Daniel Levy has already signed off on a number of exits at Tottenham this summer and another is soon to follow.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has officially joined Marseille after time there on loan, while Josh Keeley was sold to Luton Town and – most pertinently of all – Son Heung-min has joined Los Angeles FC.

There have also been numerous loan exits, headlined by Mikey Moore’s move to Rangers until the end of the season.

And it looks as though another young player will head out of Tottenham on loan ahead of the summer transfer window closing on 1 September.

While Moore is set to benefit from a loan spell at Rangers, many can be forgiven for not feeling the same about fellow youngster Luka Vuskovic.

Vuskovic has been highly thought of at Spurs for a while now, with his reputation only being enhanced with some positive displays across pre-season.

The 18-year-old has since been an unused substitute in Tottenham’s first three games of this season, which includes the UEFA Super Cup loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

According to The Athletic on 27 August, Hamburg have now reached an agreement in principle to sign Vuskovic on loan for the season.

On the face of it, it would be easy to say this is a good decision as it allows the Hajduk Split academy player to further develop.

However, it is a big risk on Levy‘s behalf as Vuskovic is on the verge of being first-team ready. The fact he’s been on the bench for every game this season tells you that.

Micky van de Ven spoke glowingly of Vuskovic during the summer, at a point when it looked as though the defender would feature fairly regularly for Spurs this term.

“He has a lot of qualities and I think he has shown in the last two friendlies that he has a lot of big and strong points where even our centre-backs can learn from.”

The bottom line is that Thomas Frank does not have a massive group of players to choose from – not in the heart of defence nor anywhere else.

Vuskovic may not have played a minute yet, but all it takes is for injuries and suspensions to kick in and all that changes.

With a senior Croatia cap to his name already, and his 19th birthday around the corner, it would have made more sense for Vuskovic to stick around than head out on loan.

Tottenham have continued their youth revolution with Conall Glancy from Celtic.

Tottenham have already poached Luca Furnell-Gill from Liverpool and Daniel Batty from Manchester City recently.

Tottenham had been strongly linked with a move for Glancy for what feels like forever, but the transfer had not been officially confirmed by either party.

Glancy will probably wait a significant time to make his first-team debut for the N17 outfit, as the likes of Dominic Solanke and Richarlison are key players for Frank’s side.

However, that is the right path for the Scottish youngster to continue his development playing against his own age group, rather than mixing it up with hardened professionals and risking injury.

The Glasgow-born forward can operate centrally or on the right flank, and notched 15 goals for Celtic’s Under-16s in the 2024-25 season in an impressive campaign.

Glancy is understood to have had significant interest in his services, so it could prove to be a real coup for the Lilywhites if he eventually makes the step up to the first team.

They seem to have taken a better approach to youth recruitment in recent times, beating clubs to top youth talents, another of which is Irish striker Mason Melia, who will link up with the North London club when he turns 18.

Whether these players pan out at the senior level remains to be seen, as it can be difficult to translate form at youth level into the professional game, but the level of excitement from Spurs is telling; they believe they have captured a real gem.

Time will tell whether they are right or not.

Dejan Kulusevski not expected back in individual training before mid-December
