Description

Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to advance on talks to add to their attacking department this summer, with AC Milan star Rafael Leao and Real Madrid forward Rodrygo among their targets, GIVEMESPORT sources understand.

The north London club have had a summer of change so far with Thomas Frank appointed to replace Ange Postecoglou as manager, while the Dane has brought in Kota Takai, Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha to strengthen the squad.

But Spurs must now deal with the fact that captain Heung-Min Son has revealed he will leave the club this summer, with GMS sources revealing that a move to LAFC is close to being finalised, and now they are looking to replace him.

Tottenham Keen on Rafael Leao

Deal likely to be too expensive currently

The club have already made Mathys Tel's loan move from Bayern Munich permanent this summer, but after James Maddison suffered what seems like a serious knee injury in their pre-season clash with Newcastle, new attacking reinforcements are desired.

One player who has been linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is Milan star Leao, and GMS sources understand that there is a genuine interest in the Portugal international, which has been registered with the Serie A club.

The 26-year-old is still valued highly at Milan ahead of next season, but he set tongues wagging after liking an Instagram post which confirmed his national team teammate Palhinha's move to the club. However, sources understand that a deal is currently seen as being too expensive and is being played down.

Another player the club have been linked to is Brazil international Rodrygo, who could be cheaper than Leao, but it remains to be seen if they firm up their interest in him.

Spurs have spread the net wide to come up with solutions in the latter part of the window, and GMS sources understand that they want to progress this week in their search for new attacking talent.

Tottenham Also Eyeing Grealish

£300,000-a-week wages could complicate deal

Another player who has been identified as a potential late target is Manchester City forward Jack Grealish, who has been made available for a loan or permanent move away from the Etihad Stadium after falling down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola.

However, the England star's £300,000-a-week wages could complicate any deal and that is why there has been limited movement on a deal to take him anywhere so far.

Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho is someone else the club have checked on in their bid to bolster the attack, but they haven't made any formal contact yet at this point.

Tottenham are exploring a potential summer move for Manchester City attacker Jack Grealish, journalist Ben Knapton has claimed.

The Europa League winners have reportedly submitted an immediate enquiry for the former Aston Villa forward following James Maddison’s injury blow.

Spurs lost the 28-year-old midfielder to a severe-looking injury in Saturday’s 1-1 friendly draw with Newcastle United and are believed to be in the market for a replacement.

While an official diagnosis on Maddison’s injury is yet to be confirmed, Tottenham are already without Dejan Kulusevski due to a knee problem and have reportedly identified Grealish as a potential solution to their injury woes.

Tottenham Eyeing Jack Grealish Deal

After James Maddison’s injury blow

According to Knapton, Tottenham have made immediate contact over a move for Grealish after Maddison’s injury and are believed to have leapfrogged Napoli in the race for the 29-year-old.

The Serie A champions were previously seen as the top contenders to sign Grealish before the transfer deadline, but are claimed to no longer be frontrunners, with interest from the North London club now emerging.

Grealish is expected to leave Man City either permanently or on loan this summer, having struggled to impress under Pep Guardiola last season.

The £300,000-a-week forward scored just three goals and registered five assists in 32 appearances for Man City, making only seven Premier League starts.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Grealish scored once in 20 Premier League games last term.

Tottenham have splashed out around £120m on new signings this summer, with Bayern Munich ace Joao Palhinha the latest arrival.

The Portuguese international joined on a season-long loan, with an option to make the deal permanent for £27m next summer.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be keeping 'very close tabs' on Paris Saint-Germain star Randal Kolo Muani, according to reports - with Thomas Frank keen on bolstering his front line amid news of an imminent departure to Los Angeles FC for club legend Son Heung-min.

Spurs landed Dominic Solanke last summer from Bournemouth as the eventual replacement for Harry Kane, with Spurs having failed to sign anyone to come into their ranks upon his Bayern Munich. But whilst Solanke didn't flop, they have now looked to Kolo Muani. He cost PSG an incredible £77million from Eintracht Frankfurt, moving in the summer of 2023 - though he has only scored 11 goals in 54 outings for the Parisian side in that time.

Report: Tottenham 'Keeping Tabs' on Kolo Muani, at the 'Front of the Queue'

The north London club are keen to continue signing players

The report by TBR Football claims that Tottenham are keeping 'very close tabs' on a move for Kolo Muani, given the expected departure of Son - having failed to land the France international in the January transfer window before his loan move to Serie A giants, Juventus.

The PSG star could still find his way back to the Old Lady, with Igor Tudor wanting to make a deal permanent for his services in the coming weeks of the transfer window, but talks with the Ligue 1 champions have not progressed well up until this stage, despite the 'explosive' attacker giving them his priority as he aims to leave the Parc des Princes.

With that in mind, Tottenham are waiting in the background as they eye a potential deal for the 26-year-old striker if he doesn't end up moving back to the Allianz Stadium on a permanent deal.

The Lilywhites are seen as being at the 'front of the queue' to sign Kolo Muani in case his move fails, but they don't wish to ruin their strong relationship with Juventus, which has seen the likes of Fabio Paratici, Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur swap Turin for north London in recent seasons.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Randal Kolo Muani has nine goals in 31 caps for the France national team.

Kolo Muani scored 10 goals in 22 appearances for Juventus last season, after Tottenham offered him a starring role in north London to become Son's long-term replacement in January - but the rejection saw them turn to Mathys Tel instead.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur could look to complete a major signing in midfield, after missing out on the capture of Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest in July - with Atletico Madrid star Conor Gallagher being touted for a move to north London.

Spurs looked set to bring in Gibbs-White after his £60million release clause was activated, though Forest felt their approach was 'illegal', and subsequently, he signed a new deal in the east Midlands, bringing Spurs back to the drawing board. And that could see them move for Gallagher, who featured in 51 games for them last season, albeit in a rotation role with just 19 starts in the league.

Report: Tottenham 'Willing to Make' Gallagher Bid, Atletico Would Consider

The Lilywhites are still keen on adding to their midfield

The report by Spanish outlet Fichajes states that Gallagher could be living out his final months at the Metropolitano Stadium, with the England international set to lose his prominence in Diego Simeone's squad after new signings arrived at the club.

It's been a busy summer in the red and white half of the Spanish capital, with no fewer than nine first-team arrivals, although the same amount of departures have occurred, leaving their squad at the level it was before. However, a key observation is that three first-team midfielders have arrived in Villarreal star Alex Baena, Johnny Cardoso and Thiago Almada - leaving Gallagher potentially in the lurch. That has interested Tottenham, and now Atletico are 'seriously considering' a departure for the star they signed from Chelsea last summer.

His reputation hasn't decreased in the Premier League, where Gallagher is highly valued for his tenacity and goalscoring knack - with Tottenham keen to add that to their squad, reportedly preparing a £43million bid as a result. The financial package is convincing for the La Liga outfit, and they would welcome a sale if it goes ahead at that price.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Conor Gallagher has 21 caps for England, scoring his only goal against Ireland back in November.

Gallagher is thought to 'not mind' a return to England, where he's already made strong impressions in his time at Chelsea and on loan at Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League - and for a side that has Champions League football and suits his playing style, a deal could be in the offing for the star, who was labelled as a 'maverick'.

Tottenham are exploring a potential summer move for Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado, Spanish publication SPORT has claimed.

The Lilywhites have reportedly made an initial approach regarding the 21-year-old Spanish international but are facing a difficult round of negotiations to try and bring Casado to North London.

The 'elite' holding midfielder is said to have no intention of leaving the Nou Camp this summer, and Barcelona would only open the door if they received a significant offer.

Casado is believed to have an asking price of €30m (£26m) and is under contract until June 2028 in Spain.

Tottenham Eyeing Marc Casado Deal

Among European clubs keen on the 21-year-old

According to SPORT, several Premier League and European clubs have explored a move for Casado in recent weeks, including Tottenham, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.

While he looks unlikely to depart Blaugrana for now, Casado’s situation could reportedly change after the first two La Liga matches in August, as some players may be left out of Hansi Flick’s squad.

Casado was a regular under Flick last season, making 36 appearances across all competitions and registering seven goal contributions, before an injury in March ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Casado has won two senior caps for Spain to date.

Tottenham are anticipating a busy end to the summer transfer window following Joao Palhinha's arrival on loan and captain Son Heung-min’s decision to leave.

The South Korea international is now close to joining MLS side Los Angeles FC, and it remains to be seen whether Spurs will sign a replacement.

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo is believed to be a player of interest, with reports in Spain claiming Spurs have already taken the first step towards signing the Brazilian.

Description

Tottenham have submitted a €100m (£87m) offer for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, Spanish publication Fichajes has claimed.

The Lilywhites have reportedly taken the first step towards signing the Brazil international as they aim to bring in a ‘quality’ replacement for their departing captain Son Heung-min.

The South Korean forward is now close to joining MLS side Los Angeles FC, and Rodrygo has been identified as his potential successor, although he is not ‘entirely convinced’ about joining the North London side.

Rodrygo reportedly believes a move to Spurs could be a step backwards in his career and may prefer to wait for an offer from a club with greater potential.

Tottenham Make Bid for Rodrygo

Brazilian ‘not convinced’ about Spurs move

Rodrygo has been heavily linked with both a departure from Real Madrid and a move to the Premier League in recent weeks.

The ‘world-class’ 24-year-old forward was not part of new head coach Xabi Alonso’s plans at the Club World Cup last month, where he made just three appearances, playing a total of 92 minutes.

Alonso’s tactical set-up has seen Rodrygo lose his starting place to Arda Guler in the tournament, hinting at a looming tough battle for regular minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu next season.

While he is believed to have the desire to remain at the club, Rodrygo is ‘aware’ his role at Real has changed and a move elsewhere is reportedly considered the best solution for his further development.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Rodrygo scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists for Real last season.

Tottenham have spent a total of around £120m on new signings this summer, with Kevin Danso, Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus among the notable arrivals.

The Lilywhites have also tried to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, but saw their efforts collapse, with the England international signing a new three-year contract at the City Ground.

Tottenham a 'Concrete' Option for £79m 'World-Class Superstar'

Description

Tottenham Hotspur could offer Rodrygo his “last chance” to leave Real Madrid this summer, according to Fichajes.

Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League in spite of their European triumph, losing 22 matches across the season which led to Postecoglou’s dismissal. In his place, the Lilywhites appointed Thomas Frank, who proved himself to be a tactically astute manager across seven years with Brentford.

To support Frank, Spurs have made multiple signings, with Mohammed Kudus being the most significant of the Dane’s brief tenure thus far. The club were pursuing a deal for Morgan Gibbs-White, but the English playmaker chose to renew his contract with Nottingham Forest.

Still seeking creative additions, reports have suggested that Spurs could push for this sensational talent.

Rodrygo to Spurs?

Discussions have intensified

Fichajes have reported that Spurs’ sporting directors have “intensified contact” with Rodrygo’s entourage and the club have become his "most concrete option." Since joining Real Madrid in 2019, the Brazilian, who is worth £79 million, has developed into one of the best wingers in the world, though his struggles for minutes at the Club World Cup under Xabi Alonso have sparked rumours about his future.

Rodrygo is a player that multiple clubs have held an interest in, but Fichajes have reported that he is not a priority for a number of these teams, which may make Spurs a more appealing proposition. Their participation in next season’s Champions League could prove crucial in convincing Rodrygo, who has been called "world-class," to join.

Tottenham hero Heung-min Son is set to join Los Angeles FC and as such, the club will need another option out wide. Should Spurs manage to negotiate a deal for the winger, it would be an incredible addition for a club looking to vastly improve their Premier League position.

Talks Held: Tottenham Must Hijack Move for 'Superstar' After Maddison Injury

Talks Held: Tottenham Must Hijack Move for 'Superstar' After Maddison Injury - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have to hijack Chelsea’s move for Xavi Simons in the aftermath of James Maddison, seemingly, suffering a bad injury.

Last season, Ange Postecoglou became the first manager in 17 years to guide Tottenham to a major honour, steering them to Europa League glory and fulfilling his promise of always winning silverware in his second season. Despite this, the club chose to sack the Australian, in no small part due to their league form.

Spurs lost 22 of 38 Premier League games last season, leading the Lilywhites to their eventual decision. In his place, Tottenham have appointed Thomas Frank who, across seven years with Brentford, took the Bees from the Championship and turned them into an established top flight side.

Alongside Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel, both of whom have had their loans made permanent, Spurs have signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham to bolster Frank’s options. The club were close to signing Morgan Gibbs-White, only for the number 10 to renew his contract with Nottingham Forest.

Missing out on Gibbs-White was certainly a blow for Tottenham, who have Champions League football to prepare for. Already in need of an attacking midfielder, Spurs should now look to move quickly and sign one particular star given how pre-season has unfolded for them.

Spurs Should Go For Simons

Maddison injury makes transfer crucial

As part of their pre-season preparations, Spurs recently played Newcastle United in a friendly. The game was tinged with poignance for Tottenham fans, as it marked the final appearance of Heung-min Son, who is set to join Los Angeles FC after a decade in North London.

The friendly also saw James Maddison, who struggled with a knee injury last season, go down off the ball towards the end of the match, with Frank saying after the game that Maddison had seemingly injured the same knee.

If Maddison is set to be out of action, then Spurs’ pursuit of a creative, attack-minded midfielder only becomes more crucial. It has since emerged, as per TBR Football, that Tottenham have held talks with Xavi Simons, who is looking to leave RB Leipzig this summer.

It has been reported that Chelsea also hold an interest in signing Simons, though Spurs now must do everything in their power to secure the Dutchman’s signature. There is a clearer place for Simons in Tottenham’s first team in comparison to Chelsea, who have far more players able to play in the number 10.

Playing in the Champions League will be a major incentive for Simons, one that Spurs could use to their advantage to recruit the Dutch international, who has been described as a “superstar” by Breaking the Lines.

Exclusive: Update Emerges on Tottenham Replacing Heung-min Son's Seven Shirt - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur face a decision over Heung-min Son's number seven shirt as he prepares to leave the club this summer, and GIVEMESPORT sources have confirmed that there's a possibility it is left vacant.

When Spurs faced Newcastle United in South Korea on Sunday afternoon, the game was largely focused on Son, with it being in his home country. There was also a focus on the forward with the game coming just a few days after he confirmed that he would be looking to leave the club during the summer transfer window.

Speaking before a press conference earlier this week, Son confirmed that he has made the 'difficult decision' to leave, and Spurs are supporting him by allowing him to head through the exit door...

"Before we start the press conference, I wanted to say I have decided to leave the Club this summer. Respectfully, the club is helping me with this decision. It was the most difficult decision I have made in my career. Such amazing memories. It was so hard to make the decision."

Tottenham Face Heung-min Son Replacement Decision

They could keep the number seven shirt vacant

According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Tottenham now face a decision over Son's number seven shirt as he prepares to leave the club this summer. The South Korean international announced his departure on Friday at a press conference, though sources say it came as no surprise to Spurs.

It's understood that it was agreed at the end of last season that he could leave if the right move came up, and Tottenham have fully respected his decision to seek a new challenge for the 2025/2026 campaign. Son is now expected to join Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC, while Spurs continue their search for new attacking options.

There's a possibility, according to GIVEMESPORT sources, that the number seven shirt is left vacant for the 2025/2026 season until the club finds the right replacement for their long-serving forward.

Tottenham are showing strong interest in a summer move for promising AIK forward Kevin Filling, Swedish publication Expressen has claimed.

The Lilywhites have reportedly made a ‘concrete enquiry’ regarding the 16-year-old starlet, having taken notice of Filling’s remarkable rise in recent months.

The Sweden U17 international was handed his first-team debut by AIK in June and scored in his very first senior appearance, a 3-0 league win over Goteborg.

Days later, he was rewarded with his first professional contract by the Swedish side, who have tied Filling to the club until the summer of 2028.

Tottenham Eyeing Move for Kevin Filling

Among Premier League clubs interested in the 16-year-old

According to Expressen, several major European clubs have been monitoring Filling closely in recent weeks, including both Tottenham and Manchester United, who have registered their interest with concrete enquiries.

While United are said to be willing to sign Filling and loan him to Swiss side Lausanne, Spurs are planning to send him back to AIK for development if they manage to secure the deal.

However, AIK are believed to have no plans to sell the 'enormous' 17-year-old talent at the moment, having just signed him to a long-term deal running until June 2028.

Filling suffered an injury following his first-team debut in June and has yet to make another appearance for the Swedish side.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Filling has scored once in three appearances for Sweden U17.

Tottenham are anticipating a busy final month of the summer transfer window, as captain Son Heung-min has announced his departure and is now close to signing with MLS side Los Angeles FC.

According to GIVEMESPORT sources, LAFC have sent a delegation to South Korea to try to finalise an agreement with Tottenham, who are currently in the country for pre-season.
