“The difference with Son is that he was a ready-made player who came straight into the team and contributed,” Wenham said.

“Yang was signed as a teenager, and Son joined at 22. Son was bought for £22million as well. So a massive difference in their ability when they joined, their experience as of when they joined, and Son was well known in Bayer Leverkusen and Hamburg.

“Yang is straight from the Korean League. So a massive difference in terms of their football pedigree. Therefore, I think it’s really hard to even consider comparing the two at this stage.”

Yang could blossom at Tottenham

While Tottenham fans are yet to see Yang perform across a full 90 for the club, he could stun spectators over the next few years.

He took full advantage of the few minutes Frank gave him during pre-season. The winger looked lively against Newcastle in particular, injecting energy into a depleted Spurs side once substituted on.

If you had asked Tottenham fans about both players’ potential three months ago, they would have told you that Tel had the higher ceiling.

However, Odobert has been the stronger of the two during pre-season. This has not escaped Frank’s notice, who has played him regularly.

“If you can get past that aggressive press, you can cause problems against PSG. Based on the fact that they’ve had no preseason, I do give us some hope in the game.”

Tottenham can defeat PSG

Most would look at both teams and rule Tottenham out of bagging a win against the French giants.

Aside from their defeat against Chelsea, PSG appear strong heading into the tie. Meanwhile, Spurs have continuously struggled during their pre-season friendlies, other than the win against Reading.

Despite the odds, the Lilywhites have a chance if they are direct on Wednesday. During their draw to Wycombe at Hotspur Way, Frank was insistent on using Pedro Porro generously in the attack.

Therefore, the Dane could have more than a few tricks up his sleeve for the all-important confrontation.
