Description

Thomas Frank is sure to already have a strong idea of how he wants his Tottenham squad to look next season.

The Danish boss only took the reins in North London one week ago, but his vision is sure to have been shared with Spurs’ recruitment department, so that everyone at the club is aligned in helping Frank build the team he wants.

As ever when a new manager is appointment, Frank will likely oversee numerous changes in personnel ahead of his first season in charge, and it is now surprise that we are already seeing the N17 outfit linked with numerous new players.

One of those links is Adem Zorgane, who starred in the midfield for Belgian side Sporting Charleroi over the last few seasons.

Tottenham eye move for Zorgane as Antwerp offer contract

Tottenham’s midfield seemingly has an unsettled future at the moment, with the likes of Yves Bissmoua, Lucas Bergvall and Pape Sarr all being linked with a move away from the club since the conclusion of the season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, it now looks as though Spurs could be readying an addition in the middle of the park in the form of Zorgane.

The Lilywhites are reportedly one of several European sides chasing a move for the 25-year-old Algerian, with Royal Antwerp another possible destination, according to reputable Algerian outlet DZ Foot (18 June).

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri adds (17 June) that the Belgian side have already made a contract offer to Zorgane.

The 20-cap international is valued at £8.5million by Charleroi, and that valuation has prompted Tottenham to pay close attention to the midfielder over the last few months.

Zorgane could be worth a gamble for Spurs

Belgian football has produced several stars over the years, and while the Pro League is perhaps not the most glamorous in the world, it can be a hotbed for talent at times, and that talent can often be available for fairly cheap sums.

With that in mind, Zorgane could represent a gamble worth taking for a little under £10m, as they look to bolster their options at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Zorgane captained Charleroi last season as they qualified for the play-off round of next season’s UEFA Conference League. An influential figure in the middle of the park, he started in all 40 of his side’s league outings last term, missing just 21 minutes across the entirety of their campaign.

The Algerian regularly lined up at the base of a 4-2-3-1, and the level of consistency and reliability that he showed is something which Frank will surely be looking for to add to his Spurs squad.

Throw in the fact that Zorgane has ample international experience, and it could prove to be a shrewd piece of business for Tottenham.

Tottenham told to ‘go all out to sign Jarrod Bowen’ as Levy makes approach - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Jarrod Bowen has been one of the Premier League’s best players in recent years.

The West Ham captain has helped guide the London club to a European trophy when the Hammers won the Europa Conference League back in 2023.

On top of this, the England international has commonly hit 10-plus Premier League goals a season despite playing for a side that has struggled in the last two campaigns.

Now, Tottenham have been told to make a move for the 28-year-old as they pursue a new winger this summer.

Tottenham told to sign Bowen instead of Mohammed Kudus

In recent days, it has become apparent that Tottenham have made an approach for Mohammed Kudus.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The West Ham star had a fantastic debut season at the Hammers but struggled in the 2024/25 campaign.

Nevertheless, many Spurs fans want to see Kudus make the move across London.

However, some of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful were quick to point out that Bowen would likely be a better buy for Thomas Frank.

However, other Tottenham fans are unsure if Bowen would move from West Ham this summer.

Bowen would be a difficult buy for Spurs

As good as Bowen is, it is difficult to see West Ham letting the winger go, especially to a London rival like Tottenham.

There is no doubt that the England international would transform Frank’s side this season and add a consistent threat on the wings.

However, with Bowen having five years left on his contract, the signing does not seem doable.

While Kudus is arguably not good enough to play for Spurs, it would likely cost a fortune for Daniel Levy to sign his teammate.

However, if Tottenham can find a way to get Bowen, they must go all out to complete the transfer, ready for the 2025/26 season.

Tottenham news round-up: Mbeumo ready to sign as Levy makes personal approach - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Tottenham continue to make headlines as Daniel Levy accelerates his objectives for this summer.

Spurs’ summer of change does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon – in fact, Levy may have just hit the accelerator.

The Tottenham Chairman has now turned his attention to securing a couple of new signings for head coach Thomas Frank.

And with the new season less than two months away, Spurs have a lot of catching up to do.

Bryan Mbeumo is ready to sign for Tottenham

Tottenham were thought to be second in the battle for Mbeumo’s signature, with it widely reported that he preferred Manchester United.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, the saga has taken an unexpected turn, with it now appearing that Frank could receive his favoured signing.

As reported by Duncan Castles via The Transfers Podcast on Thursday (19 June), Brentford have now accepted they will need to sell Mbeumo this summer.

United have offered a package worth over £60million, but it is understood that the Bees want £70m for their star forward, who is entering the final year of his contract.

The Sunday Times journalist reports that the 25-year-old could choose Tottenham over the Red Devils if Spurs match Brentford’s asking price.

However, Tottenham will need to act soon, as along with United, Aston Villa and Newcastle are understood to be interested.

Levy makes a personal approach to sign Mohammed Kudus

Levy has added Mohammed Kudus to his list of potential transfers, as he continues his search for a versatile attacker.

As reported by The West Ham Way (19 June), the chairman is understood to have enquired about the 24-year-old.

Kudus’ £85million release clause is above Spurs’ valuation, but the Irons are considering selling their star forward for a smaller fee.

The Lilywhites are looking to complete the deal for around £50m, and Levy is hoping his first offer will encourage the winger to consider the move.

While the Ghanaian failed to replicate his 2023/24 numbers last season, Tottenham will be hoping Frank can unlock him once he arrives.

Tottenham sanctioned for crowd misconduct v Manchester United

Spurs beat Man United four times last season, with the Lilywhites famously claiming a 1-0 victory in the UEFA Europa League final in Bilbao (21 May).

But an incident that occurred in the clash at Old Trafford on 29 September 2024 has had dire consequences for Tottenham.

The North London side were charged by the Football Association over alleged homophobic chanting by their fans during their 3-0 win in Manchester.

The FA have now fined Spurs over the incident after concluding they had failed to ensure their fans behaved respectfully.

In a statement on Thursday (19 June), The FA wrote, “Tottenham Hotspur FC has been fined £75,000 for two breaches of FA Rule E21 in relation to crowd control misconduct at its Premier League match against Manchester United FC on Sunday 29 September 2024.

“Tottenham Hotspur FC admitted both charges, and an independent Regulatory Commission imposed an action plan, £150,000 fine and warning. An independent Appeal Board reduced the fine to £75,000 following an appeal by the club.”

Spurs have always stood for the standards of respect and inclusivity and will likely seek to uphold them moving forward.

Tottenham ‘to exploit loophole to sign Celtic gem’ amid recent news

Tottenham ‘to exploit loophole to sign Celtic gem’ amid recent news - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Daniel Levy will be rubbing his hands together as Tottenham close in on the signing of a Celtic gem.

Levy is often at odds with Spurs supporters, and that tension could soon spill over and cause an issue for Thomas Frank.

However, the one thing that cannot be denied is that the Tottenham Chairman can identify a good opportunity, especially when it comes to potential transfers.

And it looks as though Levy has done exactly this once again, as Spurs push to sign a Celtic sensation.

Tottenham to exploit ‘loophole’ to sign Celtic’s Conall Glancy

Tottenham placed a lot of trust in their youth last season, which helped the North London club secure silverware for the first time in 17 years.

MORE SPURS STORIES

As a result, it seems as though Levy wants to continue to invest in young talent for the future.

As reported by Mark Hendry (7 June), Tottenham are expected to win the race for Celtic star Conall Glancy. The teenager is seen as one of the best young players in Scottish football, and the move is set to frustrate the Hoops’ hierarchy.

And Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes this frustration could be owed to a loophole in Scotland, which Spurs are ready to exploit.

“This is a very highly regarded player,” Wenham said.

“I feel sorry for Rangers and Celtic, because owing to rules in Scotland, players can leave Scottish clubs when they’re 16, whereas in Ireland, the players can’t leave until they’re 18.

“Therefore, all these Scottish clubs are getting are nominal training fees, which is obviously very frustrating, because Rangers and Celtic have lost players like Rory Wilson and Ben Doak.

“If they could get these players to sign professional deals and play regularly, suddenly they’re worth millions, rather than thousands in compensation.

“However, as long as that loophole exists, English clubs will continue to exploit it. That seems to me what Tottenham are doing here, and Glancy will likely join the Under-18s.”

Tottenham need to invest in experienced players

The Lilywhites have had success with their investment in future stars, but the approach continues to be a gamble.

There is little way of knowing whether these youngsters will live up to expectations. In the meantime, it is unlikely that these players will be ready to perform in some of Spurs’ bigger UEFA Champions League fixtures.

As a result, Tottenham should look to strike a balance between signing senior players and young talent. This means investing in more experienced players this summer and taking good opportunities for youngsters as they arise.

‘Bergvall will be scratching his head’ after announcement away from Tottenham

‘Bergvall will be scratching his head’ after announcement away from Tottenham - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Lucas Bergvall enjoyed a standout debut season with Tottenham.

The Swede arrived at Tottenham last July and quickly climbed up the ranks to cement his position as a starter in North London.

Therefore, the 19-year-old is bound to be left scratching his head after a recent announcement away from Hotspur Way.

Bergvall not nominated for PFA Young Player of the Year award

Last month, Bergvall completed a clean sweep of the Player of the Season awards at Tottenham.

The midfielder received the Official Supporters’ Clubs (OSC) Player of the Season and both Player of the Season awards from One Hotspur Members and One Hotspur Juniors, becoming the first teenager since Glenn Hoddle to achieve this feat.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Bergvall also played an important role in Spurs’ UEFA Europa League-winning campaign before his injury. However, that has not afforded him recognition from his peers.

The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) announced on Thursday (19 June) the final six for their Young Player of the Year award. The nominees included Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and Morgan Rogers.

But despite a sensational individual season at Spurs, Bergvall failed to make the cut.

Bergvall should have been selected over Nwaneri

While most of the nominees are deserving of their spot, Bergvall should have been chosen over Nwaneri. The Arsenal winger was not as consistent, nor made as much of an impact for his team.

Bergvall made 45 appearances for Tottenham last season, while Nwaneri made 37 for Arsenal. While only eight games separated the two, Bergvall played almost double the number of minutes.

This demonstrates that Bergvall played a bigger role for Spurs while Nwaneri struggled to get out from under Bukayo Saka’s shadow.

Spurs’ Premier League finish has most likely played a role in the final decision. But team achievements should come secondary to individual performance for an individual award.

And even if team achievements are to be taken into account, surely a top-two season isn’t something to rave about if Arsenal finished that season trophyless.

Bergvall played a big role in securing Tottenham their first trophy in 17 years.

Nevertheless, under a new manager and with a fresh season ahead, the 19-year-old will be in with a chance of winning the award next season.

‘Tottenham have perfect chance to sign Eze’ amid Crystal Palace controversy

‘Tottenham have perfect chance to sign Eze’ amid Crystal Palace controversy - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Tottenham might never get a better opportunity to finally sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.

Eze has long been linked with a move to North London, with the playmaker’s profile reaching an all-time high last season after he netted the winner in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

While Tottenham already have James Maddison, it seems Spurs are reluctant to depend on the injury-prone midfielder as they identify targets who play a similar role to the Englishman.

Therefore, Eze could be a perfect signing, and events at Selhurst Park could open the door to a move.

Crystal Palace could be excluded from the UEFA Europa League

Tottenham are favourites to sign Eze if the midfielder does leave Palace this summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The 26-year-old wrote his name into the history books at Selhurst Park with his goal against Manchester City at Wembley.

Not only did the strike confirm Palace’s first-ever major honour, but it also secured the Eagles a spot in next season’s UEFA Europa League – or so they thought.

Oliver Glasner’s side are at risk of being expelled from the Europa League because John Textor’s Eagle Football company, which holds a 43 per cent stake in Palace, also owns a majority stake in Lyon.

The French outfit are also set to compete in next season’s Europa League, and UEFA rules do not allow individuals to have decisive influence on more than one club in the same competition.

As Lyon secured a higher league finish than Palace, it is the Eagles’ place in Europe which is under threat.

This uncertainty presents the perfect opportunity for Spurs to swoop in and sign Eze. The Lilywhites are guaranteed to play in the UEFA Champions League next season, which could be enough to convince Eze to join.

As the biggest domestic European competition in football, the Champions League could still be enough for his signature even if Palace can play in the Europa League.

Tottenham should take a chance on Eze

Tottenham need to begin investing in experienced players, and Eze could be an excellent place to start.

While the 26-year-old does not have any experience in Europe, he was one of the standout players in the Premier League last season. He has also been a consistent creative threat for Palace over the years.

The midfielder has an element of flair to his game and can operate in many attacking roles. Whether in the midfield or on the wing, he has the vision and drive to create for his teammates.

Therefore, Tottenham should make the most of the uncertainty around Palace and sign Eze this summer.

‘Bryan Mbeumo or Antoine Semenyo to end up at Tottenham’ amid transfer latest

‘Bryan Mbeumo or Antoine Semenyo to end up at Tottenham’ amid transfer latest - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Tottenham are expected to add a marquee signing to their forward line amid links to Bryan Mbeumo and Antoine Semenyo.

Thomas Frank will be keen to rebuild the Tottenham squad in his image after succeeding Ange Postecoglou in North London.

It has been widely reported that the Dane has requested that Tottenham sign Mbeumo from Brentford. However, Bournemouth’s star forward Semenyo is also reportedly a target.

And it is expected that one of those players will be playing his football at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.

Tottenham to sign Mbeumo or Semenyo, Man Utd to sign the other

Tottenham beat Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final last season, confirming a place in the UEFA Champions League and leaving the Red Devils in a woeful position.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, it seems as though the two clubs are still shopping in the same market, with Ruben Amorim’s side widely reported to be leading the race for Mbeumo, while also holding an interest of their own in Semenyo.

As a result, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes one of Mbeumo or Semenyo will end up in North London, while the other will head to Manchester.

“I’d rather Mbeumo over Semenyo,” Wenham said.

“Semenyo is an exciting player, but Mbeumo is just a little bit more polished, and that’s why I’d prefer him out of the two players. If we could get Mbeumo, that would be a fantastic signing, a Premier League-ready player who can make an instant impact.

“I get the impression that one of Mbeumo or Semenyo will end up at Tottenham, and the other will end up at Manchester United.

“Either would improve our squad, a squad which needs improving ahead of next season’s Champions League. For either player, Tottenham would be a huge step up, and I also think they’d be in our strongest team almost instantly.

“However, as I said, while either would be fantastic, I’d prefer Mbeumo.”

Tottenham will need to pick up the pace to secure Mbeumo

Mbeumo would be an excellent signing for Spurs; he is technical, has elite output and has already implemented Frank’s philosophy at the highest level.

However, with United determined to secure his signing, Tottenham will need to act fast to compete.

Semenyo would be a good alternative if the Lilywhites miss out on Mbeumo. With Son Heung-min’s future uncertain and Champions League football to play for, his direct, attacking style would be a massive benefit.

But even though he can play across the frontline, his best position seems to be on the left wing. As a result, Spurs would still need to hunt for a right winger to compete with Brennan Johnson for a starting spot.

Therefore, if Tottenham wants to complete the signing of either player, they will need to start making moves in the summer transfer window.

Thomas Frank ‘damaged goods’ at Tottenham after Levy agreement

Thomas Frank ‘damaged goods’ at Tottenham after Levy agreement - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Daniel Levy and Thomas Frank have both inherited a tricky situation at Tottenham.

The ex-Brentford manager was chosen by the Spurs hierarchy to replace Ange Postecoglou despite the Europa League final victory.

He is set to lead the Lilywhites into a new era and, perhaps more importantly, back into the Champions League.

However, while he is a very promising manager, it was a brave decision from Levy and Co. to hand him the reins in North London.

Frank taking on huge risk with Tottenham job

Frank faces a tough job to replace the Australian at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Levy could face significant backlash if the appointment does not work out.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Iconic commentator and Premier League expert Ian Darke believes Frank will ultimately damage his reputation if he does not succeed at Tottenham, but he is fully aware of what working with Levy entails.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “Probably Thomas Frank, I would say, although he has built up so much credit in the bank for the job he has done at Brentford.

“Even if it didn’t work out for him at Tottenham, it is likely people would shrug their shoulders and say ‘well, you know, Tottenham can be a bit of a basket case club, with all the politics, it is a difficult place to be a manager.

“He would be slightly damaged goods if it didn’t work out for him, is it a risk for Levy? Well, if it is, it is one he is very anxious to take as he has sacked a manager who just won him a trophy.

“He is never going to be Mr Popular with the supporters, a lot of them have made it pretty clear that they want him out, that is what Frank has got to deal with, he has got to become the master of the mad house a little bit.”

Frank set up to fail by Levy at Tottenham

Scrutiny on Frank will be at an all-time high, given the stature of Spurs and the fact that his predecessor won the N17 club’s first trophy in 17 years.

It seems inevitable that is a matter of when rather than if he will be sacked, as the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte were before him, especially given Levy’s lofty ambitions of winning the highest honours.

That is not to say Frank will be sacked anytime soon, but the average tenure for a Spurs manager in recent times is under a year and a half.

To avoid that and give him a fighting chance of keeping the job on a long-term basis, Levy needs to back his man with a significant amount of funding in the transfer window to bring in the likes of Bryan Mbeumo.

Description

Tottenham could be set to beat Manchester United to the signing of Bryan Mbeumo.

Thomas Frank has reportedly asked Tottenham to sign Mbeumo from his former club, Brentford.

The Lilywhites were thought to be second choice, with Mbeumo widely reported to prefer a move to Manchester United. However, it seems as though this transfer saga has now taken a twist.

Brentford want £70m for Mbeumo as Man Utd submit £60m+ bid

As reported by Duncan Castles via The Transfers Podcast on Thursday (19 June), Brentford have now accepted they will need to sell Mbeumo this summer.

United have offered a package worth over £60million, but it is understood that the Bees want £70m for their star forward, who is out of contract at the Gtech Community Stadium next summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

As well as the Red Devils, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are understood to be interested.

And despite reports that Mbeumo would prefer a switch to Old Trafford, Castles reports that the Cameroonian could choose Tottenham over United if the Lilywhites match Brentford’s asking price.

Tottenham should act fast for Mbeumo

The Lilywhites are running out of time to secure Mbeumo’s signature, with United determined to sign the forward this summer.

Mbuemo to Tottenham just makes sense. He had a stand-out season for Brentford, netting 20 goals and contributing nine assists in 42 appearances.

While Brennan Johnson scored the winner for Spurs in the UEFA Europa League final, there are still limited options on the right flank.

All the best teams in the world have at least two starters in each position. Luis Enrique’s PSG and Pep Guardiola’s Man City are prime examples, and both have been successful domestically.

The competition for a starting spot would encourage both players to perform at their best level each game. Furthermore, signing Mbeumo would put Spurs in an excellent position to compete for the UEFA Champions League next season.

Tottenham need squad depth for more than internal competition. The football calendar is packed, and Spurs will feel it even more now that they are playing at the highest level in Europe.

As a result, rotation is a must, and Mbeumo could help provide that. Therefore, Spurs must advance their efforts to sign him or miss out on another star player.

Tottenham ‘to sign Marc Guéhi ahead of Jarrad Branthwaite’ – Exclusive

Tottenham ‘to sign Marc Guéhi ahead of Jarrad Branthwaite’ – Exclusive - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Jarrad Branthwaite and Marc Guéhi have both been linked with moves to Tottenham.

Tottenham could be in the market for a new centre-back this summer as Cristian Romero continues to be linked with Atletico Madrid.

The Lilywhites had a deadline day bid rejected for Crystal Palace centre-back Guéhi during the winter transfer window, and have more recently been linked with a move for Everton’s Branthwaite.

However, this rumour has caused some confusion, with an expectation that Tottenham will sign Guéhi ahead of Branthwaite this summer.

Tottenham could spend big on Guéhi

Branthwaite has reportedly emerged as a top target for Tottenham.

MORE SPURS STORIES

According to Mail Sport (16 June), Thomas Frank’s side are weighing up an approach for the Everton star, and could formalise their interest as soon as this week.

Tottenham will need to act fast as four other Premier League sides, including Chelsea, are also considering a swoop for Branthwaite, who Everton are reluctant to sell.

However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that if Tottenham are going to spend big money on a centre-back this summer, it will be Guéhi.

“For me, this is a strange one,” Wenham said.

“Branthwaite is a left-footed, left-sided central defender, and we’ve got Micky van de Ven in that position already. Therefore, if we’re going to spend big money, I think we will sign Guéhi.

“It seems odd that Tottenham would invest heavily in a player who would be an understudy to van de Ven.

“We’re not Manchester City; we’re not going to spend big money on someone unless they’re going straight into the team. As a result, I don’t really believe those rumours.”

Tottenham should consider Guéhi an excellent alternative

Several of the Premier League’s biggest clubs have been linked with Branthwaite. Therefore, the 22-year-old’s situation is certainly one to watch this summer.

However, Spurs would be better off signing Guéhi, especially if Romero does leave, as the England international would slot in seamlessly alongside van de Ven.

As a result, any big-money offer from Tottenham for a new centre-back should be sent to Selhurst Park, rather than the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
