Kyran Thompson who was on the verge of joining Tottenham, has instead signed for rivals Arsenal.

The North London club have made a major change to their transfer approach since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou. They have been quite strategic about everything they have done so far and the focus has been on signing young players who can help them in the long run.

They added Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Wilson Odobert to their squad in the summer but according to Secret Scout, Spurs missed out on the services of teenage midfield sensation Kyran Thompson who has now ended up joining arch-rivals Arsenal.

The Gunners have completed a deal to sign the 15-year-old sensation who is capable enough to play as a number 10 as well as out wide on the left flank. He is all set to link up with their youth team as the Premier League’s five-step ratification has been completed.

While Mikel Arteta’s team have won the race for his services, the young midfield sensation was on the verge of joining Tottenham Hotspur. He was within touching distance of signing for Ange Postecoglou’s team back in July but Arsenal made a late move to secure his services from West Ham.

Thompson was a part of the Kent Elite Team scouting setup before he made the move to the Hammers. He was already a big name and Spurs were keeping a close eye on him. While they did try to lure him to the club, Tottenham couldn’t get it over the line and the Gunners eventually won the race.

Tottenham academy graduate Mikey Moore could be handed an opportunity in their Europa League opener against Qarabag.

The North London club have had a mixed start to the 2024/25 season. While they have been playing an impressive brand of football, they haven’t got the desired results so far. After successive losses against Newcastle United and Arsenal in the Premier League, Spurs returned to winning ways against Brentford.

Now, they will look to build on that result when they host Qarabag in their opening Europa League fixture. Ange Postecoglou will look to mix things up and hand opportunities to a few of their young stars and according to a post from the club yesterday, Mikey Moore was left out of Tottenham’s Under-21 squad to face Exeter City on Wednesday. It seems highly likely that he could be a part of the Europa League squad now.

The 17-year-old attacking sensation is considered to be one of the best young players to have come up the ranks at Spurs. He was a part of their squad for the fixture against Bournemouth and came on for a two-minute cameo.

Missing out from the Under-21 squad suggests he will once again be a part of their first-team squad. This time around, he could have an even bigger role as Postecoglou seems to have a lot of trust in the youngster.

Given the kind of impact he has had at the youth level and the fact he can feature in multiple roles up top, the Australian manager could continue to trust in him and Moore could regularly be seen in the senior team moving ahead.

Former Premier League midfielder Danny Murphy has pinpointed fingers at Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario for his slow performances early on in the season.

Vicario, who joined Spurs from Empoli in the summer, quickly established himself as one of the team’s standout performers, delivering remarkable saves and earning high praise in his debut season.

However, he has failed to replicate his form in the second season. His performances have not been upto the mark since the pre-season, with the Italian making couple of errors leading to goals during the friendlies against Bayern Munich.

And his start to the season has not been the best either with his performances coming under criticism by pundits and fans.

Danny Murphy is the latest to comment on his start to the season, claiming that he appears to be low on confidence at the moment.

He claimed that his early struggles are one of the reasons to Tottenham’s slow start to the campaign.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said:

“Tottenham’s position of 10th is a little bit false in some respects because the only thing they have been lacking really is well, two things!”

“One is quality in the final third because every game they play, they get in good positions and the goalkeeper who has got at least 10% of confidence to get himself off the line and maybe pass to his own players a bit more often because he is really struggling.”

Despite the recent struggles, Vicario remains Spurs’ undisputed No. 1 goalkeeper.

That said, Vicario will need to regain his confidence in goal and get back to his best form to help Tottenham climb up the table and help his side to a strong season.

Former Tottenham scout Bryan King has revealed some interesting insights into what the club is doing to develop Mikey Moore behind the scenes.

The 17-year-old is regarded as one of the brightest talents to emerge from the Spurs academy.

Despite his young age, Moore has made huge strides and is expected to play a significant role under Ange Postecoglou this season.

Since joining Tottenham as an under-9, Moore has consistently advanced through the ranks. He was incredible in the U18 Premier League last season, scoring 14 goals and providing 8 assists in just 12 games.

His outstanding performances earned him his first professional contract, which he signed recently.

Moore was involved in the recent win against Brentford, coming off the bench in the dying minutes to replace Dominic Solanke.

Now, Bryan King has revealed that the youngster is putting in extra work behind the scenes and could become a frequent feature in the first team this season.

He told Tottenham News:

“It was quite exciting to see Moore come on against Brentford.”

“He’s been doing extra work behind the scenes with a personal coach, working with Jamie Atkins, who is Ian Atkins’ son. Jamie runs a camp for young players called Peak Performance. He’s worked with Moore, and both Ian and Jamie tell me this kid is a big talent.”

“I think Moore has a real future in the game; he looks very confident. Players like Harry Kane, Glenn Hoddle, and Steve Perryman all broke into the team at a young age. Let’s hope Moore can follow in their footsteps.”

His appearance against Brentford could mark the beginning of more first-team opportunities, especially considering the number of fixtures Tottenham have to play.

Moore has shown that he has the potential to follow in the footsteps of players like Harry Kane, becoming the next big academy star to establish himself as a regular first-teamer.

Having been at the club for over nine years now, he has played with some big names.

Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly keen on signing the Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from TBR, Tottenham considered a move for the 23-year-old striker before they opted to move for Dominic Solanke. Boniface had an exceptional season last year and scored 21 goals in all competitions. He picked up 10 assists along the way as well.

There is no doubt that the striker would have been a quality acquisition for the north London club. However, Chelsea have now entered the race to sign him and they are monitoring his progress ahead of a potential move. The Blues could certainly use more attacking quality and the 23-year-old would be a superb addition.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham reignite their interest in the player in the coming months. They could certainly use more depth in the striking department. Richarlison has been quite underwhelming since joining the club and he has been linked with an exit. Replacing him with the 23-year-old Bundesliga striker could prove to be a wise decision in the long term.

The striker will certainly be attracted to the idea of playing in the Premier League. It will be an excellent step up in his career and he will look to prove himself at the highest level.

Both Tottenham and Chelsea will be attractive destinations for the player, and it remains to be seen where he ends up.

Meanwhile, Solanke is yet to live up to the expectations at his new club and he will need to capture his top form soon.

Tottenham Hotspur will compete in the UEFA Europa League this season and they will look to do well in the European competition.

They are one of the strongest teams in the competition and they will look to win the tournament. They have managed to win the Europa League, formerly known as the UEFA Cup twice in their history. It remains to be seen whether we can go all the way this time around.

There is no doubt that they have a talented squad at their disposal and they have a charismatic manager in charge as well. They have not won a major trophy for a while, and they will look to end the wait for silverware this season.

Winning the UEFA Europa League would not only grant them entry into the UEFA Champions League, it would also end the wait for a major trophy. It would give them a major confidence boost ahead of the next season. However, the Opta Supercomputer has predicted (via Daily Mail) them to finish fourth in the tournament.

The Opta Supercomputer expects Spurs to win the tournament this year and they have predicted that Spanish outfit Athletic Club Bilbao will finish as the runners-up. They expect Slavia Praha to reach the semifinals along with Tottenham Hotspur.

The London club certainly have the quality to go all the way in the tournament this season and their fans will not be very happy with the prediction from the Opta Supercomputer. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can prove them wrong and bring the cup home this time.

‘Makes me want to….’: Levy reveals how criticism from Tottenham fans make him feel

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has now responded to the recent criticism following an underwhelming start to the new campaign.

Tottenham were quite busy in the recently concluded transfer window. They added a few exceptionally talented young stars to their team and even broke their transfer record to secure the services of Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth. Despite all the hard work they had put in during the summer, the North London club haven’t had an ideal start to the new season.

They have played an impressive brand of football but the results haven’t gone their way. After back-to-back defeats in the league at the hands of rivals Arsenal and Newcastle United, Spurs returned to winning ways against Brentford in their last outing and Solanke also bagged his first goal for his new club. Although there is still time for them to turn things around, their poor start has led to significant criticism, with Daniel Levy at the centre of it.

The Spurs chairman participated in a Q&A session on Monday night at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and he responded to the criticism he has received from some fans.

The club chief said: “I have a very thick skin and I just ignore it. Makes me want to be more successful.”

The results in the initial phase haven’t been pleasing for Tottenham fans. They feel the club could have done more in the recently concluded transfer window to give Ange Postecoglou more firepower.

But, it might be too early to pass on judgment as it seems the club have met the Australian manager’s major demands. They have reinforced their attack significantly and added a few new young faces to their midfield. They have been playing some quality football and once the results start going their way, things could turn around quickly.

Tottenham Hotspur scouts are keeping a close eye on Southampton sensation Tyler Dibling ahead of a potential transfer.

The North London club have made a significant change to their approach in the transfer window. It is no longer about looking for the best opportunities that the market presents rather Tottenham are focusing on scouting stars with huge potential quite early in their career. They added Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Wilson Odobert to their squad in the summer and now have their eyes set on Tyler Dibling.

The 18-year-old has become the talk of the town thanks to his incredible performances in the initial phase of the new season. According to a report from TBR, Tottenham are keen on his signature and they have asked their scouts to monitor his progress. Representatives of the North London club were in the stands to watch the right-winger in action against Ipswich Town at the weekend.

Dibling put up an impressive performance in the game against Manchester United. While the result didn’t go their way, he caused a lot of problems for Diogo Dalot in the first half and even earned a penalty. He carried that form into the game against Ipswich and was unplayable for the majority of the time. The teenager bagged his first senior goal and his performance would have left a mark on the Spurs scouts.

While Southampton are looking to hold contract renewal talks with their academy graduate as they look to reward him for his progress, Spurs could soon knock on their doors to try and prise him away. Apart from Tottenham, other top clubs in England are also monitoring him. As a result, Daniel Levy’s men won’t find it easy to strike a deal for his services.

‘he is a magician’: La Liga man lavishes praise on ‘great player’ Tottenham have just sold

Real Betis ace Romain Perraud has heaped praise on the former Tottenham Hotspur star and teammate Giovani Lo Celso.

Tottenham forked out a fortune to acquire the services of Lo Celso back in the day. While he was an integral part of their first team in the initial years, the Argentine midfielder failed to live up to the expectations and he fell down the pecking order with time.

While he is only 28 and still has a lot of years left in him, the attacking midfielder was not a part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans moving ahead. Spurs were keen on getting him off their books throughout the summer and he eventually ended up returning to his former club Real Betis. He has had an exceptional start at the Spanish club and his teammate Romain Perraud spoke very highly about the attacking midfielder during an interview with El Correo de Andalucía.

He said: “I know the player, he is a magician. He was at Real Betis before and at PSG and Tottenham. He is a great player who has won the Copa America and in the number 10 position he is very important for us and he will help us a lot this year”

While he might have struggled at Spurs, he was an important part of the Argentina national team throughout and helped them win two Copa America titles. He would have even been part of their World Cup-winning campaign had he been fit.

On his return to Betis, he has been used as a number 10 in all three of his outings and has scored three goals so far. He has already proved his worth and if he carries on in a similar fashion, the Spanish outfit would be glad they struck a deal with Spurs to bring him back.

The French full-back is quite impressed with the 28-year-old’s abilities and feels he could play a very important role for them going forward. Meanwhile, Spurs did secure an option to buy Johnny Cardoso from Betis next summer while they negotiated Lo Celso’s departure which is a positive for the North London club and their fans.
