Description

Richarlison is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer after four underwhelming years at the club, according to AS.

The Brazilian striker made the move to north London in a deal worth £60m back in 2022 after a successful spell at Everton, and has gone on to score 29 goals in 124 appearances for the club, following onfrom 53 goals in 152 games for the Toffees.

However, the club are having a horrific season in this campaign, sitting just one point above the relegation zone with nine games remaining in the Premier League, and that means major changes are expected in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Richarlison 'Packing His Bags'

Richarlison has had a mixed campaign from an individual perspective, registering eight goals in 24 appearances in the Premier League, his second-best return for Spurs so far, despite the struggles of the team.

The Brazilian is desperate to be part of the World Cup squad this summer, and is under consideration by his former boss Carlo Ancelotti, who feels he could be a major game-changer for the five-time world champions either from the start or from the bench during the tournament.

However, he has lots of competition for a place in the squad and his fitness issues are a concern heading ito the tournament as things stand.

While Spurs rate the 28-year-old highly, he will enter the final 12 months of his contract with the club this summer, and it's expected that he will be leaving the club before the next campaign begins.

The report from Spain suggests that while Richarlison is fully focused on the rest of the season and avoiding relegation, he is already 'packing his bags' for a summer move away from the club, and could well be on his way back to Brazil for a new adventure.

Tottenham Need a Total Rebuild

One thing that Richarlison can't be criticised for is a lack of effort, but effort isn't always enough, and his lack of quality is often something that is mentioned by fans and pundits.

While he is a good option to have in the squad, Spurs are in need of a total rebuild and that means shifting everyone with any value and replacing them adequately. That makes Richarlison a prime target to be moved on once the season concludes.

GIVEMESPORT asked ChatGPT who would be a good replacement for Richarlison at Tottenham, and this was its response:

Tottenham In Talks to Sign One of the Fastest Players in the Premier League in £60m Deal - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are in ongoing talks over a move to sign Brentford star Kevin Schade this summer in a deal worth £60m, according to BILD.

The north London club have had a season to forget so far, and currently sit just one point above the relegation zone with nine games remaining in the Premier League, while they are also set to face off against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last 16, and have already been eliminated from both domestic cup competitions.

But despite those concerns, the club are understood to already be making plans for the summer transfer window, and they are still looking to do a deal for one player despite former manager Thomas Frank no longer being around.

Tottenham In Talks for Schade

Schade, who has been clocked as one of the fastest players in the Premier League this season, has stepped up out of the shadow of Bryan Mbeumo at Brentford this season, scoring seven goals and registering three assists in 26 appearances so far.

Those performances have seen the 24-year-old catch the attention of a number of clubs, including Tottenham, who are keen to strenghten their attacking options in the summer as they look to rebuild their squad.

According to a report in Germany, via Sport Witness, Bayern Munich are another side showing an interest in the German forward, but Brentford's asking price of €70m (£60m) is too high for them, as they see him being cover for Luis Diaz on the wings, rather than as an immediate starter.

Schade would be open to an exit from the Gtech Community Stadium this summer, and it is revealed in the same report that the player has already been offered to both Tottenham and Chelsea for a summer deal by his agent.

Spurs' interest was first reported ahead of the January window, but a deal didn't materialise. However, their interest has been retained despite Frank's sacking last month.

Schade Would Start for Tottenham

Tottenham know they need to bring in new options on the wings this summer, and Schade could fit in perfectly.

Mathys Tel has struggled for consistency and could look to move on, while Wilson Odobert is recovering from an ACL injury, and Richarlison is expected to leave at the end of the season. That would create a pathway for Schade to come in and make an immediate impact.

GIVEMESPORT asked ChatGPT what Schade would add to the Tottenham squad if he signed, and this was its response:

Six Tottenham Players Igor Tudor Can't Trust In Relegation Battle

Igor Tudor Can't Trust Six Players In Tottenham Relegation Battle And Two Are A Huge Shock - GiveMeSport
Description

Igor Tudor was probably not wise to use a boat analogy following Tottenham's 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Thursday night.

The reason the boat analogy was probably not well-timed from Tudor, was because it feels like a sinking ship at Tottenham right now.

The loss at the hands of Oliver Glasner's Eagles made it 11 games without a win for Spurs - a new Premier League record for the Lilywhites.

And with Nottingham Forest and West Ham United both picking up points the night previously, it means Tottenham are now just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Relegation to the Championship is now a distinct possibility for Spurs for the first time in Premier League history.

Tudor said after the game that he was brightened by the performance against Palace and used his boat analogy to speak about the players getting on board.

He said: "Maybe it will sound strange but I believe more after this game than I believed before. I saw something. I need to choose the right guys because the boat is going in the direction that I want to go and needs to go and who is in the boat can stay.

"Otherwise they can leave the boat. So when the other players will come back and choosing the right [players] I’m sure we will have a good team and the victories will come back. It’s not easy to accept the moment where we are now but it is how it is."

That begs the question who is in the boat and who is not? Who's up for the fight and who's not? GIVEMESPORT takes on a rundown of the Spurs squad.

Who's In Igor Tudor's Tottenham Boat to Save Their Premier League Status?

To be honest, this is very hard to answer. What have we seen from the players in recent weeks to suggest they are up for the battle at the bottom of the table?

Archie Gray was the best Tottenham player on the pitch against Palace, with the 19-year-old showing more senior players what is required in this situation. He's clearly on board and ready to fight.

Mathys Tel has always shown willing, desire and intent whenever he's been on the pitch - which is not often enough this season - and more than once tried to whip the crowd up during Thursday's defeat. Out of everyone he always seems to be intent on attacking his man and getting Spurs on the front foot.

Richarlison did not get much time against Palace but showed in the defeat to Fulham he is up for the battle. He's done it before, with Everton, giving his all for the cause and he's just the sort of fighter Tudor needs.

Xavi Simons took a while to adapt to the Premier League but has shown glimpses of his talent in recent months and despite being dropped for the game with Palace, when he came on he had a point to prove and got on the ball, ran at the Palace defence, drew fouls and generally got Spurs moving in the right direction.

Conor Gallagher has not been great since arriving at the club from Atletico Madrid, but he is a fighter and should be one Tudor can call upon, while Lucas Bergvall, once back from injury at the end of the month, is a fan favourite and always has the energy required for a fight like this. Dominic Solanke is the best source of goals and has come out and spoken about the situation and the need to be together, so he should be in the boat too.

Yves Bissouma may be a surprise name in the boat, having done ok under Tudor thus far, while Joao Palhinha will surely give everything for anyone, such is his nature.

The Spurs defence were not great against Palace, but Kevin Danso stood up and did his job and certain other players could learn a thing or two from him...

The Tottenham Players Not In The Boat

The Tottenham leadership group really look like they are letting the club down right now.

Cristian Romero has sat out the last four games through suspension for a needless red card against Manchester United. Spurs have missed him and when you're talking about someone being up for a fight you'd immediately say him.

Can he prove it when he comes back and lead the team through the roughest of all patches? It remains to be seen.

Alongside him there's Micky van de Ven, who will now miss the Liverpool match for his needless red card against Palace. Red cards, and silly ones at that, are not the mark of great leaders.

Then there's Pedro Porro, who probably should have been given a few free-kicks on Thursday night, showed petulance when he was substituted, mouthing off at the fourth official and banging chairs in the dugout. He's struggled to find any form this season and really just ought to take his medicine quietly.

Guglielmo Vicario is another member of the so-called leadership group and he's really not covering himself in any glory of late. He could and perhaps should have come out to deal with Palace's third goal. Avoiding that would have kept Spurs in the game.

Radu Dragusin was injured for the Palace clash and has struggled for form when called upon and is not one to be relied upon.

Randal Kolo Muani appears to be playing like someone not committed to the club. He will be going back to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and looks like he's going through the motions in a Spurs shirt.

What Of The Other Spurs Squad Members?

Pape Matar Sarr has been poor, but he may well show he can step up and fight for his place and Spurs' Premier League status. He's standing in the water, unsure whether to get on the boat or not right now.

The same can be said for full-backs Djed Spence and Souza. Are they up for it and/or capable of showing it? Time will tell.

Destiny Udogie will be back from injury soon and he should be a a real boost, but the youngster is not used to this kind of pressure and we will have to see whether he is up to it or not.

Fans will be hoping it is not long before they see Dejan Kulusevski in a Tottenham shirt too, while Mohammed Kudus will also return to action by the end of the month and show whether or not he can deal with the pressure.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro has revealed he has a 'dream' to play for Real Madrid one day, according to an interview via Cadena SER.

Porro and Spurs fell further into crisis on Thursday night when Crystal Palace came from behind to beat them 3-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham went into the clash with Oliver Glasner's men knowing they needed a positive result after a win and a draw for West Ham United and Nottingham Forest respectively on Wednesday left them just one point above the relegation zone.

There was hope of that when they took the lead through Dominic Solanke ten minutes before the break, but between then and half-time Igor Tudor's men had Micky van de Ven sent off and conceded three times.

Spurs' players looked bewildered while many fans had seen enough well before the final whistle, with something big now needed to stop them dropping into the Championship.

Porro: I Need to Improve to Secure 'Dream' Move

Spanish defender Porro has been speaking to radio in his home country ahead of their two-legged Champions League knockout tie with Atletico Madrid, having recently made his first-team comeback for Spurs following a hamstring injury.

The 26-year-old has started Tottenham's previous two Premier League matches, albeit both have ended in disappointment for him and his teammates.

While Porro acknowledged that the north London outfit's league form has been a 'disaster', he also revealed his 'dream' to play for Real Madrid.

When asked by Cadena SER if he could imagine himself in the famous white shirt with the uncertainty over Dani Carvajal and as Trent Alexander-Arnold adapts to life at the Bernabeu, the Spaniard said:

When you're little, you dream a lot of things, but on a day-to-day basis I think about my reality, and when you think about playing for the best teams in the world, you know that you still have things to improve.

Porro 'Very Angry' After Tottenham Decision

Porro was the most visibly animated Tottenham player last night, and he was particularly unhappy after being taken off in the 74th-minute.

The 26-year-old not only appeared to show his displeasure at the substitution towards Tudor, but he was also 'very angry' on the substitutes' bench, having been seen 'smashing everything' on it.

While it is good to see that frustration and passion from the Spaniard, Spurs now need him and his other senior teammates to step up and make the difference in the coming fixtures.

Tudor will hope to have more players back from injury and suspension against Liverpool in nine days' time, and the team needs to put in the performance of their lives to get something at Anfield.

Eight Managers Who Could Replace Igor Tudor At Tottenham Today

Eight Managers Tottenham Can Appoint Today To Replace Igor Tudor - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are heading towards relegation to the Championship and there is little out there at the moment that can stop them.

Spurs made it 11 games without a win - a new, unwanted Premier League record for the Lilywhites - with defeat to Crystal Palace at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday night.

Things got off to a good start with Dominic Solanke opening the scoring in the 34th minute - the first time they have led in a match since the 2-2 draw with Burnley on January 24.

But things turned sour quickly. Micky van de Ven saw red for pulling back Ismaila Sarr in the box with the Senegalese converting the resultant spot-kick in the 40th minute, before Jorgen Strand Larsen and another Sarr goal in first half injury-time put the game to bed before half-time.

Rumours are circulating that after just three games in charge, interim head coach Igor Tudor could be sacked, with no sign any of his methods are getting across to the beleaguered players.

That would be quite the admission of wrongdoing from the Tottenham hierarchy but it could be the only thing that could save Spurs from the ignominy of relegation to the Championship.

GIVEMESPORT takes a look at which managers could come in immediately to save Spurs' sinking ship.

Rumours Suggest A Trio Of Old Faces

With the rumours of Tudor being sacked come plenty about names who could replace him. And there were reports circulating even before the clash with Palace of three old faces being brought in to save the club.

Harry Redknapp has been manager of Tottenham before and openly admitted he would be happy to return when Thomas Frank was sacked.

But it would not be Redknapp on his own. It has been suggested that he would be brought in alongside another former Spurs manager in Tim Sherwood and former player Jermain Defoe, who has now completed his coaching badges and has done some work with the Spurs academy.

Redknapp is now 79 and has been out of management for almost ten years, while Sherwood has not been a manager for more than that, having left Aston Villa in 2015.

All three know the club inside out, however, and have the club at heart.

Club Legend Throws Hat In The Ring

The Spurs players do not look interested or up for the fight right now and that is a concern. Someone who knows the club, lilke those mentioned above, and can get them fighting for the shirt, could be the only option.

And there are other options in that regard, one who has openly admitted he would be happy to return.

Glenn Hoddle is a Spurs legend and both played and managed the club during his career. He is another who has been out of management for some time - 20 years to be exact - but he would bring a younger, newly-experienced manager with him in Robbie Keane.

Speaking on the Could It Be Magic FA Cup podcast, he said: Robbie [Keane]’s doing great as a young manager. So to have a steady springboard and someone experienced like myself would be a good formula, in many ways.

“I think it’d be a shrewd move to have somebody, whether it was me or somebody experienced with him."

Other Former Players Who Could Jump In

Looking away from those, there are some other former players who might be happy to do a job, and have more experience than all those mentioned above, bar perhaps Keane.

Ryan Mason has been there and done it before, taking on the interim role at Tottenham on two occasions already. He is out of work following his sacking as West Bromwich Albion head coach and would surely welcome a return to save the club he loves.

Then there's Jurgen Klinsmann, who has managed at the top level of international football and has admitted Tottenham is "in my heart". He is out of work and would no doubt be happy to jump in and rescue the club. After all, he was willing to do it before when Jose Mourinho was sacked.

The Manager Spurs Are Interested In For The Summer

There are two leading candidates to become Spurs head coach in the summer, GIVEMESPORT understands and one of them is available right now.

Mauricio Pochettino returning to the club he managed from 2014 to 2019 would be a popular choice for the fans, but there is another name who is well liked inside the corridors of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and that is Roberto De Zerbi.

The Italian left his role as Marseille boss just hours before Frank was sacked by Tottenham and is available now. Getting him could be difficult, given he wants to wait until the summer to assess his options - which could be plentiful - but if Spurs want him they could and perhaps should go and get him now.

Every Tottenham Player's Potential New Wage if Relegated to Championship

Tottenham now find themselves firmly involved in the relegation dogfight after losing their fifth consecutive Premier League fixture on Thursday night.

Spurs took the lead against Crystal Palace in the 34th minute through Dominic Solanke, but the game was turned on its head shortly afterwards when Micky van de Ven was shown a straight red card.

Spurs now find themselves one point above the relegation zone with just nine matches left to play. There’s already talk that Igor Tudor could be axed as the club’s interim manager, less than a month after taking charge at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

According to various outlets, including BBC Sport, it’s been widely reported that Tottenham players have clauses in their contracts which would see their salaries automatically reduced by 50% in the event of relegation to the Championship.

While some of the club’s higher-profile players would inevitably leave the north London outfit in search of top-flight football, we’ve taken a closer look at how much every member of the Spurs squad would be earning if their salaries are slashed in half.

Under £40,000 Per Week

Back-up goalkeeper Brandon Austin is currently Spurs' lowest-earner on £15,000 a week. His new wage would leave him on just £7,500 a week if Tottenham go down. However, his teammates would see an even more dramatic decrease in their salaries.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is one of four Tottenham players whose weekly wage would drop from £70,000 to £37,500. Destiny Udogie, Archie Gray and Rodrigo Bentancur also join the Italian shot-stopper in this category. Although how many of them would still be Tottenham players beyond this summer in the event of relegation to the Championship is uncertain.

Over £40,000 Per Week

Stars like Micky van de Ven and Richarlison will see their weekly wages drop all the way down to £45,000 a week. While the club's top two earners, Cristian Romero and Xavi Simons, will see their wages reduced significantly from £195,000 down to £97,500.

However, the likes of Romero, Simons, James Maddison and Conor Gallagher would almost certainly leave Tottenham if they're relegated from the top-flight. The same can be said for most other players in the following table.

Tottenham Legend Ready to Replace Igor Tudor and Co-Manage With 45-Year-Old

Description

Tottenham Hotspur legend Glenn Hoddle says he is ready to replace Igor Tudor and co-manage the club alongside another former Spurs star.

The crisis at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium deepened after they were beaten 3-1 by Crystal Palace on Thursday night, leaving them one point above the Premier League relegation zone having played the same number of games as the two teams below them, Nottingham Forest and West Ham United.

The north London outfit took the lead through Dominic Solanke in a positive start to the match for Tudor's men, but the game turned just minutes later when Micky van de Ven gave away a penalty and was sent off for bringing Ismaila Sarr down in the area.

Sarr duly converted the spot-kick and Spurs then collapsed in the following 10 minutes as goals from Jorgen Strand Larsen and a second for Sarr effectively ended the contest against 10 men.

Tudor has started his Tottenham reign with three straight defeats and the pressure is growing on the Croat.

Hoddle Willing to Take up Tottenham Role

Tottenham need someone on the coaching side of things that can unite a club that has a huge disconnect between every facet of the club and is falling apart.

While the likes of Tim Sherwood and Harry Redknapp have put themselves forward for the job, Hoddle is maybe more well-placed than either of those to really change the atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 61-year-old is a massive club legend and made just shy of 500 appearances for the north Londoners, scoring more than 100 goals.

He has confirmed again on the 'Could it be Magic' FA Cup podcast that Tottenham are 'his club' and while he wouldn't want to be the main man in the dugout, he is happy to share responsibilities with someone like Robbie Keane.

When asked if he would return to Tottenham, he said: “I think I would, actually. Particularly with Tottenham, as that’s my club.

“I’ve supported them since I was eight years of age. So they were a massive part of my life."

He then backed Keane and said he'd be willing to work in tandem with the 45-year-old to help Tottenham.

“Robbie’s doing great as a young manager. So to have a steady springboard and someone experienced like myself would be a good formula, in many ways.

“I think it’d be a shrewd move to have somebody, whether it was me or somebody experienced with him."

Keane is a 'Dark Horse' to Replace Tudor

GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Ben Jacobs revealed this week that Keane is a 'dark horse' for the Tottenham job in the summer, although the two main favourites for the job are former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino and the currently-available Roberto De Zerbi.

Keane was also linked with replacing Thomas Frank following his sacking last month, although it was suggested at the time he wanted a longer-term agreement than the one Tudor signed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Republic of Ireland icon has impressed during his current reign in Hungary with Ferencvaros, who are the reigning champions and are aiming for a second successive title win, as they currently lie three points adrift of leaders Eto Gyor.

Whether he would be willing to take the job from now until the end of the season, if Tudor does leave, remains to be seen, but there are no shortage of Tottenham legends ready to save the club.

Ian Wright Explains Why He Doesn't Want Spurs to Get Relegated

Description

Now deep into the 2025/26 Premier League season, Tottenham Hotspur remarkably still look as though they could get relegated. With nine games to play, they sit just one point above the relegation zone, with confidence at an all-time low after three losses on the bounce under Igor Tudor.

Despite winning the Europa League under Ange Postecoglou last term, Spurs finished 17th, and this meant the Australian was sacked. Thomas Frank came in but endured a terrible time in north London, as he was fired in February. As such, Tudor has now arrived until the end of the season with the main goal being to keep Tottenham up.

At the other end of the table, bitter rivals Arsenal currently sit at the top of the division, seven points ahead of Manchester City. The idea of winning the Premier League while seeing Spurs relegated would be the sweetest of concepts to most fans, but one Gunners legend has claimed he hopes it doesn't happen.

Ian Wright: 'I've Never Had a Hatred of Tottenham'

Ian Wright is one of the greatest Arsenal players of all time, scoring a former record 185 goals for the club, while lifting the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and European Cup Winners' Cup during his time in north London. With all that in mind, you'd expect him not to feel too fond of Tottenham.

In a recent interview, however, the iconic English striker explained why he's always had a soft spot for Sours. Speaking on The Overlap podcast, via Goal he said:

"People talk about Tottenham going down this season, there's a chance. I wouldn't want to see Tottenham go down. In this moment right now, I watched them the other day, absolutely they could. But I wouldn't like to see it. I've never had a hatred of Tottenham. When I was younger, I was always Glenn Hoddle. I loved Glenn Hoddle and I still do."

While Wright never played for Tottenham, of course, he did play for Glenn Hoddle on 13 occasions. All of these came for England during the late 90s, with the Arsenal legend picking up four goals and three assists for the Three Lions in that period under Hoddle. In total, he scored nine times in 33 games at international level.

Wright Expresses Concern Over Spurs Ownership

While he had many critics, Daniel Levy's exit after 25 years as Tottenham chairman leaves plenty of question marks for the club. Wright spoke about this as he argued that the departure has now exposed deeper issues regarding the Lewis family's stewardship.

He said: "Now that Daniel Levy's gone, they can't blame him. It's the Lewis family. They've got to change the ownership. You need an owner who can come in who's got that [Roman] Abramovich energy. He wants to win on the pitch and Tottenham have got everything in place."

Tottenham suffered yet another defeat, making it three losses from three for Igor Tudor, and former midfielder Jamie O'Hara didn't hold back with his assessment on the situation.

Spurs were beaten at home to Arsenal in Tudor's first game in charge since he was brought in to replace Thomas Frank. They failed to bounce back in the following game, as they suffered a 2-1 away defeat against Fulham.

Crystal Palace at home was an opportunity for them to bounce back, but a red card to Micky van de Ven in the first half gave them a mountain to climb. The Eagles cruised to a 3-1 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which was looking a lot emptier than at the start of the game.

Jamie O'Hara Wants Tottenham to Hire Former Manager

Speaking live on talkSPORT, former Spurs midfielder O'Hara has said he would take Postecoglou back at Tottenham right now after demanding that Tudor is sacked.

"I'd take big Ange, I would. I would actually take big Ange, it's got to that point."

O'Hara didn't hold back with his assessment on Spurs' current situation throughout the show, also suggesting that Tottenham need to sack Tudor immediately.

It would certainly be a controversial decision to bring Postecoglou back to the club, considering he was sacked less than a year ago.

There are certain Tottenham fans who would likely welcome it, due to him delivering a trophy to the club, but there's no doubt his side underperformed in the Premier League last season, and it would be a huge risk for him to return to north London.

Tottenham Need Fans Back Onside ASAP

Tottenham fans were seen walking out of the stadium before the half-time whistle was even blown against Palace, and they don't seem to have the energy for this relegation battle.

It was another dismal display, and Spurs are yet to win in 2026, sleepwalking to relegation.

The results on Wednesday that saw Nottingham Forest draw away at Manchester City and West Ham beating Fulham will have sucked the life out of many Tottenham fans, and it may have even had an impact on the players when it comes to the pressure on them.

Tottenham need the fans back onside, and that might mean making another change in the dugout.

Tottenham Must Hire Club Legend Before It's Too Late

Tottenham Must Hire Club Legend Before It's Too Late - GiveMeSport
Description

Rumours abound that Igor Tudor could be sacked by Tottenham Hotspur if they fail to beat Crystal Palace on Thursday night.

It is a dire situation that Spurs find themselves in at the bottom of the Premier League table. Wednesday night's results leave the Lilywhites just one point above the bottom three with ten games of the season to go.

Thursday night's clash is their game in hand, having seen everyone else play on Tuesday and Wednesday. Defeat at home to the Eagles does not bear thinking about, but given Spurs' form, it is the only thing you can really think.

Igor Tudor Is Under Immense Pressure Just Two Games In

Tottenham are winless in 2026. Ten matches have passed since the turn of the year and Spurs have drawn four and lost six of them.

Thomas Frank was sacked in February, with a home defeat to Newcastle United the last straw.

Tudor has come in and overseen two matches and is already under threat of losing his job. After two matches!

Given what we've seen in those two matches, it would not be the worst call. You're supposed to have a honeymoon period when a new manager comes in. He's supposed to revitalise the squad, get them back on track and singing from the same hymn sheet. Tudor has failed to do any of those things and Tottenham under the Croatian looks little different to Tottenham under Frank.

There is still no clear style or pattern of play on display. There's a real fragility from back to front, with no defensive solidity, no apparent interest from the players to show for the ball and no threat in an attacking sense.

Tottenham Hotspur Are A Mess From Top To Bottom

There is no getting away from it, the situation at Spurs right now is a shambles.

There needs to be wholesale changes in the summer - not just on the playing side, but behind the scenes too. The long-suffering supporters do not deserve this. What league the club will be in by then is a real concern.

To sack Tudor and move on to a third head coach in one season would show a distinct lack of leadership and direction from the Tottenham hierarchy. Do they actually know what they are doing? Is there a legitimate plan in place, because sacking the firefighter after three matches proves he was not the right man to come in and the process behind bringing him to the club needs to be called into question.

Tudor was supposed to save the club from the ignominy of relegation. If he fails to win against Palace and is relieved of his duties, Spurs will need to find a new willing - good luck with that - candidate to see that job through.

The head coach job in N17 was always seen as something of a poisoned chalice. With the current state the club is in, what can you call it now? Has the Spurs manager role become a Trojan horse? Are there any positives to come out of taking the job?

Saving the club from relegation will be a huge plus for whoever comes in to do it, but it will be tempered with the fact that they should never, ever have found themselves in this position in the first place.

Robbie Keane will not leave his job as Ferencvaros boss just to save Tottenham, he will want a longer-term commitment than being an interim head coach, but he is exactly the sort of person Spurs must turn to.

Tottenham Need Only One Thing If They Replace Igor Tudor

Any suggestion of wanting to see free-flowing, attacking football is gone. It's all about results, that's all that matters right now. Ryan Mason coming back, Jurgen Klinsmann being brought in, Jermain Defoe being handed the reins of his first coaching role, even club legend Ledley King stepping up into a head coach role for the first time ever - anyone who knows the club, loves the club and understands what it means to play for the shirt, fight for the fans and get the team out of the mire is what's required.

Mason would be the obvious choice, given he's done it before and has experience in the dugout away from Spurs too with West Bromwich Albion this season. Klinsmann has a wealth of management experience and has said before that the club is "in my heart". The German even called then chairman Daniel Levy in 2021 after Jose Mourinho was sacked.

He said: "I called him after he let Mourinho go and said 'Daniel what's the case now?' and he said 'listen I have so much to do, sorting things out at the club, let's talk later on' and then I saw all the names walking in and talking and walking out. Spurs is in my heart, absolutely I would consider that, yes."

"Tottenham is Tottenham and you would always listen to that situation, but for me Tottenham is a lot more."

Someone needs to take the players by the scruff of the neck, scream in their faces to sort it out and just go out and show some fight and I think the only person who can do that is someone like the names mentioned above who really care about Spurs as much as the supporters do.
