Description

Tottenham Hotspur have identified Fiorentina star Moise Kean as a target to improve their attack next season.

The striker joined the Serie A side from Juventus for €13m in July 2024 and has been a regular since then.

He managed 34 goals and seven assists from 77 matches, and nine goals and four assists are from 33 matches this season.

His performances have already caught the Premier League attention. Last month, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy of Fulham pursuing the 26-year-old for the summer and Tottenham have now joined the chase for the frontman.

Kean’s Serie A stats this season are as follows:

Appearances: 26

Starts: 23

Total minutes: 2,047

Minutes per game: 79

Expected Goals: 15.06

Expected Assists: 0.18

Big chances missed: 18

New Tottenham manager chasing Kean

Calciomercato.it now cover Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Moise Kean and their plan to secure his services.

Spurs have endured a difficult season and already parted ways with both Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor this year. They appointed Roberto De Zerbi as the latter’s successor last week.

The new manager’s immediate task is to help the north London club, who are 17th in the table, avoid relegation. At the same time, he has identified the Italy international as a target for the next window.

De Zerbi is interested in bringing the former Everton man back to the Premier League.

The player seems ‘destined to leave’ Fiorentina after this season. AC Milan have also shown interest in the frontman but aren’t willing to meet the €50m fee requested by La Viola.

Tottenham, on the other hand, could ‘come very close’ to meeting Fiorentina’s demand to acquire Kean’s signature. This is likely to please the former Marseille manager.

With Kean potentially thinking about a new destination, De Zerbi can open his side’s door in the summer. This would only be possible if the north London club were to continue in the Premier League.

Contract, value and agent info

Last August, Moise Kean signed an extension until 2029, and it includes a release clause of around €62m.

Transfermarkt now value him at €40m, while a fee around €50m is needed to convince Fiorentina.

World Soccer Agency, owned by Italian agents Alessandro Lucci and Alessandro Lelli, are managing the player. They represent several players including Tottenham Hotspur’s Dejan Kulusevski.

“Until 2030” – Luka Vušković drops big Tottenham hint, no new club in his words - Sport Witness
Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s Luka Vušković insists he will return to the Premier League side after a loan spell at Hamburg SV.

Last summer, the centre-back arrived at the north London club, after Spurs agreed a deal with Hajduk Split in September 2023.

Towards the end of August, Tottenham let him join the Bundesliga on loan and the move has worked out well.

The 19-year-old has been one of the standout players for the German club this season.

Luka Vušković’s Bundesliga stats this season are as follows:

Appearances: 24

Starts: 24

Total minutes: 2,160

Duels won per game: 7.1

Interceptions per game: 1.2

Ball recovered per game: 4.2

Dribbled past per game: 0.2

Clearances per game: 9.1

The Spurs player’s impressive displays have caught the attention of several top clubs like Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Last month, his agent, Pini Zahavi, said no decision will be made on his future until the end of this season.

Luka Vušković changing plans

Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung have published an interview with Tottenham’s Luka Vušković to discuss a few topics, including his plans for next season.

“After this season, I’ll be a Tottenham player again. I have a contract there until 2030,” he said.

This was his response to whether he wants to play with his brother, Mario, at the German club next season. The latter is serving a doping ban until November.

In October, the Croatia international said he wants to play with his brother. Two months later, he insisted it’s a “dream” to play alongside with Mario at Hamburg next season.

At that time, he said: “It’s my dream to play alongside my brother at HSV. I would give everything for that. Tottenham know that too.”

Two months ago, Hamburg sporting director Claus Costa explained “contractually, there’s no chance” to extend his stay. Their manager, Merlin Polzin, said he dreams of retaining Luka even though it “seems impossible”.

This could be one of the reasons why the Tottenham owned player calmed a little over his dream of playing with Mario in recent interviews.

Fast forward April and he insist it’s now his long-term goal to play with Mario, maybe even waiting for an end-of-career spell at Hajduk Split.

“In football, you never know. It could happen next year, or in 10 years. I don’t want to promise anyone anything. But it’s my biggest dream to be on the pitch with him here in Hamburg, or later in Split,” Vušković explained.

Tottenham defender on his playing style

FAZ were curious to know whether Luka Vušković’s style is a ‘form of destruction or art’.

Responding to that, he explained: “It all depends on how the player plays. It can be really tough; it can feel like the defender is trying to destroy a striker, he can inflict some really hard fouls.

“But it can also be completely different, without a foul, even without physical contact. If you defend intelligently, you hardly ever have to go directly into a challenge; you focus more on the space where things can get dangerous.

“I’m somewhere in between because I’m not as aggressive as some others, although I’d like to be a bit more so. I’m working on that.”

The Croatian has a lot of room for improvement and has already taken the necessary steps to work on it.

“I know my weaknesses. I’ve been training with a private coach for some time now to work on my speed,” he said.

“As a footballer, you don’t have to be a 100 metre sprinter, but a good start definitely helps. And I’m constantly trying to improve my timing in certain situations. I often act on instinct, but some things just take practice.

“There used to be situations I wanted to anticipate. But sometimes I started too early, and sometimes too late. It’s slowly getting better. This is especially key against fast and skilful strikers. If I know I can’t catch my opponent, it can sometimes help if I take a step forward so he’s offside.”

Relegation must be avoided

Luka Vušković only wanted to talk about next season in Tottenham Hotspur terms.

Despite recent rumours, including claims of interest from Real Madird, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, there were no nods towards a summer transfer.

Should Spurs secure their stay in the Premier League then they’ll have a great project to put to a player considered one of the best young defender in world football. One bright spark for the London club in a very difficult few months.

Description

Fiorentina are back in the mix to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Radu Drăgușin in the summer transfer window.

The Romania international suffered a serious injury in January 2025 and only returned to the pitch in December.

Tottenham signed him from Genoa for around €25m in January 2024 and he didn’t enjoy regular minutes when fit.

Drăgușin’s agent Florin Manea was open for his client to return to the Serie A in January, when AS Roma, Fiorentina and AC Milan showed interest.

On January 10th, the representative closed the door on La Viola while waiting for Spurs’ response about Roma. The agent said Spurs wanted €25m, however, in the end a move never took shape.

At the time, Manea said: “Fiorentina? With all due respect, that wouldn’t be the right path for him. He costs €25m.”

The defender’s Premier League stats this season are as follows:

Appearances: 8

Starts: 5

Total minutes: 521

Interceptions per game: 1.9

Duels won per game: 2.9

Clearances per game: 5.3

Two months ago, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that AC Milan won’t give up and will make a fresh attempt to sign him in the summer.

Paratici knows Tottenham player

Fiorentina are also not giving up on Radu Drăgușin despite their failure to secure his services in the last window.

Fabio Paratici ended his second spell at Tottenham Hotspur to join the Serie A side in February. The director knows the 24-year-old from his time at Spurs and seems to be leading their pursuit.

TuttoMercatoWeb journalist Niccolò Ceccarini covered La Viola’s interest in the centre-back and Fiorentina News have relayed his comments.

“In January, Drăgușin was a fairly high-profile target, but he wasn’t very happy about leaving Tottenham and wanted to take his chances at a slightly more ambitious club. In the end, between Roma and Milan, nothing new happened, and the boy remained in London,” he said.

“The Drăgușin situation could reopen this summer. Between Paratici and Tottenham’s valuation.

“The story could reopen this summer: Paratici knows Drăgușin very well, and he’s keen to return to Italy. For Fiorentina, with a significant offer, he’s an opportunity. He’s valued at €20m, and this summer, he could forcefully resurface on Fiorentina’s radar.”

Tottenham have decision to make

Transfermarkt value Radu Drăgușin, who has a contract until 2030, at €20m. Roberto De Zerbi has the Romanian, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Kevin Danso and Ben Davies as the centre-backs.

Davies’ contract will expire in June while Romero and Van de Ven are attracting interest from elsewhere. If one or all three were to leave, Spurs could take a firm stance and keep Drăgușin.

Either way, Tottenham have to make a decision on which players to sell and keep in the summer. Whether the agent comments about the €25m asking price still stand remains to be seen.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur star Cristian Romero’s father Víctor Romero has questioned recent transfer claims.

The Argentina international first moved to Europe when Genoa signed him from Club Atlético Belgrano in 2018.

Since then, he had spells in Italy with Juventus and Atalanta, and La Dea sold him to Tottenham in 2020. Spurs initially signed the centre-back on loan and made his stay permanent a year later.

Last summer, Atlético Madrid wanted to sign the defender, but the Premier League side refused to budge and extended his contract.

The north London club have struggled this season and are now 17th in the table, a point about 18th placed West Ham United. Earlier this week, Roberto De Zerbi became their third manager of the season.

Two months ago, Sport Witness covered claims from Argentina that the 27-year-old will leave Spurs in the summer. Since then, there’s been claims of Atlético, Real Madrid and Barcelona interest.

Surprise transfer option for Tottenham star

Argentine journalist Fernando Lavecchia told Radio Splendid, relayed by Infobae, about a surprise claim regarding Cristian Romero.

He reported on Friday that the World Cup winner wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur and return to Club Atlético Belgrano.

The defender is a product of the Argentine club’s academy and spent two years with their first team before moving to Europe.

After Lavecchia reported this, Cadena 3 contacted Víctor Romero to get his take on his son’s possibile return.

“It’s a bombshell that keeps getting bigger. I hope it’s true; as a Belgrano fan and a father, what more could I want, but I don’t know anything,” he said.

However, the Spurs star’s father is surprised with this claim. Víctor explained: “Cuti isn’t one to make statements, that’s why it surprises me.”

At the same time, Romero.Sr isn’t closing the door on a potential transfer to his old club in the future.

“I don’t know anything, but in football anything can happen. Today you might be thinking about being close to your family, and tomorrow they put together a team to win the championship and everything changes. I don’t want to lie,” he added.

Spurs want to recover investment

The English club paid around €50m to Atalanta to buy Cristian Romero in 2021.

His father now admits Tottenham Hotspur would like to recover the fee invested from the sale.

“He has two more years on his contract with Tottenham and a very high release clause. The English club isn’t going to let him go for free; it’s between $50-70m [€43.4-60.6m]. For me, they’ll want to recover what they invested,” Víctor said.

Contract, value and agent info

Last August, the Spurs star signed a new contract until 2029 and Transfermarkt now value him at €50m.

The former Juventus man is represented by agent Ciro Palermo, who mainly takes care of Argentine players.

Tottenham told €60m to secure player for De Zerbi – Transfer games, Spurs can get discount

Tottenham told €60m to secure player for De Zerbi – Transfer games, Spurs can get discount - Sport Witness
Description

Brazilian wing-back Wesley has been one of AS Roma’s best players this season, catching attention from Tottenham and others. Even if the Italian side will put up a wall, Spurs can find a discount over a deal.

The 22-year-old joined the Giallorossi for €25m last summer. That has proved to be a bit of a bargain, with Wesley fitting perfectly into Gian Piero Gasperini’s system.

He has played 34 times in all competitions, contributing to six goals. Apart from playing at right wing-back, he has often been the first choice on the left.

This has made him a candidate to play at the World Cup with Brazil, featuring regularly since his arrival in Rome. At the same time, he is attracting attention from many clubs.

Tottenham are one of those interested in a transfer.

Roma putting up barrier

Sport Witness have previously covered Manchester City’s interest in Wesley and ASRomaLive offer some more information.

The outlet note that Tottenham are keeping an eye on the Brazil international, with Liverpool and Arsenal also in the race.

It is believed Roma have put up a price-tag of €60m on the transfer, which suggests a reluctance to sell him. This is making the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City consider other targets but the same isn’t true for Spurs.

The price tag does seem a bit inflated, as previous reports have spoken of a €50m valuation. This perhaps indicates that Roma might not be in a strong negotiating position and a deal can be done for less than €60m.

Major transfer need can help Tottenham

As things stand, the Giallorossi are outside the top four in Serie A. They have always had troubles with Financial Fair Play, having also previously signed a settlement agreement with UEFA for it.

If they miss out on Europe, they will be desperate for a major sale. That can come in any form but if Tottenham offer around €50m, or maybe even €5m or so less, Roma will be tempted.

This can prove enough for them and their FFP fight. Besides, that amount is usually significant for Serie A clubs due to the obvious financial mismatch between England and Italy.

So if Roberto De Zerbi’s side are serious about Wesley, he will fit right into the Italian’s high intensity system.

Description

Inter Milan are only thinking about Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario for the summer.

The Italy international spent his entire career in his home country before Tottenham signed him from Empoli in June 2023.

He has been the first choice for the Premier League side since then, keeping 29 clean sheets and conceding 170 goals from 117 matches.

It includes 13 clean sheets and 65 goals conceded from 43 matches for the north London club this season.

The stopper’s Premier League stats this season are as follows:

Shots faced on target: 131

Saves: 83

Save percentage: 63.4%

Goals conceded: 50

Penalties saved: 0/2

He hasn’t enjoyed a great run with Spurs, who have also struggled this season. That hasn’t put off the Nerazzurri from wanting to bring him back to Serie A in the summer.

Last month, Sport Witness relayed news of Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio’s trip to London and also holding talks with his agent.

Keen to sign Tottenham player

Inter Milan have 37-year-old Yann Sommer as their No.1 and his contract expires in June. Therefore, they are looking for a new goalkeeper and have been linked to Liverpool star Alisson Becker, Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martínez and a few others.

However, the Serie A side aren’t looking elsewhere and are fully focusing only Guglielmo Vicario and have only made contact with the Tottenham Hotspur player.

That’s according to L’Interista, who cover the latest on the San Siro side’s ongoing efforts to sign him.

Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy the 29-year-old has agreed a four-year deal worth €3.5m per year. The outlet points this out and indicates this is likely a verbal agreement.

Having received outline agreement for the transfer, Inter Milan are now ‘already preparing to present an official offer’ to the player.

The stopper is keen on returning to Italy and Cristian Chivu’s side must agree terms with Spurs. There’s expectation an agreement could be struck with Roberto De Zerbi’s side for €20m or less, in the event of relegation.

The Premier League side are now 17th in the table, a point above 18th placed West Ham United.

Our take: Vicario likely to leave Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur’s immediate focus is to avoid relegation and then focus on their transfer business.

Even if Spurs were to continue in the top flight, Guglielmo Vicario is most likely to leave in the summer. However, staying up should allow the English club to demand a slightly higher fee.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to map out attacking options for their transfer summer, and Marcos Leonardo is a name gaining relevance as the club assess younger profiles with proven output across different leagues.

Roberto De Zerbi will have a big say on Tottenham transfers, with the club and manager working together

Spurs have leaned into this strategy in recent windows. They want forwards who can develop, adapt tactically, and still offer immediate contribution. Of course it has not always worked as planned, considering that players like Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert still have limited output, but the strategy is clear.

Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo still fits that model, especially when looking at his progression across Brazil, Portugal and Saudi Arabia.

The 22-year-old striker first built his reputation at Santos. There, he scored 54 goals and provided 11 assists in 168 appearances. That output, achieved at a young age, made him one of the most productive forwards in Brazil.

A move to Benfica followed. His time in Portugal was shorter, but still productive, with eight goals and one assist in 24 matches. While he did not fully settle, the numbers showed he could translate his game to Europe.

Now at Al-Hilal, Marcos Leonardo has continued to deliver. He has scored 44 goals and registered five assists in 72 appearances. This season only, he bagged 15 goals in 29 matches. That consistency has rebuilt his standing in the market and brought him back into focus for European clubs.

That is where Tottenham come in, as told by Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte.

Tottenham transfer situation opens

Interest in Marcos Leonardo is no longer limited to Brazil. Previous approaches from Flamengo and São Paulo did not advance. Financial demands played a role. Now, however, several European clubs are tracking the situation.

Tottenham are among those who have monitored him for months. His steady output at Al-Hilal has strengthened that interest.

From Spurs’ perspective, the most important factor is availability. The story indicate Al-Hilal are open to selling Marcos Leonardo in the next window. He is not considered a central part of their long-term project, despite his output.

The Saudi club are looking to recover their investment and potentially generate profit. The valuation is said to be around £55m (€65m), which places him within reach for Premier League sides.

What this means for Tottenham

Marcos Leonardo represents a familiar market opportunity for Spurs. He is young, productive across multiple leagues, and potentially available at a defined price. In addition, his profile suits a squad that still needs depth and variation in the final third.

The situation is expected to develop closer to the summer window. If Tottenham decide to move beyond monitoring, this could quickly turn into a concrete pursuit.

“I’d bet on myself” – Tottenham star says he’s 100% back soon - Sport Witness
Description

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dejan Kulusevski has insisted he’s 100% sure he’ll be back soon after an extended injury break.

The 25-year-old was interviewed by Viaplay after Sweden qualified for the World Cup this week. Goteborgs Posten report his comments today.

Long-term injury for Tottenham player

The Tottenham star is currently recovering from a long-term right-patella (kneecap) injury and is unlikely to feature for Spurs again this season. He’s been sidelined for well over a year after undergoing surgery last year.

He recently underwent another minor surgical procedure in March to ‘clean up’ the knee’. That led to concerns as he was seen with a visible lip during a recent trip to Sweden’s training camp.

Kulusevski later cleared up any concerns about that on Instagram, insisting that it was a result of the procedure rather than a new setback.

He’s instead remaining optimistic that he can make the World Cup in the summer, insisting he’d bet on himself.

“There are two or three months left, and I haven’t played in a year. I know what the chances are. But if there is a person on this planet who can do it, I would bet on myself,” he said.

There’s been genuine worry that he won’t be available for the tournament this summer. Sweden had a torrid time in qualifying but managed to get through via the play-offs this week.

Tottenham’s Kulusevski is sure he’ll be able to join his compatriots: “100 percent I will be healthy for the World Cup.”

Sweden not Tottenham

The focus at this point, appears to be on getting himself fit for Sweden and not Tottenham. That, it seems, is the more realistic target for now.

Igor Tudor and his team were certainly playing it cautious with the midfielder and Roberto de Zerbi will surely do the same. After over a year out, there is no other option for Spurs at this point.

They will be concerned about Dejan Kulusevski overdoing it just to reach the World Cup this summer, where he would surely only play a back up role for Graham Potter’s side anyway.

The midfielder, though, is backing himself. And after such a long lay-off, perhaps a positive approach is the best one for everyone anyway.

Fingers crossed, De Zerni will then be able to count on him for the start of next season.

Lesson for Tottenham players – Defender on his surprise at De Zerbi tactics… couldn’t adapt - Sport Witness
Description

Tottenham Hotspur players are about to face a very specific challenge under Roberto De Zerbi, and a former Marseille defender has just offered a warning of sorts.

Spurs have handed the Italian a long-term deal with significant off-pitch influence. As a result, the club is clearly committing to his ideas. However, adapting to those ideas is not always straightforward, even for experienced players.

That point is underlined by comments from Lilian Brassier, who worked under De Zerbi at Olympique de Marseille earlier in his career.

Surprise at De Zerbi demands

Speaking to RMC, Brassier admitted he struggled badly to meet De Zerbi’s tactical expectations during his spell in Marseille.

He explained: “Marseille was complicated for me, everyone saw that. I believed in the project and hoped things would go well. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen as expected.”

The 26-year-old insisted pressure was not the main issue. Instead, he pointed to how quickly things can spiral when performances dip in that environment.

More importantly, he made it clear the tactical side caught him off guard.

“There are many reasons. I adapted badly to what the coach wanted from me, and I wasn’t used to playing that way. I was really surprised, I was still adapting. And I tried to do my best. I learned, that’s how it is.”

Those comments align with what is already widely understood about De Zerbi’s methods. His teams demand precision in build-up, bravery in possession, and strict positional discipline.

Players are often asked to take risks in areas of the pitch where mistakes can be costly.

What this means for Tottenham squad

Roberto De Zerbi arrives at Tottenham Hotspur with a clear identity. The club has effectively committed to that approach. Now the responsibility shifts to the players.

At Marseille, Brassier ultimately failed to fit into that system and moved on. At Tottenham, the stakes are higher. The squad is already under pressure due to results, and there will be little time for a slow transition.

That makes mentality just as important as tactical understanding.

Tottenham players will need to be open to change. De Zerbi’s approach does not bend easily, and history suggests he expects players to adapt to him rather than the other way around.

What happens next

Roberto De Zerbi’s immediate focus remains survival. Tottenham are still in a precarious league position, and results will define the short term.

However, the longer-term picture is already clear. If Spurs are serious about building around De Zerbi, the squad will have to evolve with him. Brassier’s experience serves as an early example of what can happen when that adaptation does not come quickly enough.

For Tottenham, the lesson is simple – understanding De Zerbi’s football is not optional.

Uruguay have an injury concern over Tottenham Hotspur’s Rodrigo Bentancur making it to Marcelo Bielsa’s squad for the World Cup.

The midfielder last made an appearance for Tottenham in their 3-2 league defeat to AFC Bournemouth on January 7th. He suffered a hamstring injury in the same tie, forcing him to go under the knife.

Bentancur has been on the sidelines since then, meaning he didn’t play under Igor Tudor, who replaced Thomas Frank in February.

Spurs endured a difficult spell under Tudor [one point in the league] and appointed Roberto De Zerbi as his successor earlier this week.

On March 13th, Sport Witness relayed news the Uruguay international was 15 days ahead in his rehabilitation. The same source indicated he could return to the pitch with Tottenham at the end of April.

Fresh injury concern for Tottenham and Uruguay

ESPN Deportes have a report on the players that Marcelo Bielsa could select for the World Cup.

A few have their place assured due to their status under the manager while some have to still fight.

Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde, Manchester United’s Manuel Ugarte, and Flamengo’s Giorgian De Arrascaeta are all untouchable in midfield. Flamengo’s Nicolás De La Cruz and Rodrigo Bentancur also have the same status.

However, the 28-year-old has been out of action due to an injury and is ‘doubtful for the World Cup’.

This indicates he wouldn’t be ready before the tournament kicks off in June, meaning he may not feature again for Tottenham Hotspur this season.

After the draw against Algeria on Tuesday, Bielsa spoke to reporters and Montevideo have relayed his comments. The manager insists his plans could change depending on the situation.

“Plans are one thing, and reality is another; sometimes they clash,” he said.

“Maximiliano Araújo hadn’t made his debut in three years, and those mentioned, like Ronald Araujo, Rodrigo Bentancur, Nicolás De la Cruz, and Darwin Núñez, are players who have faced different situations

“Bentancur suffered a long-term injury and is currently recovering. Darwin hasn’t played competitively for some time, and De la Cruz is a player who was crucial during Uruguay’s best period and is now trying to find his form and become a starter for Flamengo, which is what we want. Plans always have nuances that arise from reality.”

What next for Bentancur

Roberto De Zerbi’s immediate task is to help Tottenham Hotspur avoid relegation. He is unlikely to be able to rely upon Rodrigo Bentancur and the chances of utilising him this season now seems low.

The South American has played 2,072 minutes from 28 matches for the Premier League side this season. De Zerbi may well see a role for him next season, if that’s not one of the areas he wants to bring his own choice in.
