Tottenham have had a busy start to the summer transfer window, and their early business doesn't look like stopping any time soon.

The Lilywhites have already confirmed the signing of left-back Andy Robertson from Liverpool and are expected to announce the capture of centre-back Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth imminently, with both deals free transfers.

Spurs desperately need a strong summer after narrowly avoiding relegation from the Premier League last season and back-to-back 17th place finishes in the English top-flight.

Reinforcements in defence appears to be the priority for Roberto De Zerbi at this moment in time, and the Italian is reportedly seeking another defender after the additions of Robertson and Senesi.

Tottenham in the race for Roma defender

According to Transferfeed, Tottenham are showing interest in Roma defender Evan Ndicka, alongside Inter Milan and Marseille, after an impressive season in Serie A. Additionally, the centre-back is reportedly being valued at around 35 million euros (£30.2m).

The six-foot-four defender played 42 times for Roma last term as Gian Piero Gasperini's team finished third in the Italian top-flight, qualifying for the Champions League.

Following his arrival in Italy from Frankfurt in 2023, Ndicka has become one of the best centre-backs in Serie A, earning praise from former bosses Jose Mourinho and Claudio Ranieri, with the latter labelling the Frenchman as a "warrior".

It is no surprise that De Zerbi has been quick to bring in two experienced defenders this early into the summer after Tottenham's woeful defensive record last season. Only the three relegated clubs conceded more goals in the Premier League than their 57.

Tottenham Need Ndicka

In Ndicka, Spurs would be signing a defender whose stock is continuously rising, but is still "underrated" according to European football expert Andy Brassell.

There is no doubt that, should the price tag prove to be in the region of 35 million euros, Tottenham would be able to afford the Frenchman. However, the lack of European football could hold them back in their pursuit.

Both Inter and Marseille are also reportedly showing interest in the 26-year-old and will be competing in the Champions League and Europa League respectively next campaign, while Spurs won't have European football to offer. Roma will also play in Europe's elite competition.

Tottenham need further additions in defence but they may have to look elsewhere if Ndicka's priority is to continue competing in European competition next season.

Contact Made: Tottenham Could Now Lose 'One Of The Best' Young Stars In World Football - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham's summer of change could bring about some tough exits, as Gianluigi Longari reports that contact has been made for one star, who may be open to a move away from the club.

It comes as the great Spurs rebuild is already underway, with the hierarchy looks to avoid a repeat of the consecutive 17th-placed finishes the team have endured over the past two seasons.

A move for Andy Robertson has been confirmed, with Marcos Senesi expected to join shortly after in a double switch that will bolster the backline.

While that, combined with an attempted bid to sign Jan Paul van Hecke, will certainly improve the defensive solidity of the team, it may cause some other changes in the squad.

Cristian Romero is expected to leave, but he may not be the only Tottenham centre-back who could be on the move this summer.

Luka Vuskovic Linked With Transfer Exit

Among those who have an uncertain future in North London is Luka Vuskovic, who will return to Tottenham after his loan at Hamburg comes to an end.

The 19-year-old has been touted as one of the best young centre-backs in the world, with plenty of potential to grow having broken through at such a young age.

However, according to a report from Longari, Vuskovic would be open to leaving Spurs if an offer arrives, with clubs circling a possible deal.

Bayern Munich and some Premier League clubs are claimed to have made initial contact to see if a deal can be done, with it being uncertain where he fits into the club's plans.

It remains to be seen whether the Croatian international will be available or not in the window, but there could be some huge decisions to make in the recruitment team surrounding his future.

While Vuskovic has plenty of potential, it's clear that Tottenham need immediate improvement, and it's uncertain whether he will be given an opportunity to progress in the immediate future.

How Good Is Vuskovic?

Having been a senior professional for a few seasons now, Vuskovic has demonstrated that he is capable of playing at a top level, with the potential to grow even further.

Moving from that current level to the potential he has is another thing, however, and requires a player to gain more experience and even make mistakes.

Given the campaign Tottenham have had, it makes sense that quality at centre-back is fresh on the club's mind, with Senesi and Van Hecke two clear targets.

While that may block out a pathway for Vuskovic, there are questions over how good he would be for Spurs in their current guise, though other players have suggested he is top quality.

"I think he [Vuskovic] has a very good and successful future ahead of him," Bayern Munich and Germany centre-back Jonathan Tah recently said ahead of his nation's World Cup campaign, having come up against the defender in the Bundesliga over the past season.

It's an assessment that other clubs clearly agree with, as they now swarm a potential deal. It's up to Tottenham whether they can give him the right game time or risk losing him in the process.

£30m Star Agrees Personal Terms to Join Tottenham on Five-Year Deal - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham are closing in on another potential arrival in the summer transfer window, with Italian journalist Nico Schira reporting that an agreement in principle has been reached on personal terms with one target.

It comes as Spurs continue to move at a quick pace in the market, sealing moves for Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers.

There have been two bids now rejected for Jan Paul van Hecke, with a potential third on the way, as Roberto De Zerbi's rebuild is now firmly underway.

While the defensive ranks have been a clear area of focus, the next priority is the forward areas, with an agreement reached for one potential arrival.

Savinho Contract Agreement

Tottenham have shown plenty of interest in Savinho over the past year or so, opting against in the past two transfer windows, but interest has been revived once again.

Recent reports have claimed that Spurs are pushing to land the Manchester City winger, with a contract offer in the region of £120,000-a-week claimed to be made.

Now, Schira has reported via X that an agreement in principle has been reached between Tottenham and Savinho on the terms of a contract that will last until 2031.

The journalist claims that Roberto De Zerbi is keen on the 22-year-old, who has been described as "gifted" for his performances so far with City after costing them £30m.

All that is left is for a club-to-club agreement to be reached, before putting the finishing touches on the contract talks to secure yet another high-profile arrival.

That may get Tottenham closer to where they want to be, adding a player with Premier League quality and potential to grow even further in the future.

Pep Guardiola On Savinho

In Savinho, Tottenham could have an ideal one-on-one winger, who is capable of driving the team forward and making things happen in the final third.

It's something Spurs have been lacking in recent seasons, not least due to injuries in the forward areas, but the Brazilian forward could provide that in bucket loads.

There are question marks over his end product, having scored just seven goals for Man City since joining the club, but that clinical edge is all that is missing so far.

It was something Pep Guardiola touched on earlier this season, when he said: "What I like from Savinho is always he is digging, go, go, go, all the time.

“The final decision can be better, of course, but always I reward this work ethic and especially because he goes and he goes all the time."

That's something Tottenham will be hoping De Zerbi can add to his game, coaching the 22-year-old to capitalise on the quality he has in general play.

If the forward can do that, then he will go on to become an important player in the Premier League for Spurs.

Brighton CEO Confirms Tottenham Have Made Second Bid for Jan Paul Van Hecke

Brighton CEO Confirms Tottenham Have Made Second Bid for Jan Paul Van Hecke - GiveMeSport
Description

Brighton CEO Paul Barber has confirmed that Tottenham have made a second bid to sign Jan Paul van Hecke ahead of the summer transfer window.

Tottenham have been showing an interest in signing Van Hecke ahead of the summer transfer window, with manager Roberto De Zerbi clearly keen to work with one of his former players.

Spurs may need defensive reinforcements in the summer transfer window, with Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero both linked with departures.

De Zerbi could be looking to bring in players that he knows he can trust as he aims to guide Spurs into the top half of the Premier League table.

Reports emerged this week that Tottenham had made a bid to sign Van Hecke, but it appears they've made another one as the Brighton CEO speaks out.

Brighton CEO Speaks on Tottenham Interest

Speaking live on Talk Sport, Brighton CEO Barber has confirmed that Tottenham have made a second bid to sign Brighton defender Van Hecke.

"There's always going to be a lot of interest in our best players, and certainly in the case of Jan Paul. We've been very clear that that interest has been ongoing for a while, it's coming from multiple sources. Yes, we have rejected a bid from Tottenham over the last week or so, in fact, two bids. "So from that point of view, it has to be right for us as well as the player, we have to be in a position to make the best trades to suit our model. And also to make sure that we're supporting Fabian (Hurzeler, head coach) because he's got another big season ahead of him. "He's had two seasons in the Premier League, he's finished eighth on both occasions, this time we've been fortunate enough to qualify for a European competition. "We want to go as deep in that competition as we can, while also doing well in the Premier League. "To do that, we need to make sure Fabian's got the best possible squad and we've got the right balance between the young players that typically we like to bring in and develop, "And the more experienced players like Pascal Gross and others, who can actually help us progress in all of the competitions that we're in. "As always, it's a balancing act, and hopefully this summer we can work hard to pull it off again."

Brighton appear to be standing firm with the Dutch defender as they understandably don't want to lose him this summer.

Tottenham's second bid was rejected by the Seagulls. It will be interesting to see whether Spurs return to the negotiating table once again.

Tottenham Should Walk Away

With reports suggesting that Tottenham's initial offer was in the region of £70 million, it could be time for the North London club to walk away from a deal.

That would suggest that Spurs' second offer was even more, which clearly shows that Brighton aren't going to let him go on the cheap.

Van Hecke would undoubtedly improve Tottenham, especially if they lose van de Ven and Romero, but there are certainly question marks as to whether he's worth over £70 million.

At this stage, Tottenham should be walking away rather than continuing to negotiate, as there is undoubtedly better value elsewhere in the centre-back market.

Description

Tottenham are set to complete another summer signing after securing the signature of Andy Robertson, according to Fabrizio Romano.

It's been a strong start to the summer transfer window for Spurs, which is no surprise after such a disappointing season.

Roberto De Zerbi's side needed to invest in their squad, and they've wasted no time in trying to bring new additions to the club.

If Tottenham want to head him back in the right direction, they need to bring in reinforcements this summer. It looks as though they've already got two deals over the line.

Robertson was recently confirmed as their first summer signing, joining the club on a free transfer after leaving Liverpool.

Tottenham Close to Second Summer Transfer

According to Romano, Tottenham are now set to secure another signing after it was confirmed that Robertson would be joining the club.

The respected journalist has confirmed that Tottenham have now completed a double free transfer signing, bringing in Robertson and Marcos Senesi, who joins the club on a four-year deal.

Despite various rumours, Romano confirms that there is no chance for anyone to hijack a deal for Senesi after he said yes to Spurs weeks ago and completed a medical on Saturday.

Strong Start to Window for Tottenham

Bringing in both Senesi and Robertson ahead of the summer transfer window is a strong start for Tottenham for multiple reasons.

Both players have been playing at a high level in the Premier League and will instantly improve their squad, if not their starting XI.

They also have plenty of experience, both in general and in the Premier League, which is what Tottenham need after a disappointing few years.

Spurs have signed a host of young talent from around the world over the last few years, so adding a bit of experience will be beneficial.

Whether the duo will start every week remains to be seen, but there's a strong chance they will be crucial signings for Tottenham.

Tottenham Suffer £26m Setback After Transfer Talks Held

Tottenham Suffer Setback In Bid To Sign £325,000-A-Week Star After Talks Held - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham continue to be linked with all and sundry in the summer transfer window as Roberto De Zerbi looks to improve the squad he inherited from Igor Tudor at the end of March.

De Zerbi managed to save the club from relegation to the Championship with a 1-0 win over Everton on the final day of the season ensuring it was West Ham who made the drop into the second tier.

Andy Robertson has already arrived, signing on a free transfer from Liverpool, while it is expected that Marcos Senesi will follow him following his exit from Bournemouth.

Tottenham have so many attacking players injured

Both of those are defensive signings, with the Lilywhites also having a bid rejected for another defender in the form of Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton.

De Zerbi will look at attacking reinforcements this summer too, having been unable to call upon the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert or Mohammed Kudus since arriving in north London, and only briefly able to name Xavi Simons in his side.

Marcus Rashford has been linked with a move to N17, because of the confusion around his future.

The England international, currently on duty with the Three Lions in the United States of America ahead of the start of the 2026 World Cup, has spent this season on loan with Barcelona in La Liga and has had a successful spell at the Camp Nou.

Rashford, after falling out of favour with former United boss Ruben Amorim, scored 14 goals and laid on 14 assists in 49 appearances for the Catalans, who hold an option to buy him from Manchester United for around £26million.

However, having signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United for £69million, Barca are keen to negotiate the terms of that option to buy deal with United, looking to either bring the price down or spread the payments across another loan deal and then a purchase after the 2026/27 campaign.

Rashford's future looks like it is at Barcelona or Manchester United

Rashford will return to United after the World Cup, if a move away is not completed, but his future at Old Trafford appears to be over.

Tottenham are one of a number of Premier League teams to have enquired about his availability and the potential to complete a transfer, but have been rebuffed in their attempts to sign him this summer.

According to Sport in Spain, Rashford has made it clear that he does not want to make the move to Spurs, or any other Premier League team for that matter, and his sole interest is in re-signing for Barcelona.

That may lead to United having to cut their losses and re-negotiate the terms of their deal with the Catalan side, or hold firm and make Rashford have to return to Old Trafford if Barca do not want to spend £26million on him.

He Wants to Join: Tottenham In Talks to Sign 'One of the Best' Stars Alongside Savinho - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are already being very active in the transfer market, and they are now in talks to seal yet another transfer for Roberto De Zerbi.

Spurs have already completed an agreement to sign Andy Robertson from Liverpool on a free transfer, while a move for Marcos Senesi has also been agreed, and a bid has been submitted for Brighton star Jan Paul van Hecke.

Talks are said to be ongoing with Manchester City over a deal for winger Savinho too, with the club making moves, and now it has emerged they are engaging in talks for someone De Zerbi is a big fan of.

Tottenham In Talks for Joao Palhinha Deal

According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham are engaged in talks with Bayern Munich over a deal to sign Joao Palhinha permanently this summer.

The Portugal international, who De Zerbi has described as 'one of the best', spent this season on loan in north London and scored some vital goals to help them avoid relegation, including the winner on the final day of the season against Everton.

Palhinha has attracted strong interest from former club Sporting CP, with personal terms already agreed about a potential return to Lisbon. However, he would prefer to stay in the Premier League with Spurs, and has given them his priority ahead of a summer exit from Bayern.

Spurs hold an option to make his loan move permanent for €30m (£25.9m) including bonuses, but they are not currently willing to pay that much, and have not triggered the option as a result.

But the clubs are in talks over a potential lower fee, with the north London side hopeful that an agreement can be reached as Bayern are hopeful of selling the 30-year-old permanently.

Tottenham Have Leverage to Seal Deal

Tottenham are expecting major changes in their squad during this summer window, and that means any stability that they can control would be a good thing.

Cristian Romero is expected to leave, as is goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, but there is interest in a number of players looking at the rest of their squad. De Zerbi will want to keep a lot of those players, and that includes Palhinha.

Bayern don't want him, and the player wants to join, so Spurs have all the leverage to get a deal done. But they can't wait too long or they risk allowing other teams to step in and hijack it. Tottenham must now get this deal done, or ENIC will have major questions to answer.

Tottenham's Dream Signing For De Zerbi As Three Players Not Good Enough

Roberto De Zerbi's Dream Signing And Three Players 'Not Good Enough' For Tottenham - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham cult hero Steffen Freund believes that Erling Haaland would be the dream signing for Roberto De Zerbi this summer, stating that what Spurs already have in attack is "not good enough".

Spurs escaped a shock relegation to the Championship by the skin of their teeth on the final day of the Premier League season by beating Everton 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and condemning rivals West Ham to the second tier instead.

De Zerbi has already made hs first move in the summer transfer window - signing a player Spurs almost brought in in January, by agreeing a deal for Andy Robertson to join on a free transfer from Liverpool.

Man City threatened Real Madrid with legal action over Haaland

Having been brought in to rescue the club at the end of March, De Zerbi has been working with a squad that was not his own and he will now want to use the summer transfer window to make his own changes and improvements.

Haaland is never going to make the move from Manchester City to Spurs, with the Citizens threatening Real Madrid with legal action this week after it emerged that presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme said he would sign the Norwegian if he arrived at the club.

But Freund knows that is where Spurs need to strengthen and he even named three players who should probably move on this summer too.

In a blog for Betway, he said: "I would take Erling Haaland, the best striker in the Premier League. Don’t forget, they lost Harry Kane and Heung-min Son. Those two players did a huge job and that’s why Spurs were always in Europe or in the Champions League, even the Champions League final. They came close to silverware, but they were always top six and maybe top four.

Spurs stars are not good enough for De Zerbi

"But I think a top striker is so helpful. Ask Vincent Kompany at Bayern [Munich] about Harry Kane. That’s why I would take Haaland, because he’s young, physically strong, and he will score goals.

"You can see it with Richarlison, [Randal] Kolo Muani, [Dominic] Solanke, are they good enough to bring Spurs back to the top six? At the moment, I would say no.

"They were too inconsistent with all of those players, so it is up to De Zerbi to get them back to the top level. Did they play all the games successfully? No. So that is why I would take Haaland."

Tottenham Sent £69m Message Over Martin Baturina Move

Tottenham Sent £69m Message Over Martin Baturina Move - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi is already making moves in the summer transfer window, with Andy Robertson arriving at the club on a free transfer from Liverpool.

A number of other players have been linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and one could be Como midfielder Martin Baturina.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio, two Premier League sides have made approaches to Como to sign the 23-year-old, with offers between €50million (£43million) and €55million (£47million) prepared. Di Marzio does not name the Premier League sides who are preparing to make an official bid, but confirmed that Como have slapped an €80million (£69million) price tag on his shoulder. Tottenham have been named elsewhere as potential suitors for his signature.

Baturina to add bite to Tottenham's toothless midfield

Spurs have endured a pair of dreadful Premier League campaigns, finishing 17th in the past two seasons. Tottenham narrowly avoided relegation, securing their Premier League status for 2026/27 on the final day of the season at the expense of London rivals West Ham.

One area that contributed heavily to Tottenham's struggles this season was a midfield sorely lacking creativity. Long-term injuries to both James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski rid Spurs of much of their attacking steel, with the pair contributing 27 goal contributions during the 2024/25 league campaign.

Baturina, who turned 23 in February, has enjoyed a fruitful season in Cesc Fabregas' Como side. The Croatian international scored six times and assisted a further three in 29 Serie A appearances, helping Como to achieve an incredible fourth place finish and qualification for their first ever Champions League campaign.

Nothing but praise from Cesc Fabregas and Zlatko Dalić

Upon signing for Como last summer, Fabregas was quick to praise his intelligence and adaptability in midfield. "Martin is a player of immense quality. He's intelligent on the ball, strong in duels, and has the personality to make things happen in key moments. He fits exactly the kind of football we're building here."

Baturina's ability to contribute both going forward and defensively would clearly be of huge benefit to De Zerbi. As well as faltering in front of goal, Tottenham often failed to keep their opponents out. With 57 goals conceded, they had the fourth-worst defence in the Premier League last season, with their record only better than the three relegated teams.

The midfield prospect's impressive form has also caught the eye of the Croatia manager, Zlatko Dalić. Following the side's recent defeat against Belgium ahead of the World Cup, Dalić singled out Baturina as a real standout during the friendly. "He was very good, very committed and in excellent form. He was probably our most dangerous player in attack tonight."

Baturina perfect for De Zerbi's midfield rebuild

The 23-year-old remains a promising player with plenty of room to grow, and crucially, one that matches the profile of Tottenham's recruitment strategy and market pull. Following two disappointing campaigns, Spurs have lost much of their ability to compete with Europe's biggest teams for established talent.

But with De Zerbi at the helm, Baturina presents an affordable option who is both a first-team option today and an investment for the future. With proven quality in Serie A under the tutelage of Fabregas, who is similar in style to De Zerbi, Baturina will likely prove well suited to Tottenham's midfield blueprint.

Romano Shares Exciting Update On Savinho to Tottenham Transfer

Fabrizio Romano Just Shared New Update On Savinho to Tottenham Transfer - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham are continuing in their pursuit to sign Savinho from Manchester City, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that a deal will be done "quite soon".

Spurs have already completed their first signing of the summer transfer window - despite it not being open yet - with Andy Robertson confirmed to be joining the club on July 1, following the expiration of his contract at Liverpool.

A second free transfer should follow in the coming days, with Marcos Senesi set to arrive from Bournemouth, having "given his word" to complete a move to Tottenham this summer.

Tottenham have been linked with other free transfers too, namely John Stones from Manchester City and Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus and canny free deals like that will allow Roberto De Zerbi to potentially splash out bigger cash on individual signings.

Spurs make contract offer to Savinho

One of those looks likely to be for Stones' Man City teammate Savinho.

Spurs are likely to have to drop a fee of at least £50million to sign the Brazilian from City this summer and there have been talks over a deal, with an insider suggesting Tottenham had already made a £120,000-a-week contract offer to the 22-year-old.

Romano believes a deal will not be far off completion for Spurs to spend their first big money of the summer transfer window and bolster De Zerbi's attacking options.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: "Tottenham are going for Savinho, Tottenham feel that the player wants the move, Totenham feel that Savinho one year ago was already ready to go to Tottenham.

"Savinoh was attracted to Tottenham one year ago and Savinho is attracted to Tottenham today, so on the player's side I don't see big issues. I think on the player's side Savinho to Tottenham can get done quite soon.

"Now it's on Manchester City and Tottenham, negotiating, discussing, talking about the transfer fee, but Tottenham are in it, they are working on the Savinho deal."

Savinho did not have the best of 2025/26 seasons

City signed Savinho from French club Troyes in 2024 in a deal worth around £31million. Spurs did have a bid of more than £60million knocked back last summer, but could negotiate a fee less than that given the player's disappointing 2025/26 season.

The forward only started 14 games in all competitions, with 36 appearances in total, scoring just four goals and providing three assists.

De Zerbi likes to play with conventional wingers in his 4-2-3-1 system and he will see Savinho as perfect for his system.

Soon after signing him, Pep Guardiola said: "His impact has been really, really good. He is a player who can play on both sides, can come inside, but what I like most is how devastating he is in the final third. He gets the ball, and his first thought is always to attack the opponent. He is aggressive, he is fast, and he has a unique quality to dribble past two or three players. For a manager, having a winger with that kind of personality is a gift."
