Tottenham Hotspur fans have some bad news coming their way.

Spurs sacked Ange Postecoglou and have appointed Thomas Frank as his successor. The Dane has been tasked with taking the club to the next level after their Europa League win last season.

Daniel Levy is expected to back Frank in the transfer window, and Tottenham have been linked with several names in recent weeks and months.

However, one of their key targets has no interest in a move to North London this summer.

What Bryan Mbeumo has personally informed Tottenham about joining them

Bryan Mbeumo is expected to leave Brentford this summer.

The Cameroon international, hailed as ‘unplayable‘ by Frank, was absolutely incredible under the Dane last season, and he is due a big move away from the Gtech Community Stadium.

Tottenham have shown interest in Mbeumo, and many felt that his old boss’ presence in North London could help them secure a move.

However, that is not going to happen, if David Ornstein is to be believed.

The journalist revealed on Friday that Mbeumo has informed both Tottenham and Brentford that he doesn’t want to move to North London.

The player’s preference, if he is to change clubs this summer, is a switch to Manchester United.

Ornstein tweeted: “Bryan Mbeumo has told Brentford and Tottenham he will only join Manchester United if he leaves Brentford this summer.”

The journalist also claimed that Spurs have denied making any offer for the Bees star in this window.

Tottenham could miss out on another key target if they don’t act fast

Many Tottenham fans hoped to see their club make some big moves early in the window after winning the Europa League last term.

However, Levy is yet to make concrete attempts to sign anyone, and with Mbeumo no longer an option, their list has become smaller.

Another attacker Tottenham are interested in is Eberechi Eze, but Spurs will have to act fast if they want to have any chance of signing him.

Arsenal also want to sign the Crystal Palace star, and reports have claimed that Bukayo Saka is privately encouraging Eze to join him at the Emirates.

The last thing Tottenham fans would want is to miss out on another target, especially to Arsenal.

The truth about £5bn Tottenham takeover as Daniel Levy files official paperwork, £775m issue key

The truth about £5bn Tottenham takeover as Daniel Levy files official paperwork, £775m issue key - TBR Football
Description

Daniel Levy has a habit of pricing himself and Tottenham out of the best deals, be that new signings or commercial partners. With fresh investment in the crosshairs, that trait is an issue for Spurs.

“He has got so close so many times,” one source who has worked as a sponsorship consultant for several Premier League clubs told TBR Football, talking about the search for a naming rights partner for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which has now gone unbranded for almost six years.

“He was trying for £25m. I’ve spoken to a lot of clubs that aren’t grounded in reality a lot of the time. Their justification for the price they’re asking is simply: ‘That’s what the chairman wants.’“

As it happens, Spurs themselves say they are in no hurry to secure a branding deal for the stadium, Daniel Levy’s magnum opus in his now nearly 25 years as chairman of the North London club. The brand benefits of having their name above the board when Beyonce or the NFL come to town are, the club’s commercial department say, enough to compensate for the missed revenue opportunity.

And yes, brand-building is important. The majority of bedrock Tottenham fans are probably sick of hearing it, but it’s commercial income which, under ENIC’s self-funding model, pays for transfers and player wages. And since their last season at White Hart Lane, commercial income has almost quadrupled, while wages have nearly doubled and transfer debt – astonishingly – has risen almost 500 per cent.

But could it be that this impulse to extract maximum value even at the expense of leaving immediate revenues on the table has cost Tottenham in their attempts to smoke out new investors?

In their financial statements for 2022-23, which were published last April, Levy revealed that he had enlisted the financial services firm Rothschild & Co to broker a “significant increase in our equity base.”

But despite persistent early links to Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s Qatar Sports Investments, Amanda Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners and several American private equity firms, the trail has since gone cold – and there was no mention of fundraising in Spurs’ most recent set of accounts.

Tottenham’s semi-miraculous qualification for the revamped, ultra-lucrative 36-team Champions League in 2024–25 may have eased any immediate pressure for fresh investment. But even with UEFA prize money now guaranteed, ENIC may still have to do the one thing they hate the most: spend their own cash. And that’s not a situation they want to be in.

The question in the meantime remains – is Levy’s intransigence on price costing Spurs?

Whose equity is Daniel Levy selling?

Tottenham’s ownership structure isn’t as simple as it looks on paper. So whose chunk of the club is the chairman actually trying to sell?

Well, maybe no-one’s. The board could issue fresh shares to a new investor at a set price, with the money paid then going to the club’s bank account, not Levy or ENIC’s

That would dilute Levy’s own stake of around 26 per cent, as well as the 61 per cent shareholding now presided over by the family trust of Joe Lewis, who stepped back from the club following his charges and subsequent conviction for insider trading in 2023.

The Lewis family trust is overseen by Katie Booth and Peter Charrington, two vastly experienced legal professionals based in the Bahamas. Charrington joined the Tottenham board as a non-executive director in March this year. The pair are listed as persons of significant control at Tottenham on Companies House.

Officially, any decision on the issuance of new shares would be signed off by the board of directors, who in turn can be appointed and removed by Booth and Charrington, essentially making them the gatekeepers of new shares, acting on behalf of the Lewis family trust.

The view among football finance experts and industry sources consulted by TBR Football, however, is that it is far more likely that ENIC or Levy are looking to realise some of the value of their initial investment between 2001 and 2007, which totalled around £90m. As we’ll explore later, it will be quite some markup.

That would mean selling their existing shares to a third party at a set price.

ENIC’s investment in Spurs is multi-layered but ultimately owned by Tavistock, the investment firm founded by Lewis in the 1980s whose investments include a range of luxury real estate, agriculture, energy and financial services businesses, as well as Tottenham.

Tavistock has two co-CEOs:

Nick Beucher – the husband of one of Joe Lewis’ granddaughters, Joanna Lewis; oversees Tavistock’s real estate arm

Josh Levy – the son of Daniel Levy; former investment banker

Two of Lewis’ children, Vivienne and Charles, are also managing directors for Tavistock. If Daniel Levy does find a new minority partner, Tavistock’s management team – which includes several other members of Lewis’ extended family – would presumably influence the final decision, whether formally or informally.

However, the corporate governance structure of Tavistock isn’t clear due to the company being based in the Bahamas, where financial reporting requirements are minimal. Who exactly would have the ultimate sign-off, therefore, isn’t clear.

Incidentally, Bloomberg has previously reported that talks between Lewis family representatives and would-be buyers have repeatedly collapsed because of the ambiguity surrounding the club’s ownership structure and who would be in charge post-deal.

A full takeover has never been ruled out, though.

If an unlikely full takeover does materialise, then the issue of the 30,000 or so minority shareholders in the club could theoretically become an issue.

“We have 30,000 shareholders who own approximately 13.5 per cent,” Levy revealed in 2023. “We run this club as if it is a public company.”

Very little information about the minority investors is publicly available, but they are a legacy of the days when Spurs were listed on the London Stock Exchange.

It is understood that they have no influence in the club’s day-to-day operations, but it’s conceivable that if a new outright owner steps forward, they may want to buy out the external investors to streamline operations.

These shares are traded every two months on the Asset Match platform. The last auction saw shares trade for around £3.22 each, which would value the club at £756m.

With the true marked value of the club estimated in the multiple billions, those shareholders – some of whom may have bought their stakes as far back as 1983 – could be in for a huge payday if a new owner did want to buy them out.

£775m Tottenham Hotspur Stadium debt structure is an issue

One new development this week: The Athletic’s Matt Slater has reported that £775m worth of stadium debt refinanced by Spurs in 2021 could be making Levy and ENIC less hasty to find a buyer.

“A potential fly in the Spurs sale ointment is that, if you take a look at the current loans, they are all as 2.5 to 3 per cent and they are locked in for 12-15 years,” explains University of Liverpool football finance lecturer and Price of Football podcast host Kieran Maguire in exclusive conversation with TBR Football.

“They have change-of-control clauses, so if a new owner comes in, the lenders can walk away. They are losing money because the deals were signed off in 2015-16 when rates were low. The banks want to walk away, but they can’t.

“At the same time, even if you end up paying an extra 2-3 per cent per year, it’s an extra £20m. It’s not going to put off a genuine bidder. If it comes to the Middle East, they will simply fund it through equity.”

So it isn’t that there’s anything wrong with the debt. The opposite, in fact. It might be too good a deal to walk away from, or at least a factor that would make the owners think twice before selling up.

Another factor highlighted by Slater for The Athletic is Spurs’ geography.

Reportedly, Tottenham’s distance – both cultural and physical – from London’s West End is a potential hiccup, with high-end investors keen for an ultra-salubrious location to park their wealth and entertain guests.

But Spurs are continuing to redevelop the immediate area in the immediate vicinity of their stadium and just this week filed an official planning application for four new residential towers that will loom over the 62,850-seater venue. A set of townhouses have also been included in the proposal.

The scheme is part of a grand plan for the site in N17 which also includes the under-construction hotel, a cinema and an extreme sports centre.

Tottenham are not worth £5bn

According to most sources, Levy and ENIC value Spurs at around £3.75bn.

That is a little rich compared with independent valuations from the likes of Forbes, Bloomberg and Football Benchmark and Sportico, but it’s not too wild an appraisal relative to, say, Chelsea at £2.5bn.

At least one report in recent weeks, however, has suggested that Spurs fancy themselves as a £5bn asset and are making progress on a deal that will bear out that figure.

No chance, says Maguire.

“Congratulations to Spurs for getting into the Champions League next season, but their chances of replicating that going forward are uncertain.

“Yes, they have a new manager, but things won’t necessarily change overnight. Last season, Spurs had a lower wage bill than Aston Villa. It was only just ahead of Newcastle. I think what we now have is a ‘Big Five’ and then ‘Pretty Big Three’ in the form of Spurs, Newcastle and Villa.

“That’s the case from a player investment point of view. So unless Spurs invest and invest well, they are going to find it difficult to get into the Champions League even when there is an 80 per cent chance each season that the Premier League will have five clubs in it.

“Trying to work out a value on that basis is difficult. It’s not making profits anymore, although a lot of the costs are non-cash based in the sense of amortisation and depreciation.

“From a minority shareholder’s point of view, what exactly are you getting? Daniel Levy isn’t going to give up the chairmanship role – so you’re basically just buying a seat in the director’s box. So, I don’t see the benefit at £5bn, especially when we’re talking about Liverpool being worth £4bn.””

Description

After a slow start to the transfer window, Arsenal are starting to catch up with rivals Liverpool and Man City.

The Gunners are close to signing Kepa Arrizabalaga as backup for David Raya while Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi is on the verge of signing for Arsenal as well.

Mikel Arteta wants to sign a striker, which remains a priority for the club. Another position they are keen on bolstering is the left side of the attack.

Arsenal missed out on Nico Williams, but there are other options available for the Gunners to target, including Real Madrid star Rodrygo.

And now, TBR Football can reveal that Arsenal have initiated contact for one of Tottenham’s top targets.

Arsenal enquire Tottenham target Eberechi Eze

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has revealed that the Gunners have made an enquiry for Crystal Palace and England star Eberechi Eze.

The player is expected to leave Palace this summer, with several other clubs also showing interest, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle, Man United and Aston Villa.

However, as per Bailey, Tottenham remains the club currently leading the race to sign him.

While Eze has kept his options open, the transfer expert reveals that he would welcome a move to Spurs. Speaking to TBR Football, Bailey said: “Eberechi Eze is expecting to leave Crystal Palace this summer, that is no secret.

“He has a release clause and Steve Parish is open to taking instalments to a certain degree but any agreement will need to be reached with Palace.

“Eze himself has made it clear he is open to options, and a host of Premier League clubs have had made contact.

“As we have reported, the most advanced are Tottenha,m and we are told the player would welcome a move.

“But Arsenal have indeed made enquiries as they see him as a potential option on their left – but same with Liverpool, Chelsea, Man United, Newcastle and Aston Villa – they have all made enquiries to some extent this year.”

Tottenham’s longstanding interest in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze

Tottenham have long been after Eze, initially expressing interest in him when he was at QPR.

In 2024, Spurs even gave Eze’s entourage an exclusive box at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during the match between Tottenham and Crystal Palace.

TBR Football has previously reported that Tottenham are confident about signing Eze after being informed about his £60m release clause and the easy financial plan available to sign him.

It has also been reported by TBR Football that Eze is ‘very keen’ to join Tottenham.

Despite Arsenal’s enquiry, there is no reason why Spurs should not be able to secure his signing over the competition if they make a concrete pursuit.

Tottenham have lost faith in £25m player, two 'very good' young players could now replace him - TBR Football
Description

TBR Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur have lost faith in one of their first-team defenders and are open to selling him this summer

Thomas Frank will be looking to reshape his new Spurs squad this summer and will have plenty of tough calls to make in terms of departures.

Tottenham Hotspur finished 17th in the Premier League last season, and therefore, there will be several players who could be moved on.

There is one player in particular who finds himself low down the pecking order in North London, and now the Lilywhites would not be opposed to his sale.

Tottenham open to selling Radu Dragusin this summer

Tottenham are likely to be open to Radu Dragusin leaving North London this summer, claims TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey.

The defender has fallen in the pecking order at the North London club with Kevin Danso jumping above him following his arrival back in January.

Dragusin, who Tottenham signed for £25m, has struggled to make an impression in N17, and now the Lilywhites would not stand in his way if he decided to leave.

Bailey told TBR Football: “I think an interesting one at Tottenham to keep an eye on is Dragusin, because Danso is now well ahead of him in the pecking order.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if we see something with Dragusin this summer and a possible exit. I don’t think Spurs have been blown away by what he’s done since arriving at the club.

“There has also been a bit of agitating from the player, I think even in January he was agitating a little bit, and I guess this is what happens when you’re signing squad players

“When you get someone like Dragusin arrive and he’s confident that he can get a first-team spot, but he ends up sitting on the bench, then you have an issue. I’m not sure Spurs would stand in his way.”

Ashley Phillips, Luka Vuskovic and Kato Takai set to arrive at Tottenham

Tottenham will be well stocked in central defence during pre-season with Ashley Phillips, Luka Vuskovic and Kato Takai all set to arrive at Hotspur Way.

Takai is close to joining Tottenham from Japanese first division club, Kawasaki Frontale, where he has already made 78 appearances for the first team.

Tottenham are excited about Vuskovic’s potential, and the 18-year-old is likely to be assessed by Frank during pre-season.

Bailey added: “I think he might become someone who is moved on, and as you said, they do have options coming in. Phillips and Vuskovic are very good young players, and Kato is also set to sign.

“I still think the Spurs would like another left-footed defender. The way Spurs’ injury list is, even if you’re third, fourth or fifth choice, you’re going to see some game time.”

Description

Arsenal look set to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of Brentford captain Christian Norgaard.

Tottenham were ready to move for Norgaard, as TBR Football reported, however, their bitter rivals came along and blew them out of the water.

The Danish international’s move to the Emirates is progressing pretty rapidly, with the player set to soon undergo a medical ahead of the move.

Arsenal’s fans have been hailing their sporting director, Andrea Berta, for securing such a good deal, especially after what Tottenham Hotspur were told during early discussions.

Brentford initially wanted £45m for Christian Norgaard

Arsenal are close to signing Christian Norgaard for around £9 million, and the Gunners’ supporters believe Berta has just pulled off a ‘masterclass’.

Brentford initially wanted £45m to sell Norgaard, with Spurs and Arsenal going head to head for his signature, according to The Evening Standard via Football.London.

The Danish midfielder is such a key player for Brentford as their club captain and a player who recently signed a new deal with the West London club.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side have now managed to sign him for just a fraction of that initial asking price set by the Bees.

Thomas Frank will be gutted to miss out on the 31-year-old and Arsenal fans have taken to X to share their delight towards the move.

One fan said: “Berta is doing his job and getting deals for small amounts and laughing at Spurs whilst doing it.”

There was yet more laughter at Spurs’ expense: “Imagine hyping Tottenham to cough up a whopping £45m for a player, then sneakily let the same player hop on a bus to Arsenal for a medical for just £9m… When you’re big, you’re big!”

Another Arsenal fan simply wrote: “We got him for £9m. Andrea Berta masterclass.”

“Berta masterclass. I have a lot of time for Brentford,” claimed another fan who made sure to thank the West Londoners.

Christian Norgaard’s view on joining Thomas Frank at Tottenham

TBR Football also understands that Norgaard only wanted to join Arsenal, despite interest from his former boss.

Spurs’ new head coach was very close to Norgaard at Brentford, so turning down a reunion with him at Tottenham proves how much he wanted the move to N5 instead.

Following Frank’s departure from the Gtech Community Stadium, the midfielder quickly got his agents to start finding him a way out of the club.

When he discovered that the Gunners were after him, Norgaard only had one thought on his mind: to ensure he was playing at the Emirates next season.

Jamie O’Hara thinks Tottenham should sign Liverpool star who plays like Dejan Kulusevski

Submitted by daniel on

Description

There hasn’t been a first-team transfer between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool since Robbie Keane moved back to White Hart Lane in 2009.

The two clubs are part of the traditional big six in the English top-flight, and they have had many battles on the pitch over the years.

Liverpool have been the more successful side, and Jamie O’Hara will absolutely love it if Tottenham can reach the Reds’ level.

The Spurs supporting pundit is a fan of several Liverpool players, and he has now named one whom he would like to sign for his side.

Jamie O’Hara suggests Liverpool star Harvey Elliott for Tottenham

Harvey Elliott’s future at Liverpool is up in the air.

The Englishman has been at Anfield since joining them from Fulham in the summer of 2017. He has played close to 147 games for the club and has shown flashes of his brilliance.

However, Elliott has never been a regular starter for the Reds. He played just 360 minutes of football in the Premier League under Arne Slot last season, which is not good enough.

After watching the 22-year-old perform brilliantly for the England U21s, O’Hara claimed that he would happily take Elliott at Tottenham and even compared him to Dejan Kulusevski.

He said on talkSPORT: “I would have him at Tottenham, 100 per cent.

“He would play on the right and compete with Brennan Johnson. Kulusevski is quite a similar player to him, but I think Harvey Elliott has something about him. He can play as a number 10, he can play in different areas, he can play in midfield.

“I like Harvey Elliott. There’s a lot to like.”

Harvey Elliott to Tottenham makes sense

Tottenham could do with reinforcements in multiple areas of their pitch, and they have been linked with some big signings in recent weeks.

Spurs want Mbeumo, but he prefers Manchester United, as things stand.

Elliott can play on the right wing like Mbeumo, and he is capable of producing the goods as a number 10 as well as in a central midfield role.

The Englishman is still only 22, has plenty of experience in the Premier League, and with regular game time, he could become a star.

We’re with O’Hara here — if a deal for Elliott is feasible, Tottenham should consider signing him.

Tottenham 'definitely' interested in £60m star who wants to play in the Premier League next season - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are working hard to bring new players in for their newly appointed manager, Thomas Frank.

With Champions League football back on the menu in N17, the North London club require a big summer transfer window following what was a rather disappointing campaign.

Thomas Frank will be tasked with helping Spurs to climb the Premier League table, with the team having finished a record low of 17th last season.

The Lilywhites will need to bring him some big new signings, and one of their latest transfer targets has handed them a boost with his stance over a move to the Premier League.

Tottenham target Xavi Simons wants big financial package

Tottenham Hotspur ‘definitely’ have a chance to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons this summer, however, his demands could be an issue, according to Matt Law.

Spurs are one of several clubs eyeing a move for the Dutch international, and he is believed to be keen on a move to the Premier League.

The North London club would have no issues paying Simons’s reported £60m price tag, but the player is believed to be asking for a big financial package to join.

Law told Last Word On Spurs: “So Xavi Simons does want to come to England this summer and leave Leipzig, he’s got quite a few people looking at him, and I’m told Tottenham are definitely one of those where there is an interest.

“I don’t think it’s an easy deal to do, from what I’m told, I think he wants quite a big package himself, I don’t think the transfer fee would necessarily be something that would be a problem for Tottenham or other clubs.

“But I do think Tottenham are in the mix for him and are certainly interested, but I think there are a few, so I don’t think they’ll have a clear run at him. I definitely think they have a shout.”

The midfielder is ready to leave Leipzig this summer after they missed out on European football and Spurs could be the ones to take him.

Xavi Simons’ 2024/25 stats compared to Eberechi Eze’s

Another target for Tottenham is Eberechi Eze, who TBR Football understands is ‘very keen’ to make the switch to North London this summer.

Spurs have several attacking targets and must now decide which player to move this summer to bolster Frank’s options.

Simons and Eze both enjoyed solid seasons last term as they both showed why Tottenham are looking at the pair of them.

The Dutch midfielder has the edge over Eze in terms of goals, but the Crystal Palace man managed one more assist in the league than Simons.

Both players can play either in the number ten role or as a left winger, which could offer the Lilywhites some much-needed options in attack.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are set for a big summer of changes and one of their key players could be about to depart in the transfer window.

Thomas Frank has just been appointed as the new head coach of the North London club, and his arrival could bring about plenty of changes to the playing squad.

Spurs are working hard in the transfer window to reshape the Dane’s squad following what was a dismal Premier League campaign as the team finished 17th.

Now, one of Spurs’ top players may have already suggested to his teammates and staff that he could well have played his final game for the club.

Tottenham’s players and staff think Son Heung-min could be leaving

The way Son Heung-min said his goodbyes to Tottenham Hotspur’s players and staff after the last Premier League match of the season left them with the impression that he might have played his final game for the club, according to Matt Law.

Spurs are open to selling Son this summer if the South Korean forward feels the time is right for him to move on following the Europa League triumph.

Speaking to the Last Word on Spurs, Law said: “I mean, certainly after the last game of the season, he left people with the impression, both in the dressing room and around the staff, that he might have played his last game for Tottenham.

“The way he said his goodbyes for the summer did leave people with the impression that he thought he could go.

“I think there is a willingness to do a deal if he feels the timing is right now that he’s won that trophy and the time might be right for both parties.”

TBR Football understands that Thomas Frank won’t stand in Son’s way either, and the Dane has informed the club he is happy to sell the club captain.

Frank and Son are due to discuss his future in a meeting once the 32-year-old returns for pre-season, with the attacker expected to stay until Spurs’ tour of Asia.

Tottenham are well equipped for life without Son Heung-min

The North London club appear well prepared for life without Son, who Ange Postecoglou called ‘outstanding’, given their strong array of left-wing options.

Tottenham signed Mathys Tel earlier this month with the hope that the Frenchman could eventually become a star in N17.

Mikey Moore is another big hope for the future at Tottenham, with the 17-year-old having shown himself to be a major prospect. Tottenham want Moore to sign a new contract, as per TBR Football.

Frank wants Eze at Spurs, and the England international could be the perfect replacement for Son as he looks more than ready to make the step up.

What Christian Norgaard’s camp privately told Arsenal when Tottenham also wanted to sign him

Description

TBR Football can exclusively reveal Christian Norgaard’s thoughts when he learned that both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were interested in signing him.

The Brentford captain has been one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League in recent seasons, and he has a lot of admirers.

Thomas Frank wanted to sign Norgaard for Tottenham, but the Dane became a target for Arsenal too after it became clear that Thomas Partey was leaving the Emirates.

A reunion with his old boss would’ve been appealing, but everything changed for Norgaard once Arsenal came into the picture.

Christian Norgaard only wanted Arsenal despite interest from Tottenham

TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, understands that once Arsenal made their approach for Christian Norgaard, he made it clear he only wanted to move to the Emirates.

We understand that the Danish midfielder was left unsettled by Frank’s departure from Brentford. That is when his agents reached out to assess his options.

Soon, it became known that both Arsenal and Tottenham were interested in his services, but we have been told that Norgaard only had one thought in his mind, and that was a move to the red side of North London.

Arsenal were looking at numerous midfield options, including Sevilla’s Lucien Agoume and Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi, upon learning that Partey was heading out. But, it is believed that the chance to land an experienced and highly-regarded Premier League performer was too good to turn down.

Once Arsenal’s interest emerged, the Gunners were told by Norgaard’s camp that they were his priority destination, despite interest from their fierce rivals, Tottenham.

Bailey told TBR: “Andrea Berta moved quickly, he spoke with Mikel Arteta and a decision was made quickly to sign Norgaard.

“They were told early on that Arsenal was his priority, and that was a major appeal too.”

The £15 million deal for Norgaard is due to be completed before the weekend, with a medical already pencilled in for Thursday.

One of Christian Norgaard’s first games will be against Tottenham

Frank absolutely adored Norgaard and loved having him at Brentford.

The now-Tottenham boss would’ve liked him at his disposal at his new club too, but Arsenal’s interest blew Spurs out of the water.

The Norgaard deal should be sealed in the coming days, and one of the Dane’s first games in the famous red and white is set to come against Tottenham in pre-season.

Arsenal take on Spurs in Hong Kong in what will be the first North London Derby played outside the country in history.

If Norgaard scores against his old boss and helps Arsenal beat Tottenham, he will become an instant hero.

Description

One of the players Daniel Levy was trying to sign for his new manager, Thomas Frank, will now be moving elsewhere.

Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer plans are starting to take shape with the Danish head coach now in place at Hotspur Way.

Spurs need a big summer transfer window with Champions League football back on the menu next season and the desire to climb the Premier League table following last term’s 17th place finish.

But one of the North London club’s top transfer targets is now set for a move to another club, and Daniel Levy will be gutted.

Man United are close to ruining Daniel Levy’s plan to sign Bryan Mbeumo

Manchester United are close to agreeing a deal worth in excess of £60 million with Brentford to sign Bryan Mbeumo, according to Ben Jacobs.

The Cameroon international has been prioritising a move to Old Trafford with Spurs having shown a strong interest in the Brentford forward.

The Red Devils are now working hard to close the deal to sign the player and make sure that he is ready for pre-season starting on July 7.

Levy tried ‘really hard to sign Mbeumo and deliver a new statement signing for Thomas Frank, who had requested the addition of the attacker.

Reports suggested that the Spurs chairman was willing to put the necessary money on the table to get the deal done, however, that doesn’t look to have been enough.

The Lilywhites will now have to start searching for alternative targets and there is already a three-man shortlist in place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Eberechi Eze is very keen to join Tottenham

One of the top players Spurs could turn to next is Eberechi Eze, who has been a long-term target for the North Londoners.

TBR Football has revealed that Eze is ‘very keen’ to join Tottenham, and he is now pushing to leave Crystal Palace this summer.

The 26-year-old has a £60 million release clause at Selhurst Park which could rise to £68 million depending on his performances.

Palace are open to Eze’s release clause being paid in instalments, with £25 million to £30 million paid up front and the rest in two more payments.

Tottenham consider bid for Mohammed Kudus

Tottenham are considering a bid for Mohammed Kudus, as revealed by TBR Football, but they could face competition from Arsenal.

The two North London clubs have held talks with West Ham United over a deal for the 24-year-old and they are now weighing what to do next.

The Ghanaian international had a tricky season last term as he netted just five times, which is 13 fewer than what he managed the previous campaign.

Kudus has an £80 million release clause at the London Stadium, although the Hammers are open to offers worth around £60 million.

The third target is Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth, who, like Eze, just had the most productive season of his career to date.

The 25-year-old scored 11 goals and notched six assists in the Premier League, which makes him a key player for the Cherries.

That is reflected in his valuation, with Bournemouth demanding £70 million for Semenyo, something which Spurs are unprepared to pay.

The Lilywhites remain in contact with the forward over a move, however, at this stage, a deal for the player looks highly unlikely.
