Mikey Moore’s future at Rangers might be uncertain - but the on loan Tottenham Hotspur’s growing potential is undeniable as he reflects on a “special experience” at such an early stage in his career.

The 18-year-old winger has made a significant impact at Ibrox under the guidance of head coach Danny Rohl in recent months, with his performances earning plenty of acclaim from supporters after developing into a firm fan favourite.

With six goals and three assists to his name, the Englishman’s all-round game has been most impressive, offering a direct and creative attacking outlet from wide areas, as well as in the No.10 position.

“I think I've improved as the season's gone on and I've got more confident,” Moore admitted in an interview with Sky Sports after being nominated for PFA Scotland’s Young Player of the Year award. “Personally, I've started to show a bit more, and as a team, I think they've helped me, so it's been nice to play.

“Coming up here, I think it's a shock to see what it means to everyone and to see how much pressure there is playing up here. For me, it's been a special experience and I think all the players now for the last four games need to stick together and be one. Hopefully we can go and make it something that will be special to all of us.”

Moore: Joining Rangers can make-or-break a player

After confessing his move north of the border to Glasgow has been a real eye-opener, Moore reckons it’s the type of move that could easily make-or-break a player.

“I think probably half of it is mentality,” Moore commented. “You can have all the ability in the world but if you can't deal with what comes with playing at Ibrox and playing for a club like this, then it's not for you really.

“The mentality side of it is massive and to bounce back from (the result) we've just had yesterday, we need to bounce back from that. This place is massive pressure and it's just somewhere special.”

Rangers can repair damage of Motherwell loss

Rangers suffered a potentially title-defining 3-2 home defeat against Motherwell on Sunday to leave their hopes of silverware hanging by a thread, but the club ended a disappointing day by celebrating the brighter aspects of a rollercoaster season by staging their annual Player of the Year ceremony, where Moore was one of the award winners.

Asked if he views Sunday’s setback as a fatal blow or something that can be repaired, the Londoner admitted: “You've seen how many twists and turns there's been already, there's still room for more. For us, we're just focused on ourselves and trying to win our next four games and put ourselves in the best possible position we can be in.

“I think as every single one of us, me and all the boys, we need to really make the most of that opportunity (against Hearts). It's now, it's do or die for all of us. We need to really stick together and put on a performance, not only for ourselves but for the fans and for the club. For everyone involved, it could really be special.”

Moore has been nominated for the Young Player of the Year award alongside Barney Stewart from Falkirk, Arbroath’s Findlay Marshall, who is on loan from Aberdeen, and Dundee’s Luke Graham.

Celtic have been linked with a bold move for a former Tottenham manager - but Birmingham City have a route into the race.

Gaffers like Ferencvaros leader Robbie Keane and Motherwell’s Jens Berthel Askou have been linked to the upcoming Parkhead vacancy. Current boss Martin O’Neill has the Hoops in a Scottish Cup final and Premiership title race but will not take post in the long-term, resulting in a frenzy of speculation, with Thomas Frank now linked.

His stellar job in establishing Brentford as a Premier League club earned him a shot at Tottenham last summer but he was sacked earlier this term amid a disastrous season unfolding at Spurs. He will have options this summer, including Celtic, according to FootballFanCast. Birmingham City though are another believed to be on the case, if they decide to sack former Hoops coach Chris Davies as their gaffer, after an underwhelming return to the Championship this term.

Who could become the next Celtic manager?

Reporting on the ex-Tottenham boss being a Parkhead option states: “Celtic are still undecided on their next permanent manager despite strong links to Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou, and are now considering a fellow Dane in the shape of former Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, Football FanCast sources understand.

“He was spotted in London for Brentford's Premier League match against Fulham on Saturday. The Hoops would need to secure European football to tempt Frank north of the border however, with a number of English top flight sides expected to be on the hunt for a new manager this summer.”

That came amid reporting on Frank’s possible role in the Birmingham City shake-up. It’s claimed in Football League World: “Birmingham City could well elect change in the dugout upon the conclusion of the current Championship campaign, with Chris Davies' future in charge having long been the subject of intense speculation.

Could Birmingham City make a managerial change this summer?

“As we edge ever closer to the commencement of the off-season, Football League World can now exclusively reveal a hugely-ambitious leading contender to succeed Davies if Birmingham decide to relieve the head coach of his duties in the coming weeks.

“Football League World has learned that Birmingham could look to make yet another statement of intent as Knighthead weigh up potential candidates in the event of sacking Davies, which is a decision that still appears to hang very much in the balance. If Blues do part ways with the 41-year-old, though, FLW can exclusively disclose that they will set their sights upon a shock swoop for Thomas Frank as he searches for a return to management after departing Tottenham Hotspur in February.

“Sources have revealed to FLW that Birmingham are considering the possibility of lining up a move for Frank, and it's one which would undoubtedly make waves across the Championship and beyond while strengthening Blues' promotion ambitions ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. He was, after all, one of the most highly-rated head coaches in the Premier League less than twelve months prior, and while FLW understands Birmingham's intentions to line up a bold move, there is no current indication of how the former Brentford boss feels about it at the time of writing.”

Rangers starlet Mikey Moore says he is determined to make every moment count in the remaining weeks of the season as he bids to leave a lasting legacy at Ibrox.

Moore, 18, signed a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer and has developed into a huge fan favourite after playing a major role in the club's resurgence that has seen them close the gap on league leaders Hearts' points under head coach Danny Rohl.

Temporarily going top of the table for the first time this season after the 4-2 win over Dundee United on Saturday, the Gers dropped back into second after Hearts mustered a 2-2 draw against Livingston a day later. However, with just one point separating the two sides heading into the final five weeks of the campaign, Moore says his full focus is on making sure he’s remembered as a title winner when he returns to Spurs in the summer.

“I want them to remember me not just as a young boy who came up,” said Moore. “If we win something here, they will remember me as someone who helped keep pushing them to win the league. I have had a bit of everything already in four or five months and now we have a chance to go and win a title.

"At my age, that is what you want. Hopefully, when the season is over, we will be in the position to push for the title. There are going to be some huge games to play in and I am looking forward to it. That is my goal, to win trophies at the highest level possible and hopefully go on to play for my country."

Head coach Rohl has made no secret of the fact that he’d like to keep the teenager at the club for an extended period of time. Already adored by the Ibrox faithful, they are desperate for him to prolong his stay, with the hope he’ll join for a second loan spell next season.

Moore confirmed he still sees his future with Spurs, saying he wants to return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and fight for a place in the club’s starting XI eventually, detailing how a shock health scare last season had knocked him off course just as he was beginning to showcase his undoubted ability in North London.

“I want to go back to Tottenham and hopefully get myself a place in the team,” admitted Moore. “Right now, I feel at my best and feel like how I felt when I first started playing at Tottenham. I was playing really well and started to find my feet in the first team just before the Galatasaray game.

“I trained two days before it and I was set to start or make an appearance in that game. I went for a driving lesson that night and all of a sudden I felt a bit of pain in my chest. The doctor called me in and said to forget about football for now.

“It came back that I had myocarditis, which is a virus that went to the heart and gave me pains. I was lucky that I caught it early because I am not sure what could have happened after that. From what I know, it is not something that can really reoccur. I was in bed for six weeks and was not allowed to do any exercise. There were a lot of rumours at that time and it was tough to deal with. Those six weeks felt like six months.”

Mikey Moore has been told another season at Rangers would be a major boost for his development - but a Tottenham issue could lurk.

The winger has emerged as a key player for boss Danny Rohl amid the Premiership title race as his team sit three points off leaders Hearts. Moore has hit form and netted six times alongside three assists in his loan spell from Tottenham, but what comes after the summer remains uncertain, with Spurs flirting with a shock relegation from the English Premier League.

Rangers could possibly do another deal for Moore should the opportunity present itself and club hero Barry Ferguson reckons it’d be shrewd for all involved. Debating the winger’s future with former Celtic and Scotland defender Charlie Mulgrew on Go Radio, he reckons the guarantee of regular matches at Rangers should be enough to see a deal sealed.

Will Mikey Moore return to Rangers next season?

Ferguson said: “You can see he's playing with so much freedom and I think Danny Rohl has given him that freedom. You can see that he's definitely shown his qualities. I'm sure Rangers are going to try their utmost to try and get them back to Ibrox next season because what you don't want to see is the young man going back to Tottenham and wasting away and sitting on the bench and getting five and 10 minutes here.

“I would rather see him at Ibrox where he's going to be guaranteed to play most games and it's going to be a lot better for his development as a player. But again, he was head and shoulders above everybody on the pitch at the weekend. I think they will try everything in their power to do it and make it happen.

“But again, the problem you've got with loan players is he's not your player. A lot of it is going to be up to Tottenham. If I'm Tottenham, I'd be watching them and looking at them thinking, do you know what, another season. He's only 18. If Rangers get him next year, by the time he goes back to Tottenham, he'll be 19. He's still really young.”

What issue could Rangers have in trying to sign Mikey Moore again?

Mulgrew senses an issue though coming from Spurs this summer, as he wonders whether or not they would see the English Championship as the next step in Moore’s development, opposed to another Premiership season at Ibrox. He said: "The problem he's got is if Tottenham think that the Championship is a better route for him.

“If they think, put him to the Championship, it might be better for him. I'm not saying it is, but I'm saying if Tottenham think along those lines of way, maybe English people generally do, then that's the issue Rangers would have to get him back.”

Mikey Moore has told his adoring Rangers fanbase that he would LOVE to return to Ibrox next season after describing his loan spell this term “unbelievable”.

The in-demand 18-year-old winger has been in scintillating form for Danny Rohl’s side in recent months, with supporters regularly chanting his name at matches across the country.

Head coach Rohl has made no secret of his desire to keep the attacker beyond the end of the season and revealed that “conversations” are ongoing with Moore’s parent club Tottenham Hotspur regarding the possibility for the England youth star to extend his stay with the Light Blues into next term.

And Moore - who has made 21 senior appearances for the English Premier League giants - has hinted that he would be open to remaining at Rangers for another year, having signed a new long-term contract with the North London club last summer prior to arriving in Glasgow on a full-season loan agreement.

Much will depend on how Spurs finish the current campaign. Tottenham are in the midst of a relegation battle and are likely to be searching for a new boss in the near future, with Igor Tudor only in interim charge.

Speaking after getting on the scoresheet in Saturday’s impressive 4-1 Premiership win at home to Aberdeen, Moore confessed: “I've loved every single second I've been here and I think the club is special and it's special to me now. For me, I'm just going to enjoy the next seven games and obviously I need to speak to people back home.

“I never know what can happen. For me, to be honest, I have no clue. We'll have conversations in the summer and we'll see what happens. I don't know if there's been much club-to-club contact yet, but I know that people have spoke to me and the people around me, so conversations are happening and we'll see what happens come the end of the season. I just want to enjoy the last seven games and obviously I've absolutely loved it up here, so we'll see what happens.

“Obviously, I don't know what's happening with the manager and what's happening at the club at the minute. We'll see how the season ends, who comes in and I'm going to speak to people and just try and find the best solution for me.

“I think this has been unbelievable for me and if it's right for me next year, then I'd love to stay here, but we have to see what's going to happen.”

Mikey Moore reveals timeline for crunch Tottenham talks

Moore has been one of Rangers’ most creative players and while he insists his time at Rangers has been great for his development, the matter of his future remains out of his hands.

He is planning to have discussions with Tottenham’s loan manager to seek some more clarity on where he stands at the London club.

The teenager revealed: “Andy Scolding used to work up here, so he was a big influence in me coming here in the first place and he explained to me what he feels it can help me with and I think he was completely right with everything he said.

“I'll speak to him, I think he was up here today watching the game. I'll probably ring him after today, so we'll see what he says.”

He added: “I feel the love from the fans in the stadium and I think they've took to me really well,” he added. “For a loan player, I think they've been unbelievable with me, especially with the way we started and the way I started personally. For them to still back me and sing my name, it's been something special, so I'm grateful to them.”

Rangers boss Danny Rohl insists he will do everything in his power to keep on loan Tottenham Hotspur forward Mikey Moore at Ibrox beyond the end of the season.

The 18-year-old winger shone once again as he scored and delivered a man-of-the-match display in the Light Blues’ 4-1 victory over Aberdeen on Saturday night - a result that keeps them on Hearts’ coat-tails in the Premiership title race.

Englishman Moore notched Rangers second goal of the evening with a composed finish before the home crowd proceeded to sing his name and give him a standing ovation when he was eventually replaced in the closing stages.

Since making the move to Glasgow last summer, Moore has developed into a fans’ favourite but is due to return to North London once the season has reached it conclusion, meaning Rangers would likely need to agree a second loan stint with the Premier League giants.

But Gers head coach Rohl is determined to make it happen as he reiterated his desire to bring the youngster back to Rangers before revealing that talks are already underway between the two parties.

Asked about supporters wanting Moore to stay, Rohl responded with a wry smile: “Me as well! There’s no question mark. We started this week to prepare for the summer. We’re in a good position and we are very clear about what we want.

Follow our GlasgowWorld - Rangers Facebook page to get all the latest news stories on the Light Blues

“It’s also helpful now that we have an idea of how I want to play football. We’re committed with a fantastic owner and good people around me. Everything goes in the right direction. We’re working hard to prepare for next season but let’s finish this one strong and successful.

“I think conversations are always there (regarding Moore). We know when Mikey performs like this, he enjoys playing for Rangers. The fans love him, I like him and he’s a key player. There’s a lot of good things, where we could go again together.

“But he’s still not our player so let’s work in that direction. The most important thing is to get results in our next seven games. He enjoys it here and he’s getting better and better.”

Rohl convinced title will belong to Rangers if performance levels are maintained

Further goals from Tochi Chukwuani, Nicolas Raskin and James Tavernier capped off an impressive win over the Dons. And Rohl was thrilled with his team’s dominant display as they stayed within three points off leaders Hearts at the top of the table.

The German boss is now urging his players to keep hitting a similar performance level as they look to finish the season unbeaten. Should they managed to do so after the international break, Rohl is confident the trophy will be heading to Ibrox.

“It was a great performance today,” he stated. “We spoke about getting a result and performance and we got both. It makes me really happy to see my team perform like this.

“We want to see goals but also clean sheets. The only small thing today was that we let Aberdeen back in for a short moment at 2-0. But in general, we played with intensity, we were aggressive and it was a good performance.

“It’s a small statement from us, especially with the goal difference. We’ve won our last two ‘cup finals’. Now we have seven more to go. We cannot influence the schedule. We just want to win the next two games before we go into the split and the final five games will be exciting.

“What’s important is that we have something to celebrate on the final match day. It doesn’t matter what the others are doing. If we win the seven games, we’ll win the league.”

Harry Redknapp has made light of his Tottenham return links as his former side continue their fall from grace in the English top-flight, however he stated if he was to return, he’d bring the band back together - including a former Rangers duo.

The former Spurs gaffer managed eight different clubs south of the border during a career that spanned three decades. He moved from Portsmouth to White Hart Lane in 2008 and took a plethora of Pompey stars with him. As the pressure builds on Spurs current boss Igor Tudor after four defeats in his first four matches, Redknapp is among the names being bandied about as potential successors.

The 79-year old was spotted at Cheltenham through the week, cheering on his horse The Jukebox Man in the Gold Cup. When asked by Itv Racing’s Matt Chapman if he would consider a return, he joked he would bring two former Ibrox stars with him.

Redknapp ready to call upon Rangers duo

Former Ibrox marksman Jermaine Defoe played under Redknapp for West Ham, Portsmouth and Spurs, while ex Rangers midfielder Nico Kranjcar was also signed by him three times for Pompey, Tottenham and QPR. Along with Peter Crouch - another forward who Redknapp signed on several occasions - the legendary gaffer joked he’d be getting the band back together if a Tottenham return was on the cards.

He said: “I’m not saying I wouldn’t take the job, I certainly would. But I doubt very much that it would happen. I’d love the opportunity. I’d go in and have a crack at it. It’s a big challenge. At my age, do I need that kind of pressure in this stage of my life? Yes, why not? I’d give it a go. I’m not too old and I feel as fit as a fiddle.

“So yes, if they asked me, I think I could go in there and do the job for sure. I’m bringing Kranjcar, Crouchy and Defoe, they’re all coming back. That would be the forward line on Saturday! We’d be ready to go. But, of course I’d absolutely take the job.”

What has happened at Tottenham?

After Ange Postecoglou ended Spurs’ 17-year trophy drought last season, the club were looking to build on that success but after a year of ill-discipline, in-fighting, fan protests and general turmoil at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the chances are becoming increasingly likely that their 48 year stay in the English top flight could come to an end. They currently sit just one point clear of the drop zone.

Danny Rohl has hinted that Rangers are open to making an approach to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur to extend Mikey Moore’s stay at the club beyond the end of the season.

The 18-year-old playmaker joined the Ibrox side on a season-long loan from Spurs last summer and after a sluggish start under previous boss Russell Martin, the winger has developed into a first-team regular under current head coach Rohl.

To date, Moore has made 36 appearances across all competitions and has offered versatility in the attacking areas. He has developed into a fans’ favourite and the player himself has already spoken of his affection for the club.

Moore is tied down to a “long-term” contract in North London, but with Tottenham changing their manager and battling relegation this term, the teenage prospect could face an uncertain future.

Rohl admits he has enjoyed working with the Spurs talent and confirmed that discussions will begin soon on plans for next season, suggesting a return for Moore either on another loan or a permanent deal could be on the table.

“Yeah, first, I think he made a fantastic development since I’m here,” Rohl admitted when asked about the possibility of Moore staying at Ibrox beyond the summer. “He showed his quality, he’s still a young player, and he gained a lot of good experience this year.

Follow our GlasgowWorld - Rangers Facebook page to get all the latest news stories on the Light Blues

“To play for a big club is always important, helpful in a young career, and a good experience; he did so well. I’m happy with him and of course, let’s see what we can do. I think this is something to consider in the following weeks.

“I think this is a good thing that we are clear, we start next week as well to speak about the summer (as a club). Bring all this information together, and I think it’s important not just what we feel, I think Mikey feels also really good here, you see the relationship between him and the fans.

“He likes the club, but there are a lot of different people around to make such a decision. I think let’s see what we can do in the future. For now lets focus on the title race and then we will hopefully make good decisions in the summer.

Rohl seeks patience from Rangers fans but urges them to bring the passion

Rangers head into Sunday’s colossal Old Firm meeting in a better position than rivals Celtic, but the emergence of a third force in Hearts this season has made for a fascinating title race.

The outcome of this game out have severe consequences for the losing side with the stakes now higher than ever before in determining how might lift the Premiership title.

Rohl is pleading for patience from an expectant home crowd this weekend as they look to break down Celtic, but has urged them to bring the passion and the noise.

The German added: “Yes, I think this is a big part of our development, we know we want to play forward, we want to attack. For me, it’s not necessary to prepare the next chance with 100 passes, I’ve said this many times, but sometimes you have to move the opponent in one space so you can attack the other space.

”But generally it’s important that we have our vertical possession in our mind, instead of we play backwards, backwards, and if we can do this and we stick to this principle and hen we make good decisions.”

A pundit has claimed that Tottenham would be open to allowing Mikey Moore return south of the border this summer - but Rangers may have an alternate plan.

Mikey Moore joined the Light Blues on loan from the Premier League side last summer and after a slow start under Russell Martin, the arrival of head coach Danny Rohl has sparked the promising Spurs talent into life. It’s got some asking whether or not Rangers will be back in for him this summer.

Barry Ferguson is an Ibrox icon and watched Rohl’s side in training last week with a host of other Light Blues legend. Serving as interim manager last term, he discussed Moore’s future at Tottenham and Rangers on Go Radio, alongside ex-Aston Villa, Celtic and Norwich City coach Peter Grant.

Barry Ferguson on Mikey Moore

He has loved watching him play for Rangers in a variety of attacking roles and believes the loan has been of benefit to all parties. A question now sits of what happens once it expires in the summer.

Ferguson said: “He makes things happen. Listen, he came up here as a boy and he's grown into a man. There's no doubt about it. He’s had a new lease of life under Danny Rohl. I really like him centrally. I think he's so dangerous, but listen, the great thing about him is the young man can play on either flank. When he plays just in behind in that kind of floating role behind a main striker, he's so dangerous.

“Do you know what I love about him? He gets the ball and his first thing is he's direct. He goes towards the goal. He's always looking to go and get at defenders. Yeah, I just, I really like him. We spoke about it a couple of weeks ago. This is going to be the issue. I think Rangers has been good for Mikey Moore and it's been good for Tottenham as well for his development. What's Tottenham going to do with him in the summer?

Why would Rangers buy Mike Moore from Tottenham?

Grant, who has coached south of the border at youth level with sides like Fulham, believes Tottenham would sanction another move north for Moore but Rangers would explore a profit opportunity in buying him outright. He said: “Tottenham would allow me to stay up here. Tottenham would allow him to stay up here and I think Rangers would buy him.

“I think Rangers would buy him because then they think they could sell him on. You know the thing that surprised me with all of that, remember I said months and months ago when he came up and Russell Martin signed him.

“I can't believe he's playing him wide right. I said he is in behind the striker and he is a threat. It doesn't matter, forget his age. He is a threat when he plays in there. I have seen him a lot at Tottenham as a kid. That's his only position.”

Rangers remain in contention for the Scottish Premiership title under Danny Rohl and will hope that the contributions of Tottenham Hotspur loanee Mikey Moore will help them in their quest in the remainder of the season.

The 18-year-old winger signed on a season-long loan deal last summer and has stepped up at Ibrox, in what is his first experience of regular senior first-team football after just 12 Premier League appearances for Spurs. Bagging five goals and three assists in all competitions for the Gers, the teenager has become a regular starter under Rohl and has been named in the XI in 11 of the last 13 Scottish Premiership matches.

Moore scored a late equaliser on Sunday as Rangers came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Livingston but saw the deficit at the top increase to four points, after a stunning 4-2 victory over Hearts at Ibrox the week prior had blown the race for top spot wide open.

Rangers could face roadblock in second Moore transfer deal

Rangers are ‘eager’ to sign Moore on a second loan deal this summer but could find an unlikely stumbling block in the shape of Tottenham’s unstable Premier League status, as per reports by TEAMtalk.

Moore has excelled during his spell north of the border and club officials feel that a second loan spell at the club would be beneficial to the teenager as he continues his development. The England Under-19 international is thought to feel at home in Glasgow and would be open to the idea of returning, appearing ‘equally enthusiastic’ about extending his stay.

However, if Spurs were to suffer a shock relegation to the Championship, this could change matters. Reporting claims that the north London club would be keen to have Moore within their first-team squad if they were relegated to the second tier for the 2026/27 season. While this would have been an unthinkable proposition just a few short months ago, Igor Tudor’s side are sat 16th in the table and just four points above the drop zone without a league victory in 2026.

Moore’s progress in Glasgow will be keenly watched and without a permanent buy clause in his contract another loan deal could become a possibility, as long as Tottenham remain in the top flight come the end of the season.

Rohl rages after ‘clear foul’ on Moore goes unpunished

Rohl was furious with match officials on Sunday after a late challenge on Moore went unpunished in stoppage time at Livingston, with the Spurs loanee thinking he had won a penalty after a crunching tackle by Cammy Kerr - leading to a pundit debate on the incident.

Rohl told reporters at full-time: “For me, it’s a clear foul. I think it’s on the line. And then it’s two decisions. If it’s outside, it’s a red card and a free kick. If it’s inside, then it’s a penalty and a yellow card.

“I think there’s no [contact] on the ball, the contact goes to the man. I think those are crucial moments in this [title] race as well.”

Asked if he was surprised the referee wasn’t sent to his pitch-side monitor, he said: “Yeah, of course. The first thing is, when they checked over two or three minutes, there must be something. And then I was surprised that the ref did not watch it back. Maybe he has an explanation. I don’t have this but, finally, again, we have 100 minutes to decide this game earlier.”
