Description

Tottenham fans were wearing smiles on North London's streets this afternoon as they headed to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - despite fighting for their place in the Premier League.

Roberto De Zerbi has reaffirmed he will be in charge of Tottenham next season and urged his squad to embrace the pressure of today’s relegation decider with Everton.

Spurs start the final day of the Premier League season in 17th spot and two points above West Ham, who are at home to Leeds and must win to have any chance of staying up.

De Zerbi promised to be in charge of Tottenham for the 2026-27 campaign “no matter what” upon his arrival in March and even though his team slipped into the bottom three before a debut defeat at Sunderland, a run of eight points out of six games has put the north London club in control of their destiny on the final day.

“Yes, I confirm everything. For me, it’s still an honour to be a coach for Tottenham, even if on Sunday we play for the relegation fight. It’s not a problem. I consider football something more than the table, than the level of the game,” De Zerbi reflected.

“Every one of us, we are fighting for the future of Tottenham."

The unusual item banned from West Ham game against Spurs - security will confiscate it - My London
Description

The move is part of 'increased security activity'

Ahead of their derby against Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United have banned one popular item from their grounds. Half-and-half scarves will not be allowed into the London Stadium this evening. The two teams are facing each other at 5.30pm, in a day that also includes games at Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Brentford.

West Ham United said the ban on half-and-half scarves, which traditionally feature the logos of both teams playing in a split design, is 'for the safety of all supporters and to prevent any fans of the away club from gaining access to home sections of the stadium'. They said there will also be 'additional checks at turnstiles, restrictions on half-and-half scarves or items illustrating the colours/crests of both clubs and steps to ensure home areas remain for West Ham United fans only', according to the BBC.

They added: "Supporters who have purchased half-and-half scarves from unofficial sellers will be required to hand them over to security staff at the security checkpoints and these scarves will not be returned."

Tottenham currently sits fourth in the Premier League table. While their biggest rivalry is Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham have been fierce opponents in recent years. Their last meeting, in the previous Premier League season, resulted in a 1-1 draw, and new Spurs manager Thomas Frank has yet to face the East London team as head of the Lilywhites.

The Hammers have had a tumultuous start to the season, and are currently 16th, with only four teams below them. They lost their first two games of the season against Sunderland and Chelsea 3-0 and 5-1 respectively, but managed a 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest more recently.

Post Malone cancels Tottenham Hotspur gigs as Tube strikes made it 'impossible' - My London
Description

London Underground strikes this September have forced the cancellation of Post Malone's Tottenham Hotspur gigs

Post Malone’s upcoming London concerts have been rescheduled after Tube strikes made it impossible for the events to go ahead as planned. The US singer was due to perform at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 7 September and Monday 8 September 2025, but both shows have now been moved.

Live Nation confirmed in a statement: “We’re sorry to announce that, due to planned strikes on the London Underground, we’ve been forced to reschedule the two Post Malone concerts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Without a Tube service, it’s impossible to get people to the concert and home again safely, and therefore no event licence can be granted for the nights of 7th and 8th September.”

The new dates are:

Sunday 7 September show → Saturday 20 September

Monday 8 September show → Sunday 21 September

Tickets and refunds

All existing tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates. Fans who cannot attend will be able to claim a full refund by contacting their point of purchase before 10am BST on Monday 8 September . Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 14–21 days , depending on the bank. Any returned tickets will be released for general sale at 10am BST on Tuesday 9 September , exclusively via Ticketmaster.

Fans saw it coming

Concerns had already been growing among fans in the run-up to the concerts. On social media, one person warned: “Anyone attending Post Malone in London on the 7th and 8th September the tubes are ALL on strike! Putting this out there so people can make plans cause damn it’s a sh*t time for it to happen… hope everyone can still make it.” Another posted: “They are going to affect it, no one can get there. He needs to reschedule!!!”

Others shared their frustration at potentially missing the shows, with one fan writing: “I can’t go anymore because of the strike! I’m heartbroken!” It comes as Coldplay were forced to move their Wembley Stadium shows because of licensing issues linked to the Tube strike.

'I’m heartbroken': Post Malone fans panic as London Underground strikes clash with Tottenham Hotspur shows - My London
Description

Post Malone fans are in limbo as looming Tube strikes threaten to derail the US star’s two sold-out London concerts next week. The rapper-singer is due to perform at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 7 and 8 September , but the same dates fall right in the middle of a London Underground shutdown running from 7 to 11 September .

For thousands of ticket-holders, it’s causing a mix of frustration and panic. One fan posted on X: “Anyone attending Post Malone in London on the 7th and 8th September the tubes are ALL on strike! Putting this out there so people can make plans cause damn it’s a sh*t time for it to happen… hope everyone can still make it.” Another said: "I'm praying it still goes ahead. But we need clarity"

Another was even blunter: “They are going to affect it, no one can get there. He needs to reschedule!!!” And for many, it means they now can't get to the gig. One person wrote: "I can’t go anymore because of the strike! I’m heartbroken!"

The concern isn’t unfounded. Just last week, Coldplay were forced to move their Wembley gigs , with organisers saying it was “impossible” to transport 82,000 fans without Tube services. So far, Ticketmaster has reassured fans and said that any changes that are made to the event - all ticket holders will be contacted via email'. MyLondon has contacted the organiser of the Post Malone gigs about whether they are going ahead, but is yet to receive a reply.

But rescheduling would be tricky. With Tottenham Hotspur now in the middle of their football season , the stadium has a packed calendar of fixtures, leaving little wiggle room for extra concerts. That means Post Malone fans could be facing a wait-and-see situation right up until the last minute.

As of now, both shows are still scheduled to go ahead . The final call will depend on safety and transport capacity—exactly the issue that forced Coldplay to change dates. Until then, fans are being told to plan ahead, leave extra time for travel, and keep an eye on their inbox for updates.

How to get to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Unlike Wembley, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium isn’t totally cut off when the Tube shuts down. So if the gig goes ahead, you have options.

White Hart Lane (London Overground) – right by the stadium and running as normal, with connections to Liverpool Street.

Northumberland Park (Greater Anglia) – about a 10-minute walk, also open during strikes, linking to Liverpool Street.

Seven Sisters (Victoria Line / Overground) – usually a handy option, but the Tube won’t be running from here. Overground services should still operate, though expect big crowds.

The Elizabeth line, London Overground and trams are all expected to run, but they’ll be jam-packed with diverted Tube passengers.

Angela Rayner takes on Tottenham Hotspur in bid to force through 3k new homes near stadium - My London
Description

Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner has taken action to allow nearly 3,000 homes to be built near Tottenham Hotspur's stadium. The Government has put together an expert team to pave the way for the Tottenham development named High Road West.

In 2023 Spurs lost a legal battle against Haringey Council after plans were approved to build 2,929 homes in blocks up to 29 storeys high outside the ground. The council says it will provide a range of public benefits including parks, commercial space, a new library and hundreds of social-rent homes.

Spurs claimed the council failed to lawfully assess the impact of development on the North Tottenham Conservation Area, as reported by the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS). This includes sites where the club has its own housebuilding plans, known as the Goods Yard and The Depot.

The club also claimed council officers had misled Haringey Council planning committee members about extra crowd control “burdens” it would face.

The failed legal challenge was not the only opposition which Haringey Council and developer Lendlease faced. Residents whose homes would be bulldozed to make way for the scheme also spoke out against it, according to the LDRS.

To ensure development gathers pace in High Road West, Ms Rayner in her role as Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government has earmarked it alongside five other sites across the UK where obstacles have got in the way. Another one of these sites is Billet Road in Redbridge where plans for 1,000 new homes have been disrupted by pollution concerns due to much of the area being on a former landfill site.

On all six sites, which already have approval, the government will tackle specific problems to unlock 12,000 new homes.

Deputy Prime Minister and Housing Secretary, Angela Rayner said: "We’ve rolled up our sleeves and are breaking down the barriers which stop us from building the houses to buy and rent that families and young people need, helping to speed up the delivery of tens of thousands of new homes already.

"We are continuing to take decisive action through our New Homes Accelerator to speed up the delivery of homes, meet our stretching 1.5 million homes target through the Plan for Change, and get spades in the ground to turn the tide on the housing crisis."

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said he is pleased the government is working with London boroughs to unlock housebuilding. He added: "I’m determined to use all the powers at my disposal to build the homes Londoners need and get Britain building again.

“I look forward to working with Ministers on the action and investment needed to accelerate the delivery of new homes as we continue building a better, fairer London for everyone.”

King shows off his passing skills as he visits home of Tottenham Hotspur

Description

The King was told he was “bigger than Beyonce” when he celebrated community projects boosted by a football stadium where the US superstar is staging her UK concerts. Charles visited the home of Tottenham Hotspur to highlight the Premier League club’s work supporting local businesses and good causes and its collaboration with America’s National Football League (NFL) which stages games at the arena.

During the visit the head of state could not resist throwing an American football under the watchful eye of the longest-serving British NFL player Efe Obada. Gina Moffatt, 48, an ex-offender who turned her life around with help form the King’s Trust, formerly the Prince’s Trust, now runs a successful restaurant in Tottenham employing 15 full time staff.

She told the King: “I’m so excited that you’re even back in Tottenham, this year’s looking all good, Tottenham Hotspur’s doing great stuff. We’ve got Beyonce coming but you’re bigger than Beyonce.”

The US superstar is due to perform at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in June, return performances for the singer who staged concerts at the venue a few years ago. Charles and his wife visited the area in 2011 after the Tottenham riots, a visit that was billed as the time as the then prince of Wales coming to listen to residents.

During the visit he met students from the London Academy of Excellence Tottenham, a state-funded high achieving sixth form located on the stadium campus and co-sponsored by Tottenham Hotspur, and chatted to other people supported by his trust. On the pitch he received a rapturous reception from dozens of school children and was handed an American football by Obada.

After Charles’ effort, Obada said: “I love the King’s energy and the fact he came here and got stuck in. His technique wasn’t immaculate, I wanted him to get a little closer to the target so he could get it in but he was having a great time and got a good reception.”

The cheapest hotels near Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Beyonce Cowboy Carter tour

Submitted by daniel on
Picture

Description

Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour is the biggest news in showbusiness since Oasis hit headlines with the announcement of their tour in August last year, and demand for the Lemonade singer's four shows at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 5, 7, 10 and 12 is expected to soar in similar fashion to the Mancunian super band, with presale tickets set to become available next week.

Eagle-eyed fans travelling from elsewhere in the UK may already have pinpointed the hotels nearest Tottenham Hotspur Stadium close to the action, with some already fully booked before even a single ticket for the show has been sold. The North London venue sits away from the sky-high prices of central London, meaning that remaining local hotel fees - if not wildly adjusted for Beyoncé's tour - could be reasonably affordable.

Taylor Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour led to the coining of the term 'Swiftonomics' to describe the rapid boom in profit for local businesses as a result of the tour, and no doubt many a Tottenham firm will be hoping for a slice of cake when Beyoncé comes to town. Here, we've rounded up a selection of accommodation near the stadium, including Premier Inns and Travelodges, where fans might be expected to gather, ready to hear Cowboy Carter's anthems performed live.

Premier Inn Tottenham Hale

Premier Inn Tottenham Hale may have been the obvious go-to for many a Beyoncé fan looking for a reasonably-priced hotel close to the stadium she will be performing in - and you might notice, I used the past tense. Unsurprisingly, the hotel is fully booked on all four nights Beyoncé performs in London. There is some availability on the nights in between the shows, suggesting that the Beyhive is indeed responsible for booking out the hotel - with the cheapest stay on June 11 priced at £204.

Travelodge Edmonton

Travelodge Edmonton is the nearest Travelodge to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Beyoncé fans looking to save a buck on a cheap hotel may be disappointed. At the time of writing, the hotel has some availability but prices already reflect the uptick impact of Queen Bey's visit. A stay on the first night of her shows on Thursday, June 5, comes in at £249.99 as the cheapest, non-refundable 'saver' option. Meanwhile, an overnight stay just two days earlier on Tuesday, June 3, is priced at just £79.99 - a difference of £170.

Cogie House, Tottenham

An overnight stay at 3-star Cogie House, otherwise known as "The 22" bed and breakfast on Stockton Road, Tottenham, might be one of the cheapest sleeps available at just £60 for a budget single room on June 5, while a double room will cost £80. Located within 3km of Tottenham Hale, the B&B is handy for local amenities and has WiFi and parking on-site. But guests have rated it just 4.6 out of 10 on average, with reviews describing is as "ok for the money", "passable", and "ok just for one night".

Premium Stays London, Tottenham

The Premium Stays London at 57 Napier Road, Tottenham has deluxe single rooms from £69 and £76, and double rooms from £82 and £91 on June 5. Unlike many homes converted into accommodation, Premium Stays has a whopping high customer rating that belies its budget prices - scoring a "superb" 9 out of 10 on average.

Paragraph Edmonton

Couples looking for a quality night's stay without breaking the bank could do well to check out Paragraph Edmonton, located at 19 Kendal Gardens, which has six doubles rooms available on June 5 - all for under £100. The quadruple room is the cheapest at £87, followed by five double rooms all between £92 and £94. The rooms are en-suite and equipped with WiFi, flatscreen TVs and ample parking, and they do not include breakfast.

Pembroke Road, Seven Sisters

Self-catering accommodation may be the cheapest option for Bey fans looking to cut costs while staying near Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. This apartment at 24 Pembroke Road, Seven Sisters, can house up to four people on June 5 for £180 - which works out at a neat £40 overnight stay for each person. An ideal solution for groups of friends or two couples travelling together, the apartment has a respectable rating of 8 out of 10 by users of Booking.com.

Romany Gardens, Walthamstow

Another budget stay just a few miles from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, this one bedroom apartment at Romany Gardens, Walthamstow, is available on June 5 priced at just £144 for two people. The apartment comes complete with kitchen and en-suite shower and toilet facilities, and it is rated an impressive 9.1 out of 10 by users on Booking.com.

Holiday Inn Express, Chingford

Travellers looking for a traditional hotel stay may feel more than comfortable at the Holiday Inn Express, Chingford, located just three and a half miles from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with a number of standard double rooms available for £280 on June 5. This retreat comes with all the creature comforts of a hotel stay, with free breakfast, while the hotel's location a short walk away from Walthamstow High Street and its amenities may be another card up its sleeve.
