“He should be charged” Spurs player has a social media post backfire - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Keith Hackett, the former FIFA referee and ex-PG MOL chief, speaking to Football Insider about Tottenham midfielder James Maddison, has raised some serious concerns.

Hackett was asked whether the post could breach FA rules on questioning a referee’s integrity.

“This post will be reviewed by the FA Disciplinary Department, which will determine if it brings into question the integrity of the referee.

If they decide that it does, he will be written to and asked for his observations, which then may result in a charge, and if found guilty, may result in a fine or suspension.

In my opinion, it does question the match official’s integrity, and he should be charged, but watch this space.”

The remark refers to an Instagram post Maddison made after Tottenham’s recent 1-1 draw with Leeds United (around mid-May 2026).

In the post, Maddison appeared to criticise match officials for failing to award a late penalty (when he went down in the box) and suggested referees might be hesitant to make big calls due to VAR pressure.

Hackett added his personal view that it does question the official’s integrity and that Maddison should be charged, but noted to “watch this space” for the outcome.

The FA takes public comments that imply bias or question referees’ integrity seriously, as in recent cases like Rodri. Tottenham fans have been vocal about penalty decisions this season, especially in a tight relegation battle context.

Hackett reportedly reviewed the specific incident and supported the on-field decision, which was no penalty.

Djed Spence off to Roma or Juve?

‘Marmite’ Tottenham defender linked with Serie A transfer - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are enduring one of the most difficult seasons in their history, with the 2025-26 campaign pushing both the club and its players into decisive moments. Among those, the ‘Marmite‘ figure, Djed Spence, has emerged as a standout figure with some, but many have trouble when it comes to making an emotional investment in the player. Initially uncertain of his role at the start of the season, the 25-year-old full-back has transformed into one of the most reliable performers in the squad, impressing on both flanks.

Djed’s call-up to the England national team elevated his market value and reputation, and with Tottenham facing the threat of relegation, Spence has positioned himself as perhaps one of the hottest names in the transfer market.

The financial implications of relegation are severe. Tottenham would face losses of around £261 million in revenue, forcing the club to consider offloading high-salary players. Spence’s asking price has been set at €40 million, more than double the fee paid to Middlesbrough in 2022.

The Boy Hotspurs’ Substack understands that Juventus have identified Spence as a priority target for the summer, valuing his Serie A experience and versatility across both flanks. Roma are also monitoring him, though Juventus remain the frontrunners. In the Premier League, several mid-to-upper table clubs are preparing to move if Tottenham drop, seeing Spence’s international pedigree as a major asset.

Spence’s contract runs until 2029, with a weekly wage of £87,000—an amount unsustainable for Championship clubs. This makes his departure almost inevitable unless Tottenham manage a miraculous escape from relegation.

The most likely scenario is Spence remaining in the Premier League, with domestic clubs ready to act. Should those offers not materialise, Juventus is expected to step in. Fans appreciate his loyalty and performances, but acknowledge that a player of his calibre is unlikely to spend a season in the Championship.

In summary, the summer of 2026 will mark a forced crossroads for Djed Spence. Tottenham’s fate will directly shape his transfer path, with the destination determined by the balance between his desire to stay in the Premier League and Juventus’ determination to secure his signature.

Tottenham have £40m Man United attacking target “on their radar for a long time” - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign the Monaco attacker Maghnes Akliouche at the end of the season.

They have been keeping tabs on his progress for quite some time, and they are hoping to get the deal done this summer. The report claims that the player is also a target for Manchester United. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can beat them to his signature.

Manchester United will be able to offer him Champions League football, and that could be an attractive proposition. Meanwhile, the player will cost around £40 million. Both Premier League clubs have the financial muscle to get the deal done, and it remains to be seen where he ends up.

Spurs keen on Maghnes Akliouche

Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider: “Maghnes Akliouche is obviously a player who’s been on their radar for a long time.

“Tottenham will be keeping tabs on him and they are looking to be kept informed on his future.

“Monaco are well aware of the growing interest in him and probably would sell at the right price.

“For Tottenham, I’m sure they’ll be looking to be in that race for him.

“But I think it’ll be difficult for them just due to that lack of European football and because of the probably rival interest from other clubs.”

Where will Akliouche end up?

The 24-year-old will look to compete at a high level and regularly fight for trophies. Spurs will need to convince him of their ambitions. This has been a disappointing season for them, and they are fighting for survival in the Premier League.

They need more quality going forward, and the attacker could add a new dimension in the final third. He will help create opportunities for his teammates, and he can score important goals as well. He has found the back of the net seven times this season and has produced 11 assists as well.

Akliouche will look to play regularly, and he will have to compete with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo at Manchester United. He is more likely to start every week at Tottenham. It remains to be seen what he decides.

“They will have no choice” a very big call made in respect of owners ENIC - The Boy Hotspur
Description

The thought of Tottenham Hotspur getting relegated is something most of us are finding really difficult to compute. How likely is it?

Recent models from the Opta supercomputer give Spurs only a 12 to20% chance of relegation, with West Ham at 80% or more. Another win or even a couple of draws should be enough. Spurs have picked up points recently and have safety “in their own hands.”

Historically, a big club like Tottenham with quality players would be strong favourites to bounce straight back up if they went down, but nobody wants to experience that chaos, such as the huge financial hit, and loss of players, etc.

That said, football is unpredictable. A collapse, such as maybe heavy losses to Chelsea and Everton while West Ham wins both of their games, could make it happen. Spurs fans have been through a rough season with multiple managerial changes, poor form (especially at home in 2026), and inconsistency.

Former Everton and Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness, told Football Insider that he expects ENIC to finally start spending.

“Before the January window this year, we thought Spurs were going to go quite heavy into the January window and back Thomas Frank.

“Now, I think this has really scared the Spurs owners and if they do manage to stay up, they will have no choice but to really get the chequebook out and support De Zerbi, if he’s the manager, which I’m sure he will be, and to really go forward and get the fan base back united.

“I do expect De Zerbi, or whoever the manager is, if he keeps them up, to get serious backing next year and get things moving, because for a club like Spurs this should never be happening.”

Wyness also predicts that players such as Dominic Solanke, Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Guglielmo Vicario would all be prime targets to leave, come what may.

Tottenham need a shake-up, both on and off the pitch, so let’s hope this helps.

Tottenham targeting 23-year-old gem who could become De Zerbi’s defensive rock - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old has done quite well for the Italian club, and he could be an interesting option for the outfit. Players like Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven could be on their way out of the club, and Tottenham will need to replace them properly. Signing the Bosnian defender could be a wise decision.

Tarik Muharemovic would be a superb addition

He has shown his quality in Italy, and he has the physicality to thrive in English football as well. He could help him tighten up defensively. This has been a disappointing season for the North London club, and they have been quite poor at the back. They need to improve defensively if they want to return to the UEFA Champions League and do well in the domestic competitions.

Muharemovic is a young player with a lot of potential, and Tottenham could groom him into a future star. The opportunity to play in the Premier League will be exciting for the 23-year-old defender as well.

Tottenham have conceded 55 goals in 36 Premier League matches this season. It is an area of the pitch that needs significant improvement. Apart from a central defender, they should also invest in a reliable defensive midfielder.

Can Spurs sign Muharemovic?

The player could cost around €30 million (h/t CaughtOffside), and Tottenham has the financial muscle to get the deal done. Muharemovic has the quality to justify the investment in future, and he could prove to be a bargain.

There have been rumours that the CEO of the Italian club recently travelled to London for transfer talks. However, there is no clarity on whether he held talks with Tottenham or another London club. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Key Achievements and Stats at SpursTrophies:

He captained Tottenham to the UEFA Europa League title in 2024/25, beating Manchester United in the final. This ended a 17-year trophy drought for the club and was his first major honour with Spurs.

Overall club contributions included around 173 goals, placing him high on Tottenham’s all-time scoring charts.

Captaincy:

Appointed club captain in 2023 (first Asian to captain a Premier League side), succeeding Hugo Lloris. He led with humility and work ethic.

On-Pitch Impact and StyleSon was a dynamic, two-footed forward/winger known for speed, clinical finishing, link-up play, and spectacular solo efforts. He formed one of the Premier League’s most productive partnerships with Harry Kane (record goal combinations). After Kane’s departure, he stepped up as the focal point before transitioning into a leadership role. His consistency and big-game performances (including in Europe) stood out during a period of near misses for Spurs.

Broader Legacy Loyalty and character:

Fans and teammates praised his dedication, professionalism, and embodiment of “Tottenham values” in an era of player turnover. He left on his terms after the Europa League win, often emotional in farewells.

Global and cultural impact: As arguably the greatest Asian footballer of all time, he massively boosted Spurs’ fanbase in South Korea and across Asia. Club icon status:

He is frequently ranked among Tottenham’s modern greats (alongside or above players like Bale and Kane in some fan/pundit polls for 21st-century impact). Quotes like “Sonny is Tottenham” and Bale affirming his legend status after the Europa League final capture the sentiment.

Son moved to LAFC in MLS in 2025 but remains deeply connected to Spurs fans, with talk of future homecomings. His legacy is one of excellence without major silverware for most of his tenure—followed by a perfect, trophy-lifting send-off—cementing him as a beloved, barrier-breaking club legend rather than just a great player who passed through.

Tottenham want 21-year-old forward with “lot of potential” but needs to “tone down his ego” - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign the Brazilian attacker, Lucas Ronier.

The 21-year-old has done well for Brazilian outfit Coritiba, and he could prove to be a useful addition to the Tottenham attack. They need someone who can drive the team forward and create opportunities from the wide areas.

According to reports via CaughtOffside, Fulham are also keen on the youngster.

Spurs could use Lucas Ronier

The technically gifted attacker will add pace, flair, and agility in the final third. He has shown his quality with Coritiba, and the opportunity to play in the Premier League will be exciting for him. It would be a huge step up, and it will help him improve further. Regular football in England could accelerate his development.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham follows up on their interest with an official proposal. They have been scouting the player extensively, and he would be a long-term acquisition for them.

Ronier told to tone down his ego

Athletico-PR coach Odair Hellmann has labelled the player as someone with “a lot of potential”, but he has also warned that the 21-year-old needs to “tone down his ego” in order to fulfil his potential. He is a young player, and he will mature with time. Tottenham could groom him into a future star.

They have the financial resources to convince his club, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops. If they can sign him for a reasonable fee, the deal could prove to be a masterstroke.

It has been a disappointing season for Tottenham, and they are fighting for survival. They will not want to be in this position next season, and they need quality players in order to bounce back. Apart from a reliable winger, they should look to invest in a quality striker as well, who can find the back of the net regularly.

Joe Cole Chelsea transfer targets

Pundit drops names of Chelsea transfer targets, should Spurs have to sell - The Boy Hotspur
Description

The idea of Tottenham Hotspur being relegated is a grim one, but it suddenly becomes all the more unpalatable when considering where some of our first-team players could be playing next season. Joe Cole, a former Chelsea player, has run his rule over whom the Blues might snap up. After all, there will be no control over where players might resurface.

“With Spurs, you’re looking at the players who are not playing at the moment, because there aren’t many in the team at the moment that I’d pick. Micky van de Ven is probably the only one for me from the team that played at the weekend. I’d take James Maddison and [Mohammed] Kudus when they’re back fit. Archie Gray is one for the future.”

Back-page speculation is currently rife, with Micky van de Ven wanted by many. He’s a standout performer with a high market value. His likely destinations would include Barcelona (who have a strong interest as a ball-playing CB), Manchester United, Liverpool, or Real Madrid.

Mohammed Kudus has indeed been impressive in flashes, and Premier League suitors such as Manchester United and or Chelsea would be in the mix.

James Maddison possibly has a fair amount of catching up to do, in terms of attracting serious suitors, given his age and time out of the game.]

Archie Gray remains a standout prospect for any major side, and he, too, would benefit from some stability.

Spurs could lose £200m+ in player value/sales to balance books, relying heavily on youth and cheap reinforcements for a promotion push. Even without relegation, squad changes are expected, but the drop would accelerate a near-total rebuild.

Randal Kolo Muani "Dog chasing a balloon!"

Video: Spurs player likened to “a dog chasing a balloon” - The Boy Hotspur
Description

After Tottenham’s match against Leeds, talkSPORT’s Paul Hawksbee ripped into Randal Kolo Muani’s performance with the memorable line: “Dog chasing a balloon!”

The analogy paints a picture of a player who’s energetic and running around a lot but completely directionless, unfocused, and ineffective—like a dog excitedly chasing something with no real purpose or end goal. It’s brutal but vivid, and it’s gone pretty viral on social media.

Kolo Muani (on loan or signed by Spurs, depending on the exact window) had a poor outing against Leeds, and Hawksbee wasn’t holding back on the rant. Spurs fans are feeling frustrated, especially when results aren’t going their way.

Randal Kolo Muani has had a largely underwhelming 2025-26 season at Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan from PSG.

He joined Spurs in early September 2025 and has featured regularly as a forward (often as a starter or impact sub), wearing the No. 39 shirt. However, his output in the Premier League has been modest compared to his stronger showings earlier in his career (e.g., at Eintracht Frankfurt or on loan at Juventus).

Kolo Muani’s Spurs stint has been disappointing in the league relative to expectations for a France international with his pedigree, though he has contributed more positively in Europe. With the loan ending in June 2026, his future, be it a permanent move or return to PSG, will likely depend on how the season finishes and any buy option or negotiations.

The clip is all over TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and X right now.

Tottenham ‘serious’ about landing £43m star with 27 goal contributions this season - The Boy Hotspur
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign Serhou Guirassy from Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old Guinea International has been outstanding for the German club, and he has 27 goal contributions in 45 matches this season. He could prove to be an excellent acquisition for Tottenham, who are in desperate need of a reliable goal scorer.

Dominic Solanke has not been able to find the back of the net regularly, and the 30-year-old striker could help share the goal-scoring burden.

Serhou Guirassy is open to a move

The player is reportedly open to a new adventure and believes this could be his final opportunity to secure a lucrative contract at a big club. The move to Tottenham could be ideal for him. He would get to compete at a higher level, and Tottenham have an exciting project. Despite their struggles this season, they have quality players and a quality manager.

The 30-year-old will be excited about the possibility of joining them.

Guirassy asking price revealed

According to a report from FussballDaten, Tottenham are ‘serious’ about signing the player, and he will cost around £43 million. It remains to be seen whether they are prepared to pay that much for the 30-year-old.

Even though he would be a short-term acquisition, he could be a game-changer for them. He has been a reliable finisher in the Bundesliga, and he has the technical attributes to thrive in England as well. A quality striker like him could make a big difference for Tottenham in the final third and help them bounce back strongly next season.

They are fighting for survival in the Premier League, and they will not want to be in a similar position next year. A club of their stature should be pushing for a place in the top four every season.
