Igor Tudor insists Tottenham Hotspur should be 'angry and disappointed' with Fulham defeat - 'I do not accept the situation'
Igor Tudor does "not accept the situation" at Tottenham Hotspur following a fourth successive defeat in the Premier League. After losing the North London Derby in his first game in charge, Spurs were beaten at Fulham. Next up is a home match against Crystal Palace, live on TNT Sports and discovery+, as they look to win only their third home match of the league season.
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Igor Tudor insists that his team should be "angry and disappointed" with their latest loss.
Spurs were defeated at Fulham on the weekend as their Premier League campaign continued to spiral with a fourth successive loss.
The north London side lost to Manchester United and Newcastle United before Thomas Frank was sacked and Tudor took over until the end of the season.
Tudor's first two matches ended in defeat against Arsenal and Fulham, as Spurs edged closer to the dreaded drop zone.
"I feel better now," Tudor said ahead of Spurs' next game on Thursday, March 5, where they will look to bounce back at home against Crystal Palace, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
"Of course, there were emotions and some disappointment after the game [against Fulham] because we are working hard with the players on what they need to do, but the result didn't come.
"Of course, it was a little bit disappointing, but that's how we should feel [after a game like that].
"We need to be angry and disappointed. I won't be the guy who says everything is perfect, smiles and acts like nothing has happened.
"Also it's about me, personally, sending a message to everyone that I do not accept the situation - but we move on. We had a good but short period to prepare for this next game and I have seen the guys react really well.
"We need to be optimistic about tomorrow's game. We play at home against a good team, but we're in our stadium and in front of our fans."
Spurs are currently four points above 18th-placed West Ham United, and are in serious danger of dropping into the relegation zone.

They have not won in the league for 10 games, with their last victory coming on the road against Thursday's opponents, Crystal Palace.
But their home form is even more concerning, having won just two matches in north London this season. They sit 19th in the division on home results alone, but Tudor says the game against Crystal Palace is not a 'must-win' fixture.
"No, there is no must-win game. We need to be approaching all of the games in the right way and doing the best that we can do.
"I've always said that thinking like that doesn't bring you anything."

Barcelona eye Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven, Liverpool in shock link with former player Jarell Quansah - Paper Round
The future of Micky van de Ven at Tottenham Hotspur is in doubt with Barcelona said to be weighing up a summer move for the defender. Elsewhere in Wednesday's Paper Round, Liverpool are linked with their former player Jarell Quansah, now playing for Bayer Leverkusen, and Championship side Wrexham have been linked with a shock move for Fulham star Harry Wilson, who is out of contract this summer.
Van de Ven to La Liga?
Barcelona are weighing up a summer move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven, reports The Sun.
Despite making the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, Spurs have had a tough season domestically and have been dragged into a relegation battle.
Given their struggles, the Netherlands international is reportedly unhappy at the club and has caught the eyes of Barca, Real Madrid and Liverpool.
"Barcelona are keen on signing Micky van de Ven from Tottenham this summer, according to reports," writes The Sun.
"The Catalan giants want to sign a left-sided defender ahead of next season. Inter star Alessandro Bastoni is said to be top of their list of priorities.
"But with a deal for Bastoni looking difficult, Spanish outlet Sport claim that Barcelona fancy their chances at prising Van de Ven away from Spurs.
"The defender is believed to be unhappy at Tottenham amid their miserable season.
"The Dutchman will have three years remaining on his Spurs contract come the summer.
"But amid his strong desire to leave the crisis club, it’s claimed that Barcelona chiefs somewhat optimistically feel that they could sign him for less than £55million.
"In addition to Barcelona, Van de Ven is also attracting interest from Real Madrid and Liverpool."
Liverpool could make surprise move for Quansah
Liverpool could make a surprise move for former player Jarell Quansah, according to a report in the Daily Express.
Quansah left Liverpool for Bayer Leverkusen in a reported £35 million deal last summer but his performances for the Bundesliga side have attracted attention from many clubs, including The Reds.
However, it may cost Arne Slot's side up to £70m to complete the signing.
The report reads: "Quansah has been a key part of Leverkusen’s revival, so much so that his performances are already attracting attention from some of Europe’s elite clubs.
"Among them is Liverpool, who, according to reports from Sky Germany, are considering bringing back their former academy graduate. It comes just months after they sanctioned a deal to let Quansah join Leverkusen for £35 million.
"It would cost Liverpool significantly more than that to bring him back though, with the reports suggesting the buy-back in his contract is worth a whopping £70m.
"Liverpool are said to only have until the end of May to activate the clause, and failure to do so would allow Leverkusen to hold out for a higher price."
Reds linked with Bastoni
The Liverpool Echo reports that Liverpool are eyeing up a move for Internazionale defender Alessandro Bastoni.
Liverpool have already agreed to sign Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes in a reported £60m deal, but having missed out on Marc Guehi to Manchester City in January, they may require more defensive reinforcements.
The article reads: "Liverpool are reportedly one of several clubs interested in signing Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni.
"According to Caught Offside, the Reds are joined by Arsenal and Barcelona in looking at potentially signing Bastoni, with Liverpool said to be "closely monitoring" the defender’s future.
"Bastoni has been linked with a move away from Inter in the past, but is regarded to be a key player for the current Serie A leaders who would be determined to keep the defender at the club."
Wrexham enter Wilson race
The future of Harry Wilson continues to make headlines, with Championship side Wrexham the latest to be linked with the Fulham star.
Wilson is out of contract in the summer and has been linked with Aston Villa and Everton.
But Wrexham could also be in the mix to capture his signature, reports The Sun.
"Wrexham could join the race to sign Harry Wilson this summer if they earn promotion to the Premier League, according to reports," reads the article.
"The Red Dragons are targeting a fourth successive promotion as they look to complete their journey from non-league to England’s top division.
"Should they achieve the feat, Wrexham chiefs are expected to make some huge new additions to the squad.
"And they could start by signing Wilson – who could be available on a free transfer.
"The high-flying Fulham star is likely to become a free agent this July, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
"Aston Villa are the frontrunners in the race to sign him, but they face competition.
"TalkSPORT has claimed that Wrexham could enter the mix to sign him if they secure Premier League status."

Tuesday’s Paper Round leads on Tottenham Hotspur, with former executive chairman Daniel Levy having installed relegation clauses in all of the players' contracts to ensure a 50% wage cut will take effect should they go down. Spurs are also in the hunt for a new sporting director, while there is also talk of Manchester United taking a £74m hit after agreeing to sell Marcus Rashford to Barcelona.
Tottenham Hotspur players face wage cuts if the club are relegated, The Athletic has revealed, with Daniel Levy ensuring all contracts included clauses before his departure in September.
Spurs are just four points above the relegation zone in 16th, and are yet to win a league game in 2026, having sacked Thomas Frank and brought in Igor Tudor on an interim basis.
The Athletic adds: "The Croatian has overseen defeats in his opening two matches against Arsenal and Fulham, heightening the possibility of Spurs falling into England’s second tier for the first time since 1977.
"Should that happen, there would be major ramifications on and off the pitch, although when it comes to squad remuneration there are provisions in place to limit the cost.
"The Athletic can reveal that most members of the first team squad are on deals which include mandatory salary reductions and the vast majority would see their earning slashed by around 50%.
"It was a provision factored into all existing agreements struck before Daniel Levy’s departure as executive chairman in September, granting Spurs an element of protection against the doomsday scenario of demotion."
Spurs eye sporting directors
Spurs have sounded out several candidates as they look to hire a new sporting director, with Paul Winstanley and Dougie Freedman among those being considered according to the Telegraph.
Winstanley is currently Chelsea, where he is contracted until 2031, while Freedman joined Al-Diriyah in Saudi Arabia’s second tier last year.
The Telegraph adds: "It is believed that Tottenham would ideally like to agree a deal with a new sporting director in time for them to have a say on the identity of the next permanent head coach.
"It remains to be seen whether that is possible, given Tottenham are involved in a Premier League relegation battle, but the club have started the process and hope to start speaking to candidates.
"Spurs want to replace Fabio Paratici, who left the club to join Fiorentina last month. Johan Lange is the remaining sporting director at Spurs, but has faced criticism for the club’s recruitment.
"Freedman is best known for his work at Crystal Palace, where he was credited with signings such as Eberechi Eze, Marc Guehi, Michael Olise and Adam Wharton. He was also heavily involved in the appointment of head coach Oliver Glasner."
Man Utd’s £74m hit on Rashford
Selling Marcus Rashford to Barcelona for less than £30m would warrant a £74m hit according to the Mirror, who claim the forward was once wanted by Paris Saint-Germain for £100m when Thomas Tuchel was in charge of the French club.
Rashford looks set to make his loan move to Barca permanent in the summer, with the £26m transfer set to officially end the England international’s time as a United player.
The Mirror adds: "Tuchel had made the forward his top priority ahead of the new season. United would only entertain a figure that went north of £100m and the PSG boss was working hard to convince the hierarchy that Rashford was worth the money. In his discussions the now England boss claimed that people 'didn't realise how good a player Rashford actually is'.
"Comparisons were drawn with Kylian Mbappe and some in the French capital saw Rashford as the perfect foil - or even long-term replacement - for the World Cup winner amid constant links with a move to Real Madrid - a switch he would eventually make."

Tottenham Hotspur's battle against the Premier League drop continues on Thursday, with Crystal Palace the visitors to north London - live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
With two defeats in his two matches in charge thus far - most recently with a 2-1 reverse away at Fulham - Igor Tudor's arrival as Thomas Frank's successor in the dug-out has not reaped immediate rewards.
Reeling off a run of four successive losses, Spurs are four points above the drop ahead of the visit of Palace, and Tudor will look to get up and running at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - the site at which Spurs have endured many struggles so far this season.
Only basement club Wolverhampton Wanderers have picked up fewer points on home soil than Spurs' 10 this season, with Burnley levelling that tally.

Why Tottenham Hotspur winning the UEFA Champions League would be 'embarrassing' for European football - Fara Williams column

'Embarrassing' if relegation-threatened Spurs win the Champions League
Following their recent London derby defeats to Arsenal and Fulham, it doesn’t look great for Spurs at the moment. They’ve brought in Igor Tudor, who has a fantastic record of saving teams and making the players work hard and show that fight.
Are Tottenham too good to go down? The fact is that they are in a relegation battle. I had the privilege of visiting the training ground the other week, and for a club that big, with those amazing facilities, to be in the Championship next season is just not acceptable.
Looking at their league fixtures until the end of the season, they have a very tough run of games. I’m worried for Spurs, because their main relegation rivals are starting to pick up form, with Nottingham Forest looking a bit rejuvenated under Vitor Pereira, while West Ham are picking up more points than before.
Are these Spurs players ready for the dogfight of a relegation battle? They are not in a false position, because they finished one place above the bottom three last season.
I’m not overly surprised by their league form, because there was not much transfer business in the summer to progress the team, and they have been unfortunate with long-term injuries to the likes of James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.
Spurs have sacked a lot of managers, including Thomas Frank this season, but some of these players need to take accountability for performances, and maybe their attitude towards the different managers who have been in charge at the club.

UCL draw: Spurs to face Atletico & Chelsea handed PSG blockbuster in last 16
Record-equalling Kane hits new Bundesliga milestone as Bayern beat Dortmund
If you look at the quality of players in their squad, there is no way that Spurs should be in this position.
Individually, there are players who are well-equipped to play in the Premier League, but collectively, they don’t seem to come together, and sometimes it looks like they don’t have the right mentality.
They need a big turnaround, and I know they’re in the last 16 of the Champions League, where they face a tough tie against Atletico Madrid, but their focus has to be Premier League survival.
Although they managed to turn it on in the Europa League last season to end their trophy drought, I’m going to say it outright – Spurs are not good enough to win the Champions League.
The Europa League is different to the Champions League, and they won’t be able to avoid all the big teams on their way to the final this time around.
If you were to ask me what the bigger shock would be – Spurs getting relegated or Spurs winning the Champions League, I would say the latter.
There are far superior teams than Spurs in the competition, so if they manage to somehow win the Champions League this season, I would say it is embarrassing for the rest of the teams in Europe.
They have to start showing more consistency until the end of the season, and, once they avoid relegation from the Premier League, they can start to rethink everything in the summer.
'Reflective' Earps deserve credit for recent comments
It was great to read about Mary Earps reflecting about the fallout from her book last year.
After an excerpt from her autobiography was released, I wrote that her legacy didn't deserve to be tarnished despite her claims in the book.
I’ve known Mary, and I’ve played with her during my career, and I know that she’s not a malicious person who would want to directly hurt people in a way that came across in her book.
She is a very reflective person, and she was similar as a player. I know that she was very critical of herself as a player when we played together, where she would highlight more negatives in her play than positives.
'Definitely intended' or fluke? – Identical stunners in FA Cup stir up debate
Women's FA Cup quarter-final draw: Spurs face Chelsea & Arsenal host Brighton
She was an absolute perfectionist during my time with her, and she is someone who has always held herself accountable for things.
It doesn’t surprise that she has probably sat with it, and, on reflection, feels that the right thing to do publicly is come out and reveal that she has spoken with the relevant people mentioned in the book and more or less apologised and held herself accountable.
It’s big of Mary to do this. There are some people who put things out, and that would be the end of the story, and they would not reflect on the situation.
I don’t think what Mary wrote in her book was nasty in any way, but, as players, it is something that we would probably prefer to keep in-house. It’s almost an unwritten rule where you don’t expose people’s characters in a way that could have been perceived in the book, and maybe Mary didn’t want that to be interpreted in a certain way.
Let’s remember that the book was Mary’s truth, and that’s how she felt. Who am I to say that she’s wrong in saying her truth?
People will always advise you to have a story in any book you’re preparing to release, and it doesn’t matter how many other great topics are included, they’re looking for that one talking point, and that’s what happened in Mary’s case.
In the book, she opened up about several different topics, but the world didn’t want to put a big spotlight on that and praise her bravery for expressing herself in such an honest way.
I think the success of the Lionesses also played a big part in the huge exposure of her book. If the Lionesses had been less successful, maybe the comments wouldn’t have been such a big deal, and it didn’t work in her favour.
It takes a big person to do what she’s done by having face-to-face conversations with people you could have potentially upset after the book was released. It’s a brave thing to do and credit to her for that.
For players planning to write books in the future, if it’s your truth, then it’s fine. I always believe that if you write about how you felt during that period, it’s okay, but it’s also acceptable for other people to have an opinion on that.
I know from my experience that I’ve expressed my truth and my views on things, and there will be people who don’t like it, and there will be people who agree with them, and that’s the reality.

Tottenham are in a perilous position in the Premier League table after their 4-1 defeat to bitter rivals Arsenal last weekend. But their interim head coach Igor Tudor insists he has not mentioned the prospect of relegation to his players. Spurs face two crucial London derbies in the next week - away to Fulham on Sunday and at home to Crystal Palace next Thursday, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
Igor Tudor says he has not mentioned the possibility of relegation to Tottenham Hotspur's players.
Spurs are languishing in 16th place in the Premier League table, two points above Nottingham Forest in 17th and four points ahead of West Ham in 18th. Their most recent outing was a nightmare one, a 4-1 home defeat to leaders Arsenal last Sunday.
But the interim head coach, when asked if he has spoken about relegation with his team, said: "No, I never used it, but not because it's something too scary or it's a danger word or we won't sleep.
"It's about that we need to refocus on ourselves. I also see the same way I speak with my players. To be focused on ourselves, on the training. That's the only thing we can change.
"So there is nothing to think about. The future, or the points, even. The points come as a consequence of the training and the game.
"That's the focus. That's the main and only focus we need to have."
Tottenham face two crucial London derbies in the next week, away to Fulham on Sunday and then at home to Crystal Palace next Thursday.
The club continues to suffer on the injury front and Tudor said it is a major factor in their current struggles.
"The problem is the lack of numbers we have in the team," Tudor said. "There's the problem - if you need to play every three days with 10,12, 13. Also it's not only about spending physical energy but also mental energy when every game for us in the league is a final. Not an ideal situation."

Tudor was, however, able to provide a positive injury update before his team's meeting with Fulham at Craven Cottage this weekend.
Kevin Danso and Pedro Porro will be available, while Micky van de Ven is "OK" despite a "small problem" with his finger.
On the derby day to forget last weekend - when the gulf in class between his team and Arsenal was plain to see - Tudor clearly wants to quickly move on.
"The less we speak, the better it is," Tudor added. "It's about focusing on the daily work in training to climb up the table."

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur battle for Bayern Munich's Leon Goretzka, Juventus want Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson - European Transfer News
The latest European transfer rumour round-up sees bitter rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur linked with midfielder Leon Goretzka, who looks set to leave Bayern Munich as a free agent this summer. Juventus are reportedly keen on signing Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, while one of Germany's top agents has revealed that he advised Real Madrid to sign Florian Wirtz before he moved to Anfield.
Goretzka in demand
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur could be set for a summer battle for free agent midfielder Leon Goretzka.
Goretzka is out of contract at the end of the season and, according to Bild’s Christian Falk, will be in demand. Arsenal and Spurs are reportedly keen, along with Inter and Bayer Leverkusen.
According to Falk, it has been "suggested that Goretzka is open to a move to the Premier League, which could give Arsenal an edge over other potential suitors".
It is added that Arsenal attempted to sign Goretzka during the January window.
Juventus interested in Alisson
Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.
Liverpool made Alisson the world's most expensive 'keeper when they signed him for a reported £66.8 million fee in 2018 (now the second-most expensive behind Kepa Arrizabalaga, who Chelsea signed for £71.6m).
Alisson has been a key player for The Reds but is out of contract in 2027. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juve are plotting to take advantage.
Michele Di Gregorio has been No. 1 for Juventus this season but has not impressed, and Juve head coach Luciano Spalletti knows Alisson well, having worked with him at Roma
Another name on the table for Juve is said to be Spurs' Guglielmo Vicario.
Agent's Madrid 'wish' for Wirtz
Florian Wirtz made one of the big moves of the 2025 summer transfer window as he joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in a £116m deal.
But Volker Struth, one of Germany's leading agents who also works as an advisor, has revealed he told Real Madrid to sign Wirtz.
"During the period when a move to Liverpool or Bayern was being discussed, I called Xabi Alonso and told him: 'You have to take the lad from Leverkusen with you to Real'," Struth told Bild.
"Xabi replied: ‘You don’t have to tell me that, you have to tell [Real Madrid president] Florentino Perez’.
"So I actually sent him a message: ‘Dear Florentino, I’ve told you many times before: I have a player here whom I would highly recommend. Florian Wirtz makes every team in the world better’.
"That year, it simply wasn’t the right time due to the squad and the budget. Even Real Madrid‘s coffers aren’t always overflowing. But my wish remains that Florian will play there one day."
Kane 'interest' in Barca move?
Barcelona presidential candidate Xavi Vilajoana's camp believes Harry Kane would be "interested" in a move to the club.
England international Kane has been linked with Barca, who look set to be on the hunt for a new striker with Robert Lewandowski’s contract expiring in the summer.
Kane is yet to agree a new contract with Bayern Munich and Vilajoana's campaign manager Jordi Codina has fuelled talk of a potential move.
He told Mundo Deportivo: "As we explained the other day, we - not personally, but through people acting on our behalf - have had conversations and so on, and we think the player might be interested.
"In fact, I believe countless players would be willing to talk and come to Barca if Barca called them.
"Harry Kane, as we explained the other day, is a player with excellent link-up play. He’s a goalscorer. He’s a player with proven experience.
"I’m absolutely convinced that Harry Kane would fit perfectly into Barca’s style of play.
"From here, several things have to happen. One is that we get there, that we really see how the club is doing and how its finances are, because I unfortunately think it might be in worse shape than we’re being told.
"And then we have to negotiate with his club and with him, which I think is the easiest part."

Allegri considering Milan future
AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri is considering his future at the club, according to Sport Italia.
Allegri returned to Milan last summer, 11 years after his first spell in charge ended.
