Description

Tottenham are ‘really pushing’ to sign Manchester City winger Savinho ahead of the transfer deadline, GIVEMESPORT senior reporter Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Europa League winners have opened talks over a deal for the 21-year-old Brazil international and remain hopeful of completing the move amid City’s firm stance.

Pep Guardiola’s side would reportedly love to keep Savinho at the club and are only likely to entertain a sale on their own terms, with Tottenham’s opening offer of £43m considered not sufficient.

City are believed to be looking for at least €70m (£60m) for Savinho this late in the window, and Spurs are expected to present an improved offer in the coming days.

Thomas Frank ‘Pushing’ to Sign Savinho

Romano, speaking on GIVEMESPORT’s Market Madness podcast, revealed that Savinho is 'really tempted' to join Spurs, with head coach Thomas Frank ready to make him a key player in his new-look squad:

“I think it's possible. It's not easy, because City would love to keep the player. They are not so happy with this approach, with 20 days to go, for an important player like Savinho.

“But at the same time, Savinho is quite open to this possibility to go to Totenham. My understanding is that the coach, Thomas Frank, is really pushing to have Savinho and to make him one of the stars of the squad.

“So, of course, Savinho, from what I’m hearing, is really, really tempted by this opportunity. Let's see between clubs what happens, because 50 or 55 million euros will never be enough for Manchester City to give the green light to this deal.

“From what I'm hearing, it has to be at least 70 million euros for Man City to give consideration to this approach from Tottenham.

“So let's see what happens there. But I think Tottenham will really push on this one again in the next hours or days.”

Tottenham are anticipating a busy end to the summer transfer window, with talks ongoing for both Savinho and Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze’s arrivals.

The Lilywhites are on the lookout for late reinforcements following Son Heung-min’s departure to MLS side Los Angeles FC and James Maddison’s setback.

The England international suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the pre-season draw against Newcastle in South Korea earlier this month and is expected to be out for around six to seven months.

Tottenham have already welcomed Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha this window, and have struck permanent deals for Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel.

Paris Saint-Germain v Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Starting Lineups for UEFA Super Cup - GiveMeSport
Description

Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur will go head-to-head in the UEFA Super Cup final at the Bluenergy Stadium on Wednesday night in Udine, Italy.

Luis Enrique's side won their first-ever Champions League title last season with a 5-0 win over Inter Milan to qualify for this game, while Spurs claimed a 1-0 win over Manchester United to win the Europa League, but have since replaced Ange Postecoglou with Thomas Frank as their new manager.

Both teams have also had busy summer transfer windows, leaving the managers with some big decisions to make ahead of the game, and this is how GIVEMESPORT expect the teams to line up for the game.

PSG Team News

Despite winning the Champions League and Ligue 1 title, and reaching the Club World Cup final during the summer, PSG have made some changes to their squad - most notably in the goalkeeper department. Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma has been displaced by new signing Lucas Chevalier as the number one stopper, while a deal has just been completed to bring in defender Ilya Zabarnyi from Bournemouth too.

Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez will both be available after missing the Club World Cup final due to suspension, but Portugal international Joao Neves will be missing after his own red card against Chelsea. Donnarumma also hasn't travelled with the squad to Italy, showing he is not part of their plans.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Luis Enrique shared an update on his squad ahead of the game.

"Lucas Chevalier and Renato Marin, too [were brought in]. They're always difficult decisions to make, I know. I can only say good things about Gigio Donnarumma: he's one of the best players in his position, without a doubt, and he's even better as a person, but we were looking for a different type of goalkeeper. And I repeat, it's always difficult to make a decision like that."

PSG Predicted XI

PSG Predicted XI: Chevalier; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Vitinha, Ruiz, Zaire-Emery; Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia.

PSG Predicted Substitutes: Martin (GK), Safonov (GK), L. Hernandez (DEF), Beraldo (DEF), Kamara (DEF), Mbaye (MID), Lee Kang-In (MID), Barcola (FWD), Ramos (FWD).

Despite the changes to the squad, the team is unlikely to look too different to the Champions League final. Young midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery should get the nod to replace Neves, while £420,000-a-week trio Lucas Hernandez, Bradley Barcola and Goncalo Ramos are likely to be on the bench.

Tottenham Team News

Since arriving in north London, Frank has overseen some big changes in the Spurs dressing room with captain Heung-Min Son departing for LAFC, while winger Mohammed Kudus and midfielder Joao Palhinha have arrived to strengthen the squad.

But the Dane will be without attacking midfielder James Maddison, who will miss the majority of the 2025/26 season after rupturing his ACL during pre-season. Radu Dragusin and Dejan Kulusevski continue to recover from long-term injuries, while Frank is hopeful striker Dominic Solanke is fit enough to play after missing the majority of the summer. Destiny Udogie is also likely to miss out at left-back, and is a doubt for the opening Premier League fixture with Burnley too.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Luis Enrique shared an update on his squad ahead of the game.

"The players [that are] longer-term are just part of the group. Dom [Solanke] is the positive one, he’s available for selection tomorrow. Destiny [Udogie] is closer, and getting closer to training with the group. Bissouma has not travelled with the group for disciplinary reasons.

“He [Bissouma] has been late several times and now this time was just one too many. I think with everything you need to give your players a lot of love but there has to be demands and consequences. This time there was a consequence.

"For me there’s been a consequence for this trip and there will be a follow up when I come home. I will park it for now.

Tottenham Predicted XI

Tottenham Predicted XI: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Palhinha, Bergvall, Bentancur; Johnson, Tel, Kudus.

Tottenham Predicted Substitutes: Austin (GK), Kinsky (GK), Gray (DEF), Danso (DEF), Davies (DEF), Vuskovic (DEF), Sarr (MID), Richarlison (FWD), Odobert (FWD), Solanke (FWD)

Tottenham are ready to meet Liverpool’s demands to sign Harvey Elliott this summer, journalist Sebastien Vidal has claimed.

The Europa League winners are anticipating a busy end to the summer transfer window as they look to bring in late reinforcements to Thomas Frank’s squad, with talks also ongoing for Manchester City winger Savinho.

Spurs are believed to be keen on replacing former captain Son Heung-min following his departure to MLS side Los Angeles FC and James Maddison, who is likely to miss the majority of the 2025/26 season after suffering an ACL injury.

Thomas Frank’s side are now looking to boost their attacking creativity with the signing of Elliott and are willing to offer the 22-year-old the regular game time he is looking for.

Elliott is expected to depart Anfield before the September 1 deadline and also has interest from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, who are said to be exploring a move.

Tottenham Keen on Signing Harvey Elliott

According to Vidal, Tottenham are ready to meet Liverpool’s demands to land Elliott before the transfer deadline, having identified the England U21 star as a player who could boost their creativity:

Elliott is keen on leaving Anfield in search of regular playing time this summer, having started just two Premier League games for Liverpool in 2024/25.

The Premier League winners are said to be open to selling the 22-year-old for a fee in the region of £40m and are reportedly insistent on including a buy-back clause in any deal.

Elliott registered strong displays at the Under-21 European Championship this summer, as he was named Player of the Tournament after leading England to the title and scored five goals, finishing as the competition’s second-highest goalscorer.

The 'special' London-born talent, who made a brief cameo in Liverpool’s loss to Crystal Palace in the Community Shield on Sunday, is under contract at Anfield for another two seasons, until June 2027.

Description

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Tottenham Hotspur's transfer business alongside Manchester City winger Savinho, writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter.

Romano recently confirmed that Tottenham are in club-to-club talks over a potential deal for Man City's Savinho. The Brazilian international is interested in a move to north London, with negotiations ongoing for a possible move this summer. Spurs boss Thomas Frank has indicated Savinho as an ideal player as they look to bring in reinforcements over the coming days and weeks.

So far, Spurs have secured the signings of Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha on loan, while Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso have joined permanently after spending the 2024/2025 campaign at Spurs. With only a few days remaining before the beginning of the Premier League season, Tottenham supporters might have been hoping to have seen more deals get over the line, but their business doesn't appear to be over.

Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham's Transfer Business Alongside Savinho

Writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter, Romano has confirmed that he doesn't expect Savinho to be the final signing of the summer transfer window for Tottenham if they are able to get a deal over the line for the Man City star. The Italian journalist isn't closing the doors for another addition alongside Savinho for Spurs.

"I've not been told it's going to be the last one, so I'd not close doors!"

The signing of Savinho would certainly be an impressive one, and David Ornstein recently confirmed that Pep Guardiola often allows players to depart if they are keen on a move away. The Brazilian international is capable of playing on either wing and through the middle, so his versatility could make him a useful option for Frank.

A natural attacking midfielder will likely still be on the agenda, considering Maddison's injury, while Dejan Kulusevski has also been unavailable recently. Although Savinho would be capable of playing in this role, adding a specialist player in this position would be hugely beneficial for Spurs.

Tottenham will face Paris Saint-Germain in the Super Cup on Wednesday evening, before kicking off their Premier League campaign on Saturday, hosting newly promoted Burnley. Spurs then travel to Manchester City before another home fixture against Bournemouth to end the month.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in signing Arsenal target Eberechi Eze, according to Fabrizio Romano, writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter.

Spurs' summer transfer window plans may have changed in recent weeks after it was confirmed that James Maddison has suffered a serious knee injury. Tottenham failed with a move to sign Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White earlier in the window before he signed a new contract, so it's been clear since the start of the window that a new player in this position was a priority.

Now Maddison has been ruled out for a significant period, Spurs could be even more desperate to add a new attacking midfielder to Thomas Frank's squad. Eze has been a target for Arsenal throughout the summer, but Spurs are also keen to secure the signature of the England international before the window closes.

Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham Remain Keen on Eze

Writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter, Romano has confirmed that Crystal Palace star Eze remains on Tottenham's list for the summer transfer window. The Arsenal target is a player of interest to Spurs as they aim to add a number 10 before the end of the window...

"He's always been on Tottenham's list, so for sure he remains of interest."

GIVEMESPORT sources previously confirmed that Thomas Frank has already given the green light to a move for Eze during the summer window. The Crystal Palace star had a release clause earlier in the window, which has now expired, with Arsenal weighing up whether to make a move to secure his signature.

Eze's contract at Selhurst Park expires in 2027, so Palace will have a decision to make regarding his future soon. If the Eagles are unable to convince him to sign a new deal, they could be forced to cash in to avoid him leaving on a free transfer. His value is only going to decrease next summer, meaning now is when they'll likely receive the highest fee for him to depart.

It remains unclear whether Palace would be willing to offload Eze, described as 'elite' by The Guardian, but Arsenal and Tottenham could be in the race. It could be a head-to-head battle between the two north London clubs, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see the race hot up over the next few weeks.

Tottenham to Make Official Approach to Sign £268,000-a-Week Star

Tottenham to Make Official Approach to Sign £268,000-a-Week Star - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are set to make an approach to sign Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo next week, according to journalist Sebastien Vidal.

It's been a relatively slow summer transfer window for Spurs so far, and their plans may have been scuppered in recent weeks after it was confirmed that James Maddison had suffered a serious knee injury. Attacking reinforcements may have quickly become a priority for the north London club, but Thomas Frank will likely be hoping for reinforcements all over the pitch.

Spurs endured a disappointing 2024/2025 campaign when it came to their performances domestically, finishing in 17th in the Premier League, losing 22 of their 38 matches in the competition. A Europa League triumph glossed over that, but it still showed the lack of quality and depth they have in their squad.

Tottenham Set to Make Approach for Ronald Araujo

According to journalist Vidal, Tottenham have earmarked Barcelona defender Araujo as a potential target for the summer transfer window. The Uruguayan international is valued at around £43m by the La Liga giants, while he's also a target for other sides in the Premier League. Vidal claims that Tottenham are set to make an official approach to secure his signature next week.

Araujo reportedly earns £268,000-a-week at Barcelona, which would make him one of Tottenham's highest earners if he were to join the club. Spurs will have to consider the financials involved carefully, especially if Barcelona are demanding a fee of around £43m alongside his salary package.

Adding a new central defender might not seem like an immediate priority, considering Spurs have both Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero at their disposal, but it was rare to see the duo partnered together during the 2024/2025 campaign. Van de Ven and Romero both missed a large portion of games due to injury troubles, with Van de Ven in particular enduring hamstring difficulties.

Radu Dragusin has also been on the treatment table with a serious knee injury, so it's not overly surprising to see Frank and his recruitment team in the market for a new centre-back in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have been deterred in their bid to sign Barcelona forward Ferran Torres, according to reports - with the Lilywhites having seen an offer rejected for the Valencia youth graduate as Daniel Levy ventures back on the transfer offensive.

Spurs' dismal campaign in the Premier League last time out has seen a need for squad depth to be improved, but they're in a great position to do so, having qualified for the Champions League via a Europa League win - and that has given them an enhanced budget to spend. With that in mind, a move for Torres has been looked at, even if they've been so far unsuccessful.

Report: Tottenham 'Have £43m Bid Rejected' for Ferran Torres

The report by Fichajes states that Torres has generated a lot of interest among top Premier League clubs, with Tottenham being one of those in the race for his signature.

Barcelona have decided not to sell the Spain international in the current window, despite receiving a £43million offer from Tottenham in recent days. Torres was previously on the transfer list at the Camp Nou, but he's since earned a place in the Catalonian giants' first-team after some top performances in La Liga last season - and his role as a substitute has seen him earn the trust of German boss Hansi Flick, who doesn't want the core of his team to be chopped and changed.

Interest in Torres' services is nothing new, with other Premier League clubs also in the race for him, though Tottenham have placed the former Manchester City star as a 'priority target' as Thomas Frank looks to bolster the attacking nature of his squad ahead of their Premier League curtain raiser against Burnley next weekend.

Despite Barcelona having financial issues, club president Joan Laporta and director of football Deco have discouraged the sale of Torres, wanting stability to compete in La Liga - and that has seen Tottenham's hopes for a move dwindle for the £210,000-a-week star.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Ferran Torres has 44 goals in 158 games for Barcelona.

The Lilywhites have already signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United this summer, but a failed move for Morgan Gibbs-White has shown that they're still looking to add to their attacking ranks - alongside linked moves for Como star Nico Paz and more.

Club legend Son Heung-min has completed a move to MLS outfit Los Angeles FC, whilst youngster Mikey Moore has been sent on loan to Scottish Premiership side Rangers for a season - meaning that there is space on the left-side of their flanks to oust young duo Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert, as well as competition for Dominic Solanke.

Tottenham Looking to Hijack Man Utd Move to Sign 'Exceptional' Star

Brighton’s sensational midfielder Carlos Baleba is being “closely monitored” by Tottenham Hotspur, according to CaughtOffside.

Tottenham are looking to improve on one of their poorest Premier League seasons, in which they finished 17th after losing 22 games from 38. Such form was the main factor in Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal from his post, despite the Australian becoming the first man in 17 years to win a major honour with Spurs by lifting the Europa League trophy.

In Postecoglou’s place, Spurs have appointed Thomas Frank, who established himself as a tactically astute coach across seven years with Brentford. Not including pre-existing deals, the Dane has signed three players at the time of writing. Japanese defender Kota Takai has joined the club, as have Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha, the latter on loan for the season.

Spurs were interested in signing Morgan Gibbs-White before the number 10 signed a new contract with Nottingham Forest. Tottenham remain in the market for an attack-minded midfielder, particularly after James Maddison suffered a long-term injury in pre-season, though recent reports have suggested they are also keen on offering competition to their defensive midfielders.

Spurs ‘Observing’ Brighton Star Baleba

CaughtOffside have reported that Spurs appreciate Carlos Baleba, who has developed into one of the most promising midfielders in the Premier League since joining Brighton from Lille two years ago. A dominating presence in the middle of the pitch, Baleba has also displayed a brilliant passing range as he has become a crucial part of the Brighton team.

Manchester United have shown a concrete interest in Baleba as they look to continue their summer rebuild for Ruben Amorim. As displayed by the acquisitions of attacking trio Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko, the Red Devils remain an attractive proposition for players despite such a poor campaign last time out.

Courtesy of winning the Europa League, Spurs will take part in next season’s Champions League, something that could prove a crucial negotiating tool should they pursue a deal for Baleba, who has been called an "exceptional" player. As per CaughtOffside, however, Brighton have “no intention of selling” Baleba this summer, so whether a deal is agreed remains to be seen.

Imagine Him and Kudus: Frank Green Lights Tottenham Move for 'Superstar' Forward

Imagine Him and Kudus: Frank Green Lights Tottenham Move for 'Superstar' Forward - GiveMeSport
Description

Thomas Frank could unearth a Tottenham Hotspur partnership akin to Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa if Eberechi Eze follows Mohammed Kudus through the door.

GIVEMESPORT sources indicate that Spurs are considering hijacking Arsenal's move for Eze who seems keen to cross over the English capital and join a Champions League competing club. The English attacker starred for the Eagles in their FA Cup triumph last season, scoring the winner in a 1-0 win over Manchester City in the final.

Frank has already welcomed Kudus into his squad, and the Ghanaian's arrival from West Ham United is an exciting one. But the Lilywhites may need to swoop for another attacking midfield profile after James Maddison sustained an ACL injury in pre-season.

Tottenham Should Pounce For Excellent Eberechi Eze

One of Spurs' main problems last season was the team's lack of creativity and an injury crisis highlighted the lack of depth in their squad. The worst season in the club's history was saved by their Europa League win and it's crucial Daniel Levy builds on this with a team that can compete in Europe and domestically.

Maddison is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines but there should have been a long-term plan in place to replace the 28-year-old anyway. He was far from his best last season, and adding a more youthful presence into Frank's midfield could take the whites to the next level.

Eze, hailed a "superstar", fits the bill with his dribbling abilities and vision, opening up defences with clever passing but also moving the ball forward as one of the Premier League's best ball progressers. That was one of Mbeumo's main assets during his growth under Frank at Brentford, and his former Danish manager was keen to bring him to North London before he made a £71m move to Manchester United.

Mbeumo starred alongside Wissa in Frank's Bees team last season, and a similar partnership could ensue if Eze were to link up with Kudus. They have different characteristics that could tear the opposition apart, with Spurs' new signing offering a more powerful profile.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa managed 29 Premier League goals between them under Thomas Frank last season.

Eze had a £68m release clause which has expired, but that doesn't mean Levy shouldn't try and bring the 12-cap England international to N17. He'd also prevent rivals Arsenal from getting their hands on one of English football's most highly-regarded attackers, who could be the difference between Mikel Arteta's men finally winning the title and falling short once again.

Frank is thought to have green-lit a move for Eze, who has two years left on his contract at Selhurst Park. He enjoyed his best season to date last term, managing eight goals and as many assists in 34 league games.
