Description

Mikey Moore could depart Tottenham and join Millwall in the summer.

Moore is currently at Rangers on loan and has done well, particularly since the introduction of Danny Rohl as head coach.

The teenager has been a regular this campaign at Ibrox, but that isn’t to say Rangers didn’t once think of sending Moore back to Tottenham earlier in his temporary stint.

Tottenham fans are keeping an eye on Moore and will be keen on welcoming him back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of the season.

The Lilywhites faithful may not get that chance, with Moore potentially able to delight his close family with a surprise move to Millwall, on one condition.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Mikey Moore to Millwall hinges on one massive factor

Tottenham allowed Moore to join Rangers in the summer despite a fair share of backlash against the loan move.

The winger is seen as arguably the brightest talent in North London, but wasn’t afforded a chance to prove that under Thomas Frank.

Things have gone on to work out well in Glasgow, but questions are starting to be asked over his future if and when he returns to Spurs in the summer.

Millwall legend Bryan King has suggested that a move to The Den could be on the cards at the end of the campaign, due to his family ties to the Lions.

That comes with a caveat, with a deal only there to be done should Alex Neil and Co. earn promotion from the Championship.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “He’ll stay at Rangers until the end of the season.

“He starts games and plays regularly, which will be the main thing for him right now.

“It’s a great learning curve for him to be playing football in a tough league and for a big club, and it will benefit him in the long run.

“It will be best for him to stay at Rangers until the end of the season and then reassess in the summer.

“He’ll come back to Tottenham, and you never know, he could end up at Millwall if they get promoted to the Premier League.

“His family are Millwall supporters, I bet they would love him to go there.

“You only have to look at one player who went there and changed his career, and that’s Harry Kane.“

Moore could demand Tottenham exit

Spurs may be having a shocking season, but one thing they don’t lack right now is depth in wide areas.

Frank has a collection of experienced winger options, so welcoming back a youngster like Moore may not benefit his minutes.

Tottenham wingers:

Should the Rangers loanee make the move back to North London from Ibrox, it may be in his best interests to seek a move elsewhere.

A move to join Millwall and play for the side his family supports could be positive, but without their promotion, it feels unlikely.

It will be interesting to see how Moore assesses his own future in the summer and whether the Lilywhites will have their hand forced.

Former Thomas Frank star speaks out on Tottenham sack latest

Description

Thomas Frank’s future at Tottenham is in a precarious position.

Frank is under intense scrutiny as Spurs sit 14th in the Premier League table after 23 matches.

Tottenham drew 2-2 with Burnley on Saturday, and they now sit 10 points behind fourth-placed Man United, meaning their hopes of achieving Champions League football next season look incredibly slim.

Although Frank has gotten a tune out of his players in the Champions League, Spurs fans have had enough of the boring style of play.

Despite the result on Saturday, Frank still has the backing of the board ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Ben Mee backs Thomas Frank to succeed at Tottenham

Frank is living on borrowed time in N17, and his former player, Ben Mee, has spoken out on Tottenham‘s situation.

Mee played under the Dane at Brentford between 2022 and 2025, making 67 appearances in that time.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 26 January, he believes Frank deserves more time to turn things around.

He said: “I believe he’s a top, top manager. Tottenham can’t keep going from manager to manager every six months. It takes time to implement change.

“Every ounce of thought goes into his process at Tottenham, and some of the players have to take responsibility.

“Micky van de Ven being one of their top scorers doesn’t help, and their attackers need more consistency in the team.”

The Tottenham board will undoubtedly hold talks with Frank if Spurs lose to Frankfurt and drop out of the top eight of the Champions League table.

If results don’t improve soon, Spurs will have no choice but to dismiss him, and there are several candidates to choose from as his replacement.

Who could become the Tottenham manager if Thomas Frank is sacked?

The most likely scenario is for the board to hire an interim manager until the end of the season, before making an appointment in the summer.

Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a return to Tottenham after he manages the USA for the 2026 World Cup.

Fans would be delighted to see him back in the dugout, and appointing someone who has proven himself to be successful would certainly work.

Alternatively, former striker Robbie Keane has been linked with the job, potentially taking the role on an interim basis, with the possibility of being made the permanent boss if he does well.

John Heitinga, one of Tottenham’s coaches, has previous managerial experience at Ajax, and he could be someone to step up until the end of the season.

Of course, Frank has to get sacked before any of this can happen, but all the signs are pointing to that happening very soon.

Tottenham need to crack on with their January business despite the uncertainty over Thomas Frank’s future.

The Lewis family splashed £35million to sign Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid, with the midfielder followed by left-back Souza at N17 for £13million.

Spurs have been linked with Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson in recent days, and could be about to strengthen their defensive options further.

Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Burnley on Saturday was damaging for Frank‘s future at the Lilywhites, but the game gave great insight into the area that needs to be improved next.

Yves Bissouma, in particular, gave Johan Lange a lot to think about.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Yves Bissouma has shifted Tottenham’s transfer focus

Bissouma has had his off-field issues, where many thought he would never play in a Spurs shirt again, after he was caught inhaling laughing gas.

The midfielder has also had to recover from a long-term injury, but he’s bounced back fantastically.

Bissouma has now featured in Tottenham’s last two Premier League games and seems to be forming a great partnership with Gallagher.

Bissouma proved that Tottenham’s midfield doesn’t need much tweaking in the remaining time left of the window, and the overall performance showed it’s the attack where the Lilywhites need to add.

Tottenham’s main source of attack is currently from defenders off set-pieces, and that’s not good enough.

Mohammed Kudus’ injury has only added to the issues in the final third, and Lange simply needs to shift that focus immediately.

Ange Postecoglou has shown faith in Bissouma

Bissouma hasn’t had a chance to impress Frank up until now, but he may have changed his own fortunes with displays against West Ham and Burnley.

While speaking on talkSPORT in 2023, Ange Postecoglou detailed his first impressions of Bissouma when he took charge of Tottenham.

Postecoglou said: “I kind of grabbed him [Bissouma] and said to him that the way he was training at the time, the first three or four sessions we mainly had young guys and I said, ‘you can be a leader in this group’.

“I already knew about his ability, but the way he was training, I could see he got a lift from that.”

Tottenham have been linked with Savinho and Omar Marmoush in recent weeks, with a loan move for the former more likely as Kudus’ potential stop-gap replacement.

A right-winger is essential for the Lilywhites this month, and Savinho should be the target, considering the solidity in the middle of the park.

Andy Robertson in Tottenham transfer twist as contact made with new head coach

Description

Andy Robertson’s surprise move to Tottenham could be impacted by a potential managerial change.

Robertson has been linked with Spurs as the Scotland international emerged as a shock target earlier in the week at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

A move from Liverpool to Tottenham seems to be edging closer for Robertson, even with the uncertainty behind Thomas Frank in North London.

The Danish head coach is under increasing scrutiny after Tottenham could only draw with Burnley on Saturday, with the sack looking ever more likely.

Things aren’t exactly rosy for Arne Slot at Anfield either, with initial talks beginning ahead of a possible dugout change.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham interested in signing Andy Robertson

Robertson would bring experience to Tottenham, although that isn’t something that they have missed this season with many seasoned pros on Hotspur Way.

What the Scot would bring is a winning mentality, having played a part in two Premier League title wins and a Champions League lift.

Left-back is an interesting position for Frank and Co. to target, but if a deal is available, there are worse options out there on the market.

It appears that a deal may be edging closer, with Robertson seemingly waving goodbye to the Liverpool fans after their defeat against Bournemouth.

The defender was reportedly the last player with the travelling faithful as he thanked supporters on what could be his final outing in red.

There is every chance that his goodbye has come too soon, especially after contact was made with a new manager at Anfield.

Liverpool make initial contact with Xabi Alonso

Frank may be edging closer to the sack in N17, but ironically, it is the Premier League champions who are seeking out potential replacements for Slot.

The Dutchman has come under pressure after such a disappointing campaign this time around, despite his huge levels of success the first time around.

Fichajes reported on Sunday that the Anfield hierarchy is willing to back the Dutchman until the end of the season, but is still considering alternatives.

Xabi Alonso has emerged as an initial target and have reached out to his circle to test the waters and see if he would be interested in a future move after he was sacked by Real Madrid.

The response from the Spaniard’s camp is said to be positive, with a move potentially possible in the coming weeks or months, depending on what happens with Slot.

That could prompt Liverpool to keep hold of their better players in January and allow their former midfielder to come in and have his own say on transfer dealings.

Robertson may fall into this bracket and see his Tottenham switch delayed until the Reds make a final decision on their head coach role.

Tottenham forced to overpay for late transfers as desperate situation now unfolds – Expert - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Tottenham are facing more problems than just Thomas Frank this month.

Spurs drew 2-2 against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday, as the Lilywhites once again dropped points in the Premier League.

Frank has been under major pressure, and the result has swirled even more rumours over who his successor at N17 could be.

Joe Lewis is prepared to spend over £100million in the transfer window, regardless of whether he keeps the Dane in charge or not.

However, Lewis could be learning all about the January transfer window the hard way this month.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham likely to overpay for transfers in desperate times

Spurs currently have multiple players injured, with Ben Davies the latest to be ruled out.

Mohammed Kudus suffered a big injury setback, which will keep him sidelined, possibly until April, with the need for a replacement now vital after Brennan Johnson’s exit.

Tottenham’s injury list:

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, finance expert Dan Plumley warned Spurs’ injury crisis could lead to overspending as other clubs will be monitoring the situation.

Plumley said: “The deal for Johnson was a good deal. But then, with the Kudus injury and other injuries, it certainly compounds the issues. They’ll look for James Maddison to come back, but that won’t be anytime soon.

“It does create that environment where clubs will know that you are under pressure. So when they go for deals like Conor Gallagher and others of that mix, clubs know your situation, and the price tag is likely to go up, and they’ll look to exploit it for their own gain.

“That then means you have to fork out a little more, and that comes down to the ownership structure, and what they want to do and what they are prepared to pay.”

Where do Tottenham need to improve the most?

There are multiple areas where the Lilywhites are light in numbers due to the players being out injured. Midfield in particular is starting to look worrying, but Conor Gallagher’s arrival should ease concerns.

Tottenham‘s defenders are the ones who currently keep popping up with goals at the moment, which suggests that Johan Lange and Co. should target forwards in the remaining time left of the window.

Tottenham have been heavily linked to Maghnes Akliouche, as the Frenchman could come to N17 and fill in for Kudus for the rest of the season.

If the Lewis family are to keep Frank around for longer, then the priority needs to be strengthening in attack.

Andy Robertson looks destined to join Tottenham before the end of the winter transfer window.

It was revealed on Friday that Tottenham had made a shock approach for Robertson and were moving to bring in the Scotland international.

Spurs had originally planned to pursue the left-back in the summer, with his Liverpool contract expiring at the end of this season, but they have now accelerated their interest.

Thomas Frank’s side could be able to sign Robertson for as little as £5million, and negotiations between all parties are continuing as the transfer deadline closes in.

Andy Robertson waves goodbye to Liverpool fans

Tottenham drew 2-2 with Burnley on what was a miserable Saturday for Frank, but the Dane may have cheered up slightly after what happened as Liverpool faced Bournemouth on the south coast.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Robertson was included in Arne Slot’s squad as the Premier League champions made the trip to Vitality Stadium, and was brought on at half-time with the visitors 2-1 down.

Dominik Szoboszlai eventually levelled the scores with 10 minutes remaining, before Amine Adli smashed home a dramatic late winner for Bournemouth.

According to Liverpool journalist Lewis Steele, Robertson appeared to give a little wave to the travelling Reds supporters before he exited the pitch.

The Tottenham-linked defender was the last player standing by the away end, in what could have been his final appearance for the Merseyside outfit.

Spurs fans will be hoping that it was a wave goodbye, and that Robertson will now be making the move to North London.

Why do Tottenham need Andy Robertson?

Tottenham completed the signing of Brazilian left-back Souza from Santos on Thursday, which makes their pursuit of Robertson slightly more confusing.

Souza will undoubtedly need time to settle into the Premier League though, while Robertson is ready to contribute immediately.

The Liverpool defender would also come in to replace Ben Davies, who suffered a broken ankle during Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham United last Saturday.

Robertson would not only provide Premier League experience and quality, but would also bring superb leadership to a currently weak Spurs side.

However, if Frank believes that the signing of a 31-year-old left-back will solve all his problems, he is very much mistaken.

It could be a busy final week in the winter transfer window for Tottenham.

Whether Thomas Frank will be leading the club into these final few days of the winter window remains unclear, after Tottenham drew 2-2 with Burnley on Saturday.

Many Tottenham fans are calling for Frank to be sacked following the draw at Turf Moor, which was so nearly a defeat had it not been for Cristian Romero‘s 90th -minute equaliser.

Regardless of whether it’s Frank or someone else in charge come the 2 February transfer deadline, there is a widely acknowledged need for new signings to be made at Tottenham ASAP.

Liverpool’s Andy Robertson has been strongly linked with Spurs, whilst on the flip side, we could still see a number of outgoings before the winter window slams shut too.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham backed to ‘give in’ as clubs circle defender

Sometimes, a means to an end in terms of improving a playing squad can be achieved by getting rid of deadwood.

Tottenham have already moved on from a number of players who they felt didn’t have a long-term future in N17 this month, with Bryan Gil, Brennan Johnson and Manor Solomon all having left.

Not only can it raise precious transfer funds that can be then redistributed on players primed to make bigger first-team impacts, but it can also remove obstacles in the way of young and emerging talents.

This is why it’s been suggested that Tottenham sell Radu Dragusin in order to give 17-year-old centre-back Jun’ai Byfield more opportunities to succeed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium moving forward.

And, this Dragusin exit to allow Byfield to progress scenario could well come to fruition, as a report from Tuttosport on Saturday suggests Tottenham may be ready to “give in” and sell the defender the closer to the deadline we get.

Dragusin is reportedly of interest to AC Milan, after failing to agree a deal with Roma despite looking set for the Italian capital earlier this week.

Milan’s sporting director, Igli Tare, is stated as holding Dragusin in “high regard”, and has already been in contact with the player’s representatives to discuss the frameworks of a deal.

It’s also suggested that Milan will indeed make a move for Dragusin in the final days of this winter window, with the hope being that Spurs will soften their stance.

A loan with an option to buy is detailed as being the expected offer from Milan, but it remains to be seen whether Tottenham will indeed decide to move on from the Romania international.

Radu Dragusin may feel he’s got unfinished business in Italy

Having been plucked from Regal Sport Bucharest by Juventus in 2018, Dragusin began his senior career with Juve.

But, after just a handful of first-team appearances in the 2020-21 season, he spent the next couple of years out on loan with three Italian sides: Sampdoria, Salernitana and Genoa respectively.

He eventually signed for Genoa permanently in the summer of 2023, but spent just 18 months there before joining Tottenham in January 2024 under Ange Postecoglou, who pushed for his signing.

Before coming to England, Dragusin was well on his way to establishing himself as a top centre-back in Serie A, and so he may well be very tempted to head back there to continue his progress, as he’s still only 23.

Tottenham are advancing in talks with Liverpool over a deal to sign defender Andy Robertson.

Reports emerged on Friday that Spurs had made an approach to Liverpool over a deal for Robertson.

Robertson is considered one of the finest left-backs in Premier League history, but he has struggled for starts at Anfield this season.

Liverpool appear open to letting Robertson join Tottenham before the winter transfer window closes on 2 February.

And the Scotland international’s whereabouts have now been revealed ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Bournemouth on Saturday evening.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Andy Robertson with Liverpool team ahead of Bournemouth clash

Signing Robertson, even at the age of 31, would be a transfer coup of sorts for Tottenham.

Conor Gallagher has also arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this month, meaning the squad is certainly stronger than it was at the turn of the year.

There is still work to be done for Robertson to join, however, and the full-back is with the Liverpool squad for their clash at the Vitality Stadium.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who also report that an outcome is expected to be reached between Spurs and Liverpool “in the next few days”.

Thomas Frank will hope to have Robertson as part of his squad by the time next weekend’s clash with Manchester City comes around.

Before that, Tottenham take on Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon and then head to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday.

How much will Tottenham pay Liverpool for Robertson?

Robertson has made 321 appearances in the Premier League for Hull City and Liverpool – the vast majority coming with the latter over the past nine years.

The defender is due to be out of contract in the summer, meaning he will be available for free in just five months’ time.

However, Spurs want to strike a deal now to have Robertson in their squad for the rest of the 2025-26 campaign.

And it is claimed in the same report that Spurs will pay around £5million to land Robertson early, which should still be considered good value for money from Spurs’ perspective.

Description

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha doesn’t have a release clause in his contract amid interest from Tottenham.

Spurs have their eyes on Nmecha and have been following him for a while, with the 25-year-old’s performances in the Champions League particularly impressive.

The Bundesliga outfit value the midfielder, who has six caps for Germany, at around £56million and won’t entertain any offer below their asking price.

Conor Gallagher has already moved to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from Atletico Madrid in the winter transfer window, and it will be interesting to see whether they can reinforce their engine room further before the 2 February deadline.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Borussia Dortmund look to fend off Tottenham interest in Felix Nemcha

Dortmund are planning to offer Nmecha a new contract to secure his future amid interest from Tottenham, according to Caught Offside.

The news outlet reports on 24 January that while several Premier League teams are monitoring the Germany international, the Bundesliga outfit are determined to keep him.

It’s been claimed that Spurs remain attentive to the midfielder’s situation at the Signal Iduna Park, with Manchester United expected to step up their pursuit in the summer.

Nmecha’s current contract at Dortmund expires in 2028, and it remains to be seen whether the German club can convince him to put pen to paper on a new deal.

Joao Palhinha’s future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is uncertain, and it would make sense for the North London outfit to plan for a potential future without him.

Spurs have Premier League solution if Felix Nmecha deal fails

Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has been linked with Tottenham, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them reignite their interest sooner rather than later.

There have been multiple reports of Spurs holding talks to sign Andy Robertson from the Reds, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them return to Anfield to discuss terms for the English midfielder.

Given the competition to sign Nmecha, the North London outfit will definitely need other options on their radar to bolster their midfield in the coming months.

There are also doubts over Thomas Frank’s future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and after what’s happened in the Premier League this season, quality additions are undoubtedly needed to get back on top.

It’s been a long six-and-a-half months since Tottenham sacked Ange Postecoglou.

Thomas Frank was nabbed from Brentford to replace the popular Aussie, who just weeks before his dismissal had led Spurs to their first piece of silverware in 17 years by winning the Europa League.

And even though the January transfer window is still open, we’re at a time where Frank could be axed and spark Tottenham‘s sixth search for a manager since Mauricio Pochettino left North London in 2019.

Ferencvaros manager Robbie Keane is currently the bookies’ favourite to replace Frank at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but for now, it seems as though the Dane will at least get the opportunity to manage Spurs in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.

As for Postecoglou, he’s already on the lookout for his second job since being axed by Daniel Levy, having already been hired and fired by Nottingham Forest in the autumn.

MORE SPURS STORIES

But Postecoglou’s hunt for employment does seem to be nearing a conclusion.

Odds slashed on Ange Postecoglou being next Celtic manager

Celtic have been through the wringer this season.

They saw Brendan Rodgers, who was linked with Spurs, resign in October, to be replaced by Martin O’Neill on an interim basis.

Wilfried Nancy was then hired as Rodgers’ permanent successor on 3 December, before being sacked on 5 January after securing the worst win ratio of any Old Firm manager in Scottish football history.

O’Neill is now back in situ until the end of the season, when Postecoglou is being primed to step in.

According to one major bookmaker, Postecoglou is now listed as a 7/1 contender to be the Bhoys’ next permanent boss. On 8 January, Postecoglou was listed at 8/1 to take charge at Celtic Park.

Roberto Martinez (6/5) is the current frontrunner for the Hoops job, followed by O’Neill at 9/4.

Celtic consider finances of Postecoglou return

There’s been an update on Postecoglou’s situation and Celtic’s commitment to re-hiring their former manager at the end of this season.

According to Football Insider on Tuesday, the ex-Spurs manager is on Celtic’s shortlist to be their next full-time boss, once O’Neill’s second interim stint is over.

It is understood that the out-of-work Australian is a “cost-effective” option for the reigning Scottish Premiership champions, as there won’t be any compensation fee needed to appoint him.

And the fact that Celtic don’t need a new manager until the summer matches up well with Postecoglou’s needs, with the 60-year-old seemingly wanting a break from management for the rest of the campaign.
