Description

Manchester United and Tottenham could go head-to-head when it comes to signing one of the Premier League's breakout stars this summer.

United are in the market for at least two central midfielders during the summer transfer window, with Atalanta star Ederson likely to be the first signing under Michael Carrick.

Tottenham, meanwhile, will need to strengthen their squad following back-to-back 17th-placed finishes in the Premier League, with new head coach Roberto De Zerbi looking to make quick moves in the window to put together a group he thinks can challenge towards the top of the table, rather than the bottom.

Alex Scott enjoyed a fine season for Bournemouth

Both teams have been linked with a move for Bournemouth star Alex Scott, who enjoyed something of a breakthrough campaign for the Cherries this year.

The 22-year-old was a regular starter under Andoni Iraola, only missing the final game of the season, named in the starting lineup for 34 of the 37 other matches in the Premier League. He scored three goals - with another coming in the FA Cup - and made one assist, picking up the Supporters' Player of the Year award.

GIVEMESPORT senior football correspondent Ben Jacobs said last month: "Tottenham are one of the clubs looking at Bournemouth's Alex Scott.

"He's on Manchester United's radar too, but once again, as I've said many times, Bournemouth are calm about that situation and are hoping to offer Scott a new deal."

However, as time has moved on, it may be that Scott is now available to complete a move away from the Vitality Stadium this summer, with a report from the Athletic stating that "an extension is seen as unlikely".

How much Bournemouth will demand to sell Scott

The Athletic report goes on to state that United have made inquiries as to the cost of a deal, with Scott having just two years left to run on his current deal on the south coast. It is thought Bournemouth would demand around £60million to even consider selling the midfielder who has been described as "elite" by Nigel Pearson, who was his manager at Bristol City before moving to Bournemouth.

Pearson said: "He's a unique talent. I've heard him compared to lots of players, but Alex is just a top-class young player who has a very level head. He will go on to play for England, I have absolutely no doubt about that. He is destination elite."

Spurs may hold an advantage over United, should they look to pursue a move, given Scott grew up as a Tottenham fan.

Speaking after scoring against Arsenal, he said: "Yes, I support Tottenham, though that doesn't have much to do with today. But growing up as a kid, it was definitely a dream for me [to score against Arsenal]. Bournemouth are my team at the minute but I was a Tottenham fan growing up, so as a kid growing up, I would have been really happy with that."

Alongside Savinho: Tottenham Eyeing 'Unbelievably Fast' £60m Winger as Priority - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham are in the market to sign a new winger ahead of the summer transfer window after they look to improve on a disappointing season.

It's been a disastrous few years for the North London club, enduring back-to-back relegation battles despite winning the Europa League during that period.

Reinforcements will be necessary in the upcoming window if they want to head back in the right direction, and there's no doubt they'll be looking to back the manager.

Roberto De Zerbi arrived towards the end of the 2025/2026 season, guiding them away from the relegation zone.

Spurs improved drastically under the new manager, and it could be exciting times ahead if the club look to back De Zerbi in the transfer market.

Tottenham Eyeing New Winger

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are one of the sides showing an interest in signing Frankfurt winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya in the summer transfer window.

Spurs have reportedly identified him as a priority addition for the summer market, but it's not going to be an easy deal for them to complete.

The Bundesliga side are believed to value Bahoya at around £60m, with his contract not expiring until 2029.

The 21-year-old, described as 'unbelievably fast', has previous interest from Saudi Pro League sides Al Hilal and Al Ittihad, so Tottenham will likely need to cough up a fair chunk of money to secure his signature.

It still remains unclear whether Bahoya would be interested in a move to Tottenham, while Frankfurt aren't going to let him go easily.

Tottenham Need Reinforcements All Over

It appears Tottenham are in the market for a new winger this summer, but it certainly shouldn't be the only position they look to strengthen.

Spurs need reinforcements all over the pitch heading into the window, especially after such a disastrous few years in the Premier League.

It remains to be seen what their priority position will be in the summer, but there's no doubt there could be multiple positions that they target early in the window.

GIVEMESPORT sources understand that both Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson are set to join the North London club, adding experience and solidity to their defence.

Tottenham Eye Bargain Deal To Sign Marcus Rashford

Tottenham Eye Bargain Deal To Sign Marcus Rashford - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are keen to add more experience to Roberto De Zerbi's ranks after avoiding relegation to the Championship last month.

Spurs retained their Premier League status with a 1-0 win over Everton on the final day of the campaign as London rivals West Ham United were relegated.

Plans are now in motion to strengthen their squad for a full season under De Zerbi. The North London outfit have already agreed deals for Liverpool defender Andy Robertson and Bournemouth's Marcos Senesi - with both moves just awaiting official confirmation.

Both players will join on free transfers with their contracts at their respective clubs to expire at the end of this month.

Now Spurs are in the market for more bargains and are interested in a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

Tottenham eye move for Marcus Rashford

That is according to a report from the i Paper, who claim Rashford is of interest as Spurs look to add Premier League experience to their squad.

Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona as he helped the Spanish giants retain the La Liga title. However, Barca's £69million move to sign Anthony Gordon last week may stop them going through with their option to buy deal.

Rashford has played 297 times in the Premier League and scored 97 goals along with providing 42 assists. Rashford is also attracting interest from Newcastle United and Aston Villa.

The England international spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Villa. Newcastle, meanwhile, see him as a potential replacement for Gordon.

No offers have been tabled to United as things stand.

Marcus Rashford prefers Barcelona move

According to the report, Rashford's preference is to return to Barcelona. The La Liga outfit have a £26million option to buy the player but that expires on June 15.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick, sporting director Deco and president Joan Laporta all want the player to return to the La Liga champions.

While the Spanish club do want to keep Rashford, they do not want to spend the £26million and are more likely to offer £15million to United after June 15.

The Red Devils are relaxed about the situation and believe interest from other clubs gives them a better chance of selling Rashford for £26million, which in itself is a bargain price for a player of his quality and experience.

If Rashford does not leave the Red Devils before pre-season, he is expected to report to Carrington after the World Cup.

He is under contract with United until 2028, with wages worth £325,000-a-week.

Rashford, who Gordon labelled as 'one of the best players in the world', would upgrade Tottenham's attack and provide the experience the club wants this summer.

Barca's unwillingness to meet the £26million fee gives Spurs an opening to bring the player to North London.

Tottenham Consider Move For Third Free Transfer Of The Summer

Tottenham Consider Move For Third Free Transfer Of The Summer - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham look set to confirm two new signings on free transfers this summer, with Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi joining the club from Liverpool and Bournemouth respectively.

And there could be a third freebie of the window to add to Roberto De Zerbi's squad. According to reports, Tottenham are considering a move to sign Harry Wilson, following his departure from Fulham.

Spurs are making sensible moves in the transfer market, as De Zerbi looks to put his stamp on the ailing squad he inherited from Igor Tudor at the end of March. The Italian rescued the Lilywhites from relegation to the Championship on the final day of the season and he will be aiming to push Spurs up the Premier League table in 2026/27.

De Zerbi still has a big number of injuries at Tottenham

Robertson and Senesi will bolster a backline that conceded more goals last season than every team bar the bottom three, but De Zerbi needs players further up the pitch too.

With a number of players in attacking areas out injured - see Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski, Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert - De Zerbi will want to add attacking reinforcements this summer.

Wilson would certainly add a touch of class. The Welsh forward really came into his own this season, stepping forward as Fulham's main man in a campaign where the Whites only finished outside the top half on goal difference.

Wilson notched an impressive 10 goals and added seven assists in 36 matches, only missing two top-flight games. He was named inn the starting lineup for 32 of those matches, proving he was a player Marco Silva could count on.

Wilson had the season of his career at Fulham

Speaking earlier in the season, Silva said: "Right now, everything that he touches turns to something magic. Fans should just try to enjoy it. The numbers are incredible, but it's not just about the numbers, this season he's been incredible.

"He's humble, and a hard-worker always. I don't have doubts he is in the best moment of his career.”

Spurs may not have it all their own way when it comes to getting Wilson to put pen-to-paper on a deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Given his impressive campaign, there are likely to be other candidates for his signature, with Liverpool named as an interested party.

Wilson has been named by Spurs transfer writer Paul O'Keefe as being on Spurs' radar this summer as they look for forwards. Savinho has been most heavily linked recently.

Wilson's contract with Fulham expires at the end of June and at 29 years old he will be looking for what will probably be the last big contract of his career.

Tottenham Still Five Signings Away From De Zerbi's Dream Squad

Tottenham Still Five Signings Away From De Zerbi's Dream Squad - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham are planning a major overhaul of their playing squad this summer following back-to-back 17th-place finishes in the Premier League.

Spurs avoided relegation to the Championship on the final day of the season this year, beating Everton 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to stave off dropping down to playing second tier football for the first time since 1978.

Roberto De Zerbi was the saviour - Spurs' third head coach of the season doing the one thing that was asked of him when he arrived at the club at the end of March - rescuing them from the drop.

Now, the Italian will want to put his stamp on the squad and ensure the 2025/26 season never happens again. Owners the Lewis Family have already pledged investment in the playing squad, and it will need to be significant if De Zerbi's comments after the end of the season are anything to go by.

The Spurs boss said that he had "10, 11, 12 players good enough to stay". With a 25-man squad available for the Premier League, that suggests he might need at least 13 new players to come in, although he may not have been counting long-term injured stars or those out on loan in his assessment of the squad he inherited.

Tottenham have already agreed deals to sign defenders Andy Robertson from Liverpool and Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth, with the pari free agents after their contracts at Liverpool and Bournemouth respectively came to an end.

But where else does De Zerbi need to strengthen?

Goalkeeper and defender deals

It looks like Guglielmo Vicario will depart the club, with Inter Milan his most likely destination this summer. Club captain Cristian Romero is also expected to leave, while Spurs could also look to cash in on Radu Dragusin, who does not seem to fit under De Zerbi - nor any other manager truth be told.

Highly-rated centre-back Luka Vuskovic could be given a chance, but the likelihood is he will get another season on loan under his belt after signing a new contract with the club. Ben Davies looks set to stay and sign a new deal too.

A new No.1 goalkeeper, or another keeper to challenge the reinvigorated Antonin Kinsky is a must this summer. The likes of Bart Verbruggen, Anatoliy Trubin and Lucas Chevalier have all been linked.

With Robertson and Senesi coming in, there's probably space for one more centre-back. Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton would be the obvious - and best - choice, having played under De Zerbi before.

Robertson will be competition for Destiny Udogie at left-back, with Pedro Porro and Djed Spence the right-back options.

Midfield moving pieces at Tottenham

Joao Palhinha will return to Bayern Munich following the end of his loan spell, but De Zerbi has already admitted that he "100%" wants to sign him permanently. Palhinha also wants to return, with his preference on coming back to Spurs before heading to Sporting CP, who also want him.

With Conor Gallagher already signed in January and Rodrigo Bentancur showing his importance to the team when he returned from injury, there may not be too many more deals to be done in the two positions in front of the defence in De Zerbi's famous 4-2-3-1 formation.

Youngsters Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall will surely be trusted more following a pre-season with the Italian.

One other player from Brighton has been linked - Carlos Baleba. He is likely to cost upwards of £80million, but is another who knows how to play in De Zerbi's system and would be an upgrade on what Spurs already have.

Moving into the forward positions

De Zerbi has a plethora of options in the trio of positions behind the main striker in his new squad, although he is waiting on many of them to be fit.

Xavi Simons will probably be out until 2027, with Wilson Odobert not back until October at the earliest. Dejan Kulusevski was not see all season, but it is hoped he will return for the start of the season. Mohammed Kudus suffered a setback in his recovery, but he should be back for the start of the season too.

De Zerbi was able to call upon James Maddison in the final few weeks of the campaign, coming off the bench to make good cameo appearances when Spurs needed it most.

With Mathys Tel and the returning Mikey Moore to add to the mix, there is strength in depth in the positions in and around the main striker - particularly if they sign Savinho from Manchester City - but it is perhaps that No.9 that Tottenham need to upgrade the most.

Dominic Solanke has been another who has suffered with injuries this season and has not been able to get into any sort of rhythm, while Richarlison was Spurs' top scorer, but never really got into proper goalscoring form.

Both could leave, both could stay, but it is imperative that De Zerbi signs at least one, maybe two new frontmen this summer.

Forgotten Tottenham Star Now Set To Stay Under De Zerbi

Forgotten Tottenham Star Now Set To Stay Under De Zerbi - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham were set to say goodbye to six players at the start of the summer transfer window, with more potentially to follow them out of the exit door, but one of those that was expected to depart now looks set to stay.

Joao Palhinha and Randal Kolo Muani have headed back to their parent clubs following the end of their season-long loan deals, while out-of-contract stars Yves Bissouma and Ben Davies will also be saying farewell to north London.

Then, on the player sales side of things, Guglielmo Vicario and club captain Cristian Romero were the two most likely to leave, with there being a general acceptance that they would be allowed to depart should the right offer come in for them.

Begrudging transfer exit for Romero

GIVEMESPORT senior football correspondent Ben Jacobs said before the Premier League season ended: "I think Tottenham are resigned and almost prepared to endorse as well, certain exits and Vicario probably falls into a category of a mutual parting of ways, because I can foresee a situation where Tottenham go out in the market and try and sign a new number one goalkeeper.

"In the case of Cristian Romero it is a more begrudging exit in that even if Tottenham do stay up there is a concrete possibility that he goes."

However, now it looks like one of those players is going to stay and continue his love affair with Tottenham Hotspur.

That player is Ben Davies.

The Welshman has been with Tottenham for 12 years, having signed in a reported £10million deal from Swansea City in 2014. His contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is coming to an end this summer, with the 33-year-old able to leave the club on a free transfer.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel, after discussing Spurs' move to sign Savinho from Manchester City: "Ben Davies to sign a new contract."

Davies is a leader in the Tottenham dressing room

Davies has not played under new head coach Roberto De Zerbi, having broken his ankle in a game with West Ham in January. The Welshman was praised by fans during the controversy surrounding Romero's situation for the final game of the season with Everton, when it appeared that the injured skipper was not going to be in London for the match, instead going to Argentina to prepare for the World Cup.

Davies made it clear to De Zerbi he wanted to be with the squad prior to the match and on matchday, although it did transpire that Romero was there too.

De Zerbi had said: "Sometimes, not all the leaders are the same. Ben Davies spoke with me and asked to stay today to work with us. Tomorrow, we sleep in the hotel. He wanted to stay with the team and teammates."

The likelihood is Davies will put pen-to-paper on another one year deal to stay in N17.

Real Madrid Eyeing Move to Sign Tottenham Star Pedro Porro

Fabrizio Romano: Real Madrid Eyeing Move to Sign 'World-Class' Tottenham Star - GiveMeSport
Description

Real Madrid are eyeing a move to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Pedro Porro this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League thanks to a win over Everton on the final day of the season, and now manager Roberto De Zerbi is pushing to rebuild his squad and strengthen ahead of the next campaign.

But with the club facing a year without European football, several of their top stars are being targeted by clubs across the continent, and it has now emerged that even Spanish giants Madrid are taking a look at their squad.

Real Madrid Want Pedro Porro

According to the reliable Romano, Real Madrid have added Tottenham full-back Porro to their shortlist of options for the summer window.

Madrid are looking to strengthen at right-back after deciding against offering Dani Carvajal a new contract, meaning the Spaniard will depart this summer. Now they are looking for someone to compete with Trent Alexander-Arnold to be first-choice under new, incoming manager Jose Mourinho.

Porro, who has been described as 'world-class', is understood to be under consideration for the role, alongside Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries and Sporting CP full-back Ivan Fresneda.

Tottenham do not want to lose Porro, who has emerged as a key player in recent seasons, and started all seven games under Roberto De Zerbi, scoring a vital goal during the 2-2 draw with Brighton. It's understood that despite interest from Madrid and Man City, Spurs will 'do everything' to keep the Spain star in north London, with the manager and board viewing him as a key player.

Spurs Cannot Lose Porro

Tottenham know that they have a huge summer on the cards, and have already completed deals to strengthen their defence with the arrivals of Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi agreed.

But there is an expectation that captain Cristian Romero will be on the move, while there is also strong interest in centre-back Micky Van de Ven and Destiny Udogie. That would make losing Porro a major blow, because he is a leader within the squad, and also one of their better players.

De Zerbi knows what he needs, and Porro's skill set is very difficult to replace. It tells you a lot when Real Madrid are interested in a player, and Spurs must do all they can to keep him for as long as possible.

'Deal On' - Romano: Tottenham Progressing With Deal for 'Extraordinary' Star - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham are progressing in talks to secure a new signing ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

It looks set to be a busy summer transfer window for Spurs as they look to improve their squad following a disappointing couple of seasons.

Roberto De Zerbi's side narrowly avoided relegation in the 2025/2026 season, and they are already working on bringing in reinforcements for the new campaign.

This is De Zerbi's first transfer window since joining the club, so the hierarchy are looking to back him in the transfer market.

Tottenham have been busy in the summer market already, agreeing deals to sign both Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers.

According to a report from Romano, negotiations are ongoing for Savinho to join Tottenham, with talks progressing well ahead of the summer transfer window.

Tottenham believe that Savinho wants to join the club, with talks ongoing with Manchester City.

Savinho, who has been described as 'extraordinary', hasn't been a regular for Man City of late, starting just seven Premier League games for Man City during the 2025-2026 season.

Spurs tried to sign Savinho previously, but it appears they are now making another push to secure his signature.

Busy Summer Ahead for Tottenham

It looks set to be an incredibly busy summer ahead, given the start Tottenham have made to the transfer window.

Spurs appear to be working on three deals already, which is no surprise after the disappointing couple of years they've had.

The North London club need to back De Zerbi in the market if they want to get the best out of their current squad.

There's no doubt Tottenham need a host of additions if they want to turn from relegation battlers to European challengers once again, while they will likely have to replace some of their key stars after failing to qualify for Europe

Fabrizio Romano: 'World-Class' Star Giving Priority to Joining Tottenham This Summer

Fabrizio Romano: 'World-Class' Star Giving Priority to Joining Tottenham This Summer - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major boost for the summer transfer window after it emerged that Joao Palhinha has made joining them his priority, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs have already agreed deals to sign Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi this summer on a free transfer, with Roberto De Zerbi desperate to add some leadership and quality to his squad after narrowly avoiding relegation.

But the Italian is also looking to keep several key stars with his squad to keep some stability and continuity, and that includes Palhinha.

Palhinha Gives Tottenham Priority for Transfer

Palhinha, who has been described as 'world-class', spent last season with Spurs on loan from Bayern Munich, and scored vital goals to keep the club in the Premier League, including the winner on the final day of the season against Everton.

Reports in recent weeks have suggested that the Portugal international is set to leave Bayern permanently this summer, with terms agreed over a deal to see him return to Sporting CP, while they continue to negotiate with the Bundesliga club.

But Romano now reports that the 30-year-old midfielder is giving Tottenham his priority ahead of a potential return to the club, as he has a fantastic relationship with De Zerbi.

Spurs are yet to make a final decision on whether they want to keep him at the club permanently, despite the manager confirming that he is a big fan of the player. Should they opt to trigger their buy option, or find an agreement with Bayern, then the player will stay in north London.

However, if they decide against it, then Sporting CP are ready to make their interest concrete and take him back to Lisbon.

Tottenham Should Keep Palhinha Around

Spurs are planning for a very busy, and important summer transfer window. But while there may well be big changes on the horizon, De Zerbi will be aware that wholesale changes are not necessarily a good thing.

Palhinha has experience at the highest level, is in the prime of his career and clearly cares about the club and where they want to be. That's the type of character De Zerbi needs in his squad if he wants to take them back up the table and playing European football.

A deal is there to be done, with all parties clearly interested in making it happen. So if it doesn't, then the only people to blame will be the Lewis Family.

Tottenham Ready Formal Bid to Sign Hayden Hackney as Third Summer Transfer

Tottenham to Make Official Bid to Sign Next Declan Rice as Third Summer Transfer - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are readying a formal move to sign Middlesbrough star Hayden Hackney this summer, according to Scott Wilson of the Northern Echo.

Spurs avoided the disaster of relegation on the final day of the season with a 1-0 win over Everton, and now manager Roberto De Zerbi is pushing to add a number of new players to the squad in order to ensure they're not in this situation once again next season.

The club have already agreed contracts with both Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson to join on free transfers from Bournemouth and Liverpool, but now they are ready to start working on targets further up the pitch.

Tottenham Ready Hayden Hackney Move

Hackney, who has been compared to Arsenal star Declan Rice, enjoyed a fine campaign at the Riverside Stadium this season, being crowned Championship Player of the Year as the club reached the playoff final, only to suffer defeat the hands of Hull in the final minutes of stoppage time.

The 23-year-old is now expected to leave the club and make the step up to the Premier League, with a number of clubs showing a strong interest, as he enters the final year of his contract.

As a result, it's reported that Tottenham are expected to make a formal move to bring him in to north London, but they face stiff competition from the likes of Crystal Palace, who see him as a potential replacement for Adam Wharton, and Man Utd, who now have his former manager Michael Carrick in charge.

It's unclear how much he is valued at as things stand, but Spurs are ready to get a deal over the line by making an early play for his signature.

Hackney Could Star in New Era at Spurs

The arrival of De Zerbi, plus the fact they avoided relegation on the final day, should be the kickstart Tottenham Hotspur need in order to find themselves heading into a new era next season.

Yves Bissouma is set to leave when his contract expires, while Joao Palhinha has already agreed terms with Sporting CP to move on rather than join the club permanently. That leaves a hole in midfield that needs to be filled, and the England youth international has the potential and quality to step up.

It won't be an expensive deal to do, and it would be a big upgrade on current midfield options, while also leaving plenty of room for growth too. It smells like a no-brainer, and the club are ready to pull the trigger to get it done.
