“It’s going to be an interesting one to have a look at in the next few days because it does put them into a position, Spurs, of having to go bigger, and we’ve seen in the past they’ve not been prepared to do that.

“But given everything that’s gone through the window and obviously with injury to Maddison as well, they might feel that they’re going to have to stretch the boat out a little bit and pay that little bit more to secure one of those players because, as you said, the previous two, decent fees but haven’t gone their way.”
