Tottenham warned top clubs are coming for Archie Gray

Tottenham Hotspur signed Archie Gray from Leeds United at the start of the season and the 18-year-old has been outstanding for them so far.
Gray has established himself as an important first player for Tottenham and former Brentford manager Martin Allen believes that top clubs will be coming after him soon. Tottenham paid £30 million for the player when they signed him, but Allen believes that he is worth around £50 million now.
“He’s been absolutely outstanding,” Allen told Tottenham News.
“I thought he’d play as a midfielder but he’s played as a centre back, obviously due to the injuries. He doesn’t get phased by it, he’s such a good player.
“He’s reliable, honest and comes from a great family. I think he’s only going to get better when he moves forward and gets to play in midfield.
“I thought he was a really good signing at £30m, what’s he worth now? I’d set a top target of £50m on him right now but there will be top clubs coming after him no doubt.“
He is certainly one of the best young players at the club right now, and Tottenham will not want to lose him any time soon. It will be interesting to see if they can hold onto him.

Gray is capable of operating as a central midfielder, a fullback as well as a central defender. His versatility makes him a unique asset. He is only 18 and he will only improve with coaching and experience. He could develop into a top class Premier League performer with the right guidance.
Tottenham need to hold onto players like him if they want to build a formidable squad for the future. It remains to be seen how the situation develops. It would not be a surprise if top clubs decided to make a move for him in the future. Tottenham are likely to miss out on Champions League qualification next season and top clubs could look to take advantage of their situation and sign some of their key players.
