Should Tottenham fans be worried about Xavi Simons’ injury record? - Spurs Web
Description

New Tottenham signing Xavi Simons missed a significant chunk of last season due to injury, but Spurs fans should not be too worried about the Dutchman’s fitness record.

Out of the six signings that Tottenham made in the summer transfer window, Simons is arguably the most exciting.

The 22-year-old arrives at N17 on the back of two exceptional seasons at RB Leipzig, with the Lilywhites paying £51m to secure the services of the Netherlands international.

His arrival comes as a much-needed boost for Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently without the services of Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison due to injury.

Xavi Simons’ fitness record analysed after Tottenham transfer

With Maddison expected to be out for the season and with several sources suggesting that Kulusevski will not return until the end of the year, Thomas Frank is going to need Simons to stay fit to offer Tottenham a creative spark in midfield.

According to Transfermarkt, the new Spurs signing missed 15 matches for Leipzig last season due to an ankle injury.

While that may be concerning at first glance, Tottenham fans will be pleased to know that last season’s ankle injury is the only major one that Simons has had in his senior career so far.

Frank can thus be hopeful that the newcomer will not spend too long on the treatment table, unlike some of his Tottenham teammates.

Thomas Frank was the main reason for Simons’ move to Spurs

Following Tottenham’s defeat to Bournemouth, Frank admitted that he is excited by the arrival of Simons, backing the 22-year-old to add a creative spark to the Spurs midfield.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that Frank was the one who sold the Tottenham project to Simons, with the attacking midfielder allegedly seeing the switch to N17 as a ‘no-brainer’ following his talks with the Dane.

Supercomputer predicts where Tottenham will finish in Premier League table after Bournemouth defeat - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-0 loss at home to Bournemouth was enough for Opta’s supercomputer to revise its predicted Premier League table, with the Lilywhites dropping two places after the result.

Before the start of the season, Opta’s Supercomputer predicted that Spurs would finish in 14th place, collecting an estimated 47.92 points.

That is not surprising, given how poor Tottenham Hotspur were in the Premier League last term, suffering 22 losses and finishing just one place above the drop zone.

Spurs started the season impressively with wins and clean sheets against Burnley and Man City, but they were poor against the Cherries last Saturday, with Andoni Iraola’s men exposing the North London side’s weaknesses.

Tottenham drop in Opta’s predicted Premier League table

Following the wins over the Clartes and City, Opta’s supercomputer predicted that Tottenham would finish 8th with 55.48 points.

However, their algorithm saw enough evidence in Spurs’ loss against the Cherries to revise their prediction, with Thomas Frank’s men dropping two places.

Opta now predicts that Tottenham will finish in 10th place, amassing 55.2 points over the course of the 2025-26 season.

Ange Postecoglou could be back in work soon as former Tottenham boss is linked with big job - Spurs Web
Description

Former Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou is now attracting interest from two major European clubs who are both in the hunt for a new manager.

Tottenham Hotspur ended a long wait for silverware last season after they won the Europa League, beating Manchester United 1-0 in Bilbao, Spain.

It was ultimately a campaign to remember for the Lilywhites, who finally got their hands on silverware after a 17-year wait.

However, it was not all rosy for Tottenham, as their continental success was not replicated domestically, with Ange Postecoglou’s men falling to a 17th-place finish in the Premier League, the worst in Tottenham’s history.

Ange Postecoglou linked with Bayer Leverkusen and Fenerbahce

According to Fabrizio Romano, Postecoglou is now being considered by both Turkish side Fenerbahce and German side Bayer Leverkusen.

Fenerbahce only just parted ways with former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho after he failed to secure Champions League qualification, while Bayer Leverkusen have already dismissed Erik ten Hag, despite only appointing him in the summer.

The Tottenham hierarchy decided after Postecoglou’s poor domestic campaign that it was best for both sides to part ways, with Daniel Levy axing the Australian on his second anniversary as manager.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Ever since his Spurs departure, Ange Postecoglou has remained without a job for just over two months, but the latest reports suggest he is being lined up for a swift return to the dugout, with interest from two clubs on the continent.

Romano revealed in his post on X: “Ange Postecoglou, emerging as option for both Bayer Leverkusen and Fenerbahce looking for new head coach. Former Spurs manager discussed as name at both clubs ahead of decision.”

What next for Postecoglou

This is not the first time Ange Postecoglou has been linked with new roles since leaving Tottenham, with several clubs monitoring his availability.

In fact, only weeks after he departed from N17, reports began to circulate that Premier League sides were already weighing up whether to bring the Australian back to England.

It remains to be seen what Postecoglou’s next move will be, but one thing is certain: wherever he ends up, history suggests that a trophy in his second season is more or less a guarantee.

Randal Kolo Muani’s insane injury record will be music to Tottenham’s ears - Spurs Web
Description

After Tottenham Hotspur secured the services of Randal Kolo Muani, we take a closer look at his injury record to find out if Spurs fans should be concerned.

Thomas Frank has said that he expects Dominic Solanke to be back after the international break, but according to some sources, Solanke may spend a significant time on the sidelines.

Some feel that it was the England international’s injury that prompted Tottenham to sign Randal Kolo Muani on transfer deadline day on a season-long loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain.

Richarlison’s injury record since his move to Spurs also does not make for encouraging reading, which is why Thomas Frank will be hoping that the new Tottenham signing can stay fit through the season.

Tottenham fans do not need to worry about Randal Kolo Muani’s fitness

Spurs fans can sleep well knowing that, unlike the other Spurs strikers, Kolo Muani has a very good fitness record.

According to Transfermarkt, the centre-forward has been unavailable due to fitness issues in just two matches since he began his senior career.

The last of those came in the 2023-24 season, and on that occasion, it was illness, not injury, that put him out of action. It thus appears that Frank can count on the new Tottenham striker to be fit for the entirety of the campaign.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Who will start when Richarlison, Dominic Solanke and Kolo Muani are fit?

Many may expect Kolo Muani to get the nod to start upfront ahead of the other two strikers, but we already know that Frank is a big fan of Solanke.

Meanwhile, Richarlison has started the season very impressively, and despite his struggles against Bournemouth, it would be difficult for the Spurs head coach to drop the Brazilian.

Frank could also use Kolo Muani on the left, with the 26-year-old being no stranger to playing on the wing.

Tottenham will enter the Carabao Cup in the third round with a clash against Doncaster Rovers at home, and the date and time of the fixture have now been announced.

The fixture list will soon get very busy for Spurs, who are about to kickstart their Champions League campaign against Villarreal in two weeks.

Thomas Frank has set Tottenham the aim of competing on all four fronts this season, and soon, the Lilywhites will enter a competition which arguably represents their best chance of winning a trophy this season.

The Carabao Cup, which Spurs last won in 2008, enters the third round later this month, with the North Londoners and the other Premier League clubs competing in Europe set to enter.

Details of Tottenham’s Carabao Cup clash against Doncaster Rovers

Tottenham have been drawn against Doncaster Rovers in the third round of the Carabao Cup, and the Premier League side will go in as massive favourites against the League One outfit.

Thomas Frank will be pleased to begin the competition at home and will hope that his side can make quick work of the Rovers and seal passage to the round of 16.

The date and the time of the fixture have now been announced, with the match set to be played on Wednesday, 24th September, with kick-off at 7.45 pm.

How Tottenham’s net summer spend compares to their Premier League rivals - Spurs Web
Description

In the Premier League net spend table for the summer of 2025, Tottenham Hotspur are only around mid-table despite having a busy summer.

The summer began for Spurs with the acquisition of Mathys Tel, Kota Takai and Mohammed Kudus, while Joao Palhinha was added to the squad just before the start of the season.

Subsequently, Xavi Simons arrived from RB Leipzig in the final week of the transfer window, while Randal Kolo Muani was signed on loan from Paris Saint-Germain on transfer deadline day.

While the Lilywhites have managed to fill most of the holes in their squad, they have been outspent by a lot of their Premier League rivals.

Tottenham have a middling net spend

The Sun calculate that Spurs spent a total of £121.5m on those signings while they raised £36.5m from player sales.

That puts the North London club’s net spend this summer at £85m, which is only the ninth highest across the Premier League.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Sunderland, Everton, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Manchester City have all spent more than Tottenham have this summer, according to the outlet.

Tottenham player named Premier League signing of the summer out of 155 candidates - Spurs Web
Description

The Athletic have ranked every Premier League signing and a Tottenham Hotspur player has topped the list.

The summer transfer window was as hectic as ever. Deals fell through at the latter stages, players threw their toys out of the pram to demand a move and many clubs were more than eager to splash their cash.

Alexander Isak’s move from Newcastle to Liverpool was one of the biggest talking points near the end of the window, as the British transfer record was broken.

Much has also been said about Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze joining Arsenal, Jack Grealish rediscovering his attacking flair at Everton and Manchester City’s attacking additions.

However, Tottenham Hotspur have also made some impressive signings. Two of the most notable are Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus, costing the club more than £100m combined.

Joao Palhinha to Tottenham ranked as the best Premier League signing of the summer

The Athletic have ranked all 155 Premier League transfers and Spurs have been recognised for some excellent signings. Simons is ranked 13th on the list, while Randal Kolo Muani sits in 20th after joining in a deadline day loan deal.

It gets better, as Joao Palhinha joining from Bayern has been dubbed as the Premier League signing of the summer. The midfielder is only on loan at Tottenham, but there is an offer to make the move permanent, which would cost little more than £20m.

Journalist Tim Spiers wrote: “For two years with Fulham, Palhinha was arguably the Premier League’s best ball-winning anchorman, and possibly one of Europe’s best, too. For Spurs to bring him back to England for peanuts adds a layer of steel to their midfield that has been missing for some time.

“Palhinha will not only shore up their defence, but will also help allow their creative talents to shine.”

How has Joao Palhinha performed for Spurs so far?

Palhinha began his Tottenham career with an immediate clash against his parent club and it did not go well. Spurs were defeated 4-0 in the Telekom Cup, but it was just a glorified pre-season friendly.

He was solid in his first competitive start against PSG and when he was substituted, Tottenham still had a 2-0 lead.

The Portugal international only played 10 minutes of the 3-0 victory over Burnley, but he was a key reason Spurs defeated Manchester City a week later, even getting on the scoresheet. Palhinha’s next performance against Bournemouth was less impressive, but in fairness, the whole team was off the mark.

Tottenham were in need of a solid defensive midfielder and they have got that in Palhinha. He may not be the perfect all-round player in the centre of the park, but he is the best at what he does.

Spurs have conceded one goal in three Premier League matches, and with Palhinha around, this type of record could well be kept up throughout the season.

Roy Keane has delivered a blunt verdict on one of Tottenham’s big summer signings, admitting that he is far from convinced despite Spurs making a strong start to the season.

Tottenham Hotspur went into the summer knowing that they needed to respond to their struggles from last season, where they finished a disappointing 17th in the Premier League, and the board have now backed new manager Thomas Frank in the transfer market.

It proved to be an eventful window, with Tottenham completing six new signings, among them Xavi Simons, Mohammed Kudus, Randal Kolo Muani and Joao Palhinha, as the club attempted to strengthen across the pitch.

There is now hope amongst the fanbase that these arrivals can provide the necessary spark to guide Spurs back into contention, with Frank aiming to build a side capable of competing both domestically and in Europe.

Roy Keane questions Tottenham signing Mohammed Kudus

With the transfer window now shut in England, Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher took to Sky Sports to rate some of the newest signings from Premier League clubs.

Speaking about Tottenham’s Kudus, the former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane gave his assessment of the Ghana international, and his verdict was far from glowing.

Keane explained that he was yet to be sold on Kudus, remarking: “Not convinced, I have to say. Not convinced. But it would be nice if he surprised me.”

There have already been glimpses of what Kudus can bring to Tottenham, most notably on the opening day when he grabbed two assists in the 3-0 win over Burnley, helping Frank’s side convincingly start the campaign.

Since then, however, the Ghanaian has yet to make a decisive impact in the final third, with no goals or assists in his last two outings, even though he has contributed in other areas through his work rate, strength on the ball and ability to carry play forward.

Juventus were left stunned by Tottenham’s half-price deadline day magic as the Lilywhites secured one of the surprises of the transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur’s deadline day activities saw them secure the signing of Kolo Muani, while also sanctioning the departure of a few of their own stars.

Muani joined Tottenham on a season-long loan without an option or obligation to make his switch permanent, becoming Spurs’ sixth signing of the summer window.

The Frenchman is set to provide further reinforcement up front for Thomas Frank, who also has Richarlison and Dominic Solanke as options in the number nine position.

Juventus left stunned after Tottenham secure Randal Kolo Muani

GIVEMESPORT have now revealed that Tottenham’s signing of Kolo Muani has left Juventus stunned as they were also in the running for the 26-year-old.

It is believed that the Old Lady was eager to land the French forward this summer as well, after his productive spell in Italy in the second half of the season, where he scored eight times in 16 Serie A appearances.

Juventus offered double Tottenham’s £4.4 million loan fee for Muani earlier in the summer, but PSG instead sanctioned a late move to the Europa League champions.

Spurs were in the race to sign Muani back in the winter window, but the forward opted to join Juventus instead.

With this being a World Cup season, it is understood that Muani is eager to leave a mark in England, as he looks to push for a spot in the French national team.

Tottenham are also believed to be open to making Muani’s move permanent if he does impress during his loan spell this season.

Tottenham Supporters’ Trust reveals disappointment at the club’s latest decision - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham’s Champions League ticket prices have sparked debate amongst supporters, and now the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust has revealed exactly what they told the club during discussions.

Tottenham Hotspur have revealed their ticket prices for the UEFA Champions League this season as the north London club marks their return after two seasons away.

For their four home games, which start with Manor Solomon and Villarreal visiting the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the club has priced that as a category B fixture.

The rest of the fixtures have been set out as follows: CF Copenhagen on Tuesday, 4 November – Category C, SK Slavia Praha on Tuesday, 9 December – Category C, and Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, 20 January – Category A.

Spurs fans have since reacted to the latest pricing, with many supporters left divided by the club’s decision, while one described it as an absolute disgrace.

Tottenham Supporters’ Trust hits out at Champions League ticket pricing

Tottenham Hotspur’s Supporters’ Trust has now taken to the social media platform X to reveal that the club rejected their suggestions for ticket prices ahead of the new Champions League campaign.

According to the Trust, they had pushed for a BCCC structure across the four home fixtures, with Borussia Dortmund not expected to be priced as category A. However, given the club’s final pricing decision, it is clear that the Trust’s suggestion was ignored.

MORE SPURS STORIES

In a statement shared on X, the Supporters’ Trust wrote: “THST considers that these prices are excessive. We do not believe Dortmund should be category A.

“In discussions with the Club, we argued for a maximum of Category C and when that was rejected argued for BCCC across the four fixtures. Throughout, we urged the club to focus on maximising attendance & support. Fans should come first.”

Spurs need home advantage to make it out of the league phase

Supporters have continued to debate the club’s stance, with reactions online showing clear division. Some fans have accepted the pricing structure, while others have been left frustrated.

Regardless, Tottenham will mark their return to the Champions League with a home game against Villarreal before wrapping up their league phase run with a clash away at Eintracht Frankfurt.
