Agressive negotiations needed from Paractici to land £88m rated Premier League star - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Carlos Baleba, the 21-year-old Cameroonian midfielder currently at Brighton & Hove Albion, has emerged as a hot transfer target amid Tottenham Hotspur’s plans to bolster their midfield.

As of December 4, there’s no confirmed deal or completed transfer to Tottenham (or any other club for that matter), but sources at The Boy Hotspur indicate strong interest from Spurs, positioning them in a potential bidding war with Manchester United.

Tottenham, under manager Thomas Frank, are eyeing midfield reinforcements for 2026, with Baleba seen as a long-term fit alongside or replacing players like Yves Bissouma.

Tottenham Hotspur first expressed interest in late November 2025, sensing an “opportunity” if Man Utd pivoted to alternatives like Joao Gomes or Elliot Anderson.

Manchester United led the chase in summer 2025 but cooled due to the price and Baleba’s form; they’re still in the mix but prioritising cheaper options. Other clubs like Liverpool and Man City have been loosely linked, but no firm bids.

The Seagulls view Baleba as a “€100m asset” and won’t budge on a cut-price deal, even with his recent dip.

Betting guidance is out there

Odds of a Tottenham move are low for January (under 20% per betting markets as of Dec 3), rising to moderate (40-50%) for summer 2026 if Spurs qualify for Europe and negotiate aggressively.

Baleba joined Brighton from Lille in 2023 for around £10m and has since impressed with his technical ability, vision, and defensive nous in midfield. He’s under contract until 2028 (with an option for an extra year) and has 5 caps for Cameroon.

After a standout 2024/25 campaign, Baleba has dipped slightly this term (2 goals, 1 assist in 12 PL appearances), partly linked to summer speculation. Despite this, he’s still valued highly at around €100m (£88m / $114m) by Brighton, who are reluctant to sell in January.

Do Spurs actually need Baleba?

Tottenham are desperate for fresh blood. Fans picking holes in Thomas Frank appear unable to register what Ange Postecoglou did in his two seasons. Finishing 17th is still not impossible!

Report: Tottenham have held “very advanced” talks to land promising Barcelona target - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the highly rated RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham face competition from Liverpool and Barcelona for the player. Tottenham and Liverpool have held “very advanced” talks with the player’s representatives regarding a potential move.

Tottenham eyeing Yan Diomande

Apparently, Thomas Frank is keen on signing Diomande to improve his attacking unit. It will be interesting to see if the North London club follow up on their enquiry with an official proposal to get the deal done.

They need more quality on the flanks, and Diomande could be the ideal acquisition. He will add pace, flair, and unpredictability to the side. The opportunity to move to England will be quite exciting for the young attacker as well. It would be a huge step up in his career, and he would get to test himself at the highest level.

Barcelona also keen on Diomande

Meanwhile, Barcelona will be hoping to sign the player as well. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and any player will be attracted to the idea of joining them. Tottenham must act quickly if they want to win the race for his signature.

The 19-year-old has eight goal contributions this season, and he will only improve with coaching and experience. He could develop into a top-class attacker with the right guidance. If Tottenham can sign him for a reasonable amount of money, the deal could look like a masterstroke in the long run.

The player has a contract with the German club until 2030, and they are under no pressure to sell him right now. They will look to recoup as much as possible for the player. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

12 goals in 15 games: Tottenham “strongly interested” in signing €35-40m-rated South American - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Brentford attacker Igor Thiago in the coming weeks.

The 24-year-old has done quite well for Brentford, and he has 12 goals in 15 appearances across all competitions this season. It is no secret that they need more quality in the attacking unit, and Thiago would be an excellent addition.

Thiago could fancy Spurs move

He is entering the peak years of his career, and he could enjoy joining a big club. Spurs could provide him with the platform to compete in the UEFA Champions League. The player is likely to cost around €35-40 million.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Tottenham are “strongly interested” in securing his signature, and they will face competition from multiple other Premier League clubs. It remains to be seen whether the London club can wrap up the move for Thiago in the coming weeks.

Spurs need Igor Thiago

They have the financial resources to pay the asking price for the player, and Thiago might be able to justify the investment as well. He has shown that he is capable of performing at a high level in the Premier League, and he could prove to be an upgrade on players like Dominic Solanke and Richarlison.

Both players have been underwhelming for the North London outfit, and Tottenham need better options in order to do well. They have been linked with other attacking targets as well. It will be interesting to see who they end up signing eventually.

The Brazilian could make an immediate impact at the London club if he joins them. He has adapted to English football quickly, and he has the technical attributes to play for a top team. He will certainly be attracted to the idea of joining Tottenham. He will hope that the two clubs can work out an agreement quickly.

A frequently chaotic affair where one Spur scored just 3/10 in our Player Ratings - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Spurs went 2-0 down to secure a dramatic 2-2 draw at St. James’ Park, with captain Cristian Romero scoring a brace (header in the 78th minute and an overhead kick in the 95th) to rescue a point. The match was a chaotic affair, with Newcastle dominating possession (53%) but Spurs showing resilience.

Guglielmo Vicario 4 Some solid enough saves to keep Spurs in it; beaten on the penalty but no errors otherwise. However, dear me, his distribution is shocking. A passing accuracy of just 48% is no good. This is not Scottish football.

Destiny Udogie 6 Handled Murphy and Elanga well; goal-line clearance, but provided limited attacking options. Not really at the races.

Kevin Danso 7 Exceptional stuff. A 92 % passing accuracy and a 67% long passing rate. His long throws added threat, but he was quiet overall.

Cuti Romero 8 What a game, Spurs had been lacking bite, and he brought it. Heroic brace (header + overhead kick); booked but dominant.

Rodrigo Bentancur 5 Struggled physically in midfield; conceded the late penalty leading to Newcastle’s second goal. My real issue is he’s just not exciting to watch.

Pape Matar Sarr 6 The only Tottenham player matching physicality early; pressed well and flicked an effort that nearly scored.

Mohammed Kudus 7 cross-assisted Romero’s first goal. Decision-making was erratic at times (e.g., unnecessary kick-ups), but as usual, he was a key creator.

Lucas Bergvall 6 Didn’t quite have it all his own way, plenty of energy, making himself busy and available, stretching Newcastle’s defence and got past Livramento.

Brennan Johnson 3. He appeared to be making lots of effort, but he rarely achieves anything. A passing accuracy of 57% for a player who has so few touches; again, it really isn’t good enough.

Randal Kolo Muani 4 In one word, ‘isolated’ with no shots on target until late. Lacked service but couldn’t hold up play effectively against Burn and Thiaw.

My view on the result

Spurs’ lack of shots on target until the 78th minute (just two total, both goals) highlights ongoing creativity issues, but Romero’s brilliance masked deeper problems. Newcastle will rue missed chances and a late collapse.

Tottenham got away with one last night. A better Newcastle side could have, and arguably should have, humiliated us.

Asking price set for star with “special abilities to be a leader”, Tottenham ready to pay in January - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid.

The Spanish outfit is willing to sell the England international midfielder in January, and they will demand €60 million for him. According to Fichajes, Tottenham have emerged as strong contenders to get the deal done, and they are prepared to pay the asking price.

Spurs need Conor Gallagher

They need more quality and depth in the middle of the park, and Gallagher would be the ideal acquisition. He will add work rate, physicality, and drive to the side. He has proved himself in the Premier League with Chelsea and Crystal Palace in the past. There is no doubt that he could make an immediate impact in the Premier League.

The midfielder is highly rated across Europe, and former Chelsea star Petr Cech has previously labelled him as a player with special abilities to be a leader.

Cech said: “You find that even young players can have special abilities to be a leader. Conor is one of those players – he’s always worked hard, he’s always cared and he always tries his best.”

Tottenham could use characters like him in the dressing room. Apart from his quality as a player, his leadership skills could prove to be invaluable.

Can Spurs get the deal done?

It remains to be seen whether they come forward with an official proposal to get the deal done. €60 million is a substantial amount of money, but the player is at the peak of his career, and he could justify the investment in the coming season. Tottenham need more quality in the middle of the park if they want to compete at the highest level. It will be interesting to see if they can get the deal across the line quickly.

Other clubs have been linked with Gallagher as well, and Tottenham must act swiftly in order to beat the competition for his signature.

Tottenham want to sign 23-year-old Ligue 1 star whose “football brain is outstanding” - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Tyler Morton from Lyon.

The 23-year-old has done well since they moved to France, and he has established himself as an important player for the French outfit. He is being linked with a return to the Premier League now, and Tottenham are among several clubs keen on him, as per TEAMtalk.

Newcastle United, Everton, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest are also keeping tabs on the young midfielder.

Tottenham could use Tyler Morton

It is no secret that they need more technical ability and control in the middle of the park. Morton could prove to be an excellent long-term acquisition. He will help them add more control and composure in the middle of the park.

The opportunity to return to the Premier League will be exciting for him as well. He has previously failed to make the cut at Liverpool despite being rated highly at the club. He will look to establish himself as an important player in the Premier League now.

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has previously labelled him as a player with an outstanding football brain.

“You can see Tyler Morton,” Klopp said of the midfielder. “We have to send him to the gym as if he gets a body, he’s a brilliant footballer. There are some things to come physique wise, but the football brain is outstanding.”

Morton has done well since Lyon move

The 23-year-old has improved a lot since then, and he knows what it takes to compete at a high level now. The opportunity to play for a big club like Tottenham will be quite exciting for him. He will be hoping to compete in Europe with them and fight for trophies.

Lyon paid £15 million for the midfielder, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can negotiate a reasonable deal to sign him.

The 23-year-old could prove to be a solid addition for the North London club. They could groom him into an important player for the team. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.

Roma keen on January move for Mathys Tel

“Strong character” who joined recently could already leave Tottenham in January - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Mathys Tel has been linked with a move away from the London club.

Roma are interested in signing the 20-year-old attacker, as per Il Messagero, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to sanction his departure in January. He has struggled for opportunities at the London club, and he needs to play more often at this stage of his career.

Roma keen on Mathys Tel

Roma might be able to provide him with more opportunities. He needs regular time in order to continue his development. Sitting on the bench at the Premier League club will not benefit him.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has labelled him as a “strong character” in recent weeks, and there is no doubt that he is a quality player with a bright future. However, he needs regular opportunities in order to grow as a player.

Frank said on October: “He’s a young man who has a strong character and trains well every day.”

Tel should join a new club in January

Tottenham will not be able to provide him with that platform right now. Perhaps a move away from the club would be ideal. It will be interesting to see if he joins the Italian club on loan.

He signed for Tottenham on a permanent basis at the start of the season, and it would be quite surprising if they decided to cash in on him in January. Sending him out on loan could be ideal for all parties.

Regular football in Italy could help Tel improve further and fulfil his tremendous potential. He could return to Tottenham as a better player next season and force his way into the starting lineup.

It remains to be seen how the situation develops. Meanwhile, Tottenham should look to invest in a quality centre forward in January, who can find the back of the net regularly.

Tottenham players taking the fight to their own fans

Spurs players are actually now plotting to make a stand against their own fans - The Boy Hotspur
Description

The ‘You could not make it up file’ at Spurs is getting pretty full. After decades of discontent bubbling away in the Tottenham dressing room, it has now been confirmed that the players have decided to mount a defence against the critics. The Telegraph understands that the leadership team at the N17 side are plotting to let fans know how they feel about being booed.

The Spurs players are adopting a new convention where they gather together in the centre circle at the end of the first half and leave the pitch together. It is believed they feel it demonstrates their solidarity, regardless of the atmosphere inside the stadium.

Additionally, the Spurs players do not walk around the pitch at the end of the game applauding the support, as is the custom at some clubs.

This has been greeted sympathetically by THFC, with Matt Law saying; Insiders believe it would be more damaging if such an obvious issue was being ignored.

As per this piece, the Tottenham dressing room appears to be having one of its regular meltdowns.

One possible way to address the discord

Perhaps instead of indulging the player’s every whim, someone might remind them that they are with us for a reason, and they are expected to take the rough with the smooth.

There seems not to have been a single coach in the last few decades who hasn’t spent their time trying to make the lives of these pampered princesses easier.

Vicario’s reaction is absolutely disgraceful, he doesn’t even bother sprinting back…pic.twitter.com/0UGFfWwi7Q

— KESP 🎥 (@KESPedits) November 29, 2025

Vicario, for example, has been courting a reality break for weeks, with an endless stream of representing the players, when he’s been leaking goals like a schoolboy. The error against Fulham was far more than a simple error.

This action by the Italian wasn’t simply unfortunate; it was plain stupid.

Tottenham dressing room troubles again

Thomas Frank said to be losing/confusing the Tottenham dressing room - The Boy Hotspur
Description

The Tottenham dressing room has been a hotspot for unrest and discontent for much of the past decade, often tied to a cycle of managerial turnover, limited squad investment, and mounting expectations without consistent silverware. Under ENIC’s ownership since 2001, the club has prioritised financial sustainability and infrastructure.

Sources close to the Spurs dressing room say there is increasing confusion about the roles players are being tasked with, as plans are thrown out or changed either close to kick-off or alarmingly early during games.

Claims of interest are far from new at Spurs

AVB’s tenure was as brief as it was turbulent. He was undermined by the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid mid-season, without key replacements like João Moutinho. Reports described a “disenchanted” dressing room, with senior players like Michael Dawson questioning the Portuguese’s authority. Villas-Boas was sacked after just 18 months, highlighting early signs of board-manager misalignment spilling into squad morale.

A lack of transfer activity has been a recurring theme

A Daily Mail report detailed jealousy over Levy’s £6m salary and Pochettino’s “up-and-down moods.” The team meeting after a Brighton loss in October 2019 revealed exhaustion “players had “nothing left physically or mentally.”

Poch was sacked days later, with insiders noting he hadn’t “lost the dressing room” but the club’s frugality had eroded it.

It was a lack of signings and talent that was determined to waste itself, like Dele Alli, who featured in José Mourinho’s reign. French players (e.g., Tanguy Ndombele) described “very tense relationships,” and he was accused of “losing the dressing room” weeks before his sacking – the Portuguese was fired just a week before the 2021 Carabao Cup final.

No major signings, like a centre-back for his preferred system, fuelled resentment.

Levy kept hiring the same low block style of managers

Poor old Nuno didn’t fare any better, bless him. The dressing room was described as “toxic” in a 2023 Athletic report, with players feeling directionless amid a post-Poch hangover.

Antonio Conte caused chaos by slating the entire club off, live on TV, after a loss against Southampton. Conte’s arrival promised trophies, but ended in acrimony. He publicly blasted the squad as “mediocre”, alienating players and some fans.

Ange Postecoglou’s woes were largely self-inflicted, with him failing to appreciate how tense the rivalry with Arsenal was, and actually squaring up to fans.

I guess we’re not in Brentford any more, Toto

Thomas Frank’s recent comments about fans booing backfired spectacularly, and despite sympathetic noises from the press, the disconnect narrative fits too well with the bad form.

It seems that there’s something not quite right at Spurs, and I suspect it isn’t the managers.

“Tottenham are in the market…”: Spurs looking for upgrade on first-team ace who has “done okay” - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in a quality striker during the January transfer window.

Richarlison has done reasonably well for them, but he is not a clinical goalscorer. The Brazilian has found the back of the net just six times in all competitions this season. Tottenham need a better player leading the line for them if they want to win major trophies.

It will be interesting to see if they can find a quality striker in January. It could transform them in the attack and get their season back on track.

Can Spurs replace Richarlison?

Pete O’Rourke claims: “So, we know that Tottenham are in the market for a new number nine in January, if they’re able to bring one in, and also they’ve missed Dominic Solanke this season as well through injury. He’s hardly figured at all under Thomas Frank.

“Richarlison has stepped up, he’s done okay in places but I think Tottenham would prefer an out-and-out number nine to be playing as their main striker in the team.”

Richarlison set for exit?

Meanwhile, the Brazilian has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and Brazil in recent months. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

There is no doubt that he is a quality player, but he will not be able to lead the line for Tottenham with great success. It would make sense for him to join a club where he will get to play in his natural role. The Brazilian thrives in the role of a second striker or in the wide areas.

Tottenham need a reliable centre forward, and it will be interesting to see who they end up with.

They will be desperate to finish in the top four of the Premier League, and they need to improve in the attacking unit in order for that to happen.
