Description

Tottenham have submitted a €70m (£60m) bid for Como midfielder Nico Paz, GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The North London side are on the lookout for late reinforcements to Thomas Frank’s squad and are believed to have identified Paz as a potential alternative to Eberechi Eze, who joined Arsenal on a four-year deal on Saturday.

Como have turned down Spurs’ initial bid for the 20-year-old midfielder, who wants to stay with the Serie A club this summer and has his sights set on a return to Real Madrid.

Paz departed the Spanish giants in the summer of 2024 to join Como, but Real will have the final say on his future, having inserted a clause giving them first refusal to match any offer from another club.

Romano claims Real also have a €10m (£8.6m) buyback clause they can activate in 2026 to bring Paz back to the club.

Tottenham Make Offer for Nico Paz

Romano, writing on X, revealed that Tottenham have seen their €70m bid for Paz rejected by Como, with the 20-year-old not looking to depart before the transfer deadline:

Paz enjoyed a promising debut 2024/25 season in Serie A, scoring six goals and providing nine assists in 35 appearances under head coach Cesc Fabregas.

The 20-year-old also started the new campaign strongly, scoring and assisting in Como’s 2-0 win over Lazio on Sunday, with Romano heavily praising the midfielder in his latest video:

“The player on the pitch is wonderful, assist today, wonderful. Go look at that goal, the free-kick scored against Lazio.

“This player is special already with the Argentinian national team, did fantastic already last season in Serie A, and now started in an incredible way.”

Tottenham are anticipating a busy end to the summer transfer window as they continue their pursuit of Manchester City winger Savinho.

The Lilywhites have seen all approaches for the 21-year-old rebuffed in the last two weeks but are expected to make another push before the deadline.

Frank’s side have started the Premier League campaign with two wins from two and next face Bournemouth at home on Saturday.

Exclusive: Tottenham 'Want to Advance Deal This Week' After Frank Agreement - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on securing an additional defensive presence in the final days of the summer transfer window after head coach Thomas Frank was given assurances by influential figures at Hotspur Way that the position would be strengthened, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Spurs have not been afraid to splash the cash as they prepare to return to the Champions League, with Mohammed Kudus being the most expensive acquisition after completing a £55million switch from West Ham United, and they have started the season with back-to-back wins over Burnley and Manchester City.

Luka Vuskovic has been the subject of loan interest from newly-promoted Bundesliga side Hamburg as the September 1 deadline edges closer, meaning that Frank could be left with fewer options at the heart of the backline, and Tottenham are in the market for fresh competition for places.

Spurs Seeking to Improve Options in Backline

Tottenham want to advance a deal to bring in a new defensive figure this week, according to GMS sources, after Frank came to an agreement with members of the hierarchy that they needed to improve their backline options when he was appointed as Ange Postecoglou's successor during the summer.

Although Kevin Danso has remained in north London, thanks to Spurs having an obligation to buy him for £21million following his initial loan switch from Lens, there is a strong desire to put regular centre-back pairing Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven under increased pressure.

GMS sources have been informed that Tottenham are intending to enter the market for another presence to improve their rearguard, despite starting the Premier League campaign with consecutive clean sheets, and they are eager to welcome a fresh face to the capital in the coming days.

Spurs' continued determination to secure another defender comes despite succeeding in tying captain Romero down to a new four-year contract which allows him to pocket £195,000-per-week, resulting in members of the recruitment department scouring the market for viable targets.

Influential figures at Tottenham are satisfied with the start they have made to the season despite missing out on Super Cup glory at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain, GMS sources have learned, but Frank is eager for the hierarchy to stick to the plan and secure at least one more reinforcement.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Tottenham Hotspur have been winning 47 duels, on average, per Premier League encounter this season

Frank Not Solely Focused on Eze Alternative

GMS sources have been told that Tottenham are very seriously looking at their shortlist of defenders and are hoping to make progress imminently as they are preparing to pinpoint their preferred target, meaning that they are not only seeking to bring in an alternative to Eberechi Eze.

Spurs were beaten to the acquisition of the England international earlier this week, thanks to Arsenal hijacking the move and securing his services after reaching a £67.5million agreement with Crystal Palace, leading to Frank remaining adamant that he wants to secure additional creativity.

But, despite other outlets suggesting that adding an attacking midfielder is Tottenham's sole focus, GMS sources understand that the north Londoners want to make progress in their attempts to bolster the backline in the next seven days to avoid having to do business on deadline day.

GMS sources recently revealed that Brazilian frontman Richarlison is not interested in leaving Spurs and has made his intentions clear to key decision-makers behind the scenes, but there is still time for there to be further incomings and outgoings as the September 1 cut-off point edges closer.

Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham Ready to Make New £60m+ Bid for ‘Unbelievable’ Star - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham are prepared to make an improved offer for Manchester City forward Savinho following Arsenal’s hijack of their pursuit of Eberechi Eze, GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The North London side remain keen on signing the 21-year-old Brazil international ahead of the transfer deadline and are expected to make another bid to test City’s resolve.

Pep Guardiola’s side have rebuffed all approaches from Spurs for Savinho in the last 10 days and have no intention of letting the ‘unbelievable’ forward depart with just over a week of the market left.

Tottenham are believed to be willing to improve their offer to over €70m (£60m) following their 2-0 victory over Man City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, which saw Thomas Frank’s side continue their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

Tottenham to Improve Offer for Savinho

According to Romano, Tottenham will ‘give one more try’ in their pursuit of Savinho after seeing all their approaches rebuffed by Man City in the last two weeks.

Savinho has missed the start of the 2025/26 season after picking up an injury in pre-season and is expected to return around the September international break.

The 21-year-old forward made 48 appearances for Man City last term following his move from Girona, scoring three goals and providing 13 assists.

He started 21 Premier League games in his debut campaign at the Etihad Stadium, with his only goal coming in the 2-0 win at Leicester in December.

Tottenham remain on the lookout for late attacking reinforcements following Eze’s decision to snub their long-standing interest and join Arsenal in a reported £68m move.

Frank’s side are eyeing new signings after former captain Son Heung-min’s departure to Los Angeles FC and James Maddison’s ACL injury, which could sideline him for the entire 2025/26 campaign.

Spurs were also without Dejan Kulusevski, who is recovering from a long-term knee injury, for their 2-0 win at Man City, as well as Radu Dragusin, Destiny Udogie and Yves Bissouma.

Forget Eze: Tottenham Must Hijack Move for 'Magical' Star After New Development - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham have the chance to get some revenge and hijack Crystal Palace's move to sign Leicester star Bilal El Khannouss this week, after he was left out of their squad to play Charlton on Saturday.

Thomas Frank's side put the disappointment of missing out on Eberechi Eze this week behind them as they claimed a sensational 2-0 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium thanks to goals from Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha.

But while their performance was top-class and they look like a formidable unit in their three games under the new boss, it's clear that he wants more additions in attack and they now have the perfect opportunity to get one back on their south London rivals.

Tottenham Can Hijack El Khannouss Deal

Spurs had reached an agreement with Crystal Palace to sign Eze in a deal worth in excess of £60m including add-ons, only for local rivals Arsenal to swoop in at the last minute and take the player to the Emirates instead.

It's the second time the Lilywhites have felt that they had a deal wrapped up for a number ten this summer, only for the rug to be pulled from under them at the final hurdly, following the Morgan Gibbs-White saga earlier in the window.

But now they have a chance to get a top talent in El Khannouss for half the price, and get their own back on Palace in the process too.

The Morocco international is expected to leave the Foxes this summer after their relegation to the Championship, and it seems as though he took a step closer to the exit door this weekend after Marti Cifuentes left him out of the squad for their win over Charlton.

It was reported earlier this week that Palace had agreed a deal with the player and club over a move to take him to Selhurst Park, but they were assessing all of their options before formally pulling the trigger.

But Spurs have held a long-term interest in the forward, dubbed a 'magician' by Jacek Kulig and 'phenomenal' by Breaking the Lines, and could now swoop to bring him in, with the terms of a deal already on the table.

The player would surely prefer to play Champions League football and play alongside the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Richarlison, Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski, that play in the Europa Conference League in a side who look set to lose their best players before the deadline passes.

With a deal reportedly set to cost around £32m, Spurs could splash the cash to bring in the talented playmaker to bolster their number ten position and spend the extra money saved on topping up their move for Savinho, who Frank also loves.

Tottenham Ready to 'Obliterate' Transfer Record for 'Elite' Forward

Tottenham Ready to 'Obliterate' Transfer Record to Sign Man City Star - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to 'obliterate' their transfer record to sign Man City star Savinho, who is pushing to join, according to TEAMtalk.

The Lilywhites have had a dream start to the season so far with back-to-back wins in the Premier League under new manager Thomas Frank, with victories over Burnley and Manchester City.

But the boss still wants to add more forward options to his squad following the departure of Heung-Min Son and a serious knee injury to James Maddison, but after failing in moves for Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze, they have now set their sights on Savinho.

Tottenham Ready to Break Club Record for Savinho

Savinho, who has been described as "extraordinary" by Pep Guardiola, has emerged as a top target for the north London club in recent weeks.

Spurs had agreed a deal with Crystal Palace to sign Eze this week only for local rivals Arsenal to swoop in and hijack the deal, while a move for Gibbs-White was all set earlier in the summer only for the player to make a U-turn and sign a new contract with Nottingham Forest instead after a legal dispute from the club.

Now the 'elite' Brazil international has emerged as the top target for Frank, and it's understood that Spurs are willing to 'obliterate' their club-record fee to get a deal over the line.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Savinho has three goals and 13 assists in 48 appearances for Man City after joining them for £31m in July 2024.

Tottenham are determined to sign two new forwards before the September 1st deadline according to the report, but so far a deal for Savinho has been blocked by Man City chiefs.

A bid worth around £40m was swiftly rejected by the Cityzens earlier this month, but now Spurs are ready to return with a bid worth around €85m including bonuses (£73.6m) to get a deal done. That would smash their transfer record, which is currently set at £65m from the Dominic Solanke move last summer.

Savinho is said to be open to moving to north London in order to play more regularly ahead of the World Cup, and it has now emerged that he is actively pushing to make the move happen. The 21-year-old didn't play in the game between the two sides on Saturday afternoon, with Guardiola explaining his absence as an injury.

Tottenham Want £300,000-a-Week Premier League Star After Eze Hijack

Tottenham Want £300,000-a-Week Premier League Star After Eze Hijack - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham are exploring a potential move for Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku following Arsenal’s hijack of their pursuit of Eberechi Eze, journalist Fraser Fletcher has revealed.

The North London side are looking to bolster their attacking options before the transfer deadline and have reportedly earmarked Nkunku as a strong alternative to Eze.

Eze snubbed long-standing interest from Spurs in favour of a return to his boyhood club Arsenal, with his reported £68m move now close to completion.

Tottenham are also pursuing a late deal for Manchester City winger Savinho, with a fresh round of talks anticipated in the coming days to try and seal an agreement.

Spurs Eyeing Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku

According to Fletcher, Tottenham have yet to make a formal approach for Nkunku, who is also being targeted by his former club RB Leipzig.

While there are indications the £300,000-a-week Frenchman would be open to a return to Germany, no significant club-to-club talks have materialised yet, leaving the door open for Spurs to hijack Leipzig’s pursuit.

Nkunku’s ability to play both up front and in attacking midfield makes him an ideal fit for Spurs, who have started the season without several key players in attack.

The Lilywhites have yet to welcome back Dejan Kulusevski following his knee injury in May and lost James Maddison to a potentially season-ending ACL setback earlier this month.

The North London side have also parted ways with former captain Son Heung-min, who left to join MLS side Los Angeles FC.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Nkunku scored 15 goals and provided five assists in 48 appearances for Chelsea last term.

Nkunku has no future at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca and is among the players expected to depart before deadline day, having struggled for regular minutes at Stamford Bridge last term.

While the Blues are ‘slightly reluctant’ to sell to a Premier League rival, the door is not closed for his late departure to Spurs, who are considering testing their London rivals’ resolve with an initial bid.

Tottenham have splashed out close to £100m on new arrivals this summer, including £55m on former West Ham attacker Mohammed Kudus, who assisted two goals in their 3-0 win over Burnley last weekend.

Manchester City 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur: Player Ratings and Match Highlights - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur beat a defensively shaky Manchester City 2-0 in their Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The home side shaded the early stages. After being put through by Erling Haaland, Omar Marmoush had a very presentable opportunity, but Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario saved well. Yet it was Spurs who had the ball in the net first. Richarlison broke down the flank and delivered into the path of Brennan Johnson, who smashed the ball home. VAR checked for offside, but the goal was given.

City's insistence on playing out from the back saw Spurs double their lead. James Trafford then played a pass inside his penalty area that Spurs intercepted. In an attempt to atone for his error, Trafford swiped the ball away from the path of Richarlison, but Palhinha hammered in the loose ball. Spurs went into the break 2-0 up, with City looking vulnerable at the back.

City had their moments in the second-half, but overall they struggled to put any cohesive attacks together. When they did have opportunities it was when Spurs were guilty of overplaying in their own penalty area.

With 15 minutes left, Pep Guardiola threw on Rodri and Phil Foden. It was Foden who was denied what appeared to be a certain goal when Micky van de Ven appeared from nowhere to tackle. City may have made many late comebacks at the Etihad, but it wasn't to be on this occasion as Spurs held on for a deserved victory.

Sky Sports: Tottenham Preparing Bid to Sign £60m Star Instead of Eze - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham are preparing a bid to sign Como midfielder Nico Paz following Arsenal’s hijack of their pursuit of Eberechi Eze, Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed.

The North London side have reportedly identified Paz as a potential replacement for the injured James Maddison and are looking to make another move for the highly-rated starlet.

Di Marzio claims Spurs already tried to sign Paz earlier this month but saw their €40m (£35m) bid rejected by Como, who are believed to value the 20-year-old at €70m (£60m).

Tottenham are on the lookout for several late reinforcements to Thomas Frank’s squad, with talks also ongoing over Manchester City winger Savinho’s arrival.

The Lilywhites are not giving up on landing the 21-year-old forward before the deadline, despite City’s reluctance to sell, with Frank particularly keen on his arrival.

Tottenham Pushing to Sign Nico Paz

According to Di Marzio, Tottenham are targeting an attacking midfielder to replace James Maddison before the deadline, following the England international’s long-term injury setback.

Maddison suffered an ACL injury in a pre-season friendly earlier this month and could miss the entire 2025/26 campaign, with his recovery expected to take six to seven months.

Tottenham are also without Dejan Kulusevski, who sustained a serious knee injury in May, and have parted ways with former captain Son Heung-min, who joined MLS side Los Angeles FC.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Paz made three appearances in the Champions League for Real Madrid in 2023/24.

Pushing for late signings, Spurs are claimed to be ready to make another move for Paz, although it remains to be seen whether their improved offer will come close to Como’s valuation.

Even if it does, Real Madrid will have the final say on the 20-year-old’s future, having inserted a clause giving them first refusal to match any offer from another club.

Paz joined Como from Real in the summer of 2024 and enjoyed a promising debut season in Serie A, scoring six goals and providing nine assists in 35 appearances.

The three-cap Argentina international, who made eight senior appearances for Real before departing, is under contract with Como until June 2028.

Fabrizio Romano: 'Elite' Forward Wants to Join Tottenham After Eze Hijack - GiveMeSport
Description

Manchester City forward Savinho remains keen to join Tottenham Hotspur before the summer transfer window closes, according to GIVEMESPORT Senior Reporter Fabrizio Romano.

GIVEMESPORT sources exclusively revealed on August 6 that Spurs were targeting a surprise move for the Brazilian attacker, and their subsequent opening £43m offer for the 21-year-old was rejected by City.

Savinho 'Keen' to Join Tottenham Despite Man City Stance

In recent weeks, it emerged that Tottenham wanted to bring in two new forwards following a failed deal for Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White, as well as James Maddison picking up an ACL injury during the club's pre-season tour in South Korea.

While negotiations for Savinho have been slow due to the reluctance of someone at Man City who is 'blocking' the exit of the Brazilian, Spurs thought they were about to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze this week.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Savinho has three goals and 13 assists in 48 appearances for Man City after joining them for £31m in July 2024.

However, the bombshell dropped on Wednesday night that arch-rivals Arsenal had in fact hijacked the deal, with the 27-year-old preferring to move to the Emirates instead, having grown up as a Gunners fan.

Meanwhile, a potential deal for Savinho depends on City changing their stance on selling a player they still rate to a Premier League rival. Recent reports suggest that Spurs are ready to bid up to £69m with the player's agent currently in London for talks.

Writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter on Friday, Romano was asked if Savinho would be keen to join Tottenham should a deal be agreed between the two clubs.

Yes, he is. Open to the move, also because Frank really wants him. Depends on Man City.

While Frank really wants to land Savinho - described as an 'elite ball carrier' - and another attacker before the September 1 deadline, Tottenham performed well enough with their current side in their opening-day 3-0 win against Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Richarlison was the star of the show with two brilliant goals despite exit links throughout the summer, but Frank will want more depth going forward if Spurs are to enjoy a strong Champions League campaign.

Tottenham Ready £69m Bid for Forward, His Agent is Holding Talks in London

Description

Tottenham Hotspur could look to return for a bid for Manchester City star Savinho in the final days of the window, after missing out on Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze to rivals Arsenal earlier this week - with reports suggesting that Thomas Frank's men are ready to up the ante to secure a creative spark ahead of the new campaign.

With Tottenham having won the Europa League last season, that means that they will take their place in the Champions League for the upcoming campaign - seeing them become a more attractive proposition for potential targets to join with elite continental football on offer.

Report: Tottenham 'Preparing' New Savinho Offer, Agents in London

With that in mind, the report by Brazilian outlet Ge Globo states that Spurs losing out on Eze to Arsenal has thrust them into a new bid for Savinho - and Daniel Levy is promising to go 'to the limit' to secure the Brazilian's signature.

The club will 'formalise' a new offer soon, despite City continuing to play hardball over a potential move as they aim to keep the youngster in their squad. The final stretch of the window is always heating, with City rejecting Spurs' initial bid - but the north London club are now preparing a new €80million (£69million) bid to acquire the former Girona winger, who Pep Guardiola called 'extraordinary'.

There will be 'no effort spared' in their updated move for the 21-year-old, having seen Eze snub them at the last minute for their local rivals on Wednesday evening, and now Spurs are promising to push a deal through before the September 1 deadline.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Savinho has 13 caps for Brazil, scoring one goal.

Savinho's agents remain in London, peddling negotiations between the two clubs, but City's lack of receptiveness isn't seen as straightforward and that could perhaps scupper a deal. Savinho has 10 assists in just 29 Premier League games, providing a real creative spark under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium, but his output in terms of goals will need to be improved upon, having only scored once in the top-flight last season.

Spurs already have Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson able to play on the right flank, whilst Richarlison, Mathys Tel, Wilson Odobert and Manor Solomon can play on the left. However, with an injury to James Maddison, it's likely that Kulusevski and Kudus will drop into that role in central midfield, allowing Savinho a clear run to make the right-wing his own after some impressive performances for City in his debut campaign in the Premier League.
