Sunday’s defeat at the City Ground to Nottingham Forest has now seen Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank break an unwanted Spurs record.
Thomas Frank was not best pleased with his team’s performance against Nottingham Forest, with the Tottenham boss openly expressing his disappointment at his team’s lack of effort at the City Ground.
There was a clear absence of energy and determination in Spurs’ 3-0 defeat, as Frank’s side struggled to do the basics right, too often misplacing short passes and allowing Forest to dictate the tempo far too easily.
That showing was far from a one-off this season, with Tottenham looking lacklustre in several Premier League matches, a trend that has slowly but surely begun to define their campaign.
Tottenham suffer unwanted points record under Thomas Frank
Tottenham have now suffered six defeats from their opening 16 league outings, and in each of those games they have been outplayed and clearly second best.
According to BBC Sport, Tottenham Hotspur’s current poor run of form has seen them accumulate one of their lowest points tallies after 16 league games.
Spurs‘ 22 points so far this season after 16 matches is the club’s worst at this stage of a Premier League campaign since 2008-09, when they had collected just 18 points after the same number of games.

With 22 points on the board, Tottenham sit 11th in the table, six points off the top four and six clear of 17th place, a precarious position that underlines just how tight the margins are despite it still being relatively early in the campaign.
Spurs form raises familiar concerns as pressure grows on Frank
The onus is firmly on Thomas Frank to turn things around at Tottenham, and the Dane will need to do so quickly if this season is not to drift in a worrying direction.
Last season, Spurs broke all the wrong records, suffering their highest number of defeats in a 38-game league campaign with 22 losses.
They also recorded their worst-ever Premier League finish, ending the campaign in 17th place, and Frank now risks edging towards a similar trajectory if performances do not improve, with the prospect of being dragged into a relegation scrap becoming increasingly real.
