as potential interim options, whilst Marco Silva and Roberto De Zerbi are thought to be long-term candidates for the job.

As it stands, Tudor is set be in charge for Spurs’ clash against Sunderland after the international break.

David Ornstein shares update on former Everton boss Sean Dyche amid Tottenham links - everton.news
Description

Everton may have to defeat Sean Dyche on the final day of the season to qualify for European football.

The former Toffees boss is being linked with a move to Tottenham as the north Londoners hover one point above the relegation zone under Igor Tudor, with only seven games to go – the last of which being a clash against Everton in N17.

David Ornstein has now shared what he is hearing about Sean Dyche as the 54-year-old finds himself in contention for a shock role.

Does Sean Dyche get enough credit for his spell at Everton? 🤔

He worked under difficult financial circumstances 😫

David Ornstein says it is “not clear” whether Sean Dyche would even accept the Tottenham job

Speaking on the Back Pages podcast for Sky Sports about Dyche – who Crystal Palace are also considering – the reliable journalist said: “Well, it’s an emergency at Spurs, and desperate times call for desperate measures. I’m not saying that in a derogatory way towards Sean Dyche as well, he’s an excellent coach and has proved as a manager with his record in the Premier League and in football full stop.

“But, you wouldn’t immediately have him down as a candidate to manage Tottenham Hotspur in terms of style and in terms of the clubs that he’s managed so far, and where Tottenham traditionally see themselves. But he’s available. Whether he would take it or not, it’s not clear.”

Dyche – who James Garner aimed a dig at after his England call – was only recently sacked by Nottingham Forest in February, winning just six of his 18 Premier League games in charge, so the man from Kettering may prefer a period of reflection before jumping straight into another difficult job.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

It would be quite some story if the former Everton boss did end up at Tottenham, only for David Moyes to potentially relegate him and secure European football for the Toffees on the final day.

Seven games left and on 46 points – how many points do you expect Everton to finish on? 🤔

After years fighting relegation, fans would even be overjoyed with a spot in the UEFA Conference League, but with Everton sitting just three points off fifth right now – which will be enough for UEFA Champions League football this term – the 2025/26 campaign could prove to be a truly memorable one.

Jamie O’Hara left eating his words as bizarre Everton criticism backfires - everton.news
Description

Jamie O’Hara previously mocked Everton and the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but his comments are not ageing well as his beloved Tottenham Hotspur stare relegation in the face.

It was a contrasting weekend for the two clubs, with Everton cementing their European dreams and Tottenham losing ground in the relegation battle.

David Moyes has transformed the Toffees in the space of just a year, with the trajectory in comparison to Spurs quite startling.

Has the Hill Dickinson Stadium brought new problems for Everton fans? 😬

Season ticket prices are expected to rise for next season 💰

Having moved into the Hill Dickinson Stadium earlier this season, O’Hara had some choice words to say about Everton’s new home, but he won’t be laughing any more.

What Jamie O’Hara said about Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium

Back in November, O’Hara slammed the Hill Dickinson Stadium as a poorer version of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“Have you seen Everton’s Stadium? Have you seen inside it? It looks like a toy Spurs stadium,” O’Hara said.

Give us your gut feeling… will Everton make it into Europe? 🌍

MORE EVERTON STORIES

“When you watch it on TV now, it looks like Spurs, but just not as big. It’s like a toy version of it. Everyone wants to copy our stadium!”

Heading into the international break, O’Hara has certainly been left with egg on his face after seeing how the two sides’ seasons have panned out since these comments.

Everton and Tottenham on completely different trajectories

Although Spurs finished 17th last season, they were never really in danger of being relegated, but this season they have sleepwalked into the threat.

Meanwhile, Everton are pushing for European qualification, with Champions League football still not being ruled out.

It is quite incredible how the two established Premier League clubs have seen their trajectories change over the last 12 months.

Spurs are the reigning Europa League champions, yet they face the real threat of dropping down into the Championship.

The Friedkin Group have transformed Everton’s future having stabilised the club following their takeover in late 2024.

Perhaps the most encouraging part of their takeover is that they have only had one summer transfer window at the club to put their stamp on the squad.

A lot is still left to be decided in the final weeks of the 2025/26 season, but one thing that is certain is that O’Hara’s comments have not aged well.

Everton may have taken some time to make the Hill Dickinson Stadium their home, but Saturday’s win was just the scalp the home fans were waiting for on Merseyside.

Troy Parrott explains why he rejected Everton for Tottenham in 2017 - everton.news
Description

Troy Parrott is a player Everton admire, and have done for many years.

The Toffees were interested in signing the Irishman during the winter transfer window, with many Everton fans on our TalkingPoints platform picking the AZ Alkmaar No.9 as the player they want the most.

Parrott has now spoken to VI in the Netherlands after netting his 23rd goal of the season in 32 appearances – and the Republic of Ireland international revealed he once turned Everton down.

Which former Everton striker would you hypothetically bring back to play in the current side? 🤩

Troy Parrott admits Tottenham gave him “the best feeling” when snubbing Everton

The 24-year-old actually had the chance to sign for Everton in 2017, but opted for Spurs instead as he got “the best feeling” from the north Londoners.

Parrott said: “I turned out to be good at it (playing as a striker). From a young age, I was asked by foreign clubs to do internships. I played for Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Celtic.

“Some clubs turned me down, but in the end, I had to choose between Spurs, Everton, Wolves, and Celtic. Tottenham gave me the best feeling. I felt incredibly welcome there, which is especially important at a young age.”

Parrott – who is looking for a club like Everton – went on to score 17 goals in 15 appearances for the Tottenham U18 side, before netting nine in nine U19 outings and five goals in 14 games for the U21s, form which earned him four senior appearances at Spurs.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

However, the man from Dublin never truly got a run in the side due to the presence of Harry Kane, before finding success in the Netherlands with Excelsior and then AZ Alkmaar.

History with Everton could make Troy Parrott more open to a Hill Dickinson Stadium move

If Everton make an approach for Parrott this summer, the fact he previously spent time at the club and had an offer on the table from the Toffees could potentially make him look favourably on a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The other clubs he mentioned, such as Wolves, will not be in a position to secure his signature this summer as they prepare for the Championship, while Spurs already have a number of strikers like Dominic Solanke, Richarlison and Mathys Tel.

Celtic arguably won’t be able to afford a deal either, with a reported price tag in the region of £25m to £30m.

Winter window now shut, what striker do you want signed in the summer for Everton? 💥

No excuses can be made when the window opens again 😫

Eleventh hour Everton hijack could transform David Moyes’ side in Tottenham blow - everton.news
Description

Everton are now in a position where they should be competing with some of the top clubs in the Premier League over signings.

The summer transfer window saw Everton take a big step in the right direction with the statement signing of Jack Grealish.

In landing the 30-year-old, The Friedkin Group demonstrated their desire to take the club forward by splashing some significant cash.

David Moyes was delighted with Everton’s summer business, but the positive work done by the American owners has to continue into this transfer window and beyond.

There are clear needs to be filled in Moyes’ squad and Tottenham Hotspur are on track to sign a player who would certainly improve Everton’s side.

Everton are dreaming of European qualification and they will need to establish themselves among the so-called big six clubs, and Everton could do so by pipping Spurs to this signing.

Everton must hijack Tottenham move for left-back Souza

Following his early struggles on Merseyside, Everton are open to offloading Adam Aznou before the transfer window shuts.

Vitaliy Mykolenko’s own future at Everton is also up for debate as his current deal is set to expire at the end of the season.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

According to Florian Plettenberg, Spurs have now agreed personal terms with Santos left-back Souza, with the player on the verge of a move to north London.

Who would be your dream left-back signing for Everton? 💰

Everton simply have to improve on Vitaliy Mykolenko! 😫

The Brazilian left-back is believed to be keen on the notion of moving to England to join the Lilywhites.

This is the type of player who could potentially improve Everton at left-back by providing an attacking option for Moyes.

Everton are looking at Zakaria El Ouahdi as a potential option to add at left-back, but the current Spurs target is a player who could unlock opposition defences for the Blues.

With Thierno Barry suffering from a lack of service, Everton could flourish with a left-back like Souza in defence.

Souza could be the perfect left-back for Everton

It was evident on Wednesday night that Everton really lack that cutting edge from the full-back positions, with neither Jake O’Brien or Mykolenko offering an attacking threat.

Everton are keen to add a new right-back this month, but left-back is becoming just as big of a priority.

Souza has established his style of play over in Brazil, with an attack-minded nature to the 19-year-old game.

How much trust in Everton’s recruitment team do you have to find January additions? 😫

Spurs being interested in the player is something that should encourage Everton fans may have to be taken with a pinch of salt, though.

The modern game requires teams to play with full-backs who are able to contribute at both ends of the pitch, which Everton simply do not have currently.

At just 19, there may well be a concern from some fans of repeating the Aznou signing if Everton were to make a move for Souza.

However, his stats show that he would be a considerable improvement if he was able to carry those levels over to the Premier League.

With a willingness to get the ball into the box, he could be the player who could unlock Barry in an Everton shirt.

Everton reject opportunity to sign Tottenham forward after agent contact made - everton.news
Description

Everton are on the lookout for January additions, but the Blues have already turned down one opportunity.

The January window may only be a matter of hours old but there is plenty of business already being done across Europe.

David Moyes needs more firepower at the top end of the pitch, with goals few and far between for his strikers in the first half of the season.

It has been a promising start to the season for Everton as they head into Sunday’s game against Brentford sat in eighth position in the table.

However, Everton are keen to add more goal threats to their squad before the window shuts in the coming weeks.

Although goals are needed, there is one player who Everton have already rejected the chance to buy this month.

Over the last 24 hours, Everton have received positive injury news over Iliman Ndiaye following his scare at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Tyler Dibling has been handed an opportunity to impress at right-wing whilst the Senegal international is away in Morocco.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

According to TeamTalk, Everton were contacted by the representatives of Tottenham Hotspur player Manor Solomon before his loan move to Fiorentina.

Forget your January hopes, what do you actually expect from Everton in the market? 🤔

Along with the Toffees, it is claimed his representatives contacted the following clubs:

With a lack of interest in the winger, Spurs agreed a deal with Serie A outfit Fiorentina for Solomon to join on loan with an option to buy.

Moyes says Everton will only sign the right players in January as the Friedkins are prepared to back the club once again.

Times have changed on Merseyside as the Toffees look to avoid any unnecessary spending in the market.

Everton correct to reject Solomon offer

Well done to Everton for turning down this opportunity and it is clear the winger did not have any interest from the other English clubs.

Since returning to Spurs over the summer, Solomon was loaned out to Villarreal, where he struggled for minutes in La Liga.

Everton are interested in PSV striker Ricardo Pepi, would he replace Thierno Barry straight away? 👀

Moyes has liked what he’s seen from Dibling in his recent showings whilst Ndiaye is away on international duty.

The Toffees do desperately need more quality up top before the window closes, though.

But Everton are taking the correct approach in not rushing into signings with Angus Kinnear and co keeping the club on the right track.

Everton learn Brennan Johnson’s decision as medical expected in the next 24 hours - everton.news
Description

Everton are set to discover Brennan Johnson’s answer as he is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the next 24 hours.

Just hours separate Everton and the January transfer window and added quality is certainly needed on Merseyside.

David Moyes saw his side battle hard at the City Ground on Tuesday evening, but that cannot paper over the cracks with his squad.

The January window is going to offer The Friedkin Group with an opportunity to continue the fine work shown over their opening 12 months at the club.

As the Blues eye more firepower for their attack, it has been suggested that Everton have contacted Spurs over Johnson.

Hours out from the window opening and it looks as if the Wales international will secure a very early move in the January market.

Brennan Johnson set for medical after Everton show interest

Pep Guardiola is a big admirer of Johnson, who was Tottenham’s top goalscorer from right-wing last season.

Despite his impressive goal return, the Wales international is now set to leave north London just months on from winning them the Europa League.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

According to The Telegraph, Johnson is now set to undergo his Crystal Palace medical in the coming 24 hours.

Everton are interested in Brennan Johnson… is he what we need? 🧐

Having agreed a fee in the region of £35m-£40m, the Eagles are believed to be Johnson’s top choice.

A deal is expected to be completed over the coming days and potentially in time for him to face Newcastle United at the weekend.

Everton have held a long-standing interest in Johnson even back to his days with Nottingham Forest.

However, it looks as if the Blues are going to miss out on him again, but they have plenty of quality in that area already.

Everton did not need to spend £35m on Johnson

There will be plenty of nerves on Merseyside as Iliman Ndiaye undergoes tests for an injury potentially sustained at AFCON.

A real strain has been placed on Everton’s options over recent weeks with the injury list piling up.

How many signings do you want to see made in January? 💰

A striker, a midfielder and a right-back… are we missing anything here?

However, a new right winger is not what Everton need in the January window.

The Toffees are in desperate need of a new right-back and potentially another striker to help ease the burden on Thierno Barry.

With the hope that Ndiaye returns next month from AFCON, Everton have two strong right-wingers in the Senegal international and Tyler Dibling already.

Everton should rival Crystal Palace for Tottenham outcast in January as Dwight McNeil upgrade - everton.news
Description

Everton’s recruitment team is expected to be busy throughout the January transfer window.

The Toffees are in a decent position (12th) halfway through the Premier League campaign, but there is plenty of room for improvement.

It has become abundantly clear that David Moyes does not have enough quality options beyond the starting eleven.

The Everton board are unlikely to spend big next month, but they should provide Moyes with enough funds to make a few shrewd signings.

Here, we have suggested a deal for an out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur player that would make perfect sense.

Is there a better option out there for Everton instead of Nicolas Jackson? 🤔

Everton should target Brennan Johnson in the January transfer window

Everton will probably not be in the market for any high-profile signings that would threaten their transfer record (£45 million).

Instead, they could explore opportunities to sign transfer-listed players for less than their market value.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

A prime example would be Brennan Johnson, who has struggled for minutes under Thomas Frank at Tottenham.

The Welshman is thought to be unhappy with his lack of playing time in North London and could be on the move next month.

Sky Sports are now reporting that Bournemouth have joined Crystal Palace in the race to sign Johnson, but why not Everton?

Johnson is a Premier League-proven goalscorer from the wing positions, which cannot be said about Dwight McNeil or Tyler Dibling.

So, if he were available on loan or as a cheap transfer, Everton would be wise to add him to their ranks ahead of the two south coast clubs.

It would represent a similar deal to the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea – a player not quite good enough to play consistently for a Big Six club.

Was it a mistake to let Dominic Calvert-Lewin go? 🤔

The former Everton striker is on fire at Leeds! 🔥

Everton should make at least three signings in January

Everton should sign at least three players in the January transfer window if they want to climb the Premier League table in 2026.

As it stands, the Toffees probably lack the strength in depth to maintain a position in the top half for all 38 games.

The priority for Everton has to be a new striker, as Thierno Barry and Beto have only scored two goals between them this season.

Meanwhile, a new right-back will also be on the agenda due to Seamus Coleman’s injury struggles and Nathan Patterson falling out of favour.

The third signing could either be a goalscoring winger, such as Johnson, or a central midfielder to avoid recalling Harrison Armstrong from his loan at Preston.

Description

Everton are going to need to bolster their options in midfield during the January transfer window.

It has been issue after issue for David Moyes in recent weeks when it comes to his midfield options on Merseyside.

On Tuesday, Everton returned to winning ways, but the points were slightly tainted by Tim Iroegbunam’s fifth yellow card of the season.

Iroegbunam will now miss Everton’s game against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, leaving Moyes without the following midfielders:

Everton News columnist Alan Myers is hoping Everton sign another midfielder in the January transfer window.

One player believed to be on the radar is Tottenham Hotspur’s Yves Bissouma and he may have just dropped a clue over his future.

Yves Bissouma drops clue on his future amid Everton interest

Tottenham are open to selling Bissouma in January on the back of interest from clubs like Everton over the summer.

The Mali midfielder is currently working through an injury issue, but is set to see his contract expire at the end of the season in north London.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

As he works on his return, footage of Bissouma has surfaced on Snpchat, showing the midfielder to be wearing a Fenerbahce shirt.

Everton need midfielders, but would you want to see Yves Bissouma signed? 😬

Bissouma was linked with a potential move to Turkey with Galatasaray interested in working a deal for the 29-year-old.

That proposed move fell through and Bissouma is now wearing the shirt of their bitter rivals, Fenerbahce.

West Ham were also keen on Bissouma over the summer, with his future in north London seemingly done.

Whether he is hinting towards a move to Turkey or not, wearing another team’s shirt is not usually something that goes down well among fans.

Everton absolutely must invest in their midfield

Rohl is expected to return from injury in January, but the Blues will still be without Gueye for a few weeks.

Moyes has admitted that Everton will consider recalling Harrison Armstrong from his loan stint with Preston North End.

Use just one word to sum up this man’s performance vs Bournemouth!

Everton News understands that Moyes would like to leave Armstrong at Preston for the remainder of the season to continue his development.

More is going to be needed in January through some means.

The suspension to Iroegbunam is going to stretch Everton’s midfield options even more at the weekend.

Whether Bissouma is the answer remains to be seen, with the midfielder having not played a single minute this season.

Perhaps this could be one to revisit in the summer for Everton.
