Tottenham Hotspur have a genuine interest in signing RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Xavi Simons, but they are yet to enter talks, journalist Ben Jacobs has confirmed.

Spurs are set to enter a new era after Thomas Frank was confirmed as their new manager, replacing Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked despite Tottenham winning the Europa League. Speaking on Last Word on Spurs, Jacobs has confirmed that Tottenham do have a genuine interest in signing Simons this summer. The respected journalist adds that no talks have started between any of the parties, but a move to the Premier League could be 'one to watch'...

"So Simons and Premier League clubs could genuinely be one to watch. And I can confirm that Spurs like the player, but they've not started talks. They've not decided they're going to bid yet. And again, keep an eye on the price. We're going to hear a lot of Xavi Simons stories."

The addition of Simons would be a statement signing from Levy and Tottenham, proving they are willing to provide new manager Frank with the tools he needs to do the job. Qualifying for the Champions League was imperative to being able to attract players such as Simons, but it remains to be seen whether he would be keen on a move to north London during the summer transfer window.

Tottenham are poised to turn their attention towards signing Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo in the event that their pursuit for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo falls through, as per Ben Jacobs.

Despite finishing 17th in the Premier League last season, Spurs have funds at hand to bolster their squad thanks to their Europa League final victory over Manchester United that has guaranteed Champions League football next term.

"[There is] big interest in Semenyo. I’d go so far as to say, if Mbuemo doesn’t come off [for Spurs], Semenyo is the number one choice."

Mbeumo has already given the green light to a move to Manchester United, but the Lilywhites reportedly placed a £70 million bid to land the Cameroonian last week in an attempt to hijack their pursuit. It is thought that the player still prefers Old Trafford as his next destination, though is nonetheless "enticed" by a switch to North London to reunite with Frank.

Tottenham could choose to pursue Semenyo instead, if they are unable to agree a deal with Brentford. The 25-year-old, hailed as an "absolute star", enjoyed a stellar campaign with the Cherries. He registered 13 goals and served up a further six assists in 42 outings across all competitions to rank as one of the best players at the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has no interest in losing Semenyo this summer, and it is believed that the south coast side are holding out for a fee in the region of £65 million, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

Manor Solomon will reportedly be spending pre-season with Tottenham Hotspur following Thomas Frank's appointment as Ange Postecoglou's replacement.

French journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Frank is going to check Solomon out during the off-season as he gets to grips with the Lilywhites' squad. The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Leeds United, helping Daniel Farke's side earn promotion as EFL Championship title winners.

Solomon joined Spurs as a free agent in the summer of 2023 due to a FIFA ruling that foreign clubs could suspend their contracts with Ukrainian clubs. He terminated his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk and joined the North Londoners, but struggled for game time, leading to a loan to Elland Road.

Tavolieri gave an update on the previously hailed "unplayable" winger's future with a post on X:

"Manor Solomon’s going to start pre-season with Tottenham. Thomas Frank likes what he sees and wants to check him out in training. Currently, the plan is that Manor will stay and play for Tottenham this season."

Solomon has three years left on his contract with Spurs and could become a first-team regular under Frank. He may need to rely on the Israeli attacker amid reports that Son Heung-min is "open to leaving" the North London giants this summer.

Frank's decision comes alongside speculation that he's set to make several intriguing decisions at the start of his reign. Richarlison is reportedly being eyed for his team's number nine starting berth ahead of Dominic Solanke.

Tottenham are also backing the Dane by throwing themselves into the race for his former Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo. Reports claim they have made a £70m offer for the Cameroonian who had initially chosen Manchester United as his preferred destination.

Kluivert’s form has attracted the interest of many clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, who will begin the season without Dejan Kulusevski due to injury. Tottenham Hotspur have held internal talks over a move to sign Brentford star Yoane Wissa for Thomas Frank, according to The Guardian.

The north London side appointed the former Brentford boss this week to replace Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked after leading the side to a 17th-place finish in the Premier League despite winning the Europa League to qualify for the Champions League.

Now all attention at the club has moved towards the transfer window and building a squad for the new manager, and he is eyeing a reunion with another Brentford star as a result.

Since the arrival fo Frank was confirmed, Spurs have been linked with a host of Brentford players as he looks to shape the squad in his own image.

Now reports suggest that there have been internal talks within the walls at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium about a move to sign DR Congo striker Wissa, who has been described as 'unbelievable' after his most recent campaign with the Bees.

Wissa scored 20 goals in all competitions during the 2024/25 season, including 19 in the Premier League, as he became the club's all-time top scorer in the top-flight with 45 goals.

That form saw him become the subject of a bid from Nottingham Forest during the January transfer window, but Brentford refused to sell. They are more open to a sale this summer, however, they want his value to be met. Currently they value the 28-year-old at £40m as they have the option to extend his contract by a further 12 months until 2027.

Tottenham are also keen on signing Bryan Mbeumo, with a £70m tabled on Friday, while Frank has also been linked with moves to take Nathan Collins and Mikkel Damsgaard with him from west London.

While it's highly unlikely they sign all of those players, Frank is likely to use his relationship with the players to get at least one in, but it remains to be seen if Daniel Levy can agree any deals to get them through the door.

It's a brutal way to welcome them back from their summer breaks and kicks off pre-season with a bang. With the Champions League on the horizon for Tottenham next season, they'll want to make sure they prepare properly for the upcoming campaign and are in the best possible shape when things get underway in August. Frank worked with a similar attacking workhorse in Bryan Mbeumo at Brentford and reports suggest the Manchester United target is now on the club's radar. This could rule out any move for a new number nine and see the 51-year-old put his faith in Richarlison and Solanke to battle it out for the starting berth.

Richarlison, who sits on £130,000 per week, is reportedly seeking to be the starting number nine amid growing speculation over his future. He has two years left on his contract but was linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League earlier this year.

Bailey added:

"I thought Richarlison would be going. We know everything like him and a possible loan deal etc. And we know he’s already rejected Saudi. He doesn’t want to go to Saudi at this point in his career. But I think it’s one to keep an eye on.”
