After deciding late that he wanted a career in sports journalism, Daniel worked his way up the ladder in an unconventional manner.

Having opted against university, Daniel worked with Sky Sports as a freelance contributor and translator during transfer windows while also volunteering on several other blog pages and outlets to get a portfolio of content together.

Daniel then worked with Barnet FC as part of their social media team before, starting his own website which focused on football and MMA content.

That eventually led to work with 90min and Reach PLC with The Mirror, Daily Record, Daily Express, and Manchester Evening News.

Following that, Daniel spent two-and-a-half years with Breaking Media covering Everton, Rangers, Leeds, West Ham and other clubs before joining GIVEMESPORT as a Premier League editor.

As well as football, Daniel is a huge MMA fan and has appeared on YouTube and podcast content too.

Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt another blow after a highly sought-after candidate for a senior role at the club rejected their approach, according to Miguel Delaney.

Spurs have had a nightmare campaign and after losing sporting director Fabio Paratici just months after his return as he moved back to Serie A, the club were then forced to sack Thomas Frank with the team in a relegation battle, where they now sit just one point above the drop zone following just one win in seven under interim boss Igor Tudor. But while the search for another new manager this season continues, with Tudor expected to leave imminently, the club are also looking for a new sporting director, but have been turned down by their first-choice option for the role.

Tottenham Rejected by Dougie Freedman

Dougie Freedman departed Crystal Palace to move to Saudi Arabia with Al-Diriyah a little over a year ago, with his big reputation preceding him in England.

Now, Spurs have been keen to bring the 51-year-old back to the Premier League to lead their recruitment team and take over from Paratici, with contact made between the club and Freedman earlier this month.

However, with the club battling against relegation and floating in the uncertainty of consortia looking to take over from the Lewis Family, it has now emerged that Freedman has opted against a return to London and will instead stay in Saudi Arabia. Now, Spurs will be forced to start looking elsewhere as they plan to replace Paratici, although their hunt may now wait until the summer when their Premier League status has either been confirmed or lost.

Tottenham Must Appoint Wisely

Some of the decisions at Tottenham in recent years have been questionable, but the last 12 months in particular have been really bad. Thomas Frank was a questionable managerial appointment considering his style of play and lack of experience at the top level. The club then decided to bring Paratici back just for him to walk out months later, then Frank was replaced by Igor Tudor, which has been a total disaster. Now, the decision makers can't afford to get it wrong yet again, and with Freedman turning them down, it's clearly a tough sell for them. GIVEMESPORT asked ChatGPT who Tottenham should consider appointing since the latest blow, and this was its response:

Tim Steidten – Strong recruitment track record; data-driven, suits long-term squad building.

Paul Mitchell – Premier League experience, elite talent ID, Spurs familiarity.

Luis Campos – Proven at top clubs; excels in uncovering high-upside attackers.

Tottenham Eyeing Move to Sign ‘Strongest Defender in Serie A’, Club Open to Sale - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are among the Premier League clubs tracking Roma defender Evan Ndicka ahead of the summer, according to reports.

The north London side are keeping close tabs on the Ivory Coast international, with Roma prepared to listen to offers north of €45million (£39m) after the season.

Ndicka has no shortage of suitors across Europe, with Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona also among those monitoring the central defender.

The 26-year-old joined Roma from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 and is under contract until the summer of 2028.

Tottenham Monitoring Evan Ndicka

According to CaughtOffside, Ndicka is emerging as a player to watch ahead of the summer transfer window, with competition for his signature heating up.

The 26-year-old, praised as ‘the strongest defender in Serie A’, made his 120th appearance for Roma last weekend in their 1-0 win over Lecce and has enjoyed a particularly impressive run of form recently.

After scoring his first-ever Serie A goal in Roma’s 3-0 win over Cremonese last month, Ndicka found the back of the net in the following two games as well, registering three goals in his last four league appearances.

The Paris-born defender has started every Serie A game for Roma this season when available, missing five matches while away with Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations in December.

Spurs Preparing for Cristian Romero's Exit?

Tottenham’s rumoured interest in Ndicka is hardly surprising, given the north London side may be in the market for a new central defender to replace captain Cristian Romero this summer.

The Argentine has been heavily linked with a departure in recent weeks, with journalist Fabrizio Romano revealing that several top European clubs have already started making calls for the defender.

Romero, who is under contract until the summer of 2029, was targeted by Atletico Madrid last summer, and the Spanish side are believed to have maintained their interest since.

Could Ndicka Replace Cristian Romero?

Amid Tottenham’s admiration for Ndicka, we asked ChatGPT whether the Ivorian could be seen as a replacement for Romero this summer:

Liverpool Hold Surprise Talks Over Signing ‘Outstanding’ Tottenham Player - GiveMeSport
Description

Liverpool have discussed a potential summer move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic, who is spending the season on loan at Hamburg, according to German publication Bild.

The Anfield side are believed to be among several European clubs monitoring the highly promising Croatian centre-back amid his impressive debut season in the Bundesliga.

Vuskovic is unlikely to play for Spurs next season amid their looming threat of Premier League relegation, as he reportedly wants to test himself in a continental competition.

Tottenham signed Vuskovic back in 2023, but the 'outstanding' Croatian only officially joined Spurs last summer, penning a deal until June 2030.

Liverpool Eyeing Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic

According to Bild, several Champions League clubs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid, are now seriously considering Vuskovic following his impressive first season at Hamburg.

The 19-year-old defender is considered a ‘mega-talent’ in European football and appears to be a concrete target for Barcelona, with former midfielder Ivan Rakitic recommending the club sign him.

Real Madrid reportedly view Vuskovic as a potential alternative to Liverpool’s own Ibrahima Konate, who remains of interest to Los Blancos ahead of his contract expiry.

If Konate ends up leaving Anfield this summer, the Reds are likely to target a replacement and have already internally discussed a potential move for Vuskovic.

Liverpool Working on Salah Replacement

Liverpool appear to be heading for another busy summer transfer window as they look to replace Mohamed Salah following his bombshell exit announcement.

On Tuesday, the Egyptian forward shared an emotional goodbye video on his social media accounts, confirming that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

Liverpool’s search for Salah’s successor appears to be well underway, with both RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise on the radar.

The Reds oversaw an unprecedented summer of spending in 2025, splashing out £415m on new arrivals, including a club-record £125m on striker Alexander Isak.

Why Top Clubs Want Luka Vuskovic

Amid growing interest in Vuskovic around Europe, we asked ChatGPT to outline the qualities that make the 19-year-old defender stand out in today’s game:

'Perfect' Manager Ready to Take Tottenham Job After Two Other Bosses Reject it - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur may have moved a step closer to hiring Igor Tudor's immediate replacement with Sean Dyche ready to take the job now for the remainder of the season, according to TEAMtalk.

Sunday's defeat to Nottingham Forest was a catastrophe given Vitor Pereira's men started the day below Spurs in the table, with the north Londoners now just one place and point above London rivals West Ham United in the bottom three.

Ahead of their trip to Sunderland after the international break and with just seven matches left to play, an unthinkable relegation to the Championship is now a distinct genuine possibility for Tottenham.

Without a league win in 2026, they are in desperate need of some confidence and momentum ahead of their trip to the Stadium of Light, which could come with a managerial change.

Tottenham Considering Dyche Appointment

Reports on Friday afternoon suggested that Tottenham were ready to make an SOS call to Dyche as they consider replacements for Tudor to steer them away from trouble.

Those claims have been corroborated by TEAMtalk, who also claim that Dyche is willing to take on the role.

Ironically, the 54-year-old left Tottenham's relegation rivals Forest last month, but the job with Spurs could allow him to help relegate his former employers.

Tudor's future has been clouded by the death of his father this week, with the north Londoners yet to make a final decision on whether he will leave the club before their next match or not.

Two Managers Reject Tottenham Role

The potential move for Dyche, who has been described as the 'perfect' man for the job by pundit Darren Bent, comes on the back of Tottenham failing to convince Roberto De Zerbi to take the job now.

The Italian is available after leaving Marseille last month, but while he is open to the Spurs job he wants to wait until the summer before making a decision on his next move.

The former Brighton boss has rejected a fresh approach from Tottenham this week to take the job now, with the 46-year-old the main candidate alongside Mauricio Pochettino if the club's search does reach the summer, as per GIVEMESPORT sources.

De Zerbi isn't the only one to turn them down in recent times, with former striker Robbie Keane also rejecting the chance to take over on an interim basis for the rest of the season.

The Republic of Ireland international is currently in Hungary with Ferencvaros and attempting to win successive league titles.

What Values Would Dyche Bring to Tottenham?

To supplement our analysis on Dyche, we leveraged AI-assisted analysis to deep-dive into the values he would introduce should Tottenham appoint him.

Defensive organisation: Clear structure, compact shape, and disciplined positioning to stop conceding soft goals

Pragmatism: Focus on results over style; prioritises points and survival rather than attractive football

Mental toughness: Demands accountability, resilience, and a no-excuses mindset

Work rate: High physical effort; players must track back, press, and win duels

Simplicity: Straightforward tactics and roles, reducing confusion and overthinking

Direct attacking play: Quicker, more vertical football with crosses and early forward passes

Set-piece efficiency: Strong emphasis on corners and free kicks as key goal sources

Consistency: Establishes reliable patterns of play the team can fall back on

Merit-based selection: Reputation matters less than effort and form

Short-term stabilisation: Aims to make the team hard to beat and grind out results quickly

Tottenham to Let 'Ridiculous' Star Leave Club Whether They're Relegated or Not

Tottenham to Let 'Ridiculous' Star Leave Club Whether They're Relegated or Not - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham have decided that they will allow one first-team star to leave the club this summer, regardless of whether they are relegated or stay in the Premier League, according to TEAMtalk.

The north London club have had a season to forget so far, and currently sit just one point above the relegation zone with seven games remaining, and are currently searching for someone to replace interim boss Igor Tudor to try and change their fortunes around.

But despite the uncertainty surrounding their status in the top-flight, Spurs are already making plans for the summer transfer window for things they can control, and that includes allowing people to leave.

Tottenham Make Yves Bissouma Decision

Several first-team stars are expected to attract major interest in the upcoming transfer window, with the club set to be without European football entirely next season.

The club are desperate to keep much of the squad together despite that, and especially if they are able to avoid relegation, but they have now made a decision on the future of controversial midfielder Yves Bissouma.

The Mali international, described as 'ridiculous', has had a torrid season individually, with limited appearances in the first team following a string of off-field issues, including being dropped for being late under Thomas Frank.

The 29-year-old is out of contract in north London at the end of the season, but the Lilywhites hold the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months to retain his value in the market. However, a decision has now been made that they won't trigger that option, and will instead allow him to leave on a free transfer after four relatively disappointing years at the club.

Clubs in France, Turkey, USA, and Saudi Arabia have all shown an interest in the former Brighton star, but previous Premier League interest has faded.

Bissouma is Easily Replaceable

When Bissouma arrived, it was expected that he could take his career to the next level, and also help Spurs to improve. But he struggled massively to make the step up, and a move away now seems to suit all parties.

But for Tottenham, replacing him is unlikely to be a major issue. The club already have the likes of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray making an impact despite their age, while Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr and young Callum Olusesi are also around. Then the club still have a decision to make on loanee Joao Palhinha.

GIVEMESPORT asked ChatGPT who could be a potential option to come in as a signing, should the club still feel they need more, and this was its response:

Tottenham Must Avoid Rare Agreement To Appoint World Class Manager Now

Tottenham Can Secure Rare Agreement To Appoint World-Class Manager - But There's A Problem - GiveMeSport
Description

Mauricio Pochettino is the standout candidate to become Tottenham's next permanent manager.

There, I said it.

GIVEMESPORT understands that Pochettino and Roberto De Zerbi are the two preferred options when it comes to appointing a new head coach in the summer.

And of those two, Pochettino is the clear choice.

After back-to-back seasons struggling at the bottom of the Premier League table - with no guarantees as yet as to which division Spurs will be playing in next season - morale in and around the club is at its lowest.

Tottenham Have Major Problems On And Off The Pitch

The Tottenham supporters turned up in their droves to welcome the team to the stadium and produced an electric atmosphere inside the ground for last weekend's crunch six-pointer with Nottingham Forest, only to see the players produce a dismal performance in a 3-0 defeat.

That show of support was not in-keeping with the general apathy towards the club in recent weeks and months, with supporters desperate for change, not just in the playing squad, but at the very top of the club, too.

The disconnect between the club and their fans is greater than it has been for many years and Pochettino is the man to bring everyone back together.

The Argentinian was a much-loved character in north London during his five-year spell from 2014 to 2019, turning Spurs into Premier League title challengers and even guiding the club to the final of the UEFA Champions League.

He may not be able to get everyone onside and singing from the same hymn sheet immediately, but his appointment would at least get a fanbase that has fallen out of love with their club back together and invested in the team once more. He is an easy figure for people to get behind, given his relationship with and clear love for the club. The fans sing his name at most matches, showing he is cherished still.

Could Spurs Make A Permanent Appointment Before The Season Ends?

Tottenham need to remain a Premier League club first and foremost and there are internal discussions about relieving Igor Tudor of his duties and bringing in a third different head coach this season.

Another interim appointment would be the obvious choice, but there has been talk around making a permanent appointment now and handing the new boss a huge bonus for keeping the club in the Premier League.

Roberto De Zerbi has been touted as an option, although the Italian is keen to wait until the summer to assess all of his options. Robbie Keane has also been named, and while he could come in as an interim appointment, the Irishman is keen on a permanent role if he was to leave Ferencvaros. Sean Dyche has also emerged as a potential candidate, with Spurs considering an SOS call to the former Burnley, Everton and Nottingham Forest boss.

The problem with Pochettino has always been that he is contracted to the US Men's National Team until the end of the World Cup and therefore not available to join Spurs - should they want him - until some time in July. Pochettino has a huge job on his hands this summer, guiding the USA at their home tournament, although there have been suggestions that he could do what Michael O'Neill has done in being in charge of Northern Ireland and Blackburn Rovers and complete a job share and get Tottenham out of trouble in the meantime, before focusing all his energy on the USA.

The USA set out to appoint a "world-class" coach when making the decision to give the job to Pochettino and GIVEMESPORT understands the USA would be reluctant to allow him to take up any sort of job share with Spurs, particularly right now, in the midst of an international break when they play Belgium and Portugal.

Pochettino Is Not A Short-Term Fix For Tottenham

Tottenham need someone to focus all their energy on the Lilywhites and their bid to avoid relegation, something Pochettino could not do in a job share.

Then there's Pochettino's early record in jobs.

In his first year as US head coach he was criticised for the way the team were playing and the results they were getting. He had the same when he took over at Spurs in 2014, even going so far as to say he feared he would have to pack his bags and leave until a win over Aston Villa turned things around.

His start to life at Chelsea did not exactly go smoothly, although he did turn things around and manage to get the Blues into European competition by the end of the campaign, something that had looked highly unlikely for much of the season.

Pochettino is undoubtedly an excellent manager and is the right appointment for the long-term in N17, but Spurs need results now and Pochettino may not be able to deliver.

Tottenham Want to Sign Sunderland Star Lutsharel Geertruida

Tottenham Want to Sign 'Extraordinary' Premier League Star Compared to Sergio Ramos - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are already planning on ways to strengthen their squad for next season if they avoid relegation to ensure they're not in the same situation next year.

The north London club currently sit just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League with seven games remaining, following a 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest before the international break, which has seen interim boss Igor Tudor's job come into serious question.

But despite that wary position in the league table, Spurs are keeping an eye on potential market situations to help strengthen the squad and make up for expected exits during the summer transfer window, including this Premier League star.

Tottenham Eyeing Lutsharel Geertruida

Spurs are anticipating big interest in Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven this summer as they look set to go without European football, and that means the defence has been earmarked for bolstering during the window.

That has led to the club turning their attention to Sunderland loanee Lutsharel Geertruida, who could be available for around £20m from RB Leipzig after impressing in England this season, according to TEAMtalk.

Capable of playing at right-back, centre-back and even in defensive midfield, the Netherlands international has been a big part of the Black Cats' campaign which has seen them avoid an immediate return to the Championship, and his performances have caught the attention of some other clubs in the division.

Sunderland retain an option to make the deal permanent, but it also needs sign-off from the player, and while he is happy on Wearside, he is also open to listening to interest from other clubs, including Spurs.

Tottenham are keeping close tabs on the 25-year-old, who has been described as 'extraordinary' and compared to Sergio Ramos, and could make a move to bring him to north London if they stay up and key players depart.

Geertruida to Replace Romero or Van de Ven?

Tottenham are expected to oversee mass change this summer, including a new manager, and bringing in players with experience who can adapt quickly could be key to a good season.

Geertruida can offer that, while first-team football could be the difference in convincing him to move or stay at Sunderland, or move to another club.

His versatility will undoubtedly be a big reason why clubs are taking an interest in him too, and GIVEMESPORT asked ChatGPT how he could fit into the Spurs squad if he joined, and this was its response:

David Ornstein Issues Update on Tottenham Appointing Sean Dyche

David Ornstein Shares Update on Tottenham Appointing Sean Dyche to Replace Tudor - GiveMeSport
Description

It remains unclear whether Sean Dyche would be open to replacing Igor Tudor as Tottenham Hotspur manager until the end of the season, journalist David Ornstein has revealed.

The 54-year-old manager was linked with the north London hotseat this week, but Ornstein suggests Dyche’s coaching style may not necessarily be what Spurs are looking for at the moment.

Tottenham have not ruled out sacking Tudor before the end of the campaign amid their precarious Premier League position, with the club sitting 17th in the table, one point above the relegation zone.

Dyche is available following his sacking at Nottingham Forest in February, where he oversaw just 25 games, winning 10.

Ornstein, speaking on the Back Pages podcast, revealed that it remains unclear whether Dyche would take the Tottenham job at this point in the season:

“Well, it’s an emergency at Spurs, and desperate times call for desperate measures. I’m not saying that in a derogatory way towards Sean Dyche as well, he’s an excellent coach and has proved as a manager with his record in the Premier League and in football full stop.

“But, you wouldn’t immediately have him down as a candidate to manage Tottenham Hotspur in terms of style and in terms of the clubs that he’s managed so far, and where Tottenham traditionally see themselves. But he’s available. Whether he would take it or not, it’s not clear.”

Tudor’s future at Spurs has been a hot topic in recent weeks after the Croatian lost five of his seven games in all competitions, picking up just a single point in the league.

Last weekend, Tottenham fell to a 3-0 home defeat to relegation rivals Nottingham Forest, who turned to former Wolves manager Vitor Pereira following Dyche’s sacking in February.

Dyche won six of his 18 Premier League games in charge of the Tricky Trees and was fired after a winless run of three.

Roberto De Zerbi Appointment Ruled Out

Tottenham have also been linked with appointing Roberto De Zerbi in recent days, but it appears the Italian manager is likely to wait until the summer before choosing his next club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 46-year-old looks set to keep his options open until after the season and may consider joining Spurs if they avoid Premier League relegation.

De Zerbi left his role as Marseille manager in January following the French club’s exit from the Champions League and a heavy 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Prior to his appointment at Stade Velodrome, the Italian tactician spent two years at Brighton and took the Seagulls to sixth in the Premier League in the 2022/23 season –the club’s highest top-flight finish to date.

Tottenham Considering SOS Call to Hire 54-Year-Old Manager Instead of De Zerbi - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are considering making a move to appoint Sean Dyche for the final seven games of the season to save them from relegation, according to The Telegraph.

Spurs currently sit just one point outside the relegation zone following a 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, who ironically sacked Dyche the day after Tottenham sacked Thomas Frank due to what they perceived to be bad results.

The north London club brought in Igor Tudor on an interim basis to replace the Dane, but he has won just one of seven games since taking over, and none in the Premier League, which has led to the club looking for alternatives to ensure the campaign doesn't get any worse.

Tottenham Consider Sean Dyche Move

Club chiefs had been keen to bring in Roberto De Zerbi immediately rather than waiting until the summer, but the Italian is standing firm on his preference to only come in for next season if they are still in the Premier League, which has left Spurs looking at alternatives.

Dyche is someone who has earned the moniker of a 'relegation escape artist' having overseen several battles against the drop throughout his career, including in both of his recent seasons in charge of Everton.

His pragmatic and direct style is often hard to beat, and Spurs may need that in order to avoid the drop. Their next Premier League game against Sunderland could see them enter in the relegation zone, depending on West Ham's result against Wolves two days earlier.

Tottenham Chiefs Must Prioritise Survival

In an ideal world, relegation wouldn't be a real issue for Spurs and their attention would be on a new manager for next season. But it is a real danger for them, and unless they address it properly, they may well find themselves in the Championship.

Dyche is someone who would certainly come in and steady the ship, and while he wouldn't be a good fit for the long-term strategy, he is arguably perfect for where they are right now and ensuring that long-term strategy isn't forced to change because of relegation.

Tottenham Have Perfect Opportunity To Appoint Title-Winning Manager Now - GiveMeSport
Description

With more than two weeks until Tottenham play again, now is the perfect time to make a change in the dugout - the second this season - to save the season and the Lilywhites' Premier League status.

Igor Tudor has failed in his mission as a firefighter coming in to rescue the club, as he has done on a number of occasions elsewhere, failing to win any of his five Premier League games in charge yet.

That has seen Spurs sink deeper into the relegation mire, now just one point and one place above the bottom three and staring down the barrel of a first relegation out of the top flight since 1977.

Roberto De Zerbi Linked With Permanent Tottenham Job

And while now may be the perfect time to make another change, Spurs may have the perfect candidate who has found the ideal time to make the move too.

Tottenham wanted to avoid bringing in a permanent manager until the summer, hoping that an interim boss would see them through until the end of the season when they could reassess and have their pick of available options.

That has not gone to plan, though, and while another interim could be on the cards, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Tottenham employ a permanent head coach now. Roberto De Zerbi has been mentioned in dispatches with that very role, although the Italian remains keen on waiting until the summer.

But why not make a move for someone who already has a list of honours to his managerial name bigger than De Zerbi and who, crucially, has a connection with Spurs in Robbie Keane?

Keane Has The Honours To Prove He Is A Better Choice Than De Zerbi

According to reports, Tottenham have already held talks with Keane about the role and his past with the club and love for the club is something seen as vital at this period in time, to get the players fighting with every breath.

Keane won the Israeli Premier League with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2023/24 and then won the Hungarian League with Ferencvaros last season. He could do so again with Ferencvaros this season, although his side are three points behind Gyor, albeit with a game in hand.

Keane may not want to leave Ferencvaros in the lurch, particularly with a chance to win the title again on his hands, but it could be the perfect time for Spurs to make a move now they are out of the UEFA Europa League.

The Hungarian side were fighting on two fronts in the league and Europe until they were knocked out of the Europa League by Braga at the last 16 stage last week.

If he feels like the job is done, now could be the time for Tottenham to make their move. And were he to be offered the Tottenham job, he would go with Ferencvaros' blessing.

Keane Would Be Allowed To Leave Ferencvaros Without Any Issues

Ferencvaros chief executive Pal Orosz said this week: "He can win and motivate a lot, the players believe in him and that is the most important thing. A real leader.

"If he really was mentioned with Tottenham, then we are proud, because in this way we made the right choice. And he also wanted to come here, and that is why he left his mark here."

Keane enjoyed an impressive career with Tottenham as a player, becoming a legend at the club with 122 goals in 306 appearances for the north London club over nine seasons. He would be a popular choice with supporters to return to the club.
