Heung-min Son’s Tottenham Hotspur exit would not be straightforward this summer - Spurs Web
Description

Heung-min Son is reportedly the subject of heavy transfer interest from Saudi Arabia, but a new report has shed light on the possibility of the Tottenham Hotspur captain heading out of the exit door on the back of the club’s historic Europa League success.

Despite the fact the Lilywhites have just broken their 17-year-old trophy drought, some reports indicate that Tottenham have decided to replace Ange Postecoglou.

It turns out that the North Londoners may not just lose their silverware-winning head coach, but also potentially the captain who lifted the trophy in Bilbao.

The Sun reported a little over a week ago that Tottenham may consider selling Son if they receive a big enough offer.

The publication claimed that Daniel Levy will give the green light for a major shake-up of the Spurs first-team squad this summer, and the mega-money sale of the forward could bankroll major investment into the squad.

This was backed up on Tuesday by The Telegraph, who said that Heung-min Son could leave Tottenham this summer in order to fund a summer spending spree.

Heung-min Son’s stance revealed as Saudi clubs circle

The Times have now also backed up the claim that Heung-min Son is the subject of renewed interest from the Saudi Pro League after a failed attempt to sign him during the summer of 2023.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is explained that the Pro League is looking to sell its television rights to international audiences, including in the Far East, and Son is seen as someone who would open up the competition to new fans.

However, the report states that the 32-year-old would need to be persuaded to move to Saudi Arabia, having rejected multiple advances over the past couple of years.

The outlet claims that in 2023, Al-Ittihad were willing to pay Tottenham £55m to land Son and they offered the forward a four-year contract worth around £25m.

However, the South Korean turned down the prospect of a move and remarked at the time: “I have many things to do in the Premier League, money doesn’t matter to me now, and the pride of playing football, to play in my favourite league is important.”

Heung-min Son deserves a say on his Tottenham future

Daniel Levy’s popularity among the Tottenham fan base has seemingly not improved despite the club’s Europa League success.

Reports indicate that the Spurs hierarchy are fearful of a backlash from the fans if they sack Postecoglou. To top that off by selling the captain and fan favourite seems almost unthinkable.

I would expect Tottenham to offer Son another year’s extension, given the loyal service over the past decade, Son deserves to have input on his future.

‘Change is coming’ – Alasdair Gold reveals what Tottenham staff are aware of with big changes on the horizon

Alasdair Gold has revealed that big changes are expected behind the scenes at Tottenham Hotspur this summer and has shed light on what the awareness is of within the club’s staff about the managerial position.

While some pundits have called for Tottenham to replace Ange Postecoglou, others have suggested that Postecoglou has done more than enough to deserve a third season.

While there is a split among the Spurs fan base, it seems based on the reaction on social media that the majority of the supporters are happy to give the 59-year-old a chance to build on the Europa League success.

However, according to reports over recent days, that is not the direction the Tottenham’s decision-makers are leaning. It has been alleged that Daniel Levy has already decided to sack Postecoglou, and an official announcement may not be too far away.

Alasdair Gold sheds light on feeling internally at Spurs about Ange Postecoglou’s future

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now also said that the final decision from Levy will come soon, pointing out that the delay has already sucked some of the jubilation of the recent Europa League success.

Interestingly, he says that he says that none of the staff at the club are aware of which direction the club go with when it comes to making a decision regarding the managerial position, with everyone in a ‘limbo’ regarding what the future holds for Ange Postecoglou.

Following the arrival of recently-appointed CEO Vinai Venkatesham, there are expected to be some big changes at the club across various departments this summer, with the club’s medical and sports science departments being under scrutiny.

Earlier this week, Donna-Marie Cullen stepped down from the Tottenham board having worked closely with Levy for over a decade.

However, as things stand, none of the staff at the club are aware of whether Postecoglou will remain in charge for next season.

Reports continue to suggest that Thomas Frank, Marco Silva, Andoni Iraola and Oliver Glasner are top candidates to replace Postecoglou.

Over recent days, it has been claimed that Tottenham have held talks with Frank about taking over from Postecoglou.

Player who departed Spurs after Europa League win is ‘flirting with a move to MLS’ - Spurs Web
Description

A senior player who ended his Tottenham Hotspur career with a Europa League winners medal could next be on his way to the MLS or Saudi Arabia on a cut-price fee.

Tottenham confirmed on Sunday that four players had exited the club following the end of their contracts.

One of those was Timo Werner, who has returned to his parent club RB Leipzig after an 18-month loan spell with at Tottenham.

While the German struggled to make an impact for much of his time in N17, he will always have the distinction of being part of the Tottenham first-team squad which finally broke the club’s 17-year wait for a trophy.

Timo Werner will leave RB Leipzig for a cut-price fee

German news outlet Bild have now pointed out that the 29-year-old will not remain at the Red Bull Arena beyond this summer as he just has a year left on his contract.

RB Leipzig are said to be keen to take his salary off their wage bill, which they are attempting to reduce by 20 per cent ahead of the new campaign.

As a result, the Bundesliga side are willing to sell Werner for a fee of just €4m (£3.3m) this summer and there are already some clubs expressing an interest.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The outlet claims that a move to Saudi Arabia could be on the cards for the former Chelsea man while the forward is also ‘flirting with a move’ to Major League Soccer in the United States.

Tottenham fans will always remember Werner’s parting remark

The German international failed to pull up any trees during his 18 months at Tottenham and left fans incredibly frustrated at times with his lack of end product.

However, Spurs supporters will remember the cold manner in which Werner signed off following the club’s Europa League win.

The forward took to social media to write: “Like I said, I came to win titles. Thank you and good night!!”, with the post referencing his first interview as a Spurs player back in January 2024 where he expressed a desire to win silverware.’

Tottenham star reveals previous approach from PSG, but is in his ‘element’ in North London - Spurs Web
Description

Micky van de Ven is now a Europa League champion, but he has revealed that he did receive an approach from current European champions, Paris Saint-Germain before his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Micky van de Ven is undoubtedly one of Tottenham’s most valuable players at the moment and arguably one of the best young centre-backs in the world.

Spurs looked a completely different side defensively when the Dutchman was fit and starting alongside Cristian Romero in central defence, and the 24-year-old’s acrobatic goal-line clearance in the Europa League final will live long in the memories of the Tottenham faithful.

Some reports over recent months have suggested that Van de Ven wanted by some of the biggest clubs in Europe, which is not surprising given that he possesses unique skill sets, specifically his blistering pace of such a speed which is rare among central defenders.

Micky van de Ven admits previous approach by Paris Saint-Germain

The Dutchman was a relatively unknown quantity when Tottenham signed van de Ven two years ago, with some even feeling that he was overpriced at £43m, given that he was coming off just one good season in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg.

However, the deal looks like an absolute masterstroke by Spurs right now, with the Netherlands international having certainly justified his price tag and more.

The Tottenham man has revealed that around the time the Lilywhites came calling for him in the summer of 2023, his former agent, the late Mino Raiola also received a phone call from PSG.

MORE SPURS STORIES

When asked about PSG’s interest, van de Ven told Voetbal Primeur: “I know that they have reported to my agent Mino Raiola. It never got to the point where it would lead to serious matters.

“It was comparable to the time when Tottenham reported. At a certain point, clubs start to pull at you, and they start to report. But before it is serious, you are further away from home.”

When asked if he regrets not joining PSG, the defender responded: “I’m not looking at that now. I’m very much in my element at Tottenham Hotspur.”

Van de Ven on locking horns with PSG in UEFA Super Cup

The Dutchman and his Tottenham teammates will now go up against PSG in the UEFA Super Cup clash on August 13 in Udine.

Spurs have some good omens ahead of the Super Cup, but Van de Ven is not under any illusions about the challenge the Lilywhites will face in Italy in a couple of months.

When asked about taking on PSG for another European trophy, the Tottenham man simply responded: “They have a fantastic team of course. The manager (Luis Enrique) has done an incredible job.”

Tottenham midfielder’s future uncertain amid interest from Everton and Leeds - Spurs Web
Description

One experienced Tottenham man, who played a huge hand in the club’s march to Europa League glory is attracting interest from elsewhere in the Premier League.

While there has been a lot said and written about potential incomings at Hotspur Way this summer, there could also be many exits from Tottenham, particularly if the club decide to sack Ange Postecoglou and go in a different direction.

One man whose future is very much up in the air is Yves Bissouma, with the midfielder having just one year left on his current Tottenham contract.

A couple of months ago, some outlets treated it as a foregone conclusion that Tottenham would cash in on Bissouma, but the Mali international had a strong end to the season, playing an important role in the latter stages of the Europa League, including a starting role in the 1-0 win over Manchester United in Bilbao.

Yves Bissouma is attracting interest from Leeds United and Everton

Ange Postecoglou has sung Bissouma’s praises for the way he turned around his form at the end of the season, but there is still no suggestion that the 28-year-old is about to be offered a new contract by the Lilywhites.

Ben Jacobs believes that the former Brighton man could be out of the door at Spurs this summer, suggesting Leeds United as a possible destination for the midfielder.

When asked about Bissouma’s future, the journalist told GiveMeSport: “He wants to stay in the Premier League. I’m told Leeds are another one to watch. They’re looking to add another midfielder. It will all come down to finances and wages for them too.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

In a separate interview, Jacobs has also credited Everton with an interest in the Tottenham midfielder.

He said on his appearance on The Last Word Spurs on Monday: “Bissouma is aware of this volume of interest, even Everton, I’m told, could come into the mix because they’re going to be losing a couple of midfielders and also looking to strengthen in that area.”

Bissouma has a year left on his Tottenham contract

There appears to be no shortage of interest in the Tottenham midfielder, with some outlets previously suggesting that Aston Villa could make a move for Bissouma.

It was also claimed a little over a month ago that clubs from Spain, Italy and Saudi Arabia have set their sights on Bissouma.

Should Tottenham decide to offload the midfielder, they will be hoping a bidding war will help drive up his price, however, expect Bissouma to have a big say on his next destination, given his contract situation.

Premier League statement highlights failure of Tottenham and Manchester United after poor domestic campaign

Premier League statement highlights failure of Tottenham and Manchester United after poor domestic campaign - Spurs Web
Description

A statement on the Premier League’s official website has made a big claim about Tottenham Hotspur and the so-called “Big Six” after the disastrous domestic campaign endured by the Lilywhites and Manchester United.

While the 2024-25 season will always be remembered by Tottenham fans as the year in which the club broke the longest trophy drought in their history, the team’s abject showing in the league cannot be completely glossed over.

Tottenham have had their worst-ever season in Premier League history, ending the campaign with 22 defeats and finishing just one spot off the relegation zone.

This abject showing is exactly why reports indicate that Ange Postecoglou is likely to be sacked by Spurs despite winning the Europa League trophy.

Premier League’s statement says the old “Big Six” is redundant

The Premier League have completed a round-up of the takeaways from the 2025-25 season on their official website, and they suggest that the “Big Six” might be a thing of the past.

They point out that unlike previous seasons where the six biggest clubs in the country always tended to finish in the top six, that has not been the case for the past few years in a row.

Their statement reads: “In five of the eight Premier League seasons between 2014 and 2022, the “Big Six” clubs filled every top-six spot in the table.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“In the three years since 2022, not once have those six clubs occupied all of the positions from one to six. In fact, the same number of top-six places have gone to clubs not in the “Big Six” in the last three years as in the previous eight years combined (five).

“The historically bad campaigns for both Man Utd and Spurs signal the end of the “Big Six” era, as does Chelsea’s ongoing battle to retain their status alongside the disruptors Newcastle and Aston Villa.”

Tottenham’s domestic showing this season was unacceptable

It is fascinating to see a lot of Spurs fans on social media riling against the idea of the club sacking Postecoglou, which was perhaps to be expected, given how long the fan base has been starved of silverware.

However, one cannot overlook how unprecedentedly poor Tottenham’s league campaign was, with 22 defeats being an acceptable number for a club of the Lilywhites’ resources, irrespective of any extenuating circumstances.

Some supporters seem to forget that the last Spurs manager to win a trophy, Juande Ramos, took two points from his first eight games of the 2008-09 season following his trophy success.

Tottenham eye £68m double swoop for Serie A pair amid likely Fabio Paratici return

Tottenham eye £68m double swoop for Serie A pair amid likely Fabio Paratici return - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur could be ready to raid Inter Milan this summer, with reports claiming the club is considering a double swoop worth around £68m, and incoming figurehead Fabio Paratici could be central to it all.

Tottenham Hotspur are still awaiting the return of former sporting director Fabio Paratici, with the Italian’s worldwide ban from football set to expire in the coming months.

Should the 52-year-old seal his return, he is expected to play a key role in a number of decisions which Tottenham will take this summer, including transfer dealings and possibly even a say on Ange Postecoglou’s future as manager.

It is now being reported that Paratici’s presence could offer Spurs a decisive edge, as the club has been linked with a pair of Inter Milan players in recent days.

Tottenham consider Inter Milan duo Bisseck and Frattesi in £68m deal

InterLive are now reporting that Tottenham Hotspur’s activity in the summer window could involve Serie A giants Inter Milan, with the expected return of Fabio Paratici a major reason for this development.

According to their report, Spurs are keen on signing Yann Bisseck, who is valued at around £34m – a fee the north London club are believed to have no problem meeting.

The centre-back, who is also being monitored by Manchester United and West Ham, has been a key part of Simone Inzaghi’s team this season, as he has featured in 46 games, scored three goals and assisted three times in all competitions.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is claimed that Inter Milan will only make a final decision on the 24-year-old’s future after the conclusion of the FIFA Club World Cup, which is set to take place this summer.

Spurs also eye Davide Frattesi as midfield tensions simmer

Fabio Paratici has longstanding links within Italian football, and many of the players Paratici signed for Tottenham came from Serie A during his initial stint.

That trend appears to be continuing, as it is further claimed that Spurs could ‘concretely enter’ the race for Davide Frattesi, particularly if the midfielder’s relationship with Inter Milan deteriorates further in the coming months.

This is not the first time Tottenham have been linked with Frattesi, as back in the January transfer window, the north London club were offered the chance to sign the Italian midfielder.

It has now been revealed that Frattesi and Inter Milan came close to a falling-out during that window, with reports now suggesting the issues between club and player have not been fully resolved.

Should Tottenham wish to secure Frattesi’s signature, they would need to pay an estimated €40m (£34m), meaning a double swoop for both Bisseck and Frattesi would cost the club in the region of £68m.

Description

Journalist Ben Jacobs has just revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have taken a huge step towards landing Angel Gomes over the last few days.

Even though there is no clarity on who Tottenham’s manager will be over the coming weeks, the Lilywhites are seemingly pushing ahead with moves for their transfer targets.

It has been revealed over the last few days that Spurs have started working on a deal to sign Angel Gomes, who is now a free agent after his contract with Lille ran out.

Last month, some outlets claimed that despite facing a lot of competition for the England international, Tottenham are optimistic about their chances of landing Gomes.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has now become the latest to talk up the possibility of the 24-year-old ending up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

He claimed that the North Londoners have already submitted an offer to Gomes’ entourage and over the last past few days, they have grown in confidence that the contract offer will be accepted by the player.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport about Tottenham’s transfer plans: “Gomes is another possibility, and Tottenham have made an offer. What I’ve heard in the last kind of 48 hours is that Tottenham have grown in confidence that their offer might be accepted.”

Tottenham's transfer debt could impact on summer spending ahead of Champions League return - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s past transfer dealings could be the club’s biggest constraint in the summer transfer window.

The summer transfer window is now open, and for the Lilywhites, they can begin to make signings before the window closes again on 10 June, before reopening on 16 June and closing finally on 1 September.

Of course, Tottenham are expected to be busy this summer, with reports revealing that Spurs are looking to strengthen three positions ahead of the new campaign.

However, the Lilywhites have already been handed a quadruple blow this window, one that would leave fans worried, as a few of their targets now look to be heading elsewhere.

Tottenham still owe £330m in unpaid transfer fees despite Champions League windfall

Securing UEFA Champions League football has improved Tottenham’s chances of signing a higher calibre of player, with the lure of top-level European football set to be an extra bargaining chip.

The financial reward of at least £40million is expected to be added to Tottenham’s coffers as a result of securing a place in next season’s Champions League, is another huge boost for the north London club.

BBC Sport have now revealed Tottenham’s biggest constraint in the summer window could be unpaid transfer fees proving to be the main obstacle.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham can strengthen their squad, however, they still owe more than £330million in unpaid transfer fees, a considerable proportion of which are due in summer 2025 and may limit their spending power.

Spurs still active in transfer window despite debt concerns

Regardless of the constraint, Tottenham have already completed their first piece of business this summer, with the club finalising their £21million obligation to buy Kevin Danso from RC Lens, a clause that was inserted in the centre-back’s winter move.

The club have also made their first sale of the window, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg completing his move to French side Marseille for £17million.

A few players have also left on a free transfer, with Sergio Reguilon, Fraser Forster, Timo Werner and Alfie Whiteman all departing following the expiration of their contracts.

Tottenham Hotspur have just learned that a deal for Jarrod Branthwaite will be difficult to complete, but not impossible as Everton’s transfer stance on the centre-back has now come to light.

Amidst the continued speculation over Cristian Romero’s potential departure from Tottenham, it has been widely reported that Spurs may make a move for Marc Guehi this summer.

However, it was reported by The Times on Monday that Spurs may turn their attention to Branthwaite after Guehi had rejected a move to Tottenham.

The race for the Everton man is expected to be hotly contested this summer, with some sources previously claiming that Manchester United were determined to beat Tottenham to Branthwaite this summer.

Jarrad Branthwaite is wanted by Tottenham and Man Utd

The Daily Mail have now backed up Tottenham’s interest in the 22-year-old, claiming that the Lilywhites are expected to test the waters for the young defender.

They say that their London rivals, Chelsea, are also weighing an approach for Jarrad Branthwaite, but both clubs have been told by Everton that the defender is not for sale.

David Moyes has made it clear to the Toffees hierarchy that the England international needs to stay at the club ahead of their first campaign at their new stadium.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, that does not mean that there is no chance of the centre-back leaving the Merseyside club as the outlet also sheds light on the player’s transfer stance.

The Mail explain that despite Everton’s firm stance, Branthwaite wants to make a step up this season.

It is revealed that the centre-back is keen on playing Champions League football next season to ensure that he finds a regular place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad, which is something Tottenham can offer after their Europa League final win against Manchester United.

The publication points out that Everton are being realistic and are ready to sell their academy graduate for an offer of around £70m this summer, particularly given that they are not in a comfortable position with respect to PSR.
