Tottenham have got a lot of things right this season, but there is one issue that they have been horrendously wrong on.

Tottenham invested a huge sum into the playing squad for their return to the Champions League, and their campaign in Europe is going well.

However, fans had become frustrated with the pricing for the home matches, feeling that the quality of the opposition has not reflected how expensive tickets were.

Tottenham have already announced a U-turn for the Borussia Dortmund clash, but more must be done.

Tottenham must realise what has gone wrong with Champions League pricing

John Wenham believes that Tottenham must reduce their pricing, as the fans already pay extortionate prices to attend league matches.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “I was at the game on Tuesday night, in my normal area, I’m in the South Stand, which is supposed to be the hardcore support, 17,000-seat stand.

“There was not a single regular season ticket holder around me, who had opted to buy their ticket, quite simply, because we already pay the most expensive tickets in the league, and they are asking for an additional £60 for Slavia Prague at home.

“It is just not realistic, the club have to realise, by reducing the prices, even to say £30 or £40, you then fill out the stadium, all those people attending are spending more money on food, drinks, merchandise, whatever it is, and the club makes more money overall.

“I hope that they have learnt their lesson from this, I will give them some credit, originally when the Borussia Dortmund game ticket prices came out, it is scheduled for 20 January, and they were category A prices, in my seat, that would have been £80, they have realised from the attendances from the Prague, Villarreal and Copenhagen games, that they aren’t selling the seats.

“They have reduced the prices to category B for Dortmund, and I think that is right, they are not Real Madrid, Bayern Munich or Barcelona, so I think that is the correct call, so at least they have realised that, but the pricing on the whole has just been wrong for this whole Champions League campaign.

“The level of teams we have played in the home games are basically Europa League teams, I think it would have been wise to offer some sort of package, maybe £100 but that covers all four games, that would have guaranteed bums on seats, or maybe some sort of flexible pricing, to encourage people to bring their kids to the games to attract the next generation of fans.”

Tottenham need to get supporters back on board

The relationship with Spurs and their fans has finally started to be rebuilt after Daniel Levy’s departure, with the businessman being the main reason for the frustration from a huge portion of the fanbase.

However, they risk things becoming toxic again, if the tickets remain at the level that they have been, luckily, it seems as though they have listened, after the Dortmund developments.

Every word MOTD said about Thomas Frank’s position as Tottenham manager after crushing loss vs Nottingham Forest

Thomas Frank is once again under severe pressure as Tottenham manager.

Spurs crashed to an embarrassing 3-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, with fans leaving the City Ground wanting change.

Guglielmo Vicario was the villain, not for the first time this season, with his distribution and terrible judgment behind nearly all of the goals.

It was that bad that the Lewis family was even told to throw as much money at Jürgen Klopp to try to appoint the German icon in North London before Christmas.

But, where does that leave Frank?

What is going wrong at Tottenham?

Frank spoke about Ange Postecoglou before the defeat at Nottingham Forest, and he officially has fewer points than the Australian did at this stage last season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Speaking on BBC Match of the Day 2 on 14 December, Kelly Cates kick-started the Tottenham section immediately with the main topic of Frank’s future.

“It’s another defeat for Tottenham,” she started. “They seem to have sorted out their home form, and now their away form is suffering.

“But, they seem like they’re only ever an enormous amount of pressure being put on Thomas Frank, and he seems to accept that’s the situation as Spurs manager.”

Joe Hart then responded to questions over Frank’s future in North London, being asked if he expects that every time points are dropped now.

“I think it’s just the manner of defeat that they’ve been struggling,” he said.

“When they have lost, they’ve been really poor. You look at the Arsenal game, look at the Chelsea game, here today. They’ve got quality, and they’ve got good performances, they’re doing well in Europe, they’re doing good numbers in Europe.”

“When they play well, for example, they beat Brentford with a fantastic performance, but when they lose, they lose badly.

“We all know when you’re at the top, a team like Tottenham, there can be pressure.”

Thomas Frank at Tottenham – What do the numbers say?

Tottenham are currently 11th in the Premier League, sitting on 22 points.

With only a four-point gap to the top five, things aren’t all as bad as they seem, but it’s the performances that are being delivered each week that are a huge concern.

Xavi Simons continues to flop despite big money being spent, and experienced heads simply aren’t delivering performances that help anyone.

Frank has won 10 and drawn six of his 25 games in all competitions, but those nine defeats are way too many.

Spurs still can’t compete against the big clubs, suffering embarrassing defeats to Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain already this season.

The problem Frank faces is that his players will show up occasionally, as proven by Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Manchester City earlier in the season.

If Frank wants to keep his job, he has to get his players performing consistently, but that has been a problem at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for years, not just this season.

Tottenham are unlikely to sack Frank at this moment, given the huge push to sack Postecoglou after he claimed the Europa League, but patience is wearing very thin.

This can’t go on for too much longer.

Brendan Rodgers is increasingly likely to replace Thomas Frank as the Tottenham Hotspur manager.

Spurs suffered a shock 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Sunday, leaving them in the Premier League’s bottom half ahead of the final game week before Christmas.

Frustrations spilt over in Tottenham’s defeat at the City Ground, with full-back Djed Spence openly questioning Frank’s in-game decision to substitute him off for Ben Davies.

It’s left many thinking that Spurs’ only option is to now sack Frank, even though he only arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer to replace Ange Postecoglou.

Thomas Frank now leads Premier League sack race

Due to Spurs’ crushing defeat in the East Midlands, Frank‘s future has been called into question.

MORE SPURS STORIES

One major bookmaker has slashed the odds on him being the next Premier League manager to leave his post to 2/1, replacing previous favourites Daniel Farke and Scott Parker.

Tottenham have just one win in their last seven Premier League outings, which was their 2-0 win over Frank’s former club Brentford on 6 December

Since taking charge at the North London club in the summer, the Dane has overseen just six league victories and, worryingly, at this stage last season, Postecoglou’s Spurs had one more point.

Brendan Rodgers odds slashed but Oliver Glasner still favourite for Tottenham job

Former Celtic, Liverpool and Leicester manager Rodgers is seemingly in the frame to replace Frank in charge of Spurs if the London club’s board pull the trigger on the ex-Brentford boss.

Rodgers’ odds have been slashed to 8/1 by one bookie, who has Crystal Palace’s manager Oliver Glasner (5/1) listed as the current favourite for the job.

Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola are also joint-favourites alongside Rodgers, while Roberto De Zerbi and Michael Carrick (both 12/1) are among the more realistic outside bets.

Rodgers has been out of work since resigning as Celtic manager in October.

The 52-year-old Northern Irishman has managed 312 Premier League matches, boasting a solid 44 per cent win-rate across spells at Swansea, Liverpool and Leicester.

Thomas Frank’s sacking at Tottenham may now be inevitable as the Dane’s reign at Spurs continues to take a downturn.

Tottenham were battered 3-0 against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday.

It was a humiliating scoreline, with Guglielmo Vicario once again making a costly mistake for Spurs.

The result now leaves Tottenham on just 22 points and 11th in the Premier League table.

Now, with Frank already under pressure at Spurs, his sacking may be the only option.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham have worst points total after 16 matches since the 2008-09 campaign

Plenty of grim stats have now emerged since the Nottingham Forest defeat.

However, perhaps the worst is the comparison of their points total after 16 matches to previous seasons.

After 16 matches, 22 points in the Premier League is the least Tottenham have had since the 2008-09 campaign.

This is simply diabolical, and shows that Frank is out of his depth at the North London club.

Despite the failings of last season under Ange Postecoglou, the team is more than capable of reaching European qualification through the league.

Yet, Spurs currently appear destined for a lower-half finish, or perhaps worse if this form continues.

Therefore, sacking the former Brentford boss may be Tottenham’s only option if they want to save their season and qualify for Europe.

Nottingham Forest 3-0 Tottenham – Key stats

Unfortunately, there are plenty of stats that further damn the performance at the City Ground.

As a result of the defeat, Forest have now beaten Spurs in three consecutive Premier League matches.

Since the start of last season, Tottenham are the only side in the division that have lost three times in the league to the East Midlands side.

However, perhaps a more worrying stat is on the goal front.

Going into the game, Spurs were the only Premier League outfit this season to score in each of their away matches.

This has helped Tottenham win numerous points on the road, which has been vital given their awful home form.

However, against Forest, this came to an end in dreadful fashion, as they managed just one shot on target.

This was only the third time since the 2022-23 campaign that they’ve recorded one or fewer in an away match in the competition.

Djed Spence rightly annoyed as Thomas Frank makes terrible decision in dreadful Tottenham defeat - tottenhamhotspurnews.com

Thomas Frank had a nightmare afternoon as Tottenham were soundly beaten away to Nottingham Forest.

Frank beat former side Brentford 2-0 at home last week and accentuated the merits as Spurs beat Slavia Prague 3-0 in the Champions League midweek.

But if he thought his side had turned a corner after back-to-back wins it was a return to the worst of the Dane’s reign on Sunday afternoon at the City Ground as Sean Dyche’s men strolled to a 3-0 win, in large part thanks to an error-strewn performance from the visitors.

Guglielmo Vicario was at fault for both of Callum Hudson-Odoi’s goals, bringing the spotlight back onto the Tottenham keeper after his error in the loss to Fulham a fortnight ago, while nobody was on top form throughout the line-up.

And Frank also managed to irritate Djed Spence, one of the few who looked like they were even properly focused on the day, with a particularly ill-judge substitution that should call the manager’s judgement into question.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spence confused as Frank turns to Ben Davies

Tottenham were already 2-0 down when Frank made changes, as he’d waited until just inside an hour before deciding on a triple-substitution.

Despite not threatening John Victor in the Forest goal at all and needing to chase the game it was surprisingly a like-for-like swap of a defender and both the central midfielders that was opted for.

Spence’s number went up first as he was removed for Ben Davies, even though the England international had been energetic up and down the left.

He was visibly bemused as he headed towards the bench, pulling a face to show his annoyance and appearing to ask “why?” before shaking his head in disappointment and applauding both sets of fans.

Spence, along with Micky van de Ven, were accused of snubbing Frank as they left the pitch at the end of the 1-0 loss to Chelsea at the start of November, after which the manager said both had apologised and hadn’t meant any disrespect.

This time there was a lot less scope for misunderstanding, and Frank was asked about it after the game, with Spence also reported to have been throwing his jacket after going off.

The ex-Bees boss said: “You’re the third one that said that to me today. I didn’t see it. Of course I will look back to be aware of it. I think there can be three reasons. He can be disappointed with his own performance, the team’s performance, he can be disappointed with being subbed off. I’ll ask him about that.”

Spence right to be annoyed by Davies switch

It’s easy to point fingers at a player appearing to show attitude towards a manager, but surely few would disagree with Spence’s frustration at the City Ground.

He might not have been outstanding by his own standards, but certainly wasn’t central to the issues that had put his side two down, or the ones that made the chances of clawing back the deficit in attack look non-existent at the time.

Davies has been a great servant for Spurs over the years but you’d be hard pressed to find many supporters who would put him down as the answer as the Forest game was slipping away.

And indeed he didn’t make a real difference or improve on what Spence had offered, with his most notable involvement conceding a corner under no pressure soon after coming on following a miscommunication with the embattled Vicario.

Statistically Davies, arguably, may have been marginally better defensively than Spence, although only just, but in terms of attacking threat or production with the ball he was far inferior.

No shots, no crosses, no dribbles, no free kicks won – not what Davies is known for and not what Tottenham needed, so Spence won’t have been the only person frowning at the fourth official’s board and asking “why?” he was being replaced.

Frank can’t help individual errors, although he arguably could prevent Vicario making key mistakes by taking him out of the team.

It looked like Spurs needed to change something at the break whilst just a goal behind after a half where they were second best, but the manager decided not to and was punished when Vicario’s second gaffe doubled the deficit.

He was also burnt in exactly the same way when Ibrahim Sangare scored the third moments before Frank finally planned to bring on some different attacking options with just 10 minutes to go, and his bemused expression on the touchline after going three down will do nothing to reduce critics’ views that he is out of his depth.

Being critical of Spence’s performance when answering questions about the reaction also won’t do anything to fix any issues that are present in their relationship, and it’s hard not to be on the player’s side in this instance after a bad loss where Frank has surely got more to answer for than the left-back.

Staggering Jurgen Klopp appointment claim made at Tottenham as Thomas Frank pressure grows

Thomas Frank is a man under growing pressure at Tottenham following Sunday’s terrible defeat at Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham were beaten 3-0 by Forest at the City Ground on a day in which Guglielmo Vicario produced a horror show and too many others failed to turn up.

Spurs’ midweek win over Slavia Prague and last week’s triumph over Brentford has relieved some of the pressure on Frank.

However, there are fresh calls for the Dane to be sacked as Tottenham have their lowest points tally at this stage of a season since 2008-09.

And former Spurs chairman and part-owner Alan Sugar has now called on the North London club to appoint Jurgen Klopp.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Alan Sugar calls on Joe Lewis to hire Jurgen Klopp

Emotions were running high in the aftermath of Spurs’ loss in the East Midlands, with Sugar perhaps speaking on behalf of most fans when calling for a change.

Frank is no stranger to sack talk at Tottenham, and it may well be that time is running out on the basis of the defeat to Forest.

Spurs are failing to win many games and are playing a style of football that supporters just cannot get behind.

Taking to X after the match, Lord Sugar posted: “With the massive fortune of the Lewis family, it would be a win-win situation if they hired Jurgen Klopp in January. Loads of money for players and a great manger.“

Frank was only appointed by Spurs in the summer, taking over from the sacked Ange Postecoglou on a three-year deal.

Jurgen Klopp has already spoken out on managing another Premier League club

Klopp stepped down as Liverpool manager in the summer of 2024, with the Reds going on to win the Premier League title in their first campaign under Arne Slot.

The German would of course be an instant upgrade on Frank, but there is absolutely not chance of it happening. That is what makes Sugar’s call pretty staggering.

Speaking upon leaving Liverpool, Klopp said: “What I know definitely – I will never, ever manage a different club in England than Liverpool, 100 per cent.

“That’s not possible. My love for this club, my respect for the people is too big. I couldn’t. I couldn’t for a second think about it. There’s no chance.“

Klopp has very much closed the door on ever managing a team other than Liverpool in English football.

While the former Borussia Dortmund manager is not an option, though, that is not to say there are not others out there the Lewis family could go for.

Right now it is becoming quite clear Frank is not the man for Spurs. The sooner he is given his marching orders, the better for all concerned.

Guglielmo Vicario horrendous as Thomas Frank hooks unhappy bright spark – Tottenham player ratings vs Nottingham Forest

Tottenham were dreadful as they squandered any momentum from back-to-back wins in falling to a 3-0 loss at Nottingham Forest.

In what would have been Tottenham’s reunion with Ange Postecoglou, before he was sacked and replaced by Sean Dyche, the home side made the better start and hit the post through Ibrahim Sangare’s header.

Callum Hudson-Odoi would open the scoring inside half an hour thanks to a calamity between Archie Gray and Guglielmo Vicario, as the keeper passed out to the youngster who was immediately robbed from behind by Sangare who advanced into the area and squared for an open goal.

A bad afternoon got worse early in the second half as Hudson-Odoi scored his second with a cross that caught out Vicario and went straight in at the back post, for the exact opposite sort of reaction Thomas Frank would have been looking for.

Then, just as Frank was finally about to bring some new attackers Hudson-Odoi turned provider as he laid it off for Sangare to smash a third in off the post from outside the box to make the result safe.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Guglielmo Vicario horror show at City Ground

Vicario took a lot of heat for his error in defeat against Fulham, which sparked controversy with supporters for Frank and Pedro Porro.

The Italian had another nightmare against Forest as he played a major part in both Hudson-Odoi’s goals.

He could share the blame with Gray for the opener, although the Englishman could at least argue he had his back to the danger, whereas the keeper should have seen the ball wasn’t on with Sangare bearing down just outside the box.

The second not only derailed whatever Frank’s team talk at the break would have asked for but got Forest and their fans back in the groove amid frustration at the officials, and the blame was all his as he misjudged the flight of the cross and was caught under the ball as it sailed into the net.

Vicario is thought to want to leave Tottenham for Serie A and this outing won’t have done anything to change that, as his confidence looked to be affected judging by a miscommunication with Ben Davies soon after the left-back came on.

Spurs were flat across the board at the City Ground and few players were on their game, but without a pair of massive errors they might have still managed to get something out of this.

Djed Spence unhappy to be removed

On a day where the collective performance was pretty dismal and had shades of Tottenham‘s limp loss to Chelsea or the capitulation as Eberechi Eze scored a hat-trick in the North London derby, nobody exactly shone.

Mohammed Kudus was direct early but faded as the going got tough, while Randal Kolo Muani had some exciting runs where he beat multiple players before running up a dead end and losing possession, but there was barely a Man of the Match to speak of.

Most concerning around Frank, who will likely be facing more doubts over his long-term suitability after this, was the fact that the first player he decided to remove when chasing the game was arguably the sharpest performer in Djed Spence.

The left-back was one of the few in yellow who was actually putting a shift in up and down the flank, and certainly wasn’t close to the biggest issue on the pitch.

His irritated reaction towards the Tottenham bench as his number was held up and Ben Davies waited to come on said it all, as the Englishman can justifiably feel unfortunate to be first off.

It was a dreadful day all round for Spurs here, and after Spence’s apparent snub of Frank along with Micky van de Ven caused yet another issue after the Chelsea defeat it will hardly boost the defender’s relationship with the manager to be the first change when most of his teammates deserved it more.

‘Really, really frustrating’ – Ex-Tottenham player backs Nottingham Forest outrage at referee

Morgan Gibbs-White was backed live by a Sky Sports pundit amid outrage towards the officials as Nottingham Forest took on Tottenham.

Tottenham took on Sean Dyche’s Forest after ex-Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou was sacked earlier this season, and the home side dominated the first half.

Ibrahim Sangare had already hit the post when he robbed Archie Gray as the youngster was receiving a hospital pass from Guglielmo Vicario 28 minutes in, squaring for Callum Hudson-Odoi to tap home.

The first 45 ended with a chorus of boos raining down from the home fans though as fury built up towards the officials, sparked in large part by a glaring error from Thomas Bramall and his assistants after 38 minutes.

Andy Reid backs Morgan Gibbs-White shock vs Tottenham

As a cross came over into the Tottenham box from the Forest right Gibbs-White attempted to flick it towards goal between his legs, but didn’t get a proper contact on it.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Instead Rodrigo Bentancur unwittingly performed the same move right behind him and the ball rolled narrowly wide of the far post for what looked like an obvious corner, only for Bramall to award a goal kick.

Gibbs-White raced towards the official as thousands of supporters roared in outrage at the error, but to no avail, and Andy Reid backed the negative emotions.

Reacting live on the Sky Sports match commentary the ex-Spurs and Forest midfielder said: “These are the ones that the players get really, really frustrated at. And you can understand as well.

“Everybody in the ground could see that’s come off a Tottenham player out for a corner, just expecting the referee to point to the corner flag and he points for a goal kick.

“They’re really, really frustrating ones for players and for coaches. They’re the simple ones. The referee’s looking at it, should get that right.”

Vicario and Gray self-destruct

Tottenham’s win at home against Brentford last week, backed up by a Champions League win over Slavia Prague had settled some of the growing chaos for Thomas Frank.

But there was zero in terms of momentum in the first half at the City Ground as Forest were by far the better side.

Even so Spurs helped make it easy for them as Vicario and Gray’s nightmare moment handed them the opener on a plate, with the midfielder apparently unaware of his surroundings as Sangare was close behind him, and the keeper gave him the ball in trouble anyway.

They were hardly the only Tottenham players being careless in possession as Xavi Simons was at least one other who saw an aimless pass in his own half intercepted to almost put his side in danger.

Frank needs a seriously-improved performance from his players to get back into this and avoid more questions springing up around his job heading into Christmas.

Everything Thomas Frank said about Ange Postecoglou ahead of Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham

Thomas Frank has given his true opinion about former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou.

Postecoglou was sacked by Tottenham after a shocking year in the Premier League, as he led them to a 17th-placed finish last season, despite the Europa League success.

Thomas Frank replaced Postecoglou in N17 over the summer, and he has made a mixed start to the season, with the Lilywhites sitting 11th.

It wasn’t long before the Aussie was back in management, but his disastrous spell at Nottingham Forest lasted just 39 days as he was sacked on 18 October after a dismal winless run.

Ahead of Tottenham’s trip to Nottingham Forest on Sunday, Frank heaped praise on the Australian manager, who was replaced by Sean Dyche.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Thomas Frank full of admiration for Ange Postecoglou

Postecoglou ended Tottenham’s 17-year trophy drought by helping them lift the Europa League trophy in May.

He has remained a beloved figure in N17, and Frank was quick to show his appreciation.

In quotes shared by the Sunday Mirror, he said: “I don’t know him personally, but I hope he comes back. He clearly loves being a coach, so I always hope good coaches come back.

“Ange has been a successful Spurs manager in many ways. They had a very good first Premier League season, and he won the Europa League as well.

“There are a lot of circumstances about why things are good and why things are bad. I don’t think it’s my job to go into details about that.”

Postecoglou has also been linked with the Leeds and Fulham jobs in the recent past, and he must surely be looking for a return to management.

Thomas Frank claims he needs to build on Ange Postecoglou’s achievements

The Australian manager’s record at Forest hasn’t deterred clubs from being interested in his services, and his unique style of play could be of interest to Fulham.

Postecoglou replaced Nuno Espirito Santo to implement his expansive style of play, but failed to win any of his eight matches in charge at the City Ground.

As the Premier League becomes more physical, there is a heavier reliance on set pieces, which is something that the 60-year-old never paid much attention to.

Of course, Frank still has a lot of work to do to prove himself to the Tottenham fans, with Postecoglou currently averaging a higher win percentage in N17.

“The only thing I can say is that Postecoglou is a legend and always will be,” he ended.

“He won a massive trophy; he was a big part of that, and we all stand on the shoulders of others. I stand on his shoulders, and now I’m trying to build on that.”

It must start with a Tottenham win over Forest on Sunday.

Luca Williams-Barnett among duo set for Tottenham contract after 'outstanding' academy developments - tottenhamhotspurnews.com
Description

Luca Williams-Barnett is one of the most promising talents to emerge at Tottenham in recent years.

Williams-Barnett made his Tottenham debut in the Carabao Cup win over Doncaster in September, in a three-minute cameo and regularly stars for the youth team.

He is definitely on the radar of Thomas Frank, and even made the first-team bench for the senior Champions League clash with Slavia Prague.

Now, his progress looks set to be rewarded, with Spurs keen to keep him around at Hotspur Way.

Tottenham set to tie down two youth gems after Slavia Prague scenes

John Wenham, who is an expert when it comes to the youth teams in N17 has shared an update on professional contracts for Williams-Barnett and Tynan Thompson after the UEFA Youth League win over Slavia Prague.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The duo were both among the goals as Tottenham’s youth brushed the Czech side aside with a 9-1 victory on 9 December.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “We had a fantastic win on Tuesday in the UEFA Youth League, beating Slavia Prague’s Under-19s 9-1.

“What was notable about that was Slavia Prague, at the academy level, are no mugs, they have beaten Arsenal and scored five goals against them this season.

“They have also had some other impressive results, and they are a decent side, but when I saw Tottenham’s team on the day, I mentioned it as soon as the team news came out, it looked incredibly stacked, in terms of five or six England youth internationals in the team.

“You have got Luca Williams-Barnett, Luca scored five goals on the day, he is not a striker, which sort of tells you the level he is playing at right now.

“He is playing at a level similar to Mikey Moore, who is on loan at Rangers now, where he is completely dominant in youth football.

“Tynan Thompson grabbed a hat-trick, another player that Thomas Frank has already looked at in pre-season, Jun’ai Byfield was back after his broken hand, he was rewarded with a professional contract for the first time.

“They have qualified for the knockout stages, they finished ninth in the 36-team table, some big teams have not qualified, the likes of Bayern Munich, Napoli, Juventus, Newcastle and Arsenal are out of the competition.

“Tottenham will fancy themselves, for me, they are probably a striker and a centre-midfielder short at that level, for me to confidently sit here and say I think we will win that competition, but I think they will go far, purely based on they have got some outstanding talents.

“Really promising from Tottenham at the moment, and the fact that Byfield signed a new contract, I believe professional contracts are in the offing for Williams-Barnett pretty imminently and Thompson as well.”

Tottenham need to give Williams-Barnett an opportunity

The likes of Williams-Barnett and Thompson need to know that there is a route to first-team football in North London.

They are clearly far too good to be playing youth football long-term, and Frank needs to hand them more chances in the near future.

The fact that they seem willing to sign new deals to remain in N17, suggests that they have been assured that there will be opportunities to progress.
